I had booked two appointments in advance- a spa pedicure with Ann and a gel fill with Annie. I made sure to book with them, as I've seen and heard the negative reviews on Joe. I came in at the time of my appointment and wait 20 minutes to sit down for my pedicure. Who ends up doing it? Joe. I don't make a fuss, I give him a chance, he's a very nice man and we make small talk about our kids and lives. However! Tell me why he was cutting my cuticles after he had painted my nails? I look down while my painted toes are drying and see a piece of toenail dangling from the top of my big toe that he had not managed to cut off. I sat and waited and waited to see Anne for my nails. Joe comes over and starts to take my polish off of my acrylics with a tool while I'm sitting in the pedicure chair. Not only did I not make an appointment with him, both my appointments ran so late and I'm still not seeing who I requested. Joe ends up cutting the side of my ring finger with the tool and I immediately stop him, tell him thank you, and that I'll wait for Anne. After sitting there a while longer, I decide this place could care less about me, who I booked an appointment with and being on time. I grabbed my things, paid for my pedicure, and walked out. DO NOT LET JOE TOUCH YOUR NAILS, LADIES! Trust me on this! And if you make an appointment with Anne or Annie, do not let them ignore you and put you with someone else! It's really unfortunate for them considering I just made a huge sale on a house & their tip would've been amazing if they had honored the appointments I made. Luckily, I managed to book an instant appointment with Cindy at Star Nails, who immediately took care of me by removing the chipped and messy polish from my toes (as well as cut them properly and removed the hanging toenail!) and gave me a pedicure, as well as a gel fill. She couldn't BELIEVE the pedicure I walked in with! Definitely do yourselves a favor and don't go to this place. So disappointing. read more

First time coming here but I'm already in love! Oanh was super friendly and gentle. I came in with a specific design in mind and showed her a picture for reference and she got it spot on. She went so far as to create a custom acrylic powder for my nails because she didn't have one close enough to the color I wanted, not many nail salons take the time to do that. Starting to love this salon ! First they're open until 7:30 pm which was amazing for me looking for last moment manicure I was more like desperate to find an available spot! My manicurist was Ann who did an amazing job as you could see ! Look at my nails after 10 days!!! Amazing job ! After I got my nails done here, I went to a wedding later that day and someone said, "OH MY GOD, WHAT THE F-- HAPPENED TO YOUR NAILS?!" That phrase best sums it up, but to give you more detail, this was the worst and most painful manicure I've ever had. The experience was rushed, the girl stood up the entire time while hastily and aggressively doing my fingers, there was no down time between each coat which resulted in bubbling, the polish was lumpy and uneven, AND THEN MY CUTICLES WERE CUT SO THAT I BLED ON *BOTH* OF MY RING FINGERS!! You get what you pay for. And the mani-pedis here are cheap ($30). I'll gladly pay much more elsewhere to avoid bleeding fingers and hopefully strive for polish that doesn't look like a preschooler applied it. Maybe it's true that the owners do a better job, but I won't be back to risk it. I came to get gel nails removed and this place absolutely destroyed my nails- they used a motorized file and took off most of my nail until they were thin as paper. They took 3 months to grow out and broke constantly. It's also disgusting and nothing was wiped cleaned- I had to lay my hands on a dirty towel with previous nail fragments on it. While their quality is good (I only know with Annie) keeping to their appointment schedule is not good. I was a very regular customer, and it is really sad that they do not give respect to people's appointments. I was making my appointments weeks in advance, and I get sometimes that they can run late, but taking others in my appointment time with no regard to long standing customer appointment is just not right and disrespectful. This was my second time going here.. actually third time. First time I had to go back because my GEL NAIL POLISH PEELED OFF THE NEXT DAY!!!!! The shape was great but the darn nail polish peeled off after the second visit! Walked in needing a fill and two broken nails fixed. The person who helped me out was completely unable to take direction. I wanted a narrow coffin shape and came out with some looking almond, some square, and others narrow coffin. I asked her multiple times to fix it and she just didn't. I went here as an emergency, should've known better but I really needed my two nails fixed.. Money wasted, will have to visit my go to place this weekend. oh yeah, on top of that they charged $43 for everything and were unable to explain the cost of everything. TERRIBLE!!!!!! Horrible experience!!!! I never write Yelp reviews yet alone a bad one. I went to simply get my acrylics taken off. I'm 21 and I never get acrylics so this was my first time getting them off. The 3 workers seemed nice and everything started off fine...THEN the guy tried to RIP the acrylic on my pinky and almost took my actual nail off with it!!!! There's a huge crack across the middle and it was bleeding!!!! I would've thought they'd soak my nails in acetone or DO SOMETHING OTHER THAN RIPPING MY NAIL!!! He kept messing with it some more and every time I flinched he'd say "Oh it hurts?" And then at the end "Keep the acrylic on don't worry your nail will grow back." Then they had the nerve to still charge me $10 "instead of 12" !!!! I'm so mad!!!! I'm never going there ever again and I will never recommend this place to any of my friends ever!!! read more

Minus stars! The unsanitary practices of this place was unbelievable! Dirty floors, dirty chairs and dirty tables! They don't bother to clean stations between customers. This is unacceptable for any salon --but especially in this COVID era. The owners Joe and Annie are at first introduction seem okay friendly, but after a few visits have sh*ty attitudes, are rude, and talk in their language (Vietnamese) about all the salon customers. When making appointments they give customers specific appt., times, but when you arrive there, they make you wait 10-20 minutes. Everything about this nail salon is unacceptable. Best gel manicure I've ever gotten--and that says a lot. I was going to a place in Ventura before, that wouldn't put the gel all the to the cuticle and it would look grown out so fast, but here Annie did an amazing job and my nails look unreal. Super simple but very well done. I had at least 10 people compliment my nails at work right after I got them done, and that never happens. Lol The salon is no frills, but it's comfortable and the massage chairs are lovely. Definitely have my new nail spot. read more

I saw the negative and against my best judgement I went here with a friend. We should have left the moment we went in. The place was silent, no music and they barely understood what we wanted. My friend wanted a gel manicure which we were told over the phone was $20 (spoiler: it wasn't). They had two people working on one girl and three others just chilling. One went to work on me and I wanted silk wrap nails since they are better for your natural nails. They constantly kept asking me if I wanted to switch to acrylic since they're stronger, which I kept saying no. They asked me 3 times if I was sure, that should've been my second clue. Next I asked if I could have an ombre fade and was told it was a special polish and they couldn't do it, no biggie I was just going to get black then. I wanted pointed tips and they lady started and it was fine but they ended up square, then pointed when it was done. I had to hold my nails up to the light she was using to get them dry each time she applied the glue. Odd, but whatever. When she was done the black polish was glopped on they had me sit under the UV lights and I finally asked if I could go and was told it would take an hour for them to dry. I should've never said they were good, because they weren't. When I got home, it was fine, but the next day the polish was uneven and you could see the odd layers of the polish. I took the polish off and when I tried to paint them myself, I noticed just how poorly shaped they were. I know she just cut them to the length THEN shaped them. It was my own fault for not saying anything sooner but I had conflicts. My poor friend had her person just get up and leave to go to the back and no one came to finish her for over 10 minutes and there was still two ladies just chatting while that happened. I really just want the nails off at this point. The only good ones are the pinkies. I'm just bummed I spent $35 (plus $5 tip) for poorly done nails and a shotty paint job. I'm extremely disappointed. I never get my nails done. But the day I went to c k nails I had broken two nails in the morning and newly engaged in wanted my hands to look nice. So I got off work early and it's was not far form where i work so I went . It's a simple place I thought ok , looks good. I waited a good 30 min to be serviced one I got in the chair the man kept walking back and forth helping with the pedicure chairs, I felt ignore once I showed him a picture of what I wanted I felt him get nervous I felt him get nervous ( I wanted almond shaped nails ) Once I told him what I do I'm a licenced cosmetologist he got more nervous He started of by picking out nail tips. I hate this personally almond nails should be done with nail forms but whatever. Then he picked out the wrong sized nail tips for my nails. Then proceeded to file my nails so much it hurt before he even applied acrylic powder. He finally stopped once I told him to stop. He left a giant mark on one of my nails where I had a nail bruise. * it's basically just a white spot on my nails he kept trying to make it disappear tho it won't come off its just a spot on my nail. He finally applied acrylic and it looked ok . After about an hour I was just ready to go but got tired stay calm I don't want to be rude he's trying really hard to be nice. Then he cut my finger and just ignored it. Did not say sorry nothing. So im sitting there bleeding just wanting to leave. He insist on cutting my cuticles. If you are a manicurist you should never cut anybodys cuticles they are there for a reason. The reason why he wanted to cut them is cuz he drilled my nails to heavily they looked dry and ripped and Nasty flaky. Then when the easy part comes Polish and a few stone they some how manage to make that super complicated I had a picture just follow the picture it's just a triangle on top of my nails. The make the triangle backwards and just push the stones around until they get it right ,at this point my polish is ruined. Now that my nails grew out a bit the is giant peices of acrylic separated from my skin and braking off also. There was a giant nugget of acrylic under my nails I had to fix myself. So if you are thinking if going hear just don't do it. It looks horrible. Spend 35 on something better. read more

And I read that lots of people were happy with Annie and her husband. So when I made my appt I specifically asked for them. I had a gel mani and a pedi. I felt like I was being treated like a queen and didn't want to leave! I recently had my first gel mani on a cruise ship. My daughter and I had already gone to three different nail salons trying to find someone that did a good job, did what we asked as far as style and color and was reasonable. Each time we went to a salon we were hoping that we would finally get that and be able to have that salon as our regular nail salon. We like to have a salon that we go to and become loyal to our nail technicians. Each time that did not happen... The fourth salon was CK nails and spa in Camarillo. Starting with the phone call when I made the appointment the lady on the phone was so sweet when we went in they were very accommodating they did exactly as we asked and they did a phenomenal job on my nails and my daughters. We have finally found our salon and that is where we will go from now on. They care about the job that they do, they're kind and accommodating, the salon was clean they had a huge selection of colors. and the price was incredibly affordable especially with the job that they did and the time that they took it was amazing!! I just wanted to thank that salon, the gentleman that did my nails and the sweet lady that did my daughters nails made her so happy and made me happy and we will continue to come to the salon on a regular basis. First off, don't bring your kids here...they're very rude about having kids being "too loud" and shushing them to their face making one of my 3 year old daughters about to cry. Never been to a nail place where they don't like kids there. Second, the nail tech was not prepared. She kept going back and forth to get the stuff she needed which took longer. And idk why but after my nails were already done, the nail tech decided to file all my nails after she put the clear top coat and dried already. Never had that done before. So, I'm never going back. I had called to set an appointment to get my nails done for a wedding. I decided to go on my lunch break only because I get off at 7 and they don't take any service after that time. When I arrived I had to wait 20 min. Even though I set an appointment. I'm a Vietnamese American, born and raised here. I am not fluent in speaking Vietnamese. So when the lady that did my nails knew I was Vietnamese, she started to speak to me in Vietnamese. I spoke I get some words and words I didn't know I would just say it in English. They laughed and just talking bout how I don't know how to speak well. Very degrading! I continue to talk to them during my service in English and they looked and acted like they didn't know any English. So I got really uncomfortable! I had a pretty good experience at CK nails and would go back. I got a gel manicure which was $30 dollars in a beautiful color called papaya whip. I was helped right away and the lady doing my nails was very nice. Lots of customers came in after me, even some with appointments that had to wait a bit. Some were told to come back later. I'm giving this spa 4 stars because the experience could have been better and I thought it was a tad pricey. All in all good place though! read more

Dropped by for a last minute pedicure on the way to a wedding in Santa Barbara. Prices are on the high end. The quality of the services provided were average and nothing special. Although, I did enjoy the quick 1 minute foot and leg massage. The massage chairs were also really comfortable and fully functioning (unlike some nail spas). If you don't really care to chit chat with your manicurist or pedicurist, this is the place to go. Also, I liked how they were very gentle with my feet. Overall, a good experience. This business has new owners and I have to say, it made all the difference! I used to have my nails done here but was frequently disappointed by a very long wait time, even though I had an appointment. On top of that, they would frequently stop working on me to start or finish with another client. This should not happen, especially when you have an appointment! I stopped by today, met the new owners and was surprised by the professionalism and level of care I received. This salon is clean, offers a LARGE selection of nail polish and gel colors, the services are fairly priced and the nail technicians are thorough in their work. I've been trying nail salons for about 14 years from Chula Vista to Camarillo and I've found the right place!
