I was legitimately embarrassed walking in due to the unsightly condition of my hands and feet. Having been traumatized by a different local salon, months had passed of neglecting proper care of my fingers and toes. Sought out a new nail place -- I think I just found the best manicurist in Camarillo! Went here for a regular MANICURE AND PEDICURE. I have never experienced such immaculate, detailed, yet gentle care of my nails before. My feet had major calluses since I wear slippers a lot. Lisa used a variety of metal files, pumice stones, and even a ROTATING DRILL to exfoliate my cracked heels! She set me at ease throughout my entire visit, using a variety of moisturizing oils, and triple-checked each nook and cranny of my nails to confirm that they looked perfect up close. No joke, THE BOTTOMS OF MY FEET WERE TRANSFORMED INTO SILKY SMOOTHNESS! After my pedicure, Lisa spent just as much effort on my manicure, ultimately checking to make sure I loved the results of everything. Quality takes time -- and Lisa will devote as much time as necessary. Side note: She even HELPED FISH AN EYELASH OUT OF MY EYE SINCE MY NAILS WERE STILL WET! Talk about full service! I had plain polish applied, but Lisa also specializes in FANCY FLOWER DESIGNS if you're into that for your nails. She will gladly try and accommodate any request. Need help choosing colors? She was happy to do so for me. Shout out to the awesome massage chairs! These things don't mess around! The inner rollers kneaded my entire back like a deep shiatsu massage. They were vibrating so much that my chubby cheeks jiggled; I couldn't help but laugh at myself a little bit. Make sure to call ahead for an appointment! They book up fast here! With a loyal clientele that boasts of longtime customers (some almost 20 years!), as well as newbies like myself, better to confirm availability rather than doing a walk-in. Today was my first time. What a way to start the New Year. This is a small yet nice place to come and spend some time on your own self care. It is peaceful, quiet and clean. As said in earlier reviews, it is run by a Husband and Wife team (Mike and Lisa). They clearly can do fancy gel, silk wrap, dip and acrylic high fashion nails but I came in for a regular manicure/pedicure. They have no problem for us minimalist gals. I didn't want any color on my hands, but they finished off my nails with two different clear coat products resulting in an excellent shiny finish on my natural nails. Bonus note for you - if you go in for a manicure/pedicure it is not a twisty, contortion experience. You will get a manicure at a manicure table, and a pedicure in the pedicure chairs. They do not try to do it all in one station. This nail salon is very professional with a peaceful and respectful atmosphere that is extended to all of their clients. No high pressure sales to do more. I witnessed another client that already paid and walked out, return just a couple of steps later because she nicked her polish. Lisa quickly rescued it without hesitation. Because this is a small operation, appointments are strongly suggested. According to Mike, they will have the occasional last minute cancellations which, in rare cases of serendipity, you may be able to score a walk-in appointment. Mike said that they are open Tuesday - Saturday. Don't quote me on the hours - but I vaguely recall their hours are from 10AM - 6PM. Another thing that Mike said was that they do answer their phone. This place looked cute, but I was unfortunately unable to see for myself because they do not honor their posted hours. I live out of town and needed a manicure before an event. I walked in no where near their posted closing time and was told that they were done for the day. Me: "Hi, I'd like to get a manicure!" Guy: "I'm sorry, we're done for the day." Me: Oh. Today was my first visit to Lisa's Nails. I found this salon through a Yelp search and so glad that I did. I made an appointment over the phone and did not have any wait time when I arrived. It is a small salon, which I liked. It was not overpowered by loud conversation and had music playing at a decent volume. The nail tech was very helpful and patient in helping me choose the perfect shade of polish. I enjoyed my manicure experience and my nails turned out really nice. Just had a pedicure at this place. Lisa was the one who did it. Very nice and friendly people! I made an appt. and they were ready only a few minutes after the appt. time. Which was good that I didn't have to wait to much longer than the appt. time. The Pedicure cost $25.00. The place is small and clean. The message was nice as Lisa hit some good pressure points on my calves and feet. I think she could have messaged a little longer. She scoured my feet well. I think the callous remover treatment is $10.00 more, so I didn't get it this time. I let her know not to cut my toenails too short, which she accomodated. She shaped the nails nicely with a file and they all look pretty even. I liked the fact that they used a plasitc liner in their foot tubs on the chair. The chair looked to be in good condition and worked well, the chairs message feature worked very well and felt good. Some times those chairs don't hit the right spots and are more uncomfortable than pleasurable. This one was very comfortable. The polish job was okay, maybe could have used another coat, I can still see ridges on my big toe nails. They got me in and out within an hour which was good because I get my pedi's on my lunch hour. I'll be returning for my next pedi. Let's see how long the polish stays on. It seems at Paris Nails, where I was going previously, the polish chipped almost immediately. This is using good polish too, but if they don't put it on the tips of your nails thoroughly, it chips easily. So overall I was happy with my pedi and will return again. read more

I am tough on nails. In fact, my mom used to say I am at war with my nails. I used to answer 'well if the bottom of my purse wouldn't fight so hard, the war would be over.' I also like my nails, well, perfect. I write real estate contracts and my nails are a reflection of me. I finally break away from my old salon. Not because I wanted to but because I had to drive a long long way to get there. I made an appointment at Lisa Nails. Very unassuming, I didn't know what to expect. Wow, was I impressed. The first day I went in for just a pedicure (baby steps.) Mindy gave me the best pedicure I've ever had. I asked for gel because I told them my toenail polish chips and don't want that to happen. Mike at the salon said if the polish procedure is done right, they shouldn't chip. Sure enough, with regular polish and Lisa Nail's expertise, in and out of boots, flip flops to the beach, and through the woods, two weeks later my toes still look like the day they were done!! So I get brave and go in for the manicure, which in my case is a french tip, pink powder creation. Long and short of it, Lisa, the first time she ever did my nails did a perfect job. I mean not 99.5%, but 100% perfect. I'm hoping I can attach a picture here as I get many, many compliments on my nails and my signature oval shape (signature only because I don't like squarish nails on MY hands.) Maybe this one just a one time fluke but I had heard good things about this place so I decided to try it spur of the moment in hopes at finding a good place close to home. Made an appointment for 4 didn't get helped until 4:30. I intended on getting a gel manicure but apparently there was a miscommunication...? Not sure if it was a language barrier or I wasn't clear enough. All I got was a $35 gel polish change. No massage, no cuticle clean up. I was extremely disappointed at the price for the little service I got. Unfortunately, Lisa's Nails will not be getting my business going forward. read more

My daughter and I have always done our own nails but after a medical issue my daughter is no longer able. I am not coordinated enough to do hers and really not that good at my own. My 95 year old mother in law has been going to Lisa's for many years and recommended that we try them. Lisa and Mi are wonderful people. The quality of their work is great and they always try to accommodate if we need to get in last minute. Like another person reviewed, I am very picky with my nails, mostly manicures and acrylics. I never get good service or quality it seems. BUT THIS PLACE IS THE BEST! Mike did both my manicure and pedicure. He takes his time and is very thorough. I also like the fact that he knows already not to cut all your cuticles off, I didn't even have to ask him. He knows just what to do to make your nails beautiful. They also don't push you here for other stuff by trying to up the sale and make you get a gel manicure rather than regular polish or ask to take your calluses off.
