Village Hardware has been here for ages. They have a decent selection of everything, from grills to…read morebeach chairs to regular household items like plungers. The staff is very friendly. Often, as soon as you walk in, they ask if they can help you find something. They even track down items and bring them to you! Parking on the street can be a challenge, but there is a public lot (time limited, keep an eye on it or you will get a ticket) directly behind the store. Prices are higher than you would pay at Home Depot, but the closest Home Depot is a longggg way away :)

The salesperson was a nowhere near the key copying machine for 20 minutes, when I asked a cashier how long they paged this guy. When he came around after another few minutes he raised his voice at me and said "I told you it would be a minute!" I said it's been 25 minutes! At which time he began ridiculing me in front of my son and other customers. Finally, he shouted "next time you need keys made go to the Home Depot!!!" And he kept shouting. It's a short drive to Wainscott Hardware or Sp[rings Hardware.

I am extremely unhappy with my experience at Henry Persans & Sons on 24th August 2024. I went in to…read morebuy some pool cleaning equipment for approx. $50 and parked in their car park. I nipped around the corner after to buy a cup of coffee, before returning 30 minutes later to find they had booted my car themselves and demanded me pay $300 to take the boot off. The car park was empty, the signs in the car park said customer parking only (which after spending $50 in the store I most certainly was). I pleaded with the teenagers at the desk to please take the boot off my car, but they would not until I paid them. When I disputed this charge with my credit card provider - Henry Person & Sons said they had booted my car because I was not a customer - all lies, lies, lies. I do not recommend this store at all. The are SCAM ARTISTS AND RIPPING THEIR CUSTOMERS OFF. Avoid them at all costs.

I stopped by to pick up air filters for my air conditioner, met an associate who read the specs and handed me two filters per my request. I returned home with the two filters that was indeed the wrong size. I went back to the store to exchange the size and they told me they don't do any exchanges or refunds. I'm not sure how the heck this hardware store thinks they can stay in business. The cashier basically said your purchased it you own it. I left the unopened filter and I recommend skipping this boneheads. East Hampton Hardware or Riverhead building are the better choice.

Amazing customer service! We bought a three piece teak outdoor furniture set from Thayers more than…read morefive years ago. We noticed two braces underneath the couch were cracked even though no one over 200 lbs. sat in it. We called Thayers and Roger and Owen surprised us by picking it up, repairing it better than new and delivering it in time for our company to arrive. The closest Home Depot to the Hampton's is in Riverhead, so this is your only choice. They have a…read morelarge selection , have recently modernized the store with a new layout, and for the most part have friendly and knowledgeable staff. The prices are higher than Home Depot, but it's convenient not having the hour drive to Riverhead. They also have a design and showroom with much of the options on display for you to see before buying. They also offer installation on things ranging from front doors to ceiling fans.
