Thank goodness a friend recommended this place to us because they saved our Christmas! We found such a gorgeous curation of ornaments - really unique and fabulous. Prices weren't exactly a bargain but they really deserve to make money based on how beautiful they make the store and how they pull together a great selection of items you don't see anywhere else. It was super busy the few times we were there but staff was super helpful and they took my ornaments behind the register, packed them up and whisked me to register to quickly check me out when I was finished. I've been back a few times since and salespeople are always extremely helpful and nice, giving great advice on how to style something or suggesting items that I may have overlooked. Grounds are exceptionally beautiful and it's a great stop to make if you need a last minute gift. They have greeting cards and their signature bag, tissue paper and ribbon make for a perfect presentation for any occasion!

Service is pretty good. If what you need isn't in the show room then it might be in the backroom. Just ask. I needed a small pitch fork, which wasn't on display. I asked and low and behold they had one! Prices are a tad high but they have an unadvertised senior citizen discount once a week. I think it's Tuesday! Could be Thursday though. Can not remember. But you have to ask and let them know you are a senior...they don't seem to like to assume if you are a senior or not.

You'd have to order online or search every display table at our local retail outlets, and then check to be sure those are really Long Island locals, attractive to birds, nourishing for pollinators and hardy enough to grow in our mostly sandy or loamy soil. Native plants don't need fertilizers or even much water after they've settled into the right place, so you're not wasting money or resources. Wittendales has clearly labelled "LI Local" pots with blue and yellow stickers (think Swedish flag colors), along with posters, signs, and a binder with plant care tips. If you need help coordinating plants that play well together , I'm told their displays of color coordinated "companion plantings " will change as the growing season progresses. This store has literally everything, whether you're looking for fresh pasta, caviar, pizza, sushi or any other pantry staple you're looking for. The space is clean and well organized. Some of them have expanded offerings which aren't as good as what they are primarily known for. The store is immaculate and well staffed. It's similar to the one on the Upper East Side. The produce is beautiful and looks curated. There were some very niche offerings, like fiddlehead ferns. Citarella started out as a fish store on the Upper West Side. They have an extensive, excellent selection of seafood. Their butcher shop is hilarious. Prices vary from nosebleed inducing to heart stopping. It makes dinner at a steakhouse a good value proposition by comparison. Hopefully some finance bros will take advantage of paying as much as possible for a product. There's a good looking salad bar and breakfast bar. Breakfast sandwiches were reasonably priced. There were a bunch of nice pre made salads and sandwiches. The prepared foods at Citarella's are excellent. Their crab cakes and fish cakes are great. I'm a big fan of the pork chop Milanese that they stock at their Upper East Side location. I lobbied the manager to offer it here. The baked goods looked great and are competitively priced. Finally, there's a big selection of grocery store items. A great addition to the area. A lot of their stuff is excellent. Avoid the ridiculously overpriced stuff and enjoy what Citarella's is good at.
