Was here to get my vision test and new glasses. my appointment time was at 10:30, i showed up at 10:15, was not seen by the doctor until 11:30, spent a whopping 5 minutes in the exam room and was shuffled out back to the waiting room. I WILL NEVER RETURN please learn how to run a business this is extremely embarrassing for a "corporate" company. it's a joke read more

I was totally going to go with them for an eye exam and two pairs of glasses but when I called to talk to someone about my vision coverage all I got was the automated but which I could not get past...I tried several times asking for a real person and customer service and couldn't get pass the bot...This is not the kind of customer service I look for...I will take my business elsewhere. read more

Updated review- after an hour (45 minutes AFTER my stated appt time) sitting in the waiting area- finally said something. Was told it takes a while to get the pre-testing set up. Hard to believe an eye puffer takes 45 minutes+ to reset and prep. Then I get the pleasure of paying an EXTRA $40 for a telehealth appointment. In total 1.5-2 hours for an eye exam and checkout is excessive. Had glasses picked out before the eye exam. Plus talking smack about previous customers with current customers in earshot is really not professional. Customer service is almost non-existent. read more

Everything, they were rude, took forever and I saw 3 people leave angry while I was waiting.

It is 14 February and I am still waiting for my order, I did receive my sunglasses( I a case that broke first time I opened it. My order was supposedly due on 14 January. Still awaiting a text saying my glasses are in. When I call I get the privilege of speaking to a computer that tells me it will still be 3-5 days for my order to arrive. I think a month and a half for a pair of glasses in this day and age is ridiculous- no special prescription bifocals with all the extras they up sold. Still no glasses or update on their arrival, no answer or update different from a computer. Poor service on this aspect. read more

Terrible service at the Niagara Falls location. Rude associate and they seemed to have prejudice wrt to race and color as well. Making one feel low of their language by facial expressions and gestures. Also the person who received the call had very different responses to question than the person at the counter. read more

Never received a message saying my glasses were done. months later I had to actually go and there they were. Called got the automatic saying " they are being shipped or the latest online c hat was " we having no order for you" Doctor was not personable at all. I liked the women who helped me though. I was very pleased with my recent trip here! I went in on a weekday morning and it was very quick, compared to previous eye exams/experiences. The team was so helpful throughout it all, including the techs who were very kind and thoughtful, as well as the team members who gave honest answers about which glasses worked for my face, which I appreciate! They were welcoming and very excitable which is always appreciated, and we're not crazy salespeople trying to Jack up the price. The women working the front were very pleasant to deal with. The optomologist that did my eye exam however, seemed irritated and bored with doing the same thing every day. After the exam he asked me to put in contacts so he could see them. I put them in, complained that they felt a little weird, he looked at them and said "Yea, these contacts are a little big for your eyes" and sent me on my way. Ummm.... what ? Can you get me some contacts that fit ?? They do have a great selection of designer glasses. Guess, Candies, Etc. You will pay a high price for them but that's to be expected when you buy a designer brand. My other complaint was that they were so busy that I couldn't ask anyone for an opinion on the glasses that I tried on. I had to choose one that I liked...and do it quickly or I was never getting out of there. I ended up with a pair that I don't love but spent a ton of money on. We switched from an optometrist that we've gone to for 10+ years, they didn't take our insurance on certain days (???). Everyone was overwhelmingly friendly from the start. We had some help picking out good styles for our own looks, and made sure we were 100% certain with them. When we picked up our glasses, a lovely woman named Jessica enthusiastically helped us make sure they fit right. She was witty and positive, helping to make the interaction more comfortable and casual. I usually don't go out of my way to make reviews, simply because I don't think to. Don't go here. I spent a lot of money here on 3 pairs of glasses. The first pair, the eye measurements were wrong and because it was beyond 90 days I have a pair of glasses rendered useless. The second pair the arm broke off and guess what? They couldn't find that pair of glasses I bought in their system though the optician remembers selling them. This is not how you run a business. If you want to be treated like a piece of crap on the side way then I suggest you go here. read more

Awful awful experience at this location. Staff were unprofessional and all seemed to be bickering while I was there. The Dr. tried to get my exam done as soon as possible and did not explain my vision or exam to me at all. She gave me contacts and after I told her my eyesight was blurry, she said "your eyes won't be clear with contacts like it is with your glasses." Didn't offer any other options or brands of contacts. I'm not going to back to this office and would recommend you look for another eye doctor. read more

The assistants up front are very nice and manage the business well. The doctor, however, has absolutely no personality and comes across as someone who thinks she knows everything. My husband walked out from his appointment (after I had been seen) and announced that we would NOT be going back. I asked the assistant if there were other doctors available, but the one we saw is currently the only one! We have been going to this store for many years, and always had a good experience. That changed this week, and until they provide alternate physicians, we won't be back. read more

​The worse customer service I have ever experienced. I had set up an appointment for my son who has who has been a patient and was called to be told they no longer accept my insurance. I went to the office to see if I could have the RX for my son's glasses and was told they do accept my insurance and the gentleman called my insurance company and got confirmation so we set up an eye exam for the next day. When we arrived the next day Bernadette , who was rude from the get go informed me yet again (not just personally but in front of everyone standing there) they do not take my insurance. First off this was announced rudely to the whole office anyone who was there could take part in this conversation, secondly, we had already taken care of this the day before which I did explain and she continued to speak of this private matter in front of anyone in the office telling me that the gentleman who took the time to call and verify the day prior was not part of their usual staff and works elsewhere. I will never step foot into a vision source for any type of service again. To her credit she did give me the RX so at least I could replace my son's glasses elsewhere. read more

Chose this place because my insurance listed it. Once in they charged me $50 extra for a contact lens fitting, and then wouldn't give me a prescription until I came back later. Each time I went for an appointment I had to wait a half hour beyond my appointment time. I've seen many eye doctors and worn contacts for many years and have never had such a bs runaround. I won't be going back or ordering a thing from them. read more

This was my first visit at Empire for an eye exam. The man that greeted me at the desk was friendly, the girl that took me right away to do some testing was sweet and thorough. I immediately went into the next room to meet Dr. Ernest Czapla, who took the time to listen, test my eyes and help me not only feel comfortable, but to see! It was such a blessing to see that there are still good, caring doctors in this world! As I lwft, the girl up front helped me pick out some stylish glasses (with the help from another gentleman) and I was then on my way. No wait, no problems, and a whole lot of smiles! Only giving one star because there is not an option for zero stars. Where do I start?? Took my daughter for glasses and contacts. They gave her a trial pair of contacts and then told us that that brand wasn't covered under insurance. Was told they would have to "figure out" what was covered and that I would need to bring her back. Shouldn't they know what is covered under what plan?? Brought my son for glasses. Was given a prescription for a "slight" change. Picked up glasses and the kid couldn't see his hand in front of his face. Doctor re examined him and gave same prescription kid wears now. Why would I pay over 100.00 for the same glasses that he is currently wearing and nothing is wrong with? There is a lot of people running around the place but only 2 can actually help you. Don't know what the others actually do. One of the opticians seems to have ADD and just stares off around the place while doing things. Takes forever. I don't think any of these people actually know what they are doing. Will never go back read more

My husband went to pick up his glasses which were scheduled to be ready 3 days prior to today 1.14.17. Shows up at the store and there is a sign on the door "Closed for lunch". The whole store closes for lunch? Three employees sitting in the store looking at him as he walks up to the door but doesn't make a move to help him. Is this the way you run your business? Professional and courteous. I had to comment. I was able to schedule an appointment online at the last minute, early Friday afternoon. All three sales associates helped me. First associate, checked me in and was eager to see me, he was helpful and in good spirits. Second sales person, this associate did my pre-check and was enthusiastic and cleaned my glasses (which were not purchased at the store), and she adjusted them to fit my face, all with a wonderful attitude. Then I worked with the doctor who was professional, kind, caring, and knowledgeable. Lastly, a third associate checked me out and helped me get the best deal on contacts, she was also alert, kind and eager to help. Remember this is Friday afternoon in the summer. All staff was eager to help, professional, and enthusiastic. What an amazing experience. I can't express how happy I was to have such a positive experience. I highly recommend this Visionworks. This is a warning to anyone who is considering making an appointment or purchasing anything from this place. Don't do it! I am only giving this place one star because there is no option for 0. All three of my older children have worn glasses for the past 10 years. I relocated to the South Towns and had to get a new eye doctor. We were previously going to Thomas Turtle, who I would recommend to anyone. There customer service is outstanding. With Empire Visionworks it was the complete opposite experience! It was a nightmare. To begin, I was six minutes late due to weather and traffic. They took my daughter back for her appointment and then came out a few minutes later and told me they were only able to see two of my children and that I would have to reschedule the other for a later date!?!? There were several other people who were there for an appointment and left because they didn't want to wait. They still wouldn't offer me a spot!!! My son went in for his appointment and the optometrist thought he was wearing two pairs of contacts. She began digging in his eye even after he told her he was not wearing two pairs!!! My two children who were seen, walked out of there in tears because the optometrist hurt both of them during the eye exam. The optometrist didn't even consult with me during their visit. I find this strange since they are both under the age of 18 and I am their mother. In addition, there were several other workers who congregated with each other when it wasn't busy gossiping about customers. I was so appalled by the inappropriate things they were saying. They were commenting on how a customer's breath smelled. I wanted to run from this place the entire time. I'm glad my other child will not be going here. We made another appointment with another establishment that is a bit more professional. I will never return to this place again!!!!! read more
