I enjoyed the fact that everything was being explained while I was getting the exam. I was also amazed at the technology, how they were able to measure my vision and then tweak it without me covering and reading charts. I only had to confirm what made it clearer. Walking in the office is neat and clean. The receptionist helped me immediately and I was called within 15 minutes of arrival. I didn't check out the area for glasses because it was quite congested. I made a note to come back. I also had an eye freckle that I inquired about was advised to follow up with another office. They set up the referral for a call. I left with some drops and a pair of disposable glasses to help with light sensitivity from the drops. Great experience

I have never had a more in depth, understanding and relatable doctor all while being humorous and making the experience enjoyable. To no surprise I knew I was going to need new glasses, and the staff all around the board was beyond helpful. I normally do not enjoy looking for new glasses as I feel pressure from the staff to spend more of fancy frames and the high end lenses as a huge up charge. I was helped by all the staff, especially a younger woman at this location who made me feel like a friend, as we talked about school and life. I found the right frames and was then sat down to talk about the price and different lenses. All of the staff gave me feedback on the different lenses and what would be best for my very strong prescription. This young woman broke down the price and the difference from each upgraded type of lense. I normally feel Pressure but at one point she even asked "would you like me to Step away for a moment so you can think about it?". I immediately said no there's no need, as all along I knew they were trying to help me find the best for me, not so I would simply spend more. I will be recommending this store to anyone as I have never had a more pleasurable experience!

Every other clinic or Dr. lens I've been to over the years flips so fast I could barely get the words "better" or "worse" out before the next lense flipped. Also, Michael is an awesome optician. He doesn't just say what looks nice on you but measures the frames to ensure the right on the nose, side of face, and behind ears. The best part is he can pick good looking frame styles for people who need thick lenses. Some shapes in the proper size reduce the thickness of lenses which look better and not as heavy.

The biggest issue was the complete lack of transparency regarding the protection plan that was sold to me. When I purchased my glasses, I specifically asked what the protection plan covered because my primary concern was losing my glasses. I was clearly told that the plan covered both lost and damaged glasses, which is why I agreed to purchase it. When I later called after losing my glasses, I was informed that the plan does not cover lost glasses. That was the exact opposite of what I was told when making my purchase. When I called to discuss the issue, I spoke with Karen. While she never raised her voice, her tone and choice of words came across as dismissive and unprofessional. Rather than listening to my concerns or acknowledging that there may have been a misunderstanding on the office's part, she repeatedly implied that I must have "misheard" or "misunderstood." It's frustrating to be told that the mistake was yours when you specifically asked questions to avoid this exact situation. My concerns didn't stop there. During my eye exam, I explained to the doctor that I had previously worn bifocal lenses and did not like them because they caused more problems than they solved. Despite sharing my past experience, I was strongly encouraged to get bifocals again. I trusted the doctor's recommendation, but unfortunately, I ended up with the same issues I had experienced before. I also expressed concerns about my family's eye history and my significant light sensitivity, which continues even while wearing these glasses, and I requested a referral to a specialist. Instead of feeling heard, I left feeling like my concerns were brushed aside. Patients know their own experiences, and those concerns deserve to be taken seriously. Overall, this experience left me feeling misled, dismissed, and unheard. Honest communication, respectful customer service, and listening to patients should be the standard at any medical practice. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

When you refuse the offer they throw on an unadvertised "40% off" which still leaves the cost of the frames/lenses at the price it would cost anywhere else. They're inflating the price of the glasses to make the discount seem generous. They told me it was because I didn't have insurance but then that just means they're inflating the price for insurance costs. Visionworks was sued and settled a class action lawsuit for $4.2 Million in 2017 for a scam BOGO offer with the same exact details as listed above.

I really liked this provider at one time. I really tried not to give a bad review of Clarence Eye…read moreCenter and Dr Murphy but i could no longer hold off on this. When i first saw Dr Murphy he changed the way I see. I have an eye condition that causes me to see multiples. The solve for that is Scleral Lenses. They are very expensive and I got several pairs from Clarence Eye Center. For the first time in over 10 years, I was able to see clearly and only one of everything! He charges a $250 fitting fee for each eye, at least he did last time I last got lenses from him. This was to include the fitting fee for each eye including all scans to properly fit them as well as free follow ups for each eye to get the fit just right. The last pair I bought, on the last fitting, which should have been included, they billed my insurance for a routine eye exam. When i called to inquire they apologized but said they would not retract their claim from the insurance company. They offered me a "credit" for my next routine exam. I explained that I go to Fichte for routine eye exams and that I only see them for my lenses. They still refused to withdraw the claim. I could have at that point pushed to claim insurance fraud on them but since i just got resolved with my vision for what is usually a year or more i decided to not embarrass them with an insurance fraud claim. I figured that i would just find a new Scleral lense provider in the future even if I had to drive an hour to see them. Now, I am in the process of getting new lenses and my new provider reached out to them to get my records to get a baseline and not have to start from scratch and they have told my new provider that they cannot help them as they never did any scans of my eyes. That is a blatant lie since they needed to do the scans to fit me with the lenses. Moral of the story, Scleral Lenses are life changing, just don't go to Clarence Eye Center for them. Save yourself the headache and seek out a different provider.
