So this is my continuing tale of how frustrated and very disappointed I am with Empire Flooring. After I posted a scathing review of them, they called me again. I have talked with some people since and found out that the laminate was not properly installed. Empire said they would look into my concerns some more and get back to me. They denied me a refund of $300 for the repair work, they said it was my fault. Folks, it isn't , they just refuse to admit they had any fault and that is that. Very poor customer service, very poor. When they do great work they of coarse want everyone to know, but problems, sorry.....This is back to the principal of the thing. $300. is certainly fair for the work done, it is just that after a few months, 4, one shouldn't have to talk about any repairs to a $4600. floor. I have always liked their work in the past but not any more in the future. Save yourself some grief and work with a better company. read more

I had Kamal come by to give me a quote for flooring for my condo. At first I thought he was friendly and warm. Then I realized he was flirting with me and kept asking me on dates. I live alone and felt uncomfortable, but he made it look like he was giving me such a good deal. Turns out they inflate the pricing then drop it by 50% to lure sales. I was bated and hooked and completed the sale. When he left I felt worse and realized what just happened. I was manipulated and his flirting was wholly inappropriate. I cancelled my order and contacted the company to report his inappropriate behavior. They sent a female sales person, Keith, to redo the order. She was great! Eventually the sales manager called me to talk about my complaint; 5 days after I filed it. He was condescending and rude. Since I spoke to the manager, Keith has not followed up to complete the sales. In fact, I have received no follow up on my complaint or my potential order from anyone. It's been a week. I guess they want quick money, not good relationships with customers. Watch out for Kamal if he comes to your house. He is not knowledgeable, and uses charm and flirting to manipulate sales. read more

Though I love the tile, I'm disappointed in what I believe the cost is. We did not get a break down of the tile and the rugs we bought. There was an initial charge on our account. The tile was put in 3 business days before the rug. If that was the amount for the tile, it was much more expensive than we had planned on a 5'X5' area. Suggest in the future people ask for the breakdown of charges. read more

Hello My name is Ms. Valerie Mc Gregor. I am writing regarding Empire Today Carpet. I called them to have carpeting put in. They installed it. I had a one year warranty on the carpet. Two year's later my carpeting started buckling in several places. I called Empire Today to let them know that I was not satisfied with the carpet that I payed 2400.00 dollars for. The lady I spoke to said for me to shampoo the carpet, so I did. I called her back stating that I did shampoo the carpet and I still have bucking in the carpet. She then stated that she would send someone out to stretch the carpet for a fee of $147.35. I am not happy! Considering that I already paid $2400.00 for carpeting that should have already been stretched when laid. BEWARE if you are looking for carpet do not use EMPIRE CARPET. They advertise complete satisfaction. Very Dissatisfied Customer Ms. Valerie Mc Gregor read more

We have used Empire 3 times. Twice for carpet and once for vinyl. Their bids are always crazy high, so we get quotes from others first. They'll drop their price to meet the other bids. It was a pain to have to haggle over the prices, but we needed the convenience of their scheduling. The carpet installations were fine, but the vinyl was not. We were promised that there would be no seam. The salesman thought that the rolls were wider than they actually are, so we ended up with a really ugly seam right in front of our patio door. We began complaining the next day. They have sent people out to look at it twice, but we were told that they needed to speak to their bosses and will get back to us. They never have. I have spoken several times to customer service. They tell me someone will call me back, but they don't. I tried sending an e-mail to customer service on their website but the form doesn't work. It has been a couple years now that we've been looking at that seam. I'm wondering if their plan is to delay until after the year is up, then they don't need to honor their installation warranty. read more

I am very unhapppy with the service I received from Empire. I am remodeling my kitchen and dining area, and chose a hardwood flooring product. The product came into their warehouse over a month before I needed it, and on the installation day they showed up with an incomplete order, (would have been great if they took the time to check the order before leaving the warehouse)! Their policy did not allow them to install any of the product, and after receiving a call from the installation manager they were not going to be able to resolve the issue in time for my cabinets to be installed. I chose to cancel my order with them, and asked for a refund of my deposit! I am now using a local company to install my flooring, and will never use or recommend Empire again! read more

I would give them 0/5 stars if I could!! I scheduled an appointment to get an estimate done for carpet in my house. When the rep came, he was on time, friendly, and knowledge. The carpet was pretty pricey, but seemed to be a good deal for the quality. When we got done choosing the carpet, the rep told us our payments were $75 per month for 48 months. We thought that was doable. On the day of instalation, we got a call telling us that they didn't have the padding we ordered (7lb vapor barrier) in stock and they would "upgrade" us to the 8lb padding (without vapor barrier). We wanted the vapor barrier because we have animals. They told us if we Iwanted the vapor barrier, we would have to reschedule our instalation to a different date. Because my house was torn up and everything was off my floor and in my kitchen and bathroom, there was no way I was waiting another week to take another day off work. They said my only option was to accept the 8lb padding. I went ahead and had them install it. I found out later that the price of the padding was the exact same so it wasn't much of a compensation for them to put in the 8lb padding. I called and talked to the store manager and they said because they didn't have the correct padding, they will take $100 of the bill. To make matters even worst, my bill came in the mail the following month and it said I owed $106....not the $75 that I was quoted. I called empire again and they said that the $75 was just a rough estimate. I told them that that is not what I was quoted and that is a HUGE difference on an estimate. I told them how unhappy I was with not receiving the proper barrier I ordered and now am being charged over $25 what I was quoted. They said they will see what they could do and call me in a few days to let me know. At this point I am done with empire. I will never refer them to anyone and I am very unhappy with not receiving what I ordered and at the price I ordered it for. We will never again use Empire. read more

The product is good and the installers work their butts off. The problem is dispatch doesn't know their heads from their rears. We got both carpet and vinyl and there was no communication between the two. The vinyl installers showed up after the carpet guys and had to leave because they couldn't do both at the same time. So we rescheduled, my husband taking another day off work and they never called or showed up. After numerous calls to them, they told me no one was coming and we had to reschedule again. They promised us 8am arrival due to our trouble and the day came and again, no call, no show for hours. The installers finally showed up after 2pm. The job is done but we will not be repeat customers. read more

DONT USE THIS GROUP! The carpets had to be redone several times and its still terrible. They have set up warranty appointments for the last 3 months and nobody ever shows up. Will dispute this with Wells Fargo and let them handle this mess. read more

This company is a rip off. They start thier price twice the amount and you don't purchase anything, they call you the next day offering you 50% off and forcing you to purchase it from them. They have zero customer service. I would never recommend this company even to my enemies! read more

Needed to replace entire 2nd floor carpeting so got a bid from Home Depot first. they came, measured and gave a bid. I chose their premium carpet, lifetime warranty, etc... I thought I would give Empire carpet a bid so I scheduled for one. Sales person came in, measured and then gave me a bid that was over DOUBLE the cost of home depot!! When I broke the news on the home depot bid, the sales person immediately started putting down home depot and kept saying that their carpet was a different lower quality,etc....etc.and that they were better.... Frankly the carpet at home depot was better quality or same.. but double the cost!!. c'mon! He immediately got his manager on the phone and lowered it closer to home depot's cost. He could not explain to me why the initial markup in price to begin with?? Why give such a ridiculous price upfront and then lower to a competitor's price?? TERRIBLE business tactics.. Do yourself a favor and always get a second bid before going with Empire carpet. You might end up paying twice as much.. CANNOT understand how a business model stayed in business for so long! Imagine getting a quote for a car for $20K and after you tell them that the dealership down the road is selling for $10K the exact car, they say ok, I'll take $10K then!! Poor people that took the offer from them thinking that they were getting the best deal in town without checking out other stores... Be careful. read more

Absolutely the most ridiculous estimate I think I have EVER heard! I should have seen the red flag in the beginning. I call and make my appt. My house is completely vacant because I am doing renovations. They said between 11-1. I show up out of my own time and while there I get a phone call at 12:52...your rep won't make it today can we reschedule for tomorrow. I hesitated then he offered me $50 credit. Ok fine reschedule. Then I get a call the next day an hour before the appt, once again my rep wouldn't be able to make it. They decide to send another person out. I made it clear I did not have anyone specifically in mind, just send someone. So that someone shows up. 1 star for being on time (and because I can't give 0 stars) Salesman comes in and I say here is the existing LAMINATE, I want a quote for this room only to try and match my existing LAMINATE. (Please take note I'm capitalizing for a reason) he shows me two books. Ok sure this one matches a little, what's the price? He measures...good on those since I have the blueprints to my house I knew he wasn't trying to BS. He comes back with a quote of almost 5k. Wait what? 5k?? Did I miss something? 5k for 300sq ft of LAMINATE??? Is this for real? iThen I got the warranty, our special laminate, no better product crap. Dude I'm sorry I didn't hear what you just said because I'm still trying to process what was just said to me about it being 5k. Oh well also ours doesn't have to acclimate. I don't give a crap!! I'm not going to waste 4k (I had previously got a quote from a very reputable in every city company for 1k) The salesman was nice and took my shock in stride, and understood everyone has a budget. I can't complain about him he was very friendly. But there is no way I would EVER recommend this company to anyone. Not even my enemies. Seriously. read more

Empire is supposed to be the low price good job service is what I got. I got quoted $52,000 and with a 30% discount $28,000 he said. Home Depot quoted me $15,000 for the exact same work but with way better quality "life proof" material at Home Depot and they offer a life time warranty. Empire offers a one year warranty and charges $18,000 over the best service you can get with amazing reviews at Home Depot. I should of listened to there bad reviews before I waisted my time. Not only that but there super unprofessional, they don't even give you the quote page to compare quotes he said we don't give you that I'll just tell you it's 28,000 and you can figure it out from there. After waisting 2 hours of my time. I would never recommend this place but let everyone know how they over charge and there rude. read more

Empire is nothing but a big rip off company. I could give them negative stars if I can. I used them when I bought my house, when I call they send me a really new sales person and she knows nothing and not helpful at all, then she have to call the manager over to my house to make sure all the measurements, ok then when come to the install day, the install team come to my house and said the hardwood I chose can't work on my floor, Coz I need a nail down floor but the wood I chose is a floating floor. I'm like WTF, are you kidding me, here is how I learn the people they send it to me is helpless and no knowledge about hardwood floor at all.then I have send the install team back and call the sale people again and this time she have to call another sales people to bring other samples. Coz she forgot to put the sample in her car. How wonderful is that. And they said the new one I picked is more expensive then before. The install team did a really good job, but the hardwood floors quality is shit. They told me I could walk on it with high hills and won't leave a mark, it's really strong wood, I never wear hills and I wear indoor slippers at home, now it's only a year, I got scratches，chip and crack. I'm never using them again and I do not recommend anybody using them. You can watch them on tv over and over again. But don't get brain washed like I did. They are lot more reasonable price and quality company out there. read more

Empire Today - Carpet Installation Near Me

See all

Contacted Empire Today to put new carpet in my house during the 60% off sale. Sales lady was nice enough. Quote was very overpriced in comparison to other suppliers, and she wouldn't give me any of the info that got her to the quote (e.g. square foot cost of carpet, installation cost). I was able to negotiate the price being reduced by over $1000, making it in line with competitors. I did have to agree to have a sign in my yard for two weeks. Carpet was installed a few days later and looks good. More nicks in the freshly painted walls than I would prefer, but it's easily fixable. Will probably go elsewhere next time where I don't have to negotiate, have more selection, and are given all the info that goes into the quote. read more

After writing my initial review, the company did agree to come and fix the problems. However, they did not restretch the carpet as I had hoped, but merely spent 15 minutes using a knee kicker to stretch spots here and there. Now, a year later, the carpet is rippling in more areas now, and looks worse all the time. The carpet I had hoped would last us 10 - 15 years will not even make it to 5 years without needing replacement. Highly dissatisfied with this company. read more

Very frustrating to work with! Fine if all you need to do is have them carpet a square room but DO NOT order carpet runners for your stairs from Empire. After a month and a half of waiting, numerous unanswered messages, and multiple bogus "automated" installation dates, I finally found out they never had the carpet sent to the binding company and they would need to come back out to remeasure. And my loyal rep, James/Tony -- not sure which is his real name -- the one I could count on for anything and could contact day or night, totally vanished when I needed him most! When I finally got Empire to agree to cancel my order and refund my money, they did not follow through. It took me disputing the charge through my credit card company to get them to FINALLY process my refund...two months after they initially agreed to do so. I would never use this company again for any type of carpeting needs based on how they treat their customers. read more

It's been quite a hassle dealing with Empire Today, which started right after the sale was completed. Our sales rep was friendly and not pushy at all, however, the 50% off sale is a joke. It has become all too common for businesses to make you think you're getting a deal by marking up the price up beyond MSRP and then putting it on 'sale' for what you should actually be paying from the start. Empire Today has embraced this shady practice. Seeing as how the estimate came in right around others we had been given anyway, we went ahead with completing the sale. Then the problems begin. We receive a call 2 days prior to the laminate is to be installed saying that they are out of stock and asked if we would like the sales rep to come back out so we could pick something else. We had our hearts set on another brand, but it wasn't on 'sale', so we asked to get that at the same price we were quoted for the one we had picked. Our sales rep said she had to call her manager. After no calls back, we remind the sale rep of our request and it finally gets approved.GREAT! The installer showed up late on the day of the install. We were told initially between 7-9 am. At 10 we call and are told noon. At 1pm we call back again and are told between 2-3pm. The installers finally showed up at 3pm. Since they arrived so late, they were not able to complete the job. They came back the next morning and worked through the day to finish the job, except the installer did not have the correct full height baseboards we had selected. He told us it was not on his work order. We have made several calls to get this corrected and it is STILL a work in progress. We are being told they can't get someone out here to install the baseboards until the END OF THE MONTH!? That's 3 weeks away! I don't understand how this could possibly be. It should be a relatively quick job to complete and Empire, YOU SCREWED THIS UP, so you should make it a top priority to FIX IT! We are still waiting for our carpet to be installed as well. I am skeptical that will go without some sort of issue at this point. Bottom line is Empire Today does not seem to put a priority on customer service. Communication between the sales reps, managers, and installers seems disjointed. I can't say that I would refer this company to a friend. I CAN say I would refer the installers that did our laminate. Although they were late, they did an excellent job and really seemed to care about the quality of their work. #UPDATE 8/14 - Day of Carpet install. As I expected, we have problems. First off, they were late. Then we are told our stairs were not included on the work order!!! Clearly this is a miscommunication between the Sales rep and the warehouse as the stairs were the main reason we were replacing the carpet to begin with!!!! Our sales rep is no longer with the company so we have no help and are dealing with Empire's rude customer service representatives which simply state "It's not on the work order, we will need to send someone out to take measurements". When said I did not want to be charged for the error we are told "We aren't going to do your stairs for free". Free??? I paid several thousand dollars to have the job completed. At this point we are waiting for the manager 'Ashley' to call us back. What a huge hassle! Dropping to one star, wish I could give zero stars. #UPDATE 8/15 - Not sure if it was Yelp or contacting our sales rep Keith, who even though is no longer with the company she called us back! Ashley calls shortly thereafter and initially says we need to pay for the labor on the stairs. Then a short time later she calls back saying she isn't going to charge us. In the end Ashley made it right, however, reaching her was not easy and dealing with Empire's 'support' was getting us nowhere. The carpet install looks great, but I still can't recommend this company after this experience. #UPDATE 8/16 - I just noticed I have been charged $200 more than what is stated on my contract. Called support and the ticket has been escalated. My guess is they are trying to sneak in a charge for either the stairs or the baseboards. read more

They started off good with the sales person getting to our house on time. She was very helpful coming up with options within our price range. We settled on carpet laminate & baseboard and got dates for install all set up for just a few days later. Then things started to go down hill from there. We received a confirmation that the install was set and we just needed to call to confirm. When we called to confirm they didn't have us set up for the dates we had asked for so then we had to sit on the phone for 40+ minutes trying to figure out what happened. The call ended in them saying they would make the original dates happen even if they had to work on it through the night (ya riiight). The next day was suppose to be laminate install day we called to make sure it was on only to be told they arent coming and someone had set our installs for different dates? Now we had taken vacation days for nothing and the dates set would not work with my wife and my work schedules so now we have a house ready for the install with stuff piled in rooms and bathrooms and we now have to wait 3 weeks for the final phase of the install instead of 1 week. To make it worse we contacted the sales lady to see what happened and she starts off the conversation saying "I know its probably not your fault but" I know its not our fault because we didn't change anything your company did!!! So after that conversation we called to find out who made the changes without contacting us first and found out it was our sales lady!!! We now are by-passing her and working straight with the scheduler. We also were told we would receive a call the next day (yesterday) to confirm new dates and discuss some kind of comp. for our inconvenience and of course so far we have not received a call. I am very unimpressed with the professionalism of this company so far! We have probably spent over 2 hours on the phone with them mostly on hold and we still haven't got anything installed. I am just keeping my fingers and toes crossed that the product and their work is better then what I have received so far from them. Our house has been taken a part and ready for install for over 3 weeks now because of Empires screw up in the scheduling dept. The laminate was finally installed on July 3rd (originally scheduled for June 21st) and the installers were great. They were fast and friendly and did great work. Then we had to wait until the July 18th to do the carpet install which was done yesterday. Again the installers were great. The baseboards were scheduled to be finished today but once again Empire has screwed up and didn't schedule anyone because they said we told them the baseboards had been done??? Why would we tell them they had been done when they haven't??? We now have taken 2 days soon to be a 3rd day off of work for no reason because of Empires scheduling screw ups!! We told them to get someone out today but they said they couldn't pull anyone off a job, but its perfectly fine to inconvenience us to have to take another day off work so they can come tomorrow!!! Empires installers are great and their product is nice but their customer service is terrible and very unorganized!!! And don't be fooled by who ever supposedly answers these reviews. We have yet to be contacted by anyone from empire and have not been offered any kind of compensation for all their screw-ups and the inconveniences they have caused us. This job was suppose to be done on July 3rd. Its currently July 18 and we still waiting for this to be completed. I will never recommend anyone to use Empire read more

Unfortunately, for them they sent out an inept sales person that was a new hire and he had no clue. We ended up being disappointed in the quality of our carpeting. The carpet and padding ended up being overly thin and whatever they used for padding feels like sawdust. Will never use this company..Made an appointment for an estimate between 1-3pm. I am very disappointed by my recent carpet installation. I have had the carpet not even 3 months and there are currently 2 whole from snags that I can only assume happened during installation. I called to have them come out and when the crew was sent they didn't have the carpet to repair the holes. I had to call again and request someone come out. The gal on the phone blamed my vacuum and recommend I buy a new one to prevent this happening. I asked how a vacuum could tear the carpet and she feels the beater bar is tearing the carpet up. First, my vacuum is a very low suction apt vacuum that has never torn the previous carpet. I am VERY upset that the go to problem is my vacuum. After arguing the quality of my carpet they finally agreed to send someone to "rethread" the holes. I admitted that I am VERY concerned about the future of the carpet if I am having these problems 3 months in on a product said to last 10 years, read more

Do not use this company!! Wish I would've read reviews before installing carpet throughout out 3200 sq ft home. They rushed installation and now 3 years later we have seam lines and bunching in every room because they do not install carpet properly. om my first communication with Empire Today it has been nothing short of stellar all around I scheduled an in home quote - was super easy on line and got email confirming - The sales person Judy Namet was scheduled for a 1p-3p and she called me around 1130am to let me know she was running early and could she come sooner if not inconvenient. WOW! early? what a concept !! and so appreciated the head's up call. She arrived within 30 minutes as promised and brought a whole bunch of flooring samples and carpeting samples - we looked thru them and I was having a hard time deciding on floor color and type and she was so helpful and patient. then she measured and worked up a more than fair quote for the work I needed - was slightly more for engineered hardwood compared to quotes I got for laminate! We placed the order and scheduled install for following week! no waiting for anything! Install was reconfirmed and they arrived right on schedule! There was a little confusion as to the kitchen being on the order - spoke to 800 customer service who were super helpful, and left message for Judy who called back and all was resolved in no time! Judy even called later in the day to check on the progress as did the customer service person. The installers worked solid from about 930am to 7pm on day one and day two started at 830am and were done by 2pm - Vincent and Ruslan were awesome! They were very clean, and cleaned as they went and made sure all was cleaned up before leaving and that I was satisfied with the outcome. They were so nice, professional and kind when I asked questions - and they did an AMAZING job- my house looks like a new home - it is incredible !! So on a scale of 1-10 I would give this a 12 ! for every single part of it !! I highly recommend EmpireToday and ask to work with Judy Namet because she is really wonderful - Thank you read more

Very unprofessional company. I was supposed to have tile placed in my bathrooms and laundry room. I confirmed our appointment for June 6th and 7th. The installer called at 9:30 and cancelled the installation because he didn't want to do it. Now we are not hearing from Empire and they give us the run around when we call. read more

I have to say that we were VERY hesitant to work with Empire, given all the horrible reviews. But we needed the job done quickly and at a good price. We have some friends who used them 3 or 4 times and said it was fine,so we thought we'd give it a try. Luckily for us our expectations were blown out of the water starting with Mike Brame, the sales guy we worked with. He was amazing !!!! Honest, helpful, took the time we needed and delivered on every promise. We met with him on a Friday afternoon - by Monday our carpet was installed and by Tuesday the vinyl flooring went in. Even the installers were great - we were very surprised. I think that it all boils down to your salesperson and Mike is the best - highly recommend him: 425-922-2772. read more

We ordered new carpet for our whole house. It was desperately needed! We thought their discount was a good deal. We have a three bedroom home, over 1800 sq ft. The ad said next day installation. But they told us they couldn't replace our carpet for 2 weeks. We agreed that would be okay, and took time off from work to be home. I was 8 months pregnant, but my husband and I had to move our furniture. The house was clear for the guys come in to work. Two young guys, maybe late teens to early twenty's show up with a van. The one guy starts to unload the van and said they are missing some of our carpet. So one guy stays behind to start the job, while the other guy leaves in the van to pick up the rest of our carpet. The one guy worked really quick to tear out the old carpet, but when the other guy comes back he said they were behind schedule. The two of them slapped our new carpet down, cutting it wrong. It was too short on our stairs and rolls on the living room floor for having too much. It looked like crap! All that said we paid over $6,000 for the new carpet. We will not recommend this company or order from them again. read more

Had someone come out and measure for window treatments after seeing on line they have 50% off discount. Gal shows up and couldn't do one area due to location. Had to call supervisor for price and got 35% discount, still way too high. Called back week later and I said I was still looking, then offered another similar blind for $400.00 cheaper. Then a few days later got postcard in the mail to call them for an even better price. Went with another company that was $900 less and able to do all the windows I wanted done. read more

This company has just been a nightmare to work with. The only good thing I could say about it would be the sales guy Matt was nice. We are replacing carpet in two rooms and vinyl in the kitchen. When Matt came out he scheduled the carpet for yesterday the 23rd and the kitchen for 9/13. So to make a very very long story short I will just list the things that went wrong. Scheduled at 1pm-3pm showed up at 5pm My husband had to take the day off to try to move the appliances because they charge 240.00 if they do it, no mind you we had help to move them on 9/13. Arrived at 5 at 7 they had only moved the refrigerator and then one of them went to get food and the sat in their truck and ate for over 30 minutes. When they finally came back in told my husband they didn't bring enough vinyl but that they could lay it if we didn't want it to lay parallel to the appliances like it is supposed to and he said it would have 3 seams. And last but not least when they finally decided to actually work they told my husband they don't take the molding off the wall when the install carpet even tho our sales rep told us they would. So if you are looking for flooring I would strongly think about looking somewhere else. read more

The sales person I spoke with was very knowledgeable and friendly. I was having carpet replaced in our family room in Pacific, WA however I currently live in Tucson. The sales person was able to text me pictures of various carpet styles and colors which helped. Similar to another post I just read, they called a few days before to confirm our appointment which was made a week and a half after I paid for the carpet. Later that same day they called back to say they had no one available to do the install. I also have a renter who rearranged his schedule to be home that day. My renter did not tell me this until I called on the day of installation to see how it went and found out what he had been told and that they could not do it any time that week but had to wait another week to get it done. So I called customer service who took all the information down and said a local manager would call me the next morning. That never happened so I called again and spoke to a manager who apologized saying they sometimes don't know until the day before that they would not have someone available. He then offered me $75 credit for the missed appointment. A week later, I still have not seen that money. They did come out yesterday after I called again to customer service because this time no one had called to confirm the appointment. The carpet and installation does look nice, so I will give them three stars for the product, actual installation job and sales person. Customer service I would not give even one star. If you use Empire, be prepared to not have them show up as stated. read more

We went with Empire Today because our salesperson (GhostStar M.) was very knowledgeable and helped us find the perfect new flooring for a household with a lot of animals, and at a decent price too! We couldn't be happier with our new floors! read more

I've used Empire for several flooring and window blind jobs. I've always been happy with the speed and efficiency with which Empire provided a free estimate and set up the installation. My sales rep, Ghost Star, was very knowledgable and helped me make choices on the best type of flooring and the best look for my home. On the latest project Empire had to set up a second installation due to a complication, and it was handled professionally. I was fully satisfied. read more

Dropping one star because their website advertised a half priced deal for installing hardwoods. The price ends up being what you would get anywhere else. That said, when you go with a big company like this you are at the whim of if the contractor they hired is worth their salt. This time we got lucky. The guy showed up in an unmarked white van and we were worried at first because we have been burned in the past with poor work from contractors for Redi International (never use!) for a pest problem. But not this time! Really happy with the small contractor who went out of his way to make sure our engineered hardwood floors were installed well and in two days. Job well done. (I know that is not always the case with Empire Today as the reviews show. But I think most the problems are with the other sides of the business. They seem to hire good folks to do wood floors, which is a more technical job.) read more

I had this company replace the carpeting on my entire second floor. I dealt directly with the manager. The carpet was installed in Federal Way. The manager insisted in my paying for the entire job in advance. He assured me that any problems would be taken care of. The carpet was installed, but they refused to haul away the old carpet. The said it smelled. This carpet was down for 15 years, what did they think it was going to smell like! We had to get a junk man to haul it away at a COST OF 260.00! THEIR WORD IS NO GOOD! DO NOT HAVE THEM DO ANY WORK FOR YOU! read more

I wish I could give ZERO stars. We had an appointment for the carpet to be stretched on July 3rd to correct their lousy installation. Supposed to be between 8-12. Phone call that they'd be there at 1. At 2:30 I'm getting panicked phone calls & texts from my tenants that they still aren't there. It's a holiday weekend and they rearranged their plans to be there for someone that couldn't bother to show up and couldn't bother to call. Then we rescheduled for the 11th and the only sent ONE person, who could not do the job alone. Now, they want $250 to fix their lousy installation. This is the poorest customer service EVER. Empire, you lost a repeat customer. So again, RUN !!!! RUN FAST, RUN FAR !!!! DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE read more

This company is so unprofessional! I cannot believe I have been waiting 3 months now to receive my "referral" gift card. What a bunch of crooks! I will never and I mean NEVER refer this company to anyone I know ever again! Not only did I refer my parents because they loved the work in my house but the sales woman they got was completely rude! Brought her DOG to their house on a HOT summer day and left in her car. My mother felt so bad for the thing she told the lady to bring the dog in. The sales woman was pushy with her. After she left my mom decided she wanted a different color for the 3.5in border. The sales woman told her she'd have to drive from Marysville to Burien to pick it out because she wasn't going to drive all the way back to her house. For someone who is spending close to 9 grand re-doing all of their floors they can take the hour to drive back! I will be contacting their corporate office on MONDAY. I have called the company 3 times now inquiring about the gift card and keep getting the run around and now it's the middle of december. They are not going to like me come first thing monday morning that is for sure. DO NOT USE EMPIRE TODAY!!!!!!!!!! read more
