In 2012, I had my kitchen flooring done. The main reason for our flooring was due to pet urine. Let's just say the sales rep was not the greatest. The installers who came in were wonderful, did everything and more! I got a quote for my dining, kitchen, and living room. I ended up only getting my kitchen, dining due to the high price. I got a call from a customer service rep saying they could lower the price. I'm not quite sure how much my price was lowered, but it was a significantly big amount. Other than the sales rep, this experience was good.
A couple weeks ago, we scheduled a free in-home estimation. I was amazed by how great the sales rep was, but after placing the order, everything went down hill. We were getting new carpet and LVT due to pet urine. The sales rep saw our dogs, did the estimation, measurements; therefore she knows how bad our carpet is. She asked if we wanted both carpet and LVT installed at the same time or if we wanted them broken up into two days. We chose two days, because she had suggested that it might be easier that way. She also suggested that we could pull up the carpet and padding, and go buy "kilz" to apply on our flooring (to make it easier for the installers). Why would I do that if i'm paying for installation anyway?! And the installers who did my kitchen, did everything. So she said, ok well then if they did it last time, you should be ok. Our original insallation date for carpet was 10/5. The sales rep calls early in the morning, and says she is sorry, but she put the order in too late. STRIKE 1! So we re-scheduled for 10/12, in which she said we would get everything installed (don't forget the fact that this was an option she gave us in the beginning). On 10/12 we receive a call saying we are only getting our carpet installed (had to re-schedule my LVT for 10/19), STRIKE 2! When the installers (who looked unprofessional) arrive, I tell them that we have "kilz" just in case they need it. They say ok, and proceed with the installation. They rip out all our carpet, then come and say "we can not do your upstairs, because of the pet urine. Your floors are too wet. I need you to pull the padding and apply "kilz", then we will be able to install your carpet." What kind of BS company makes you do half the work!?!?!?! I call the customer service # and they just told me how my carpet has fleas (which I don't know how they were able to see that just by looking at the carpet), so they couldn't take it due to the safety of other customers. You're a carpet company! You should have a procedure for this kind of issue! I am not the first customer who has their carpet done due to pet issues! I was stuck with no carpet for 3 days! How inconvenient. They are scheduled to finish my
carpet on 10/15, we will see how that goes. Don't forget that I still have my LVT installation for 10/19!
Due to all this inconvenience...I should be refunded for the half the installation and given some kind of discount! My sales rep only offered my a $150 discount! Pathetic! I called and told them if that's all they could do for me, I will take my business else where!
I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND EMPIRE TODAY TO ANYONE! I will never forget this experience. read more
