I have been a customer of Empire Today for over 16 years and this is my 4th floor installation. On 11/10/2025, I entered into a contract for luxury vinyl plank flooring, following a consultation where concerns about subfloor unevenness were discussed and assurances were provided. Installation began on 12/11/2025 after a delay due to inventory issues. The flooring was installed improperly, including placement over wet leveling material, resulting in significant defects such as uneven surfaces exceeding 1/8", gaps between planks, damaged boards, improper cuts, broken planks, and areas of instability. Repairs attempted on 12/16/2025 were incomplete and created additional problems, including a 1-1/8" height variance that presents a safety hazard. On 12/30/2025, an installation manager inspected the floors and verbally disputed the defects. The installation manager would only acknowledge me and not my husband. The installation manager was seen bending a straight edge to manipulate the 1-1/8" hump on the floor. The house was completely empty, including the toliets. I had to reschedule the granite counter tops installation and appliance delivery to for after the unsuccessful repair job. Since then, multiple repair appointments have resulted in no-shows, cancellations without consent, and continued incomplete work. I requested the original installer not be sent back out for anymore future repairs, but was sent out again without my knowledge. The flooring remains defective and is showing signs of failure despite minimal use, and the manufacturer warranty has been compromised due to improper installation. read more

This upcoming September will be two years since we had flooring installed. Called a week ago about a plank the was poping up. As of today they called back and stated that the warranty was only good for a year despite the contract saying its a five year warranty. Quoted almost 300 dollars to reattach the plank with our own material. The flooring system for a normal living room and small bedrooms was 8k. After spending an hour on hold I was hung up on when talking After the woman answered who I swear was asleep and I bothered her calling. Got installers to come in once after two months of new carpet and they did a patch work job on the carpet and I was told to cut it where it's coming apart and not to replace it. If I could give negative starts I would. Floor was installed and within a few months it started to warp and curl upwards. I had to pay $175 for the same installer to come out lick a probe, stick it near the floor and tell me it was water damage. No pipes anywhere near the area. He then said it's the heat of the sun through the glass. I said that sounds like a manufactures issue. He then quoted $6k to replace an 8x8 area. I told him to leave. A few weeks later a board actually pops up and there I find the insulation instruction manual lined up all the way from the HVAC vet down the damaged area. It allowed just enough space for the cold air to travel under the floor and warm up by the sun which then warped the floor. When I called back and told them what I found they said it was too late to fix... life time warranty my ass... and they refuse to acknowledge the installation tech was a con artist. Empire Today installed LVP in my master bedroom. The Flooring Consultant, James Dion, was wonderful! Very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful! The Flooring Installers, Edwin and Armando, were nice as well. They worked carefully and quickly and were done before the estimated finish time. I love the flooring itself. However, once they were finished, they said and showed me an air bubble in the flooring. Edwin stated it would flatten out over time. However, 24 hours later and seeing the size of the air bubble, I am very concerned that the bubble will not flatten out. I've reached out to Empire Today and they've stated someone will reach out to me between 1 - 3 business days (it's Labor Day weekend), so we will see what happens when they call back. read more

I called Empire back out as I wanted to have the carpet made into area rugs, to which I was provided a contact for the commercial side, where I purchased several sizes and put down a deposit. In the meantime, the sales team that came out convinced me to have the same carpet installed in two bedrooms and a den. When the installation date came, the installer advised that they could not put the carpet over the current flooring (which was not disclosed during the sale) After a couple of hours of back and forth (which is beyond ridiculous), we ended up agreeing to get the carpet set and bound into area rugs for the three rooms. Less than a week later, the installers arrived with the finished area rugs, and we were good to go. I kept following up on the commercial side since they took a deposit, and no one would provide me with any information. After an email I sent informing them that it had been 10 days without a response, I received an email stating, "Unfortunately, we will not be able to fulfill this order. Sorry for the inconvenience. Best regards, Julie" I have sent several follow-up emails to all known email addresses (including customer service and support) and have not received a response. I offered to lower the order if they couldn't accommodate what they put in writing, and I have still not received a response even though they have NOT returned my deposit. The installation manager called to inform us that the carpet was located, and they were working on the order. There's a reason for so many poor reviews. AVOID THIS COMPANY. First of all, they work the "used car salesman" approach of "buy now or this price will be gone" and the "Oh, let me call my manager and force him to give a better price." It's absurd. For me, the estimate was a massive waste of time. I told the estimator I was colorblind and needed others to make choice on carpet. He completely ignored that and kept showing me samples. He came up with a quote that was 40% over the other estimates when the others were bidding for carpet and LVP. This was just for carpet. So the "buy now" is important for them as once they leave, they know you'll soon discover they are grossly overcharging. They didn't even bother contacting me or sending an estimate after the appointment. So yeah, buyer beware. You will pay far more for far less value. read more

We've put new carpet in every house we've ever owned (and every childhood home I lived in as a matter of fact) and never have we had the issues we've had with this carpet. After much back and forth with your company and the inspector agreeing that there's an issue, your corporate office has made the decision that it's not your problem. If you want a company that has POOR customer service and does not stand by their warranty then this is the flooring company for you! We had high end carpet and padding installed in Dec. 2022 and the seams are coming apart and very visible. We have tried calling their customer service only to be told we will get a call back in 24 hours. NO ONE CALLS BACK. We have called at least twice a week if not more for the past four months with no resolve. THe hard flooring we had put down looks great, so far. However, the installers left red chalk all over our white sofa and when we went our to the garage, we noted they had drug our oven/stove out to the garage and was using it as a sawhorse. THe glass stop has deep scratches all over it. We were told to get a quote on the stove and to get the sofa cleaned and they would pay us back. Guess what? AGAIN - no return call, no money paid to us for the repairs. Again, we call several times a week and no one comes out, no one calls back, no one emails, and nothing happens. We have contacted our attorney. It is sad to have over 15,000 worth of flooring and no one to back up their product. read more

To say I would not recommend Empire Today would be an understatement. What should have been a one day project, has now turned into two and they want it to be three. Why? Because they didn't send their crews out with the proper tools to complete the job of removing hardwood flooring and definitely not enough of them to accomplish the job in an acceptable amount of time. Our home looks like a tornado came through it with our furniture and belongings everywhere, not to mention about 1/4 of concrete dust from where they are removing the hardwood and chipping the concrete underneath. Not to mention they broke a tile during the installation and tried to tell me it is because there wasn't enough backing under it ... instead of it was hit with a hammer by accident. While their installation manager was very cordial and apologetic, he offered no solutions other than the crew would stay until late tonight to complete the job ... a job that should have already been completed yesterday and now will have them in our home until late tonight. At this point, I feel the job should be discounted 50% just for the mess and frustration, but I don't see that happening. It is ok, we can talk through attorneys about that after the new year. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend using them for ANYTHING!!! The carpet isn't any better quality (actually probably worse) than you can buy at Home Depot and have installed for probably 1/4 of what they are charging ... and you would have it done quickly and without a mess to clean up after. Only reason it got 2 stars is because of the instalation guys (sub contracted) they were great. The problem was from the sales to the scheduling to the execution.... I was apparently sold a product that was not in stock, mind you I paid half up front but was not told it was out of stock. I was told that it would be installed on a certain date, they called to reschedule a day before the installation... moving all my furniture and everyone out of there rooms for over a week is very inconvenient.... all because they decided to reschedule last minute and sell me a product that was out of stock. They promised me a possible discount/refund of partial but that never happened. They dont care about their customers or care about the inconvenience they cause because of their mistakes. On top of that all they will try to sneak on a "warranty plan" for almost $500! Luckily the contract says I can cancel that within 60days. Go get multiple quotes and find another company. Will not recommend or use for the rest of my home. Also hopefully the carpet holds up, can't judge the quality yet, because it is brand new, we will see in a couple months. read more

We experienced some of the worst customer service in our lifetime when dealing with Empire Today. I should've known from the name that nothing good ever came from Empires. I have listed the detailed reasons below why Empire will never step back into my home even if that price dropped to $0: 1. The salesman that came to our home was text book definition sleazy. When we thanked him and instructed him that we were going to find a second quote, he was pushy and rude. He didn't respect our need for a second quote and literally wouldn't budge from our kitchen when we insisted that we wanted a second quote ! 2. He kept saying he was offering the best price in the world (which we found out was a lie). How could he possibly know what the entire world was up to? SMH Empires..... He hyped the company up and even did the whole "call my boss" routine (as I'm sure he is trained to do). We later found out that several companies offer much lower deals for the same beautiful work (even lower than that $1400 you just offered). 3. We showed him our floor and told him about how the current moisture had warped the boards. He SAW the damage but PROMISED us Empire could fix it easily. The installation team came into our home, looked at the floor and literally laughed. They were the only part of Empire that seemed to want to be honest with us. They told us that because of the moisture our laminate would just warp again and the warranty would be void. Now why would the salesman so boldly lie? 4. We decided to cancel with you all because we were tired of waiting for new floors. But do you think yall made canceling easy? Y'all...did...not! First yall sent me this "modified contract" that was not a cancellation contract so I had to call to get things handled. You know who I spoke with? Another sleazy individual (I'm starting to notice a pattern at this point). 5. I asked for the cancellation and his reply was "well............why are you cancelling?! Let's talk about that first!" Sir, I simply want to cancel first, but of course Empires don't respect boundaries. I finally gave him the details of my reason for cancellation and you think this would've been enough but it wasn't. He told me, in a less than pleasant tone, to "stay on the line. If you hang up nothing gets canceled". I had to wait for 20 minutes before he came back and told me my contract was canceled! 6. So much time was wasted and boundaries not respected. The process was exhausting. With that being said, I would rather walk upon the floors of hell barefoot than to ever accept Empire's laminate floors. I'd rather walk across the valley of death, a sea of glass, or a desert of fire before letting Empire touch my floor. I will actually go out of my way to ensure people know about my experience so they never have to feel that level of discomfort and disrespect. Seven years ago we had luxury vinyl plank installed in the whole house. They did not do the installation correctly, and a few months later they had to replace everything because the planks were sliding. That installation was also not done correctly and the planks slid again. Although we had a 15 year warranty, they said I would have to get a certified flooring inspector to determine if the product was defective and then pay Empire again to install it. As it turned out, they used the incorrect type of float, which cracked. The planks were also installed over wet float (without any pad), so color leached into the float. I had to have it sledgehammered out, the float replaced and levelled, and the flooring replaced by another company. Don't do business with Empire! read more

Empire Today Had LVP installed in our house a little over a year ago. Prior to installation, They checked the moisture in our "Sub Floor" which we only have concrete. Once it was ok for them to install the flooring, we were never asked if we wanted a moisture barrier put down first. If we had been asked we would have said yes. Now the floor is warping, boards are loose, it's a disaster. They said the only thing they could do would be to get it all up, put down a moisture barrier and charge us over $23,000. We paid about that much to have it installed in the first place. Do not EVER do business with them. I will be messaging all of their executives individually about this. The flooring also pops when you walk on it. Desired outcome: I need them to come fix it all with a moisture barrier for free. We were never advised we could have one put down. read more

If I could give them a negative star rating I would!! I feel so taken advantage of. We put in new carpets in every bedroom when we moved into this house less than 2 years ago. Last October I had to call Bc we needed a restretch of the carpet upstairs. Now it's happening in our master bedroom downstairs but I was told, even with the protection plan we paid $629 for, the claim is denied because it only covers one stretch per term is the plan. This means that since we had the upstairs restretched last year, we cannot have any other room restretched unless we pay out of pocket for it. The fact that I'm even having to call less than two years after install to have the carpet restretched should be a red flag to everyone. I called and asked for a refund of my protection plan (since it apparently covers nothing) and they said they can only give me $85 back if I cancel, even though there are 3 years remaining on the plan. Please do yourselves a favor and look anywhere but here. I'm hoping karma will take care of them moving forward. read more

The salesman was very misleading. He told us that the installers would move all the furniture, we would just need to like disconnect the washing machine and dryer and disconnect the water line to the refrigerator. He never said we would have to disassemble all of the beds and he told us that for the stand-alone sauna the installer would try to move it or if I instructed them how to disassemble it, that they would. Also one of his selling points was that unlike other flooring companies, the installer were Empire employees and that they don't use third party contractors to do the installation. Well the day that the installer showed up to do the downstairs, they refused to even touch the sauna. I also found out when the supervisor called me to to explain why they would not touch it, she concluded to tell me that as a third party contractor, they don't what to be liable for any damages to the sauna or the installed floors. And that Empire will not compensate them if anything should happen. They did break the glass on or wine refrigerator, and they were haggling over covering the damage. The upstairs carpet installation was also a nightmare. The carpet has a toxic smell and I asked about the smell and the third party contractor told me it will likely go away in about 3 months. We had to take all of the beds apart and they moved the furniture all over the place. The carpet installers were supposed to at our house in the morning, they didn't show up until around 4:00pm and they didn't leave until around 10:00pm. The next day they showed up around 10:00am to finish the carpet and install the baseboards. They were starting on the baseboards but it started to rain, so I understand that it is dangerous to continue to work on the baseboards, but they took down the ones they started to put up because they told me that we would have to reschedule the baseboards but he is not guaranteed that he would be the ones to come back to do the baseboards and that Empire will not compensate them of the work on the baseboards they started to install. Two days later the same third party contractor came to do the baseboards, they showed up around 11:00pm and installed the baseboards and finished around 5:00pm. They were loading up the compressor and the miter saw in their truck and I assumed they would come back to move all the furniture back. But they just left me with all of the furniture piled up in the middle of the rooms for me to put them back. If I could leave them ZERO stars I would and I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

If you ever want to get your flooring done, avoid Empire. They installed ours December 2019 and they came out twice within the first year for uneven flooring and a transitional plank popping up. Last week another transitional piece popped up, a transitional molding popped up and a corner literally started PEELING. Our house is low traffic, with just my husband and I. The only other thing going over that section of the flooring is a Shark Vac a couple of times a week. I've been arguing with them back and forth and they want us to pay $125 for them to come out and re-glue the pieces and replace the peeling one. They don't consider a glue job lasting a whopping two years defective (?!) so they won't take care of it otherwise. The manufacturer LIFETIME warranty only applies to the planks themselves, not the molding that the manufacturer also provides. This is luxury vinyl that was sold to us as sturdy and warrantied. It's not about the money, if we had damaged something on our own we'd have no problem paying for repair. Was concerned about credit usage after just buying a new house, blinds, etc. Could we please just check financing before? Big fat no. Took 30 more minutes to get a decline from one credit option with nothing else to offer. Salesman ask why I did not do their online credit application. I still do, but they said that it was the right product. They told me that the sample had fine print saying expect light to dark color planks. I didn't read that nor did Mark the sales rep warn me. Do not choose their products without seeing a box/carton of the product. My product was not even in the same ballpark as the sample I was shown. After install we discovered wall damage, furniture dented, parts missing and a lamp snapped in half. I can get over a bit of damage but when trying to work with customer service on the items not even usable anymore, they claimed that missing parts are our responsibility. The parts were there before install and not afterwards. I am livid. I am 6 months pregnant, was told last minute we were required to disassemble beds and then they some how lost a piece and are saying it's my fault. I don't know that I could have removed the part if I had tried. it was very securely attached to the frame and not removed for disassembly. how the heck is this company getting g away with this stuff!?!
