Emperor's Palace is definitely my family's go to for a wonderful Chinese meal! For starters, the place is clean and the decor has a calming appeal with just the right amount of tasteful Chinese art and accessories. My kids have loved growing up with their huge aquarium with giant coy fish that greet diners as they enter. We are always seated immediately. The menu is huge and diverse. Be ready to spend a few extra minutes trying to choose from all the enticing entrees. The staff is mostly comprised of family, from servers,to cooks and delivery. They all have friendly, approachable style and serve you as if you are guests in their own home. The food has never disappointed us. It always comes out of the kitchen hot, fresh, and nicely plated. Delicious sauces, fresh veggies and the best tea, egg flower soup, and fried rice around. Their spring rolls are delish and my daughter will go nowhere else for sweet and sour dishes. My hubby feels the same about their almond chicken...I could go on and on. You will definitely leave with a happy tummy and enough leftovers for another whole meal. It was just OK.. nothing special. Carrots and broccoli in broccoli beef was not as cooked as I would of liked. FYI 8/10 is VERY spicy.

I used to LOVE this place not only for the great tasting food but always efficient and accommodating service. Alas, the food is still good, their sesame chicken is the best around, but the service--just stunk! I still love the place because their appetizers are excellent and their delivery ROCKS!! But today's visit was horrible. We were sat in a back corner with empty boxes and misc clutter stacked all around (but I do love their natural plants). We had to chase down our server even though there were only two other tables in service and when she did show up she appeared annoyed to take our order. In addition, I've been coming to this place since the late 90's and have always been able to substitute their delicious sesame chicken in their (used to be) extremely generously portioned combo meals. Today we were refused the substitution and then ignored after we said we needed time to re-think our decision. Unfortunately, I chose unwisely and did not order the main entree of sesame chicken but went with the sweet and sour chicken combo. Now to be fair I may have been a bit cranky after being denied my favorite combo, but I found their sweet and sour chicken flavorless which made the scant portion size a little less annoying (my other dining partners also found it bland and disappointing so take it as you want). I will however say their food was fresh and not greasy and as I've mentioned their crab wontons and garlic shrimp appetizers are delicious and their sesame chicken is truly the best around (it's our gold standard for all others). Maybe it was an off night for the sever?? If not then sadly the service and ability to be flexible with combos has changed and the recession has made them cut their portions down. Given my long good experience with this place I chose to give them three stars but I suggest you order their excellent and super fast delivery and avoid the frustratingly poor service and unappealing decor. read more

I tried it for the first time when they delivered after a snow/ice storm where most people still didn't want to try driving on the slippery roads. Point for that. I ordered over the phone without a menu and I had stir fried vegetables and chicken. It was savory and the big chunks of vegetables were fresh ---- I'm just about to call in another order. read more

This is one of our favorite Chinese restaurants. The staff is very friendly, the food is very good and you get large portions. I normally get the #3 dinner and have left overs for 3 days. My son loves the honey walnut prawns. We normally get our orders to go and they fill a large Styrofoam container almost completely to the top with the prawns. I would highly recommend. read more

I love my Emperors Palace! It reminds me of good old neighborhood Chinese Joints in Chicago. I order for delivery and they always bring it within the hour. Everything is cooked fresh no frozen pre-done microwave action here. You get it nice and yummy out of the Wok and the egg-rolls are BIG and crunchy and wonderful w/Sweet and Sour and HOT Mustard with Soy-Sauce to dip in. MSG OVERLOAD! The food tastes good, but I suspect that's the MSG talking. I'm not particularly sensitive to the flavor enhancer, but was out of commission for 2 days with a migraine after having their Moo shu. While my wife and I were trapped at Jiffy Lube we decided to pop in at the Emperor's Palace for a quick bite. Let me tell you the Emperor has fallen on hard times. Very hard times. The booth that we sat at was against a center partition topped with dusty artificial greenery and the wall of the partition itself looked like Jackson Pollock had been at work with food as his medium. I don't like dirty walls in a restaurant but the Emperor seems to pay it no mind. The Emperor also boasts restroom that needed a good scrubbing and ceiling tiles that were stained; this place is in desperate need of a good thorough cleaning. The food was just passable and I was pleased that my wife and I did not get sick. The next time we will stay at Jiffy Lube and enjoy their free coffee. read more

Chinese food - the Americanized version, lots of it for the price, nice staff. When your in the mood for lots of All American (Chinese) food for a good price you can get your fix here. A lot of the food is fried and quite greasy but satisfying if that is what you are looking for. I think if you are giving this place 1 star because it is "flavorless Americanized Chinese" that wouldn't last "even a week in Seattle" you are making an unfair comparison and this isn't the type of place for you to begin with. To start with, this place is in Bremerton, nothing about it proclaims "authentic regional Chinese cuisine" the menu doesn't pretend to be something it's not: Almond Fried Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork, Pork Fried Rice, the menu abounds with all the basic mainstream staples. It's for sure better than Panda Express but it certainly isn't anyones version of top flight cooking. A solid pit stop, probably not a destination. read more

Food was fine, service and ownership were absolutely horrendous. We ordered over the phone for carryout and had our order repeated back multiple times to make sure it was correct. After picking it up and getting it home, we were missing one piece of our order. When we returned to the restaurant to debate that point, they brought out multiple people to yell and argue about it up to and including insulting us personally. Of course they didn't include a receipt with all the items on it in our order, and their 'order ticket' didn't include the one item we were missing. Those old reviews that are one or two stars are complete BUNK!!!!! My husband, my roomate, and myself all went to eat here, and it couldn't have been better. The staff was awesomely friendly. The food was exsquisite. I got the "Happy Family" meal, with prawns, chicken, and beef, with vegetables, and it was so tender, and juicy and delicious. My husband got the walnut honey chicken and it was amazing too. Our roomie got the pork chow mein and it was mouth watering too!!!! Their fishtank in front had two massive koi fish in it, and the decore in the rest of the restaraunt is gorgeous. Beautiful chinese lamps hang everywhere, and the entire center wall is covered in beautiful plants. The prices are great, and the protion sizes are BEYOND reasonable. In fact, I think they're under charging for the amount of food they gave us! Complimentary hot tea too! It was wonderful!!! Couldn't give this place a higher review!!!! Thought I would try a new place tonight. What a mistake. I should learn by now no cars in the lot is a bad sign. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and general chicken. It was take out. When I arrived home the chicken for the sweet and sour was mush not crispy. The general chicken was mush as well covered in a very light brown sauce. Then all of it was covered with grilled onions. I have never seen that before. So I took it back and getting a refund was just as bad as the food. So be warned stay far far away from this restaurant. If I could I would give zero stars read more

I really wanted to give this 4 stars but unfortunately the wait staff and condition of the restaurant is TERRIBLE! The food, however, is AWESOME! I suggest getting it to go. I pretty much would have had a better dining experience from home. They didn't ask if we wanted a drink, took our order in a hurry and then talk so loudly about their personal lives in the middle of the restaurant I felt like I was ease dropping. We've only recently discovered this restaurant and keep coming back. Hot and sour soup is one of our favorites and theirs is one of the best. All our entrees and appetizers have been good to excellent. The fried rice is fresher and moister than what's served most places. My only complaint is that the portions are so huge...but we like leftovers....and you can't beat the prices. We've traveled extensively and eat out a lot and have had some of our best meals these small shabby family owned places. read more

We ate here last weekend around 2:30pm on Sunday afternoon after the rush hour was over. The hostess was friendly but didn't understand English well enough to answer questions about the menu, so the ordering process wasn't very good. When our order arrived we were surprised that the almond chicken was covered in traditional American chicken gravy, and the Chinese fried rice was just brown rice with bits of bright red pork and nothing else. But the worst part was the pan fried noodles. They we filled with uncooked crushed garlic and the flavor of the garlic was so overwhelming that one taste ruined the rest of our lunch. On the bright side, the food was fresh and we could have had a good experience if the hostess and acting waitress was able to answer our questions in the first place. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! When I first moved to the area I had to try a number of places. I found those I did not like. I was on the search for Subgum. I found it here. My 15 YO son will beg me to go get the Subgum. Love the Lunch Specials. Service is fast and accurate. The staff is very sweet. We love Emperor's Palace. If I could fit it in my budget I would eat there more often. LOVE IT!!!!! Reminds me of the restaurant that my parents friends owned when I was growing up. Great tasting food. read more
