He is a classically trained, Goldsmith, and a European designer. He also specializes in making beautiful Hawaiian jewelry. Needless to say when my daughter was graduating from high school, I wanted to gift her her first Hawaiian bracelet. The first place that I thought of was Paul Armbruster Goldsmith. We went in for a fitting to measure her wrist, and he custom designed a beautiful bracelet to her specifications. He was able to complete the bracelet on time so I had it before her graduation. When she got it for her graduation, she was absolutely thrilled! You can't beat his quality.

The other shop gave me weird vibes, so I decided to give Elson's a try since everyone in the reviews had nothing but positive things to say. I emailed them in the morning and decided to call as well to check if they take walk-in repairs. The person I spoke with happened to be the owner's brother and they said yes, just come on down--so I did just that! I was welcomed in by Elson Jr., the owner's brother and person I spoke with on the phone, and he told me they could repair the chain for $50 and get it done in about 30 minutes. Good deal in my opinion! So I waited in the store and not even 15 minutes later, the chain was repaired *AND* Elson said they cleaned it! Highly, highly recommend these guys for jewelry repairs if you live near ʻAiea or even if you can drive in from elsewhere on Oʻahu. She had negative things to say such as "the little diamonds are not worth anything, I am just going to melt the gold down and use them to help fix missing diamonds for customers. She said yes but the mood changed. I could tell I was not the hot ticket sale that day and wasting her time. I can read people like a book. Then I asked if they would be interested in buying my Hawaiian gold bangle. It's 54gm of gold, heavy 14k barol shaped. She went in the back and came and started by saying, you're not going to like this... I was on the edge of my seat. Who the hell says this in a professional jewelry store? It's obvious she didn't care and didn't want the sale or to help me. As soon as she understood I wanted to bring my own 7 carat loose diamond to have a setting and ring designed, it wasn't going to be a hot sale for her. So she proceeded to say, you're probably not going to like this valuation...she wrote the numbers on a scratch piece of paper which she had written my name on it because remembering a customers name is impossible to do, $2700 for the bracelet and $700 for the ring. I proceeded to ask, why is it so low, this gold is worth much more even with your profit its too low. She said we'll sorry, thats what it is. Before I could say anything else, she gets up and says, im going to need to go now, i have that lady over there waiting for me. I was shocked. No professionalism, no courtesy, no manners. I thanked the security guard and left. She didn't even provide a quote for the ring and setting which she said they did do this service. Like Stephanie from Full House...HOW RUDE! NEVER AGAIN! it was my first and last. By the way, I had another company buy my bracelet for 3600. Great service, great value. The moment I walked in Pacific Diamond Aiea, it felt stale. They told me that they would figure it out and let me know why the appraisal didn't come back, but no one ever got back to me so then I called and reminded them and now it's months later and still, nobody got back to me, I'm super disappointed because that's not the way you treat a good customer.
