We found another one that was pretty similar to the one I had. We called to be sure they were still engraving. We got there when they opened at 10:30 am and they got it done pretty quickly. The ladies there were super nice. Debbie was the one that actually helped us. It was very reasonable which helped because replacing the necklace was pretty expensive. Definitely would recommend them. I had a really disappointing experience at Debbie's Jewelry. I went in to buy a ring setting for a stone I already had, and right away Debbie (the owner) came off pretty cold and unfriendly. I still stayed polite and friendly the whole time, but the energy just felt off. When I asked if they had thin ring settings, she kept saying no in a really short, dismissive way. Then she ended up pulling out bands that were literally exactly what I had been asking for. It honestly felt like she either wasn't listening or just didn't care to help. On top of that, it came across like she was judging me and assuming I couldn't afford anything. The weird part is her attitude completely changed once I pulled out money to pay, especially when she saw I was paying mostly in cash. That switch-up didn't sit right with me at all. After I left, I realized I didn't even feel good supporting a business where I was treated like that, so I called to ask for a refund. I spoke to her son Mike, and he was actually really respectful and helpful. He had no issue letting me come back, get my stone, and cancel everything. Not long after that, Debbie called me herself. Instead of just hearing me out, she got defensive and kept saying she "didn't even yell," like that's supposed to mean the service was fine. I stayed calm and explained my issue was her attitude, not the price or anything like that. Then she started saying I had an attitude, which wasn't true, and even told me to come get my stone and "take that shit off Yelp"... even though I hadn't posted anything yet. Called ahead to check if something i wanted was possible. A man picked up and confirmed it was, he was very accommodating and offered to send a picture of what i wanted as well. I finally went in and this Lady helped me instead. She was super rude from the moment i walked in, didn't even greet me and her attitude felt like she didn't want to be there. I asked if a 8 mm was possible for a ring and she said yes. Today my daughter and I walked in to Debbie's Jewelry in Waipahu. My daughter needed new earrings because it was tarnished and it was just time for a new pair. As we walked in a lady had to buzz us in. She greeted us and ask us if we needed help. I was looking on Yelp for a jewelry repair shop and came across Debbie's Jewelry. I recognized the location and decided to call for more information. I received a new chain that I wanted to make shorter and their price seemed reasonable. They explained that their jeweler only works certain hours and it may take a day or two. I decided to drop off my chain and wait patiently. I dropped off my chain at 4:00 pm on Friday and again was told that the jeweler only works an hour a day. From 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm. I said ok and planned on possibly picking up my chain around Monday of the following week. Within a 30 minutes I received a called saying that my chain was ready for pick up. WOW!! I was totally surprised. I arrived by 5:30 pm and sure enough my chain was ready to be worn. They did a great job... exactly as I asked and the women who helped me was really sweet. Do not use debbie's jewelry in waipahu. I bought a gold rope chain that was supposedly solid 14 karat gold. It was a 7mm. Spent close to 3500 on it and less than a year later when i decided to sell it because i hardly ever wore it i tried to sell it on my own, should have gotten what i payed or even more since the price of gold went up 600 dollars an ounce since i purchased it. went to get an appraisal at 3 different jewelers only to find out it was NOT solid gold and actually contained metal (shitty gold) and i was informed no jeweler or person would purchase it even at scrap value. We were scammed and ripped off but we didnt have original receipt so we couldnt do a damn thing about it. Our only choice was to go back to debbies and play dumb, she gave us half of what we payed and funny thing she didnt use a magnet when she purchased it back because she knew it was a fake. When she sold it to us she did use a magnet but now im sure it was a fake or super weak magnet that she uses to scam everyone. BOTTOM LINE DEBBIE IS A SCAMMER and her gold is worthless. I cannot believe what happened to me at this place. I got a few things from this place and recently I got a ring from them. A nice 14k ring that had a hula girl on it. I paid almost $700 for it, at Debbie's 14k . I got it for my ex girlfriend and being that I'm no longer with her , I decided to see if I can get some money out of it because gold was at $1188.00 the last time I looked at the stock which was yesterday. So I go in , and they wasn't there until 1040 am when they open at 10am...anyway so I walk in and I ask the chubby lady what can I get for this , and she measures 54grams right, so in my head that's around $600....she tells me that it was worth $97 !!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS, so I tell her what I paid and she was " $700 , omg " and I told her that I bought it from here. Then she walks in the back , and said it was because they used scrap?! WHAT! I will spread the word out to all of hawaii , the business I'm in , I come into contact with at least 100 people everyday . I'm in finance and iam shocked , because I thought this place was straight.
