The other shop gave me weird vibes, so I decided to give Elson's a try since everyone in the reviews had nothing but positive things to say. I emailed them in the morning and decided to call as well to check if they take walk-in repairs. The person I spoke with happened to be the owner's brother and they said yes, just come on down--so I did just that! I was welcomed in by Elson Jr., the owner's brother and person I spoke with on the phone, and he told me they could repair the chain for $50 and get it done in about 30 minutes. Good deal in my opinion! So I waited in the store and not even 15 minutes later, the chain was repaired *AND* Elson said they cleaned it! Highly, highly recommend these guys for jewelry repairs if you live near ʻAiea or even if you can drive in from elsewhere on Oʻahu. Mahalo again to Elson and Calin, both of whom provided excellent customer service and attention to my request!

Ample parking. It is right next to where Toys R Us used to be, and to get to the parking you will need to turn in at the light by Big City Diner. The new store is a definite upgrade to the old location! It was a little confusing for me to find as you can't see Elson's from the parking lot. You will have to walk out through a pathway to get to Pali Momi Street and walk to where the store faces the street. You will need to get buzzed in for security reasons. They have a small jewelry selection available that is ready to purchase, but it seems they do a lot of custom work. I primarily come here for repairs! I've replaced missing pave diamonds and just had a repair done today for a bracelet I had where a pear shaped diamond fell out. I unfortunately did not have the diamond, but they had a similar natural diamond on hand and were able to repair it in about 20 minutes! Repair cost was about $100 less than I was quoted to mail it back to the jewelry company that I purchased it from in the mainland. Saved money and got it back right away. I will always come here for jewelry repair needs!

Very nice man with a nice haircut and sense of humor! I was interested in getting a necklace with my initial on it and they had a lot of options, with different chain styles, sizes both mm and length. I decided to do the 20in. box chain as it's dainty and very pretty. Thank you for the awesome experience and it didn't break the bank so thank goodness lol. He walked me through the customization process if I also wanted to do a custom ring in the future and also wrote down the ring size I looked at and other size chain I was considering so I have something to refer to. I took it in about two months ago for an appraisal and they sent it downtown and then they called me to come pick it up, but there was no appraisal, so I went back and let them know. They told me that they would figure it out and let me know why the appraisal didn't come back, but no one ever got back to me so then I called and reminded them and now it's months later and still, nobody got back to me, I'm super disappointed because that's not the way you treat a good customer. It's not the only piece that I have bought from them. I don't think I'll be spending my money at that store anymore.

It was so fun getting to choose the charms and the chain for our bracelets. So many cute options too. You really get to personalize your bracelet. Luckily, we were the only customers.. so it was like, we had the whole store and jewelry associate to ourselves-Jannon especially made it such a pleasant experience with her sweet personality so kind and so patient.. it'll forever be a lovely memory for all of us this entire experience was priceless.
