beef teriyaki and mixed tempura bento box
    Feliza C.

Truly a hidden gem in Burbank! Decided to come here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. They are located in the same plaza as Vons, Bea Bea's, and Handel's. The plaza is rather large so parking isn't much of an issue. The space was clean and provided ample seating. Don't be like me and sit before ordering! You are supposed to walk up, order, then sit. Staff were friendly and the bento boxes were huge! We ordered one chicken and one beef teriyaki and mixed tempura bento boxes, one can of soda, and with tip totaled about $50. A bit pricey but considering the size, it was easily two meals for us. This spot is definitely going to be added to my list of go-tos!

I've been coming to Emon since 2007 maybe even earlier when I worked at the studios and it still hits exactly the same. Now that I've moved back to Burbank, my kids finally get to experience one of my OG spots... and they crave it too. The photos say it all. The bento boxes are HUGE. The bean sprouts? Addictive. I genuinely wish I could order a side of them to-go. The salad and tsukemono are so fresh and flavorful they could honestly be a meal on their own. We always go back for the same favorites- you cannot skip the tempura. It's light, perfectly crisp, and never heavy. Everything tastes fresh, simple, and clean. No fuss, just really good food. This time we ordered the tuna hand roll, lemon cut roll, chicken & tempura bento, and chicken teppan. The sushi is fresh and straightforward. I also love the gyu don and their udon (didn't order them this time, but they're always solid). It's walk-up ordering, you can grab drinks from the fridge, and sit down or take it to go. The family who runs it is wonderful, and the music playing in the background? Straight out of my 90s R&B slow jam mixtape era, which makes it even better. Been my favorite for years. So glad they're open on Saturdays now.

Really loved this place. The staff were really nice and helpful when it came to ordering. Also like that there is indoor and outdoor seating. The prices are really good too. My favorite was the Dragon roll, it was so good! The California roll and miso soup were good too. Will definitely be back to try their bento boxes.

I wanted to try this little Japanese restaurant because it's closed on Sundays! So my friend and I went for lunch on a Monday. We were seated right away. You order & pay at the counter and they bring the food out. We each got the lunch special bento boxes which included teriyaki chicken, a little California roll, a little cucumber roll, and tempura shrimp, plus a lettuce salad, a cabbage salad and a bean sprout salad. It was all good.

Stopped by Emon during my Burbank Visit. Enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and wallet friendly prices. Victor's sushi roll is awesome. I love unagi so that Plate was amazing. Free hot tea + refills - No other place I know does this. Prices are great, food tastes very good. Worth a stop if your in the area. Owner is there cranking out each sushi dish. Service is kind and fast. Definitely stopping by again

Hidden gem! Really solid spot in the neighborhood. I ordered the chicken teriyaki with shrimp tempura bento box and everything was on point. The chicken was flavorful, the tempura was crispy, and the portions were generous. Also tried the rainbow roll, which was super fresh and well put together. Definitely coming back.

I stopped by EMON in Glendale for lunch today, and it turned into one of those unexpectedly impressive meals that remind you why community‑driven restaurants deserve the spotlight. This Japanese‑style gem delivers thoughtful flavors, warm hospitality, and a level of care that stands out in the neighborhood. I ordered the weekly bento box special, and it was outstanding from top to bottom. The chicken was tender and perfectly seasoned, the salmon sushi tasted clean and fresh, and the salad and bonchon‑style sides added balance and texture without feeling like filler. Even the tea and water service was attentive and well‑timed -- the kind of detail that quietly elevates the entire experience. The atmosphere inside EMON is warm, spotless, and inviting. It's the type of space where you immediately feel comfortable settling in. Clean lines, calm energy, and a sense of pride in the environment make it easy to enjoy your meal without distraction. A major highlight of my visit was Sung, the manager. He was extremely polite, courteous, and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. His recommendations were thoughtful, and he helped guide me toward the bento special -- a choice I'm grateful for. Beyond great service, Sung's connection to the community is unmistakable. I watched him greet guests by name, check in with regulars, and engage with people in a way that shows EMON isn't just a restaurant; it's a neighborhood touchpoint. Leadership like that is rare, and it shows in the atmosphere and the consistency of the service. Parking -- often a challenge in Glendale -- was surprisingly easy here. There's plenty of parking available, and the location is convenient without the usual congestion, making EMON an ideal stop for lunch or dinner without the stress of circling the block. And for full transparency: my wife is absolutely going to be annoyed that I came here without her. After tasting this meal, I can already hear the "You went where?" conversation coming. But honestly, that just gives us the perfect excuse to return -- and next time, I'm bringing her with me. Overall, EMON delivers delicious food, exceptional hospitality, and a community‑minded atmosphere that makes you want to come back. This place deserves a spot on your regular rotation, and I'm already planning my next visit.

The sushi was fresh. It was nice and quiet even though there was a couple of guests. We ordered the food at the counter, to find out later that we could have sat down at the table and to order our food. But over all the service was great. The staff making the food made the food very presentable.

It was my first time trying this place, and the experience was amazing. The food is really good and great quality, with generous portions at a reasonable price. The service is friendly as well. I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes Japanese food.

This is a review SPECIFICALLY for the Spicy Tuna Don. I've ordered this dish multiple times and Emon has consistently delivered a delicious, quality bowl. The sushi rice that they use is amazing flavor wise and texture wise. It's not overwhelming nor flavorless and has a nice chewiness to it. The perfect sushi rice. The spicy tuna also tastes fresh. My favorite meal when I'm in Burbank. They accept phone orders and the workers are always friendly and efficient. Restaurant has limited seating but it's not difficult to find a table.

I was craving sushi and I was in the area so I stopped by to have lunch. Found them on Yelp. I was looking for a fast food kind of place and this worked just fine. The sushi was fresh and tasty. Very simple rolls but I enjoyed them much cause it truly was fresh. I ordered a spicy tuna, spicy salmon and albacore roll and loved all of them. I noticed they served teriyaki, noddles, sashimi, salads and more. Customer service was friendly and genuine. I got my order within ten minutes, I was on a short lunch break. Would love to come back and try other things from the menu cause everything people were eating around me looked and smelled wonderful.

My boyfriend and I were across the street at Fantasia watching a World Cup came, and after we were craving hand rolls, when he spotted Toro Sushi Poke House. We took a look at their menu which was displayed on the outside. The prices were really affordable, so we just had to try it, and were so glad we did because this was one of the most affordable and delicious nigiri and hand roll experiences we've had! The place itself is small and intimate. They have a bar area and few tables inside and a small outdoor seating as well. When we entered we were greeted by our friendly waiter, and seated immediately. It was pretty empty around 5 pm on a Friday, which was convenient because we didn't have to wait for a table. I'm not sure how packed this place normally gets, but it was also the long holiday weekend, so that might be why. We started off with the fatty tuna nigiri. For $6 you get two big pieces, which is so affordable, and the quality was amazing! We then each got the 6 piece hand roll set which came with a spicy tuna, scallop, yellow tail, crab, salmon, and toro. I'm not a fan of scallops, so I switched it out with a yellow tail roll. The fish was top quality and delicious. I cannot wait to come back here and stuff my face again!

I've visited several times before, but today the service was truly exceptional. The owner personally came to our table to greet us and served each of our dishes, which made the experience feel warm and welcoming. The fish was incredibly fresh and delicious. The baked salmon and crab roll was excellent and much larger than I expected, which was definitely a pleasant surprise! The chicken udon was flavorful and generously packed with chicken. To top it all off, the takoyaki arrived fresh, hot, and perfectly prepared. Overall, the combination of outstanding service, fresh ingredients, and generous portions made for a wonderful dining experience.

The stuffed jalapeños were also just okay. Overall, the experience wasn't bad, but nothing really stood out to make me want to come back. Unfortunately, one of the plates we were given was still stained with food, which honestly should have been an immediate red flag. I ordered the Crab Zanmai Combination Plate. From what I could tell, it included a baked crab hand roll, 2 pieces of baked crab sushi, an 8-piece California roll, a soft shell crab roll, and 1 piece of fried soft shell crab. I'm kind of guessing on the exact contents because I couldn't find an actual description on either the menu or the restaurant's website. The soft shell crab was easily the best part of the combo, although that's admittedly a pretty low bar. The hand roll and baked crab pieces were passable. The California roll was more akin to something you'd find in a Ralph's grocery store sushi section than at an actual sushi restaurant. I also had the unfortunate experience of trying the salmon skin roll. The salmon skin may as well have been jerky. It didn't have that light crispness, but was extremely tough and not enjoyable at all. Definitely would pass on that. For basically $30 for this combo, I honestly think you're better off going to an actual sushi restaurant like Aikan. SushiStop is probably fine if you just want quick, cheap sushi, but if you're looking for a meal you'll genuinely enjoy, I'd probably recommend going elsewhere.
