Great place to hang out and mingle. Ladies night or a date night. Had the white Sangria is citrus and refreshing, which was really delicious to have in a warm/hot day. Shared Cordero Asado, lamb lollipops, was expecting small lamb on skewers per the tapas description on the menu. Was juicy and cooked perfectly. Didn't really need the sauce. Also shared the chicken and mushroom empanadas. These were very mini. So there was more dough than filling. It would have been better to offer 3 normal size. Paella de Mariscos is seafood flavor with mussel clam and shrimp. The pan was really small vs wide and shallow. So the rice on the bottom was burnt black and had the burnt taste throughout the whole dish. Didn't get the crispy rice at the bottom.

Your GPS will take you to Cheesecake and tell you that you've arrived, but you don't see a stand alone restaurant named El Tapeo. Just enter the hotel and you will find it! It's a lovely setting with floor to ceiling windows facing the shopping campus. It feels upscale, and the server staff behave as such; but it is not a snobby, uncomfortable ambiance. Business casual fits well here, and the sound level is lower than average. The tapas are first rate - delicious and well presented. They had run out of octopus and lamb when we dined there, so we will try again another time. Sangria in a pitcher was just the right amount for the four of us. This place is a gem!

The restaurant is located downstairs, where we were greeted warmly and seated right away. Our server was an absolute delight--friendly, attentive, and wonderful throughout the evening. We started with guacamole for the table, which was incredibly fresh and delicious. My husband ordered the paella, which takes about 35 minutes to prepare. Our server suggested putting the order in early, and we were so glad he did. I ordered the Gambas al Ajillo and Chicharrón de Ribeye, and both were absolutely delicious. I loved being able to enjoy a little surf and turf and try two completely different dishes. By the end of the evening, we were far too stuffed for dessert--which I now regret! I guess that gives us the perfect excuse to come back soon. We absolutely will!

That was nice, I suppose, but there is no entrance in the back. We ended up parking just down the street and walking, unfortunately in the rain. Some of that is important for as long as the construction lasts. Our GPS issue has nothing to do with the restaurant. It's just a friendly FYI in case it's your first time. The place was cute, but kind of ordinary. I was surprised when trying to find the restroom there is another big room of tables behind the bar. Servers were attentive, but they mislead us just a bit. Our friend asked about the paella and was told it was, or maybe could be (?) a single serving. Well... no way. It was massive. I believe he enjoyed it, but didn't come close to finishing it. I'd say it's easily a two-person meal. We were also told pizzas were individual size. The pizza had eight slices and could easily serve two. Mark enjoyed it. He ordered the four cheese pizza, which included blue cheese. I took a bite and definitely tasted it and didn't care for it. I think the blue cheese might have been one reason Mark DID like it. I ordered an appetizer, PULPO A LA PLANCHA from the Hot Tapas menu. It was quite good. I also had the soup of the day, which was mushroom. It was delicious! I finished all my food and was perfectly satisfied and full.

We were seated immediately upon arrival and placed our order shortly after. Our waiter recommended 2-3 tapas per person. A quick tip: if you order a paella, order fewer tapas overall as the rice makes it very filling! The standout tapas were the cold Patatas Con Alioli (the garlic in the potato salad was divine), the Vieiras Albariño (scallops were tender and cooked to perfection), and the Calamares A La Plancha (very clean squid, no strong fishy taste). The Solomillos A La Plancha was a unique take on beef tenderloin, though it was ultimately forgettable and the Pollo Al Limón was sadly overcooked and needed more lemon. While we got seated quickly, the dish delivery was very slow and spread out, stretching our total meal to two hours. By the time our Blanco Y Negro dessert arrived, we didn't bother mentioning our missing Queso De Cabra just because we wanted to wrap things up. Another staff member tipped off our waiter about our anniversary, so he congratulated us, took our picture, and brought two glasses of champagne. While a cute moment, we were surprised to be charged for the champagne on our bill afterward. Since I'm not much of a drinker and we already had a pitcher of sangria, we would have declined had we known it wasn't complimentary. Great ambiance and seafood, but watch out for slow food rollout and unexpected charges.

The cheese was melted just right, stretchy and hot. The sauce had a nice balance, a little tangy, a little sweet, not overpowering anything. The pepperoni was the best part. Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and we enjoyed what we ordered. The Buzzkill pizza was delicious, and the appetizer platter was a great option for the table. Unfortunately, the service really took away from the experience. It took about 10 minutes before anyone came over to seat us, another 10-15 minutes before someone took our order, and when our Snap Into It salad arrived (for a party of three), it only came with two pieces of bread, so we had to ask for a third. At the end of the meal, we waited around 20 minutes just to get our check. The surprising part was that the restaurant wasn't busy at all, so the slow service was hard to understand. The food was definitely the highlight, but because of the overall service experience, I don't think I'd return.
