One of the best meals I've had in a long time. Waitress was great, atmosphere was awesome, food was phenomenal and drinks were awesome. This was my first time and I will be back every time in Chicago and telling all my friends about this. I am in love with the goat cheese and tomato sauce tapas!!!! read more

I have been coming here for years as my special occassion place to go. The tapas are wonderful, and I dream about the beef brochette, the tuna cannoli, the garlic potato salad and the terrine of chocolate for dessert. It's not a pretentious place, but there is a warm festive atmosphere in Emilios. I love coming in on a cold Chicago winter night and huddling around the few tables near the bar while we wait for a table. The sangria is yummy and the long standing chef at Emilios likes to surprise patrons from time to time by sending out complimentary samples of the special tapas. I will always have a warm place in my heart for Emilios! read more

We had such a great time with Chef Emilio- he did a Chefs tasting sort of thing with us and it was great! Very friendly restaurant as well- we will be back! read more

Emilio's Tapas - Spanish Near Me - Hillside, Illinois

Excellent spot for tapas, garlic potato salad is a must, but you must really love garlic. Goat cheese with tomato sauce, steak with horseradish & onions, bacon wrapped dates are a few of the best items on the menu. read more

I had a great visit at Emilio's and would recommend it to anyone. Our service was wonderful from all staff and they provided great suggestions for what to order. The atmosphere was perfect for a summer night out on the patio. I will definitely be back again! read more

One of the best Tapas restaurants on the Chicago suburbs. Excellent authentic Spanish food by chefs who are routinely trained in Spain. The ambiance and the service are impeccable and the food in every selection made is of the highest quality and freshness. There is a great sense of pride felt by those who own/operate this restaurant and given all that is mentioned its clearly understandable. read more

Delicious! This place is a hidden gem. The menu is so interesting. I went with a friend and we ordered about 6 small plates. Everything was so delicious and fresh! I can't wait to go back! read more

Been going to Emilios for years. Consistently good. Conveniently located with lots of parking. We usually each order our favorites and share then split the check. It's all good. Quiet, upscale place for a business lunch. Nothing like it, with such fine food, anywhere else in this area. Lucky to have him. If you are lucky Emilio will come out of the kitchen to greet you. Classy guy. read more

Everything was absolutely amazing. The tapas, the garlic potatoes salad and Creme Brûlée was out of this world.

Great find if u don't want to drive up to the city. Food is authentic and ambience great

Tapas are excellent!! try the potatoes brabas!!

First time there. And the food wasn't that tasty. The bacon wrapped dates were good and were the best part of our meal. We also ordered the calamari tapa, and chicken with curry sauce and both were disappointing. Lastly we had the chicken paella and it average at best. The shrimp in the paella was like eating cardboard..it didn't taste fresh, maybe fresh frozen. We should've went to Buffalo Wild Wings. read more

When we're in the mood for tapas - this is our favorite restaurant. Service is always great and willing to offer suggestions or explain a dish. They never hurry us along. Great place to meet friends and catch up over good food and very good Sangria! read more

Had the best waitress ever! Julene was so super sweet! The food and Sangria was so good! a must try!

This place was very friendly and their food is delicious they also carry a variety of wines .

Great Place and great food, you can honestly do not go wrong with this place.. great suburb restaurant to go to.

Very nice atmosphere! The menu is satisfying and the staff is nice! Tried a few tapas and the chicken paella! It was good. The only thing I would suggest to the owner is to make sure the meat is properly deboned and trimmed, as we stumbled upon a cartilage in our chicken croquettes. read more

Worst paella ever.. and the service i didnt even get napkins or a fork... never again

Really good food, cute atmosphere, great service... If your looking for something original and not formulaic, definitely tris place.

Emilio's Emilio's Emilio's THIS is a fine example of what every restaurant should strive for. My wife and I were fasting for Ramadan and asked the waitress if she could try to have the food ready according to the time that we break fast. The timing and service we received were more than we could have expected. We obviously understand food preparation times cannot always be coordinated as we wish, but it was perfect! The family and traditional vibes were priceless. We were having conversations across tables with other guests, it was such a nice open atmosphere. We really had a lot of fun. Don't get me started on the most important part - THE FOOD! I don't need to tell you what to get because the waitress will advise you and deliver! Look no further, Emilio's will deliver an amazing experience every time for any occasion. read more

We went there for a family birthday celebration for our daughter. The food was delicious! The goat cheese with honey, poached pear, and nuts was our favorite but everything was very tasty. We would highly recommend. Also, as it was our first visit the chef sent out 3 desserts for us to celebrate our daughters birthday. Yum!!! Thanks for a nice evening with family and great food! read more

There wasn't 1 thing that we tried that was outstanding! So many different choices and the sangria White and red was the only thing u needed to drink all night service was amazing the atmosphere was electric live music didn't over take conversation just a great place to go with friends and share and caught up on things read more

My husband and I have been here many times. Tonight was the first time for my in-laws who were celebrating their 63rd wedding anniversary. Anna, our server, was awesome. She was welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations for the newbies and repeaters. Garlic potato salad, bacon wrapped dates, Spanish ham/cheese, steak/onion special and, of course, the chicken and seafood paella were all wonderful. Great time had by all! read more

Emilio's has been one of my consistent favorites. One of the first, and in my opinion the best tapas in Chicagoland. Today we had the dates, two wonderful sea food plates and pear and fig desserts. All we're wonderful - particularly the seafood tostadas, seafood brochette and pear dessert. Exceptional service from Anna was the icing on the cake. Emilio's is always a can't miss choice. read more

Fantastic food and atmosphere and a great place for a family gathering... I've never been disappointed with the service or the food I highly recommend this establishment read more

I LOVE all of Emilios' restaurants and I always bring newcomers to the City or out-of-towners here. You've gotta have the Dates wrapped in Bacon, Pincho d'Solomillos and Cannelones. read more

This is my favorite restaurant and is the best of all the Emilios! The service is great, and I love those bacon wrapped dates. I really love the tuna canelon too. It is not that expensive considering the quality of the food. read more

Always GREAT food! We've been to Emilio's six times over the last couple of years and the food and service has always been wonderful! We haven't found a single item that wasn't delicious. Among our favorites: Garlic potato salad (a MUST!) Grilled leg of lamb (just tried it, OMG) Calamari steak (yum) Escargot (delicious) Grilled shrimp with lemon garlic butter (order two) Figs wrapped in bacon (be adventurous, they are suburb) Baked goat cheese (delicious even if you don't like goat cheese) Sangria (wonderful and I don't even like wine!) I could go on and on but you really have to try it for yourself. In addition to the regular menu there is always a long list of daily specials was well. Tapas is best when you go with a group of people because you can try a little of everything. If I had to quibble about anything at Emilio's it would be with the bread. One of my favorite things is to sop up the delicious sauces with a slice of bread. Unfortunately their bread is the mass produced French/Italian loaf that does not do justice to the wonderful sauces that accompany every dish. We spent a little less than $50 per person on our last visit with drinks, gratuity, tax, and a LOT of food. read more

We stop here everytime we come to visit my son in Chicago and last night was as good as it gets. The food was excellent (as always) our server was wonderful and allowed us as much time as we needed to eat and order and Emilio himself welcomed us! Our favorite time of year to eat here is when the weather is nice and we can sit out in the " sunroom" Some of our favorites are : ENSALADA RUSA.. PATATAS CON ALIOLI... BERENJENAS BRASEADAS... grilled eggplant stuffed with goat cheese, served with tomato basil vinaigrette and mixed greens And almost any fish, chicken or octopus dish from the "hot tapas" menu My only wish is they would have the EMILIOS CATALANA..( Emilios creme brulee with bittersweet chocolate) more often. My wife would have us make the drive just for that ! About 120 miles :) read more

I have been going to Emilio's for the past 15 years. I spent three semesters at Madrid during my college years and was delighted to have a traditional tapas bar near my parents' house in the suburbs. During my twenties, I would hang out at the restaurant bar once or twice a week and order some of the restaurant's lower-priced menus. On special occasions, I'd go with friends and/or family and have a huge feast. The restaurant's dishes are reasonable in price and very good. There is a lot to choose from the menu and the chef is quick in getting the meals to his customers. You can eat your fill at this place, and not waste any food. Now that I am in my mid-thirties, I go to Emilio's in Hillside with my wife on dates. Sitting in the bar section makes a nice romantic atmosphere for a date. My wife, who did some acting in Europe, said it felt just like she was there. Yesterday, I took my two kids (2yrs and infant) and my wife to eat dinner. The waiting staff was really friendly and made sure my kids had their high-chairs and were occupied with coloring on the children's menu. We were slightly concerned that the place would not be too kid-friendly, but had the exact opposite experience. My son loved the food and had a great time. Finally, the owner is a good man who is approachable and really seems to car about his customers. The staff are friendly and professional and do an excellent job in making sure the guests have their needs met. If you are looking for a Spanish/European dining experience for a reasonable price that is fit for all occasions, I highly recommend trying this restaurant.. read more

Awesome food. Large variety of Spanish wines and beers. Very friendly.

Last night I had the most exquisite dinner ever at Emillios Tappas. The soft shell crab was excellent and the duck to die for. You have not lived until you have been there! Thanks Emillios! read more

Emilio's Tapas - Spanish Near Me - Hillside, Illinois

Great sangria. Great service. Beautiful restaurant. Everything I ever ordered from the menu was excellent.

Loved the goat cheese!! Everything else was great too, especially the profiteroles.

Love this place. Tapas are outstanding and the Paella is a must. Don't be surprised if Emilio comes to your table to greet you. Can you say Pisto Manchego? Out of this world. read more

My brother and i tried a Spanish tapas restaurant for a 2nd time but my parents and a friend of ours had their experience for the 1st time. It was an experience. Our waiter was friendly and very helpful to tell us what they have over there. From shrimp to clams, from patatas bravas to the halibut. Everything was good especially their paellas. I highly recommend the restaurant. read more

Best restaurant around & has been since it opened! Emilio is always on site tending to the details. It's summertime so check out the charming patio and order their refreshing but not sweet Sangria. Work your way thru the menu & be adventurous, it's all yummy. Come over on Sunday evening for the paella special. The atmosphere & food is always wonderful! read more

Been going here for years, and have always enjoyed the food. I've had excellent service all but once (and that waitress was good, but loud and kind of pushy). I used to like it when they would serve a little amuse bouche of olives or bing cherries, some thing small. Haven't had that for a while, but I still enjoy Emilio's, every dish! read more

Place was packed , we were the only non white customers there (Sunday) that could be the reason it took while for the waitress to attend our table , food not so great , potato salad was the best out of all the food we ordered , food has no flavor, but the presentation was good. read more
