The worst on every level!!! There are too many disappointments to mention!!! Did not clean an entire level, didn't clean any of the ceiling fans, did not touch the blinds the second time around. Horrible!!!! read more

My significant other and I had ordered a 4-man-hour housecleaning as a gift for my folks, and we had scheduled the clean-up very easily, but we had to re-schedule when my folks decided to come home early. A few weeks later, we attempted to re-schedule, but were having problems getting a hold of Emilia's - we would leave messages, but not get any response. Fortunately, Alex Witalec - their operations manager - was eventually able to contact us, and we were able to finally schedule cleaning. Our cleaner - whose name completely escapes me - showed up within a few minutes of the scheduled time, and proceeded to clean the upstairs for us. This was nice, as my lovely assistant was on a night owl schedule. The house cleaner finished up quickly, so my significant other was able to go back to sleep as the rest of the condo got cleaned. They did a great job cleaning up all of the bathroom surfaces, all of the floors were mopped well, all of the carpets were vacuumed thoroughly, all of the kitchen surfaces were cleaned well (including some spots that I often forget), and she dusted most of the electronics around the entertainment center and our home office. We have both a dog who sheds a lot, and a cat who sheds a bit, and we were impressed at how thoroughly all traces of them were cleaned up. We got a pretty good coupon deal for 4-man-hours of cleaning, and I feel that they exceeded my expectations. We'll definitely keep Emilia's Cleaning in mind for future small clean up jobs, and maybe even big spring clean ups as we need them. Aside from the minor communications mix-up before, I'm pleased with the service we received. read more

Wow. I was looking for a new cleaning crew but the responses that the owner wrote to the people who posted negative responses are some of the worst I've seen. Very unprofessional. I think I'll give someone else my business. read more

I have been having my house cleaned for the past three years. I would rank this encounter in the bottom 10% of housecleaning experiences. I saw high ratings for Emilia and thought I would try out her services. However, I will be returning to my former housecleaning company. Things started off great with Emilia's. She is easy to contact via email, patient with scheduling difficulties, and friendly throughout. However, my experience was the cleaning could not have been any more different. During the scheduled cleaning time, I needed to come home to grab something. I noticed that it had only been two hours past the scheduled time, which I thought was unusual for the $220 deep cleaning I had scheduled. I looked around and noticed that a few parts of the deep cleaning did not appear to have been completed including. --outside of cabinets did not appear to have been cleaned --baseboards did not appear to have been cleaned --windows did not appear to have been cleaned --underneath of bed and furniture did not appear to have been cleaned --furniture does not appear to have been vacuumed --blinds did not appear to have been hand washed --no list of cleaning supplies for future visits was left I figured that the housekeepers had mistakenly done a standard cleaning instead of a deep cleaning, so I contacted Emilia. She said there must be a big misunderstanding and suggested that I speak with the person who completed the cleaning. This cleaning lady did stop by and speak with my partner, but Emilia did not accompany her. My partner walked the cleaning lady around and showed her the areas that did not appear to have been cleaned. During the encounter, my partner noticed that she seemed nervous and defensive, so he tried to make her feel comfortable--we just wanted to make sure that either (a) the expected cleaning was completed or (b) we only needed to pay for what had been done. She said they had come early and two of them were there for 3 hours. She also offered to take $30 off of our bill making the new total $190, which still seemed high given that Emilia charges $25/hr for deep cleaning and they were there for 6 person hours ($150 worth of work). I informed Emilia about the hours of work performed and asked that I only be expected to pay a reasonable rate for the work. However, she still charged me $190. Both Emilia and the maid were not friendly and accommodating anymore though, so we just paid the $190. I would have much rather just had them come to finish the work that was supposed to have been done. I have had much better experience with other maid companies and will be returning to them. read more

We found Emilia's Cleaning on Angie's list and hired them based on their price. The cleaning service was adequate at first, and for a while was actually pretty good. Then, Emilia started having issues with scheduling, taking days to return emails, and then didn't want to use the products we suggested, and the people who came to clean did a rather poor job. I pay to have a clean house, and I'm not going to be told that I'm getting my money's worth when there's dust everywhere, overflowing trash cans, and the kitchen counters and furniture appear untouched. I posted a review of Emilia's cleaning on another site. She responded by claiming that my house gives her cleaning ladies headaches, and that she's glad not to have us as customers. I'm glad to hire someone else. There's better out there. read more

My search for a cleaning service is (finally) over!! Emilia's service has been leaving my home spotless since early this year, and we have no complaints. We started out paying by the hour, and now have moved to monthly service. The pricing is so reasonable too, especially having tried out many services in the city with less-than-stellar results and work ethic. Emilia herself is so prompt in replying to emails that scheduling or making any changes in a breeze. I *highly* recommend. read more

This cleaning service is terrible. Don't use her. We used her for a move in service last year and I forgot to write a review. Well, better late than never. Our place when we moved in, as others have stated, was not to the level of cleanliness she guarantees on her website. Far from it, in fact. And her email responses are ridiculous. If you feel like getting enraged, email this woman about a bill, it'll make for a fun conversation. She charged $155 for the move-in "Deep Clean" or whatever and it was bogus. I told her if she wanted to come back and redo what they missed then we had no problem with that, but that suggestion did not go over well. I think she then told me we were done and to send less than the original cost. She said if I wasn't happy with the work than to "send what I thought was fair." So, I sent the original $155 and told her it wasn't about the money, ever. It was about the quality of the work. I then told her to never contact me again because her customer service (and demeanor) is ridiculous. Avoid if possible. read more

I couldn't be more disappointed to leave this review. Emelia's came highly recommended to me a few years ago. I hired her for a commercial job of a mostly raw office space and was pleased. I contacted her service again the other day because I had a slovenly Airbnb guest in my home and didn't want to deal with the cleaning myself. I paid $110 for a 3-hour service. The absolute most for a cleaning I've ever paid. I have a 2/bed, 2ba condo less than 1200 sq ft. I'm pretty clean. The guest bathroom was pretty dirty. The was mostly normal - some dust, the floors needed mopping etc. The girl brought very few supplies. I showed her where all of my rags, cleaning supplies, scrubbers were etc - in the master bath, under the kitchen sink. She asked me if I had a scrub brush and I told her it was in the master bath with the other supplies. I asked her if she thought it was going to be a big job and if it was bad. She shook her head and said definitely not. For the most part, the place got cleaned. But the dirtiest parts (the bathtub, bathroom sinks, etc) were barely cleaned. I think she only used Windex to clean the kitchen and bathrooms. The tub wasn't touched on the sides and there was hair in the tub from the gross guest. All the sinks still had gross stuff in them...one I could still see toothpaste and soap. I asked if she would put fresh linens on the bed and they said no problem. The girl put the sheets on the wrong way - it was obvious they didn't fit the way she put them on. I had to undo the entire bed and redo the linens that night when I got home. She also made the bed in the guest room where I said she didn't need to. I asked her to just fold the comforters. Two things I didn't mention in my complaint but that I'll happily share in my crappy review is that she took two phone calls in the 30 minutes I was still in the apartment and actually peed in the toilet and didn't flush!! Can you imagine coming home to your apartment you paid to have cleaned and the person left behind yellow water and toilet paper in the toilet?! I was pretty disappointed that I paid for a professional cleaning and the bathrooms and kitchen were not given a deep clean. How do you clean a bathroom without using a scrubber? I emailed Alex explaining that I felt for the price, the job was not satisfactory and that for over $100, the bathrooms should sparkle! I told him about the sheets being put on the wrong way and I shouldn't have to re-clean the tub and sinks after paying so much. The response? Here is the response cut and pasted from my email: I was going to e-mail you earlier to say that Ola did what she could in three hours, when we spoke to Ola she said that the apartment needs more work than just three hours but she did what she could. I apologize that you're disappointed, we probably should have scheduled more time to have more work done. read more

So far Emilia's Cleaning has done me well.... I scheduled an in home estimate late Wed and she showed up promptly at 8am this AM to meet me. For some reason, my phone wasn't working so after waiting for me for 20 mins downstairs Emilia left. When I realized what had happened I called her apologetically to see if she could come back. With no attitude at all, she came back at 4pm today. I expected her to be slightly annoyed at having to come twice, but she was SUPER nice and professional. I've had 4 different companies give me quotes (2 of which came to my house to check it out first). She was the only one who walked me through everything she would do (and wouldn't) in a professional and thorough way. On top of that her price was the best of the 4 estimates and she included the 3rd cleaning free. I can't wait for my first cleaning! read more

We've been using Emilia's for well over a year now and are very pleased. Sylwia comes to our home once a month and does a spectacular job. Having one person dedicated to our home is a major plus. We never have to explain things over and over again--she just comes to our home, knows where all our supplies are, and gets to work. She pays attention to the details and our house is always left super clean and organized. Price is competitive, and Emilia is very accommodating with scheduling. There were some hiccups initially, and previous reviews from a few years ago might highlight this, but Emilia has taken every step to correct issues. Communication and scheduling are vastly improved, and I have no complaints whatsoever, especially over the last 12+ months. Highly recommended. read more

I just can't say enough about what a wonderful job they have done for us. I wouldn't recommend this service. I used the move-in service because I was hoping to save time. I was also impressed by the Yelp reviews. The purpose of the move-in service is to thoroughly clean the apartment. Rather, they merely did a once over. If it looked clean, that was good enough. For example, I opened the cupboard, it looked clean, but on closer inspection, it was clear from the small amount of dust that they did not wipe them down. Also, please be aware that this is a flat charge. I ended up paying more than $40/hour for the service. I think it is difficult to find a good move-in cleaning service. Perhaps this was just one bad instance of a good company. read more

The cleaning lady who came was very nice and offered me a lot of green tips. All that is great, but she misplaced a lot of my items. For the life of me, I can't find of my cleaning supplies that they used ( they do NOT bring their own). I kept calling them and left several messages about what happened, but never got a call back. I wouldn't recommended them at all. PLUS I I paid over $90 for just cleaning a small apartment! Too expensive. read more

Hello. I've used Emilia's cleaning for a few years now, so feel I am pretty fairly armed for an accurate review. If I was to think of 3 words of their service, I would use (1) consistent (more or less), (2) inconsistent (in cleaning), and (3) stubborn. On the first point, they do tend to show up, and I've only had a few no shows or last minute shifts. Emilia typically tries to accommodate a quick schedule shift, but only if it is at her convenience. On the second point, they are very inconsistent in their cleaning. I've had many streaks on my floors. I've had rooms left unclean. My counters have been skipped. My stove has been barely cleaned. I have a couple cats, and they now refuse to clean any hairballs on the floor. How are you a cleaning company if you don't actually clean!? They are also inconsistent in some simple things...for example, there have been multiple times they have closed the room where the cat litter is, or left the plastic tracking mat up...which is not really ok, but would me more so if I didn't travel for business. On the final note, one of the biggest issues is Emilia herself. She is rude and crude, and her staff don't respect her. I've had my housekeepers get terminated for 'stealing her customers', which may just be their attempt to try to do a better job without the evil hammer from above. Also, when you bring up issues or requests with Emilia, you are most likely going to be given a smartass response, which is not what you need on a commodity service. All in all, there are way too many cleaners in this city, and there is no reason to put up with Emilia as your provider. read more

Twice. The first time scheduling and work was good. Not the best but good. I gave a 20 $tip and $10 more than was asked for...as the house was dirty. Second time scheduling was a disaster and the cleaning horrible. The woman who showed up seemed unsure of which room she was going to clean and really thought she just had to clean a room. She was also tired and seemed to have been made to take this booking at the very last minute. I gave very explicit instructions and so the two bedrooms were cleaned well the bathrooms were moderately well cleaned. when I came back, nothing in the kitchen and living room area had been cleaned including the counters the microwave the floors nothing... I did follow up with feedback. No excuse or apology or reimbusement was offered...poor management. I have found another cleaning group since. read more

We've been using Emilia's for a year now and are very pleased. The ladies are very sweet and efficient and do a great job taking care of all of the hair our dog leaves for them. Emilia is responsive to email questions and scheduling has never been an issue. Its about $10 per cleaning more than our prior service but being able to pay with credit card on line is priceless! Everyone will have different opinions about how someone else cleans their home and you will always find something that you see every day that someone in your house for 2-3 hours might miss (especially if it is a one time cleaning). But that's a small issue (and it rarely happens) when you take into consideration the price, consistency and trustworthiness of the service. Have no hesitation recommending this company. read more

Emilia was very professional and very quick to respond to my inquiry about having my house cleaned. She came over and gave me a free estimate which I felt was very reasonable. I was happy with the cleaning and the overall service. I was able to pay for the cleaning online, which was quick and easy! I would definitely use Emilia's service again! read more

I was thrilled to have Emilia's Cleaning service begin, especially with the handful of positive Yelp reviews. When she came in for a quote I thought she seemed pleasant and thorough. They use all of your own cleaning supplies and the only thing she asked me to buy was a different type of mop. Unfortunately, after my first and only cleaning, I was very dissatisfied. Multiple things she had told me would get cleaned, simply weren't. The bed was made sloppily, there was still mold in the shower and mildew on the whirlpool heads, the couch cushions hadn't been touched to clean the grime from between, the ceiling fans and light fixtures were covered in as much dust as I left them, and there were multiple other areas that hadn't been dusted. Not to mention, the mop was never even removed from the plastic. I brought this to Emilia's attention and was met with a confusing email simply excusing the poor cleaning job due to the fact that it was our first cleaning and our place was extremely dusty. Apparently, the woman did not have time to get to everything. Also, the reason the mop wasn't used (nevermind that I bought it because she told me to) was because she cleaned all of our hardwood floors on her hands and knees. Maybe if she had used the mop, she would have time to complete the rest of the cleaning. First of all, I clean my place pretty fastidiously and find it hard to believe that it was more than moderately dusty. Second of all, if your employee did not have time to get to everything, please let me know and offer a plan of attack for next time. I can't even begin to describe the confusion surrounding whether I paid (I did, with tip) because I'm still not sure what she was talking about. When I asked her to clarify, I got absolutely no response. I am the first to recommend a company with a good product and good service. Emilia's Cleaning, quite simply, has neither. read more

House Cleaning of the condo. 2 bedrooms, one full bathroom, one small bathroom with toilet only, the upstairs hall, the downstairs foyer, the kitchen, living/dining room, and the stairs leading to the basement. Our house is an easy clean, nothing is requested that would take extensive time or need extensive cleaning; it isn't a very big place. We primary focus on getting rid of the dust and the cat hair that accumulates. We typically request service on average every 5-6 weeks. There are only two people in the household. We've used Emilia's Cleaning service for around 4 years. The price is decent enough to have done regularly. I used to do it all myself, but because of time restraints, I'd prefer someone else do it. To do an extensively clean job, it would take me about 8 hours, especially if I thoroughly cleaned the house once every 6-8 weeks. The cleaning lady typically spends 3-4 hours here, but sometimes longer. In the 4+ years we've used the service, we've had several different cleaning ladies. This hasn't been much of a problem other than having to explain to a new person what we'd like accomplished. That's the nature of this business, so I understand. Lately we'd had the same young lady come to our house and she does a fantastic job. I would highly recommend Emilia's Cleaning service. As previoulsy mentioned, while we would like to always get the same person that we like, that's not always possible because employees do move around or find other jobs. I can't say enough good things about the owner. Sure, sometimes the cleaning lady might not be up to my expectations, but how much of that should be on the owner? Whenever I felt a complaint was justified ( I hate complaining, I really do, but when so many easy things are ignored or not done well, I have to comment), Emilia has always been apologetic and made things right. I'm confident that Emilia discusses her expectations with her cleaning staff. One of my concerns has always been whether the cleaing person will understand what I am telling her since most of them don't speak English as a first language. I think this has caused some miscommunications with some of the cleaning ladies in the past. But Emilia always reassures me that the lady she sends will understand me... and this has been the case for a good while now. It's important to me that I feel the cleaning person was not rushing to get to another job and therefore not putting forth the best effort in our place. So far, no problems with this. Bottom Line: I wouldn't always give the individual cleaning person an A, but I would definitly give Emilia an A because of the price, quality, puncuality, and professionalism. You won't be sorry for using this service. Emilia aims to please and make things as you would expect them. The young lady that has been to my home the last three times has been very thorough and friendly. Give Emilia's Cleaning a try!!!! read more

Awful customer service and poor communication (just read the owner's responses to Yelp reviews). Although I have worked with them in the past, Emilia backed out on my cleaning at the last minute. Her reason was because I didn't immediately return her email. She didn't even give me 12 hours to reply. That same day I emailed her asking her to lock it in, so I assumed it was confirmed. She replied and said she was scheduling it and asked for an address. I sent the address and she replied saying she was already booked. read more

The work done by Emilia's maids is adequate. Here's the issue: a don't-give-a-hoot as to scheduling. A maid who shows up an hour and fifteen minutes late--forcing you to choose between rearranging your schedule or postponing the service--is NOT what I'm looking for. Moreover, when I tried calling Emilia's to inquire about the maid, no one picked up. I left three voice mail messages before a human finally answered the phone. No real concern for the lack of contact or communication. Again, NOT what I'm looking for. read more

I hired Emilia to perform a move-out cleaning of a very dirty tenant apartment. She was incredible! She was professional from beginning to end. She was very accomodating to my schedule. When she was finished with the apartment, I did not recognize it! It was cleaned impeccably from top to bottom, inside and out. She even took down light fixtures and cleaned them. She washed walls, inside appliances, and shampooed the carpeting. She did cleaning I would not have thought to ask. I will not hesitate to recommend her for any sort of cleaning. I'm hoping to hire her again soon. read more

BEWARE of this service! Either they are running a scam or they are not familiar with their technology. They have had my credit card on file and have run an automatic payment AND charged me manually resulting in double charges, or charges for cleanings I did not receive, three months in a row. Emilia seems nice on the phone but has failed to return my call or credit my account. I had different cleaners each time, because they clearly have high turnover. I had to explain the process to each one. All but one of the cleaners were nice, competent and made the house feel very good and clean. But the financial side of this is business is disorganized, discouraging and untrustworthy. read more

Used the service for the first time this morning. While she was on time and polite, the apartment is no cleaner. She did not come with any cleaning equipment, so had to make due with my little swifter. Some places were clearly not cleaned or touched, other places like my refrigerator are dripping because she used too much cleaning solution. There are spots where there are clumps of dog hair on the carpet. I have not yet done a full walk through of the apartment, mainly because I will get too upset for wasting 85 dollars, but I am sure there are other problems. read more

I am still fuming discovering things that were STOLEN by one of Emila's employees last year, over time and of highest value of things I owned. We had a cleaning woman named Monica, who we thought was the best one we had ever had. My mother also used her. We were so sad and upset to find out that she would be "moving back to Poland" and would not clean for us anymore. It was not until 5 months later after her last visit to us that I began to realize little bits at a time, all of the things that were missing, things we did not use or look for every day but eventually needed and realized were stolen. My daughter's Tiffany necklace that was a special gift, my wedding ring (from a previous marriage so not something I would look for to wear but was in my jewelry dish on my dresser), my other daughter's ipod that she is still looking for it all over the house (bless her heart, she is five and thinks she misplaced it), my Patagonia vest, my daughter's Patagonia sweatshirt, a book for Spanish verbs which was clearly in my bathroom, but I am not a detailed person so it was not until my daughter took Spanish class this year and we started looking for it did we really remember it has been in the bathroom that months she was cleaning here. The list goes on but you get my point. But ojh yeah just this week-now that weather is turing cold we have been looking for my daughter's Ugg boots and her Sorel boots that she got last year and were over $200.00 each. I sent Emeila an email explaining all of this as soon as I began to realize what had happened and she refused to accept responsibility for her employee and had the NERVE to say that maybe my nanny or my daughters' friends had taken them. She also said that she did not "feel comfortable" sending the girl I was using after Monica anymore since I was always "accusing her girls" of things. I guess what she was referring to was the first time I used the company she sent two women who dropped my daughter's pearl charm from a necklace that had been sitting on her desk on the floor and then vacuumed it up. It was only after my nanny went digging in the dirty vacuum bag to find the necklace did we know that they had not stolen it but were mindless about their work. Emilia herself is rude, and has no business running a business. She is lucky I did not press charges since it took me so many months to find all of these missing things she and her criminal worker Monica got away with. For all that I lost in material things and monetary funds, I am cleaning my house myself these days- looking for someone trustworthy. Really burned. read more

Now that we have been using Emilia's services for roughly a year, it's time for a review. Our initial contact with Emilia was very positive. She was extremely responsive and accomodating when it came to setting up an initial appointment, her price was very competitive, and there were no hidden fees or hourly charges. The fee is a flat fee which changes depending on the frequency of the service (more frequent, less per cleaning). Since we hired Emilia, our experience has been nothing but positive. She has sent the same employee each and every time, and she has done a wonderful job. If we need to add a service that is not included in the base price, e.g. refrigerator cleaning, it is done very professionally and the price is reasonable. Additionally, Emilia will always respond within hours, if not minutes, when we have to make a schedule change and she is always accomodating. We will continue to use Emilia's service as long as we own our home, and we recommend her to anyone looking for a thorough cleaning service. read more

There is a minimum cleaning of 3 hours at $40 per hour. The cleaning person was at my condo 2.5 hours and the shower doors, tub floor, kitchen sink, refrigerator were left dirty. When I questioned the person about what was cleaned they replied that there was not enough time to complete the cleaning. How is that possible when the person has 30 minutes remaining to complete the service? Also stated on the form is you will receive a call if all items cannot be cleaned and additional time is required. I didn't receive a call. When I asked to discuss this with the manager, he never called and I was simply charged for the incomplete service. They offered to redo the cleaning but there was not time since I had scheduled Aug 30 and they rescheduled for Aug 31, the morning my tenant was moving in. Having spent a few days cleaning up after the cleaning lady, I must say, be careful using this service. To give some concrete examples: used matches removed from the base of a lamp and placed in the crystal bowl that holds matchbooks - without cleaning or dusting the lamp or the table the bowl and lamp were on (really, generally, no dusting); very obvious failure to vacuum (i.e., good sized vacuumable items left on the ground) in numerous places, all around the house; failure to replace garbage bags after removing dirty ones when replacements were at the bottom of the bin; actual dirt left on windowsills; dirty dishes and plates left everywhere; dirty cutting boards and colanders stuffed into a cabinet with clean baking dishes; I almost broke my coffee maker because when I tried to pick it up, it slipped out of my hands (FYI - metal cleaner doesn't go on plastic and you don't leave things that have to be washed 5 times with soap and water to get them clean again when you are cleaning someone's home); actually made the laundry room messier; left cleaning supplies in the middle of our carpet; sinks not cleaned; bathroom floor dirty, etc. Point being, I hire a cleaning lady so I don't have to worry about basic cleaning, not so I can ponder what would lead someone to stuff my hair dryer and dirty clothes into a magazine rack and then leave a computer mouse on the floor next to a desk. I have neither the time nor energy to explain in detail all of these things to someone and I don't think one should have to. I gather from the owner's response to an earlier comment that she disagrees. Caveat emptor, I suppose, and if I had more complex and unusual needs, I could understand, but I don't believe basic vacuuming is something complex or unusual. REPLY TO OWNER: I did not post this under the wrong listing. You came to our home and this was our experience. We specifically found your listing on yelp and this is why we called you. It was the worst cleaning I have ever seen on a home. read more
