I'd say I'm a loyal Emerald city smoothie customer. I frequent this location and the locations on Issaquah post gym. I've been coming to them more often since they've incorporated vegan / plant based proteins, easy modifications and no charges. I love their vegan dream, but I find it to be too sweet so my go to is the Emerald modified with chocolate plant-based protein. my husband loves the nutty Banana modified vegan as his go to with all the best ingredients especially if you love peanut butter. Every time I go, everyone is so friendly helpful making it easy to wanna come back. The other thing is that they're really fast at making their smoothies and if you didn't know, they have a loyalty program with your phone number. Now, why did I give them four stars? Well, they can be a little bit inconsistent with their smoothies and smoothie bowls. one thing as of the last 12 months is that I've noticed all of it to be heavy on the ice. Which means it's a watered down flavor. I don't mind ice in my smoothies and I don't mind water over alternatives like milk or juice. I actually prefer it, however I don't want my smoothie or my smoothie bowl to taste plain. read more

Love this place! My go-to used to be the Peaches and Greens but lately I've been loving the Mango Mania as well! The smoothies are always delicious and they have tons of options (probiotics, vitamins, protein powder, etc.) you can add to them! I have owed these guys a review for a long time now. I have been drinking their smoothies since the shop in Redmond first opened (family friends). They have always turned out a high quality, delicious product. I think at some point I have probably tried every drink on the menu. My current drink of choice is The Emerald, with peanut butter. I drink this one primarily to get more greens, without a lot of carbs that I don't need. The employees tend to be on the younger side of the age spectrum, but they all seem well versed in the importance of customer service. Really love their açaí bowls and would highly recommend getting their banana berry crunch! It's so good and filling. The one thing I find really annoying is if you, someone you're with, or someone in front of you or behind you orders the same thing (at least with açaí bowls), you get less of it. I've noticed this multiple times. For example, I'm with my friends and were deciding what to order. My one friend orders an açaí bowl. My other friend and I let others go in front of us because we're still deciding. Then, we also decide to order the same açaí bowl. My first friend's order comes out and her bowl is full to the rim. My friend and I's bowl comes out later, the one we ordered at the same time, and our bowls are 75% full and the friend who ordered first pointed that out. It's annoying that they give you less because they're making it at the same time. Other than that, it's a really good place with good prices. I come here all the time. read more

Great smoothies, high prices (but all these types of places have high prices). I'm particularly impressed with this location. The female employee who was working late afternoon on Saturday (7/15) was terrific. She handled our two teenagers, particularly helping my 16 year old make a decision for his drink. This employee made the visit a great experience and I'm remiss for not getting her name. People like this, who have a helpful positive attitude, really improve the experience. We bought bannan mania smoothie the small one 14oz and banana berry crunch bowl. It's lil pricey and Not worth the money. It's around 23$ total. Mango has a bitter after taste. And bowl was okayish average. Their granolas are not good, they literally have just the oats which hard to chew and other topping was nt that impressive. read more

I bought a açaí bowl. It was the worst açaí bowl ever. It was melted and gross. I took a couple bites and threw it away. Do not buy acai from this place. Buy it from Kitanda. I wish Emerald City Smoothie would be more transparent. They make our orders, and we don't even know what they put in it. We can't see a thing. My experience today brought the rating down. I've had awesome experiences every time but tonight wasn't it. I came in at 7:50, yeah, it was 10 minutes before close but getting turned away 10 minutes before is a bit odd. I come in all the time after my workout and always felt welcomed. I barely got a sorry- all I got was an "he's the last customer" right when I walked through the door. I get that it was 10 minutes before closing but even be closed at 8 if you're turning customers down before actual closing? Is it because the employees need to be out by 8? Don't usually write reviews, but honestly this acai bowl was the worst I've ever had - so watery that it tastes like they ran out of acai and had to add ice for volume. The granola somehow has a popcorn after taste, only things salvageable from this $11 purchase are the bananas. Not worth at all, try Jamba Juice of HBC instead. read more
