Which I take as a good sign, and all I wanted was a sweep done and nothing major so the wait was no problem. I was told I would get a call within a certain timeframe, I did, and the service guy even texted me to let me know what was going on as he was running just a hair late. Unlike other companies who just leave you hanging around wondering what's going on and not answering when you call to see what's up, so I appreciated that. The thing that sold me though was that when the guy, Ryan, got here and took a look into our chimney, he asked how often we used it and how long we'd lived in the house and et cetera. So after hearing my answers, he nodded and said the chimney was super clean and that he would get me a card so I could call him in another two years to take another look at it because there was no need to do anything this time. He could have just went on about his way and "cleaned" and took his time and I would have been none the wiser to it. That honesty is hard to come by these days. Will definitely be hanging onto his card to have him come back out. The *only* complaint I have is that they don't accept card payments, so you'll need to find a check or go to the bank to get the cash you were quoted. Even then that's only because they're a small business and the fees for the card stuff is crazy. So. Yea. :)

When Kevin arrived on time he explained what he was going to do and put down drop cloths and brought in his equipment. The cleaning was done from the fireplace to the top of the chimney. I do not use my wood-burning fireplace on a regular basis, but it had been seven years since it had been cleaned and desperately needed attention. He even removed the wood I had loaded for my next fire and then proceeded to remove the damper for access to the flu. Within a half an hour everything was done and there was no dust whatsoever in the house. He then proceeded to go up on the roof and check the top of the chimney and found that I had some cracks in the crown of the chimney. He took photographs and explained what needed to be done. During their service, the technician removed components from my wood stove and failed to reinstall a cotter pin that secures the front air tube. As a result, the air tube fell down while red hot during near-zero temps when we depend on the stove for heat. I burned myself trying to get it back in place while a fire was active, and I had to deal with an urgent mess at the worst possible time of year. The air tube fell on a log and rolled within inches of the glass, I contacted the company immediately with photos. The owner admitted the technician had been making "a few mistakes recently," yet the situation was downplayed. Ultimately I had to fix it myself because I couldn't wait in freezing conditions and risk further damage. Their idea of "making it right"? A $100 coupon for a future service. After the disruption and the negligence, I'm not trusting them in my home again--so a coupon is meaningless. What really sealed it: The owner's response was condescending and dismissive, telling me I "blew this way out of proportion" and that my understanding was "flawed," instead of taking accountability for a simple but critical failure to reassemble equipment correctly. I compare it to getting your tires rotated and the tech forgetting to put the lugs back on. If you value competent workmanship, urgency when something goes wrong, and professional customer service, AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. I never received a call, all communication was handled via email. There was 0 accountability for the issue and to quote: "you've blown this way out of proportion" and "your understanding of how things work in a stove is flawed, but that's ok, and is typical of may consumers and that's why we're here. After calling and emailing about three times, I finally spoke to someone who sent over the estimate, but they never called to schedule the repair. I feel like I just wasted $380. The fireplace was at-lest turning on before, and after they came out, it won't even turn on. This was during a week when temperatures were below freezing. Luckily, our power didn't go out. There was no customer service at all. Very disappointed.
