Absolutely Love this place!!! Best place for refreshing drinks with boba in TOWN!! Great atmosphere and delicious desserts.

I got some Emtea today in the afternoon and they ran out of boba. They said it would take 20 minutes to get some boba and I was willing to wait. When I got my drink, the boba was undercooked and hard at the center. I expected the boba to be ready and soft. It made my drink hard to finish and I mostly only drank the liquid and threw the rest of the boba out. I hope my next visit to Emtea will be more pleasant, this is one of the better boba places in Merced. read more

I'm visiting from out of town and was craving a milk tea. This place is amazing! I love the attention to detail. In my town the milk tea is pre made. I was taken by surprise when the wonder cashier said they make them fresh. If I didn't live 5 hours away this would have become my new spot! This place is truly amazing! read more

I love how the "tea-tenders" as I like to call them greet you as soon as you walk in. This is a very clean, fresh modern establishment. Now this is not a place where you get the crazy desserts/ice cream (such as sno-crave), this is more focused on serving quality, fresh tea. The tea selections are fantastic and taste fresh! I live in the Bay Area and often go to tea houses, and this one is actually one of my favorites! Merced definitely needed this! I love the jasmine milk tea with boba (duh) and the hot lavender green milk tea is also super cozy. My go to item is the Lavender Latte!! OMG IT IS AWESOME. I also had the lemon macaroon and it was so yummy!!!! I will continue to come the Em, not only because I enjoy the atmosphere, but because it also is so close to the house! With UC Merced so close it only makes sense to have a tea house this close. If your reading this review and contemplating on trying this place, do yourself a favor and try it. This is most likely my favorite boba/tea house now since it is so affordable and close to my university. I love the way they make their boba, it tastes amazing. I have been to many other boba stores in other locations besides Merced on trips and this shop definitely has the best! I would definitely recommend this to everyone to try. read more

Love this place. It has been a everyday stop for me. My favorite is the taro. The only think I wish they would fix is the consistency of the boba. They are a little to hard. Other then that, everything else about this place is wonderful. Great people and clean environment. read more

I'm writing a review based on just my part of our order. I ordered a medium iced lavender with boba, and was fine with waiting for 6 minutes for my tea to brew. My partners part of the order was a medium honeydew with boba and that was very yummy (we ended up splitting this). Well, if anyone has had a floral tea than you know you don't want to steep it for too long unless you want to feel like to just put the fresh flower right in your mouth and started to eat it!! I had to go back to the counter and ask what happened to my tea because the rush of people that came in were getting their orders and enjoying them! I told him it was almost 30 minutes since I ordered and still have yet to see my tea. He asked the girl and she pointed to a pitcher with an egg timer on it which was apparently my tea, that looked very dark. He said he would fix it for me, so I sat back down and tried to just stay calm since they're young and it got busy. I finally was told my tea was ready! I hoped he thought to rebrew it, but nope! I took one drink and that was such a HUGE letdown ON TOP of having waited by that time almost 40 MINUTES for tea!!!!!!! I went back to the counter to tell them I wanted a refund but they were still scrambling around like crazy and I was trying to not completely loose my temper since I wanted to try to enjoy the last few hours of my night before my partner starts another grueling week of work! I'm so upset though because we told him when we went in that this was our first visit, so you would think they would want to make an extra effort! They didn't even acknowledge that I came back to the counter again or try to stop me as I left leaving the terrible tea next to his register!!! LOVE this place!! So cool how they put their tea in light bulb shaped glasses. Their drinks taste amazing! By far my fav tea place. A little pricey (if you end up purchasing with the light bulb glasses) for boba tea but the flavor is amazing. Love this! I had tried this place for the first time and have already been back 3x and was amazed. I've only had regular boba drinks at certain locations throughout Merced. As a first timer, ordering was a bit overwhelming/confusing but the staff was very helpful. I normally get a regular coconut boba, so here ordering including black tea, normal sweetness with boba. The flavor really comes to life! It taste so pure and fresh. This is my new favorite place for tea. Be sure to ask about their reward card to get stamped! read more

The drinks are great but THAT WAIT TIME! I gave them many chances and tried different drinks, thinking "today just might be a bad or busy day" or "it might be my drink that is complicated," but most drinks seem to take at least 10 minutes. A wifi code is given and while I waited for my drink, decided to work on a class assignment. Put in the wifi code and almost every educational site was inaccessible. read more

I'm paying the full price yet the owner has refused to fill my order unless I buy it her way which forces me to buy 2 drinks. This place is good compared to the ones in Merced; however it is really inconsistent. I've been here several times and have ordered the same drink but it tastes really different every time. I would order milk tea but they would make my order without milk most of the time, so make sure you emphasis you want the milk with your tea. read more

Huge selection of teas with all the fixings. Hipster vibe inside even though it's in a strip mall & free wifi. Large servings, a little pricey though. I liked that they offered a "tea party" platter - could be a fun thing to do with kids or adults. They did offer coffees but not a large choice. This is easily the best tea in town - amazing selection and everything I've tried tastes great. There are endless flavored and mix-ins to experiment with if you're feeling adventurous. If you add a flavor, I don't think it's necessary to add any sweetener. I learned that the hard way. First off I absolutely love their teas and friendly customer service. I have been here a few times and have never had a problem until now. Long freakin story short, they messed up my order and I waited 1hr and a half! ! ! for a flippin drink! ! Even a restaurant doesn't take that long to serve a three course meal. And I ended up leaving without my correct order anyway! Cause who knows how much longer it would have taken. I must have seen a dozen people get there after me and leave before me. It was my husbands first time there and a very horrible one at that. But he says he'll give it another try because his tea was "bomb.com" lol. Anywho if you have nothing better to do on a Friday night then wait and hour and a half in a crowded tiny tea shop with nowhere to even sit for a drink that you might not even get, then this place is for you. Cute little Tea House near Raley's. Great spot for college kids to hangout and relax. Good prices and friendly service. Merced needed a good Bubble Tea place and EM Tea really hits the spot if you're craving boba tea. They have a really nice selection of tea flavors and the tea is not too sweet. 10/10 reccomend coming here. Never had a bad experience. Just a tip though be careful when asking about the sweetness. If you wanna play it safe, order the light or no sweetness and add the sweetener yourself that they offer near the door for you.
