Sure it's a little pricey for a boba, but they brewed the tea fresh. We had to wait a few minutes but well worth it. My wife got us a fruity drink with refreshing aloe Vera chunks. After days at Autocamp, this drink is like a sip of water after being in the desert. The ambiance is standard for your typical boba store. We got ours Togo and the large form factor of the drink hid a special surprise for the kiddos.

The staff is incredibly friendly with questions and if you don't like your drink they'll remake it for you. The inside is a little small but cute place to hangout with friends. I like that they added a point system for perks like a free drink because I'd always lose the punch cards. I like their macaroons & fruity teas the most, very fresh !

I got a large boba milk tea with extra boba. The taste of it was different from the usual because I tasted a hint of cinnamon in the drink which I don't mind. But it's not common to have in most boba milk teas. It's a nice environment and setting. Worker was nice and friendly! Super fast too. Would come back to try different drinks.

the menu/ordering process is extremely confusing. and why is the cheese foam at the bottom...it tastes weirdly artificial as well i wouldn't recommend it at all. they gave me almost no ice so that's probably why it sunk to the bottom and made the drink very cloudy. the roasted oolong tea is good though and probably tastes better without the foam. i hope the owner can reflect on this as constructive criticism.

Was in the area visiting a friend in Med school. Super glad she found this place on Yelp ranked top boba places in Merced! The flavors were strong and amazing. Servers were kind and provided great recommendations. Scenery inside the store was beautiful and clean. It was properly a/c'd inside as outside was super hot. One customer returned a drink and said to remake as it was super sweet for her. We had no issues with our drinks. (5/5) Lychee Iced Black Tea -- super refreshing on this scorching hot day. (5/5) Taste of Love --- amazing drink that was blended and kept us cool. It had Yakult in it with raspberry purée and taro. We also added Taro Boba. We 100% will definitely be back if ever we're in the area on our way down to SoCal from SF. Keep making them dranks ---EM Tea! My boyfriend and I had a convo that 2 EMTs/paramedics opened the boba shop up together. Cool name!

The service was bad. The lady wrote "cunta" as my name on the cup. She wasn't very friendly at all. This was my first time there and it was horrible and not to mention the matcha milk tea is disgusting and to watery. I will never be coming back here!

Honestly the best boba shop in Merced! Conveniently located in Raley's plaza so that you can grab some boba to sip on while grocery shopping and open relatively late so that you can do some late night studying! It's a very cute vibe: I like the wall decor, they play lively pop/kpop music, it's well lit, it smells amazing, and the staff are very pleasant. They have a huge menu for their drinks! My usual go to are the iced Thai milk tea with boba, iced rose milk tea with boba, and (if you're looking for a non-caffeinated dessert drink) a coconut mango slush with lychee jelly. If you're not much of a sweet-tooth, they have the option for you to add light syrup so that it's not so sweet. I also really enjoy the boba. The texture is very soft and chewy: this shop hands-down makes the best boba pearls around! Aside from the drinks, they also have other desserts, like the macaroons! I really enjoy the macaroons, especially the vanilla and pistachio flavors!

I love Em-Tea so much!! I come here every time I'm in Merced. Great service! It's a cozy place with great vibes. It's got board games too.

The atmosphere is awesome. I wish this place existed when I was in college. It had plenty of room to set up for studying. It has a corner with games, which makes it a cool little spot to meet with friends. I deducted one of the stars because we were looking really forward to getting Mochi donuts - the whole reason for our trip- and they were out! (With no information on the frequency in which they are made/sold) The teas on the other hand were delish! (It was 29.66 for our 4 drinks today)

In the middle of Merced, we found a great Boba tea place. I consider myself a boba connoisseur, and this place was a surprise find. Their teas have great flavor and they have a wide variety of toppings. I got a standard black tea with their cheese foam and boba. My wife got their rose tea which is specially brewed with their taro boba and it was on point. They have many flavors and specialty teas that they brew fresh. In the middle of a hot Merced summer of 100 degrees, these drinks hit the spot! We will definitely be back when we visit our daughter who is at UC Merced.

It's all ice. It's too expensive for such little amount of tea. I will say I enjoy the "tea" and that is why I've gone here but, this time around it was way too much ice. I'm not paying this much again for ice with a splash of tea.

It's been a long while since I last visited Em Tea! I remember frequenting this place as a student. Yet during all those times I had never tried the Bee yo self drink. I'm glad after all this time I finally did and it was delicious! I love a slushy yogurt drink and the honey added a perfect level of sweet to that tartness. It was really refreshing and surprisingly so filling. This is probably my new go to whenever I visit now :D My bf got the taro milk tea w/ cheese foam and it was really great too. I've had some cheese foam drinks in the bay area and they can be really salty sometimes and ruin the milk tea but this went really well with the taro I think. Also ummmmmm I'm obsessed with the little bear ears on the lid... SO CUTE

Coming from LA I was so excited to hear about this boba place! Went in and got an original black milk tea with normal sweetness and it was perfect! I've tried the Thai tea and also the matcha milk tea and they were both really good. Did not have to wait long and my drinks came out pretty quick which is great. The cup sizes are also great and I also love the atmosphere of this place and how it's decorated. Milk tea was so delicious I went back again before the drive back to LA. Definitely coming back next time I'm in the area. read more

Love their drinks, they are very flavorful and huge. The price is cheaper than a Starbucks Frappuccino. They have so many teas and flavors to mix with. My favorite is the "PMS"...lol (peach, mango, strawberry) with green tea and milk. My kids love to go here each week. Highly recommend. read more

This place can be good. However, many of the employees are very poorly trained. As in they are business focused on tea, and several employees haven't known what herbal teas are or which teas have caffeine. They also advertise that they are about customizing their drinks to their customers. However, they frequently say, "we don't do this one as a slush," or "that one doesn't come with milk." My wife and I have about a 50/50 rate of getting what we want from them. When we get what we ask for, it's a really good place. The other half of the time, it's a waste of money. read more

The servers need to smile more. I feel like a burden when I walk into this place. I've gone a few times just to give the benefit of the doubt but it never fails. The tea is okay. I've had to have them make a couple of them over again because it tasted like regular milk and no tea. The lavender tea I had recently was pretty good. I do like that the tea is made fresh but they really have to work on their customer service. However, I will not be going back anymore. read more

Pretty decent milk tea joint. We always get the roasted oolong milk tea with boba. I gave 3 stars because all of their other different flavors tend to all have this thick sweet syrupy after taste after drinking so much of it. This is the exact same syrupy texture/taste in almost every flavor drink I have already tried. Which is why I stick to the basic teas without the different flavors (lavender, rose, etc....). They also have a stamp card rewards program. Free drink after 10 purchased drinks. read more

Every time we come here we love it! We always get our drinks super fast and I love the way they have a very simple menu with easy steps and lots of flavor options. Wide variety of options. Creative combination of drinks and flavors. Usually get the coconut slush with coffee jelly or taro with boba and they are alright. Great costumer service! Another customer accidentally drank from my drink and I was given an apology from the team as well as a free macaroon as compensation for the mix up. Good place to hang. read more

Great little tea place with lots of choices. Place also open pretty late. A little more pricer than quickly, and dont offer any hot food. But they have cakes and such. When you get hot tea, they make it with actual tea leaf so very nice, but u will have to wait a little. Highly recommend this place read more

I love the drinks and how easy I can order what I want and how I like it. Easy to customize any drink to your preference. However every time I order lately, the past 5 times I've been here. It takes about 20 minutes from the time I order to the time I get my drink. That is too long of a wait for one drink. They've got to step it up before I look elsewhere. read more

I ordered the 3 mini cookies with Valentine's M&M, Molten Lava Cake, and Chocolate Covered Strawberry. The next time I ordered Pineapple Whip, Strawberry Crumb Cake, and Chocolate Sea Salt Toffee. All of these cookies were so amazing. Overpriced, but addictive. So fresh. So delicious. So perfect. It's hard to choose a favorite, but if I had to, out of these six flavors, my favorite was the Pineapple Whip. Customer service was alright. I usually just order on the kiosk. It never takes more than a few minutes to get the cookies. Would Def stop by this location again.

EM-tea is as good as T pump in San Francisco. Came all the way from the bay to visit a friend in Merced , I found EM-tea is just too good and too advanced. I love their knowledge about tea. They separate milk and premium tea, so that customers can taste the actual tea itself. Whoever hate EM tea probably has no idea what's the culture of tea. I ordered Guangxi jasmine green, it just totally blew my mind. The taste was so refreshing with strong jasmine flower taste inside. They brewed the tea in the right way. It looked amazing as well. Besides, I love their cute and modern little decor and jazz music as the background. I wish I can stay in Merced for a longer time, so I can try their high tea with my friends. 5 star for EM-tea. I was not impressed with my visit to Em-Tea. The drinks were underwhelming and didn't have the flavor or quality I expected from a boba shop. The boba itself was just okay, and nothing about the menu really stood out. The service was average at best, and overall the experience didn't give me a reason to come back. With so many boba shops in the area, there are definitely better options nearby that offer tastier drinks and a more enjoyable experience. Kinda of a regular went today 8/10/23 and was disappointing young lady who didn't like Marvel characters didn't want to call Dr. doom. She has no soul no sense of humor and no color in her life. I love going to this place I'm addicted to it yet employees like that suck. Their shop was finally opened last Saturday! Their logo is so cute, also I love their simple and modern decor. Their drinks are right on point, how I can choose my sweetness level and tea selection. My most favorite tea is the premium Taiwan mountain, because it has a very strong tea taste and very healthy! I can drink tea here all day long. Got the taro boba and loved it, not too sweet. Boba is a little too hard though. This is a popular place for UCM students to hang out as well as high school kids. Nice to finally see a legitimate boba establishment in the 209 still does not compare to some of the best I've had (Coco, Half & Half, Volcano, etc) but will suffice my cravings for the time being read more

I go here often! This is just unacceptable! They Mrs up my order, all 3 drinks. I asked them to kindly fix them and I waited patiently. These drinks cost a lot! I should not be missing this much! I personally believe they should have replaced the cup. I don't understand why they write on the cups if they can't get the orders right. read more

This place is very laid back, the staff is friendly and they always play good music. The drinks are good and they don't disappoint. I suggest coming here and not quickly. What can i say, jazz, art, tea, everything is so unique in Merced. Saw people order high tea (within a bird cage), looked amazing. I ordered mango/pinapple/passionfruit green tea, it was delicious, like no other place has that strong tea taste boba drink. its my New go-to spot in Merced now. read more

For boba in Merced this is decent. However, because I'm from the 626 (LA area) my standards are pretty high so I wasn't all that impressed. The milk tea was a tad bit too sweet and the boba too hard but overall I would return especially since options are fairly limited here read more
