I paid $160 on September 17th, and by September 28th my nails were already chipped and broken. On top of that, they tried to charge me an extra $80 just for the gel builder itself, which would've brought my total to $240 -- way too much for nails that didn't even last two weeks. The nail tech was very sweet, so I don't blame her, but the salon's pricing and quality don't match up. My nails were filed so thin that they hurt, and for what I paid, the results were extremely disappointing. Now I'll have to spend another $120 to fix my nails elsewhere -- but I'll gladly do it knowing I'm paying for quality that actually lasts. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this salon. . read more

I've been here a couple of times before and had a great experience but today was really weird and bizarre, my Manicure was just not looking good so I said something a couple of times and the lady seemed irritated with me, I thought I said it politely and I apologized and then other staff members kept giving me weird looks like I had done something wrong and I don't understand what I did wrong by speaking up? Avoid this salon at all costs. I had an awful experience at this salon. The technician who worked on my pedicure clearly had no experience and was completely incompetent. Instead of a proper cuticle trim, she aggressively cut and dug into my nails below the nail bed, causing both toes to bleed profusely. The other technicians tried to stop the bleeding by wrapping towels around my foot. Management was no help at all and instead blamed me for the technician's lack of skill. I had to leave the salon barefoot because I couldn't wear a shoe due to the bleeding. I expected a relaxing and professional service, but this was the complete opposite. Now I'm concerned about a possible infection. I managed to reach the owner later that day, but he was in total denial and also seemed to blame me for what the technician did. read more

I discovered Em Nail Salon in my adventures around South Beach. It resides on 9th and Alton on the West side of South Beach. I had previously tried a different salon in the area which I hadn't been too thrilled with, so I was on the hunt for a new staple nail salon. I had an appointment for 11am on a Sunday and arrived a little bit early. Even though business hours technically hadn't started yet (they open at 12pm on Sundays), the door was unlocked and they started my right away. My nail tech, Yasmine, was super attentive to detail and took special care to not to damage my real nail upon taking off the previous dip manicure. The previous manicure (done elsewhere) had been so thick and it bothered me, so Yasmine ensure to make them not too thick, yet still strong. My blue French dip manicure came out exactly as I wanted. EM Nail Salon has been on a downward decline for a long time, but until yesterday's experience, I was willing to let it slide because this is certainly the most convenient nail salon for where I live. But the way my friend and I were treated yesterday was the last straw. We had appointments for pedicures at 11:45am, which were made and confirmed online (since no one at this place has answered the phone for months). Upon timely arrival, we were immediately met with attitude from the staff, who essentially told us that our confirmed appointments didn't matter. After 5 minutes of waiting, we were told they were "running 10 minutes late" and invited to come back in the afternoon. At that point, the staff became rude and aggressive towards us, blaming us and the salon owner for confirming our appointments at the time allotted, and saying "they don't control how the scheduling is done." Being on the receiving end of such unwarranted attitude and aggression was the last straw. And to add insult to injury, I received an email cancellation that my 12pm appointment with "Karen" was cancelled shortly after we left (not only was this the incorrect time for my appointment, but it was also seeming effort to further aggrieve the situation to change the tech's name to "Karen" when submitting the cancellation (in the system they claim not to control)) (photo included). I'd been a loyal customer of EM Nail Salon since they opened over a decade ago (to wit: my original review from 13+ years ago). On Dec. 24 I went for pedicure and the lady cut my foot with a metal file. I felt pain and the foot bleed. I told the lady who was doing my foot and the one that was standing behind the counter that they should throw the metal file in the garbage, cos it could hurt more people, they looked at me like I am a crazy lady. Hopefully with places like GlossLab coming to Miami, establishments like EM Nail will find themselves losing clientele. I went to Em Nail Salon with a friend to get a manicure before a cruise. We didn't have appointments but they were happy to take us and made us feel welcome. I originally wanted a bright, tropical color but I settled on a green chrome. WOW! Rosio did a fantastic job! I don't think i've ever been this happy with how a manicure turned out. She was very meticulous and nice and even offered me tea during my manicure. My friend got a pedicure from another technician and was very happy with it. I usually head to Miami once a year to take a cruise and get away from the winter blues in NYC. I plan on making a trip to Em Nail Salon a tradition from now on! read more

Had a great experience today at EM Nail Salon. It's so hard finding a nail salon with consistently good technicians especially when you're in a new state but I am very happy I found this one. It's close to where I'm staying so I was able to walk, even though it did seem like there was a lot of parking around the business. I had called in the morning to see what time I could go in to get an acrylic fill and pedicure and they told me that it was kind of busy so I could probably only get the pedicure. I went in around 4 and they told me that they actually could get my fill and pedicure done today which I was so happy about because that's one less thing I have to do tomorrow. Overall, I am very happy because they did a great job, everyone was very nice & the business has been there for a long time, so I think I've found my new nail spot. read more
