I use to frequent Elysium every Sunday for its 80's night. The music mix is spot-on especially after 12:30 or so. It also gets more crowded as the night progresses. Cover is $4 and worth it in my opinion. Drink prices have dropped since I went a couple of years ago. The club has undergone some renovations over the years and for the better. Mirrors were added, benches replaced some chairs and tables, and stalls were added in the women's restroom. Elysium is definitely back on my radar for Sunday dancing! Also, if you have never been to Elysium, you should check it out even if it is just for the people watching. All kinds of people-goths, hipster, nerds, etc-flock to this 80's night. The diverse group are probably regulars on other nights. Elysium welcomes the gay community as well. If you come on a day other than Sunday, Elysium might be featuring djs, midwave night, or live goth, synth, or indie music. I've been going here off and on since 2012. Its still just as fun as ever and it's the only place I ever plan a night out of dancing at. The music is always on point, the drinks are strong, the crowd is a bunch of super fun, easy going people and each sunday night is 100% a new, memorable experience every time. Everyone talks about Sunday night 80s night, and it's true ... super fun. Only thing really worth doing on Sunday nights. Dance to "Radio Ga Ga" (instead of Lady Gaga), dance to Billy Idol (instead of Kanye West), dance to "Billie Jean" (instead of "Single Ladies") ... no hip hop where white girls in too-tight dresses try to do that booty-vibration thing, where it seems like they are trying to achieve perpetual motion with their ass. Easy to cut loose and just have a good time with music that actually doesn't suck. Very friendly people come there too. After a year of coming off and on there's always someone there I know to chat with, and I always meet people, especially if I dress outlandishly enough. Be careful about getting TOO friendly, though, or you might get drawn into some goth-kid drama. read more

Yeah, I'm the freak out there dancing to almost everything a couple of Sunday nights! A shout out goes to DJ Pumpkin Spice for a great solid effort. An older woman DJ. Unheard of! Good for her. But, you can almost set your watch to what she's going to play. I'm an 80s (new wave) child. So, when I go out to dance at a new wave/retro DANCE club, I'm not going there to listen to Motley Crue, "Girls, Girls, Girls" or other heavy metal tunes. I did enjoy the Billy Idol look alike, his gal friend middle aged Goth Chic and the whole crew in the furry jackets. By the way, just say no, if they try to sell you acid and/or X. They take rejection okay. However, always Austin, love you for being laid back. Everyone was out there just to have fun and dance! No one was a jerk at all! My favorite place in Austin. Elysium is pretty much everything a dance club should be...full of interesting looking people, an out of the mainstream soundtrack with a dark, maybe mysterious, atmosphere. The music and the crowed has a definite industrial bent, but to label the place as goth or industrial would be missing it. Elysium has great theme nights ("Madchester"), has great parties (the New Year's Eve Black and White Ball was off the chain...heard the Steampunk Ball was a lot of fun too but i missed it) and is also a great place to a see a show...large enough for an act to really bring it but small enough to still be intimate. The staff is great and the crowd is one of the friendliest I've come across. The resident DJs regularly give you something nostalgic and brand new in the same night. Sundays' Regression, Elysiums's 80's night, is incredibly popular and a really good time, but I think Saturday's Haven, is one of the best times in Austin...they always seem to crescendo in all of the right ways. Wow. Elysium can certainly cure you of your delusions of attractiveness. If you go with an ultra-hot friend and expect to get hit on by hipsters, that is. My ultra-hot friend, Megan, and I ended up here after spinning records at the new "Church of Round Sound" (record-player party) event (every first and third Sunday of each month) at Longbranch Inn. Yeah, I know I said I wouldn't touch Longbranch again with a long branch, but there weren't very many hipsters there last night, so it was tolerable. Megan told me that Elysium was having an '80s night last night, and asked if I wanted to go. Well, she pays close attention to what records I play, boys and girls, so I emphatically answered, "YES!" And off we went in my car. Upon entrance, Megan introduced me to the doorman and bartenders, and some of the patrons, so I felt I had an *in*. Megan and I each got a drink and ventured out to the dance floor. This is where things fall apart for me. And it's not Elysium's fault. I don't even dare say it's my fault. I mean, hey, I'm an attractive woman. And I had a big smile on my face and was dancing with myself (not Billy Idol style, though). But no guys wanted to dance with me. Bless Megan for dancing with me, when she wasn't being danced with by frat boys. Honestly, I felt like roach-bait next to her. But I kept dancing and enjoying the music anyway. At least I didn't get hit on by skeezy guys, like what happened the one time I went to Qua, so there's the silver lining. One definite bad thing about Elysium that Jason C.'s review reminded me of: There didn't seem to be any air conditioning inside Elysium. It was hotter than hell in that place last night, and it's only going to get worse as summer progresses, so beware. Dare I accuse Elysium of doing this on purpose to make you sweat out your alcohol so you have to buy more? Three stars for friendly bartenders who will get me a drink lickety-split and for good music, but minus two stars for no air conditioning and too many 21-year-olds on '80s night. read more

My two experiences at Elysium. 1. Goth night. (almost every night but especially Saturdays) When we were shaking off a night dancing on 6th street my friend turns to me, face gleaming and says...Hey, I have a place I really want to go. So we arrive at Elysium on Red River. We go in. She immediately opens her purse, where she has stored for this occasion with a necklace with studs and a pair of black gloves. This, ladies and gents, was a Goth night. Everyone in the bar was dressed in black. Black lipstick, silver studs, piercings and tattoos. Several people danced alone on the dance floor to loud heavy metal, and she grinned and went to join the small crowd. Looking down at my tank top and jeans I realized I couldn't be more out of place if I tried and after the polite hour of hanging, decided to call it a night. I vowed I would never go to Elysium again. ( 3 months later) 2. 80's night (Sundays) "Just try it one more time," says my friend. You know, the one of the black gloves fame. "Its 80's night, it's like totally different." So I did. This time instead of the black and spikes people were dressed in bright crazy colors. The music was a little obscure for 80's but once and again they played something I knew. In the beginning individuals danced alone on the dance floor ( Ten bucks says at least half of them were on something illegal) and by 12 the club was a huge dancing slip and slide, packed so tightly you could barely breathe and didn't want to. The hard core dancers shook it on the slightly elevated stage. The less hardcore ones played pool in the back. This was a really great party. I went back many many times. But only on Sundays. read more

I gotta say, I'm a fan. Maybe not "Yay! I'm a fan", because all those goth kids from Elysium might get the wrong idea about me. Not that they don't already. I mean, I have some black clothes. Sure, I like to be dark and gothic sometimes. But when I go here on any kind of regular basis, I end up wearing things that I know will make people in there do a double take. That usually means wearing bright colors or any of my Glamor-Hippie gear. That really creeps them out. Plus, my GF likes to go there a lot for 80s night. That's usually when I go too. She dances to all the dark and goth/industrial stuff. I dance to all the happy-go-lucky fun music. Perfect. I can drool over her dancing and she can laugh at mine! And, btw, John the owner is a great guy too. A little intense for some people, but I like him. He's helped us out with some great shows at Elysium, and is always eager to help out. One thing... If I ever feel like leaving the house on a Sunday, this is always the place I want to go. It's hilarious and has one of the most diverse crowds ever. And where else can you get together with someone you have NOTHING in common with and dance to 'Rock Lobster'? That's right, my friends. This place brings people together. I've only been once on a Sunday night for 80s night, but it was definitely a good time! Compared to other bars on Sunday nights though, you ended up spending a bit too much here (-1 star). I think it was a $4 cover plus another $3-$5 per drink when I could go other places on 6th and pay no cover and get drinks for less than a dollar. But, the dancing was entirely way too much fun. I'm normally not a huge dancer, but the fact that literally everyone was dancing and there weren't any creeper old guys trying to grind up on me, I felt comfortable and had a great time. I missed a good chunk of dance time though when I had to wait in line at least 10-15 minutes for the bathroom. Seriously?! There were 3 stalls, 2 of which were working and a complete mess (-1 star). Yes, I realize it's a bar full of people, but that was pretty disgusting. Anyway, check out 80s night if you're looking for a good night of dancing and fun people! read more

"Under Pressure"'s cathartic climax still ringing in my ears, I stumbled out of Elysium's 80s Night in a blissful haze, drenched in sweat. I even convinced myself that the DJ hadn't tried to followup that perfect, end-of-the-night song with "Ice, Ice, Baby". I could only think one thing: every night should be '80's Night at Elysiums. I returned the next Sunday. A little later, a little less appropriately dressed, and a lot less buzzed. It was 1am, the home stretch. Time to bring in the good music, and pack the floor. But no, half an hour passed and is was still mediocre, indistinguishable 80s music. I left, wondering if the week before had just been one of those rare alignments of fate. I hope I am wrong, and base my rating primarily on the week before. read more

When i first moved to Austin, I found this club and knew what i had to do. I had to start making a reputation for myself on this dance floor! For 5 solid years, from 2007-2011, i owned this club! Actually right after i first moved to Austin, the real owner John welcomed me with his big papa bear arms like sure there was room for another stray. This club saved me from having to go to the gym and gave me the space to try all my avant-garde ballet dancer rock and roll superstar wannabe moves. The last time i punked Goth night by wearing all off-white organic cotton and hemp clothing topped off by a floppy green gardener's hat, i got pushed from behind on the dance floor :~/ One night, after pulling out all the stops in my interpretation of "Sweet Dreams (are made of this)", the crowd stopped dancing and gave me a standing ovation! Were you there? I can still remember that night like it was yesterday. "Send me an angel .. Send me an angel .. Right now, right now .. Do you believe in Heaven above?.. Do you believe in love?" I don't know this place well. I went here as part of a sketch group who draw burlesque models. The experience was okay. We were the only ones in the bar, so I can't really evaluate the place on a normal night: 80s night and Goth night sound interesting. I'll have to go back. But all I can say is ... what's with the $1 service charge on top of the already over-priced $6 Guinness pints. This did NOT make me happy. read more

I don't know what there is to say about Elysium here. It's a standard goth/industrial joint; falling apart inside, lots of fishnet stockings and leather biker jackets complimented by dying purple hair and spiky or eighties haircuts. The whole place smells like clove cigarettes. Eighties night on Sundays is definitely worth going to - and one of the few really fun things to do late on a Sunday night - and the variety of music is surprisingly good. They'll take your requests, but they'll pretty much only play them if they want to. So go on - order a rum and coke, light up your smoke (inside!), and dance a little. You'll have a great time, and so will your friends. read more

I get that Elysium really isn't my scene, but I've been to a couple Madchester nights and a Chicken Ranch Records day party here. It's okay. It's a venue. It's pretty dark, bordering on broken ankle territory, even in the middle of the day. The worst part though? The bathrooms. At least the men's. I'm not sure it's actually a bathroom, but more a walk-in closet with plumbing. Probably 6-7 feet wide, twice as long with one toilet in the back and a trough to lead you there. Okay, it's a bar, fine, I don't really need a bidet here... However, since the door stays open, if you properly arch your back, you could hose down the merch table from the midpoint of the trough*. Or you could just make awkward eye contact with passers by. Either way, I don't suffer from public bathroom phobia, but this is too much. *May require the higher water content found in light beers. read more

As a regular of this joint for the last 2 years or so, I have to give props to John the owner for an awesome place to just chill. I usually go on Sundays for a great dance night filled with 80's and 90's music that I thought was long gone! Good layout for sure and diverse crowd. I liked the house DJ/sound guy who was warming up the night. I went during Free Week and had a good time. The bands were not great, but I am a critic who also supports musician regardless if I like them or not. Because the show was free, I am certainly not complaining at all! I only give 4 stars because one of the bartenders had a totally unnecessary attitude with me because he couldn't hear me well and just walked away. They weren't overwhelmingly busy, he just didn't give a shit. He was the perfect example of a bartender who should be doing something else for a living. His coworker, however, totally took care of the minor miscommunication and I continued on enjoying the night. I'll be back to give it another try for sure. read more

Ok, so... it's high time I review "The Sleaze". I should probably give it 5 stars, but the fact that I sweat too much in the summer is gonna cost it one star (John... invest in some A/C, please!). So, back in "the day" I was quite the dancing queen. Out every weekend (at least), dancing til close. These days I probably spend more time in dive bars, checking out local bands, than I do at night clubs, whirling on the dance floor... but when I do get the urge I always head to Elysium. If I go, it's usually a Wed or Sun night. Both good (old) music nights. Weds are less crowded, so I have more room to dance, but Suns are fun too. Weds also have the added bonus of no cover! Of course, both nights fall on days where I typically have to be up early the next morning, so there's another reason I don't go too often. Bartenders are all friendly (but I miss Mo!) & I almost always run into old friends there. Does a great job of taking me back to the days of my youth. If only I still had the energy to stay on the dance floor all night like I once did! Oh yeah & I almost forgot... I've seen some great shows here, too! read more

Elysium is a *the* place to let your dark side rock out. Depeche Mode, New Order, Joy Division, Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, and many other New Wave bands all conglomerate and coax you out onto the dance floor to party like it's 1989. Avoid Sunday night (80's night) if you're not a fan of crowds or feeling like a sardine in between lots of sweaty, gyrating bodies. If you're into that kind of thing, party on! The party doesn't really get going full force until around midnight. DJ Edminister puts on a good show on Wednesday nights. The special themed events and bands are awesome too. One of my best stories from Elysium involves meeting Alan Wilder from Depeche Mode. Yeaaah, that was my Facebook profile pic with serious bragging rights! read more

Best night of my life. I met a man who took my breath away. Walked in, was wearing my favorite top and had glossed up my lops with my favorite gloss, and thought to myself that this place was relentlessly flawless. When I ordered a hairy dog, my favorite cocktail, I was certainly not upset with the results. The man I spoke of earlier whom you are probably dying to meet, was in fact, a dog. Last night was, I believe my 3rd visit in six years to Elysium. Every time I have been it has been for something unique and interesting. The first time was almost 6 years ago for the weekly 80's dance party. Michael Jackson's Thriller came on and BAM! The stage was flash mobbed with a crew that knew every step. The second was some SX event and last night was for 20 x 2's Austin start up week event. Impressive lineup. That was followed by an actual freak show which was crazy cool. The reason I am writing a review now is because I am really happy with the improvements that have happened since my last visit. Bathrooms in Austin bars can be very dilapidated. Many of the buildings are ancient and poorly maintained. Elysium was at the top of my list for the worst! Clearly not a male that originally furnished it! The toilets had cracked, padded, vinyl seats. Just imagine the level of sanitation this lacked. I was very pleased last night to see that these have finally been replaced with the normal white plastic kind. This an inexpensive but very appreciated improvement! My suggestion for future improvements would be to make the bathrooms wheelchair/drunk person accessible. I haven't viewed the men's room but the steps for the ladies loo is a hazard. Other than the variety of acts, I am a fan of the liquor and beer selection. Certainly a larger selection than the average Red River establishment! Lastly the girl that was helping with the technical stuff was very helpful. She has a lot of passion for the place. I would trust this place for events. read more

Another trip down memory lane. It seems that you can take the girl out of the Goth, but she will find it in two states over to romp it up in the only place Poppy Z. Brite readin, clove smokin, for the fuck you we are not emo kids in Austin. Surely, I jest, but this place really does harbor a great atmosphere of a counter-culture that has been bastardized by Hot Topic and Twilight. I am talking old school scenesters here. Remember when you would have to manually tear up your fishnets and find your macabre gear at the thrift store? Remember when Cleopatra records was hot shit? I'd be willing to bet most of the patrons here do too, and will be willing to reminisce of a more magically dreadful time of dark delight. Ah, Elysium. In between undergrad and graduate school, I worked at Savers South, and this was where the people that I actually liked from my workplace hung out in the evenings. Admission was cheap, and it was a non-meatmarket-type place where it was guaranteed that people would be dancing (I always also used to say that no matter how bad one danced, there'd be someone there that danced worse/funnier), so it was cool with me, and I ended up there on many a Saturday night. I know the goth thing is prettymuch the antithesis of cool these days (not that the regular patrons of Elysium probably care about that), and at times I've wished that there was somewhere else to go out dancing in Austin that had better music/different clientele. But I haven't found it yet, and well, it's not like my husband and I are all that cool either. We went last night for the first time in a good while (partially because I knew that someone I used to work with would be there too), and it was still an alright place, and still only $3 to get in. Lots of people out dancing, and I was suprised to see that there were better dancers than there were at nearby Barbarella, and definitely more enthusiasm from the people dancing. The music they were playing last night wasn't great, I'd definitely like to hear more industrial type stuff (I mean like KMFDM/Nitzer Ebb/Pigface/Skinny Puppy) or even, I dunno, Joy Division, New Order, Thrill Kill Kult, Echo and the Bunnymen, Ministry ... but maybe the 45 minutes or so we were there wasn't a good sample. We'll be back ... as far as I know, there's still really nowhere else in town to go out dancing. read more

My favorite days are Fridays and Saturdays. Each day of the week is different but Fri and Sat usually have either a special event or touring industrial band or a dj-dance night with a decent mixture of all industrial subgenres (I do wish there was more harsh aggrotech but it depends on the crowd and djs; the djs are really good about playing what the majority will want so come on out more fellow rivetheads!) There should never be a bad rating, if you didn't like your experience you probably just didn't go on the right day of the week that fits your likings so please look up the upcoming events and try something you will like. I've had all my best nights here (especially the tours, like last night Psyclon Nine and Dawn of Ashes made my year!) best club in Austin! I almost never miss bands on tour, many bands plan their tour around this venue and will only play at elysium b/c of good business and the owner(s) and staff actually care and are super friendly to the patrons as well. Never met an owner who says hi to everyone; I didn't even know he was the owner for a long time. I don't drink often but when I do I have always had awesome service and tasty drink! It also does not matter how you dress or look or what you're into; people of ALL types welcome. I dress different almost every time and never felt judged, I think the people that have mentioned that are just insecure and shouldn't be! Rock your jeans, work clothes, cross-dressing, glam, classy suit, cybergoth, tribal, gogo, camo/combat, corset, dress, t-shirt, ..banana costume! I've seen it all! There is so much space but not too much either! Large dance floor, excellent sized stage, good dj booth, great bar, spacious lounge, big outside patio, and a nice green room. This place is just great. The decor reminds me of something out of a vampy boudoir lounge and the music was killer. The bartender was friendly and chatted me up as well as being very generous with libations. I really enjoyed the vibe here and cant wait to visit again! read more

Elysium. The winner of so many "Best of" awards. First of all, when you hear about how BEST OF it is, you are going to expect a lot, I am sure. However, don't get your hopes up. Sure, the A/C works, the toilets flush and there is more than one bar to get drinks at. That is a gross improvement on 97% of the bars on Red River. I really like this place though, don't get me wrong. There are so many things going on here. There is the main dance floor, there is the little side dance floor, there is the outside patio when you need to cool off...something for everyone. Although the extent of my attendance at Elysium has been 80's night and Yelp functions (Every Sunday night-by far the BEST THING going on in Austin at that time), I can only image there are other fun nights that happen here as well. I've never had a bad time here, and as long as this place is around, I will find myself here at the most unplanned and random Sunday nights for the best 80's dance night Austin can have! read more

Elysium is one of the more interesting places in Austin; one to which I have been a fan of for a while. They cater to a different crowd, and their assortment of different events and theme nights keeps it interesting. Unfortunately, what plagues Elysium is the fact that it tries to be too much at once, without excelling in any particular area. Contrary to popular opinion, Elysium is not a nightclub. I realize people Austin often confuse a dance floor as meaning the establishment is in fact a club, but this is simply not the case. It is very much a bar, with arcade machines and pool tables in the back, a porch for smoking, and medium sized dance floor. Drinks are cheap, but they are also not the best, however staff is generally very friendly. The entirety of the building could use a huge renovation, and much of the decor is worn down, furniture is broken, and the sound system as well as the lighting could use an upgrade; however, that could also have much to do with the lack of space, and shallow ceilings. Also, theme nights can grow a bit stale, especially their Industrial nights, as music is very rarely changed out. This is not to say that any of these things make Elysium unbearable; they are just slight annoyances that patrons can't help noticing. Which brings me to my next topic: The patrons themselves. As I mentioned earlier, Elysium attracts a wide assortment of fans. This brings in many fun, polite, interesting people to meet and interact with; this also however brings in people that for lack of a political correct term, can only be described as absolute scum. Never have I ever gone to Elysium without there being at least two completely out of control, and obnoxiously try-hards that seemingly have nothing better to do than to try to make everyone the contact with miserable. This bar also attracts many people that apparently don't believe in the idea of proper hygiene, and I have had to step out on more than one occasion or just leave entirely so I could have some air. Despite its glaring flaws, Elysium is still worth checking out, and has proven time and time again to provide quality entertainment for very cheap price. read more

Elysium is my favorite club in Austin, period. It's a safe haven for little goth girls like me. The music is always awesome, the drinks are great, and aren't super expensive. Everyone that works there is amazing! The atmosphere is always dark and welcoming to everyone, not just the goth crowd. No one here judges or harasses you. You can dance all night, or enjoy a great show, there's even an outside patio. Also, the shows and events that come through here are always worth seeing! Okay...granted, I went here on a "school night"...Wednesday, I think... and it was fairly dead. But...with that said, I did see one of my fav bands, Three33 and I got to see Dead Love Club as well, which I really like... but the bar itself is kinda dark and dank. They have a great outside seating area that allows you to watch the other drunks walk on by, which is fun. At any rate...it was different for me...not a favorite hangout for sure. The best dance club in Austin, for going on, oh, 16 years now. The staff is the best, the regulars are cool, and the music is fantastic. Want an 80s night that isn't the same 20 songs over and over? They got that. Goth nights are great, and good bands play many Fridays, and the owner is willing to take a chance on some that maybe aren't so good (yet). I've been there in suits, hockey jerseys, goth outfits, jeans and a t-shirt, sweaty and dusty after ACL, and nobody cares. Great, great club. I could live without all the smoking, but it's part of what that place is about, so I endure it. John, Lowell, Mo, Pumpkin Spice and the rest are awesome. read more

Elysium is specifically great for their theme nights. I had one birthday party there which was a Greek Gods and Goddesses night. That was fun. Their Steampunk balls are amazing, too. They have 80's/90's theme nights and everything in between. A lot of amazing gothic bands frequent this spot (Emilie Autumn, Voltaire & others) so it's a good place to get your music on. Some of the DJs on non-event nights aren't the greatest, but the atmosphere and community is quite lively! I approached the door of this nightclub with the confidence of the night creature I am. Darkness wrapping itself around my shoulders provides comfort like the throw blanket my Nana made for me when I was seven. I am the night and the night is me. I had only taken two or three steps into the building when I realized that my life was forever changed. A chill tickled my body as I entered. There was darkness. There was shadow. There was the night, normally reserved for the outside. It tiptoed back and forth, through the doors and windows, clinging to every wall and corner. Every table and chair. Up the stairs, down the stairs. Are there even stairs here? The confusion spun my head, I was disassociated. How can this be? God, how can the night be inside? The dimness was everywhere. It was everyone. It was everywhen and everyhow. "Someone please help me," I thought to myself. I don't know where to go or what to do. I searched the shadows for any sign of direction like the last Titanic survivor hoping hopelessly for one last gasp of air. I must flee... Then I saw him. To say that I saw the true face of an angel that day wouldn't do this vision justice. Our eyes met and he beckoned me to him. Not with his words mind you, not even his eyes called out. It was if the very essence of his soul reached out to comfort me and pull me towards the bar. I had found my imbibing Lancelot. His presence soothed my every pain, my every worry. His existence was like a giant womb wrapping me tightly in its embryonic fluid. His smile was brighter than that time that time Indiana Jones burned all those bad guys with the Ark of the Covenant. "Hi. I'm Cullen. What can I get for you friend." Friend? Friend? Did he just call me friend? The word shot through my soul like a Native American's spear pierces buffalo flesh. I have spent time in my life hoping and wishing for world peace, unlimited riches and beef jerky ice cream, but I have never been so presumptuous as to ever think I could be counted as friend by one such as this...Cullen. I realized at this point that he was trying to serve me. I could hardly stand. My knees became weak and my buttocks cramped. My stomach turned and my palms became sweaty. In all his wonder, he wanted to do something for me. Was this the child of Mother Teresa, Ghandi, Abraham Lincoln and Jim Morrison? I summoned forth a tiger spring of courage and asked this pre-Canonized, booze saint what they had on special. "What have I done?!" How could I dare to ask something 'special' of the embodiment of proof of the divine? I knew I wasn't worthy to stand in his presence any longer and wanted to run. I desperately felt the need to flagellate for my transgressions. This, however, was not to be. His grace and humility was an exhibit of what all people, animals and bugs should aspire to. "Bloodshots are on special. Like one?" I couldn't hear his voice as much as I felt the passion of the 15th Street Baptist choir envelop me and I knew what this Perseus-tiger-man was asking. I squeeked out a "yes please" and he began his magic. Magic...yes. This is how it shall be known. Arthur C. Clarke once said, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. I don't really know what that means, but as I watched St. Perfect swirl bottles I could only imagine Gustavo Dudamel conducting a symphony with musicians made of rainbows and fairy dust. I am fuzzy on the details for the next few minutes. I think I was entering the first stage of shock or organ failure as no human is prepared to accept a dose of greatness so large. I know there was an exchange of currency and some discussion on String Theory, Pan-Asian fusion and the Moody Blues but it wasn't until the moment that pure, unfiltered pleasure shot through my body, do I remember the details. This "Bloodshot," as General McBlissfulLove called it, touched my lips and I felt as if I were being kissed by a unicorn while surfing on clouds of joy. I don't mean frilly unicorns. I mean unicorns like the one from Legend that could kill people. I must skip forward, for it was at this point when my body could no longer stand the awesomeness. The next few hours are a blur. I didn't drink an excessive amount of alcohol, but I took in as much of this Cullen as I could. I was tipsy on this master of the libations and didn't want to leave, but sadly I know I must lest I be trapped in his web of glory forever. I sit here in my room, alone. I think back on this night fondly knowing I am forever changed. I just wonder if my brush with greatness made me better for having it or left me with an inability to truly love. read more

This is a Goth bar, and by golly I had the best time; I am far from goth (more like a unicorn threw up all the colors of the rainbow) but I do love me the goth crowd. Everyone is always so mindful of others, friendly, and welcoming. I would definitely come back to this venue, the have two full service bars, a stage, tables and two videos games close to the patio. I attended an S & M burlesque show and it was absolutely delightful, one girl had an actual grinder (power tool) and used it to impress the crowd...
