I really wanted to love this place. The cupcakes looked lovely. The menu is non-traditional. I ordered a 4 pack variety of cupcakes. The vanilla was crumbly and dry, frosting was acceptable in flavor. The chocolate flavored cupcakes were so moist that they literally fell apart when I tried to remove the wrapper. You couldn't even hold them in your hand to eat them I had to place them on a plate for family to eat with a fork. My family of 3 each ate one cupcake and ended up throwing out the 4th one. These taste like they were made in France by a guy who's got a rat in his hat (ratatouille reference, this place won't give you the plague, don't worry). Recently, my girlfriend and I went and got the raspberry croissant, sadly we aren't together anymore because she left me for those flakey layers. What a beautiful store! Elysian Fields is decorated as though you are stepping into an art nouveau salon and the vibes are immaculate. Even their electronic menu fits the theme with little waltzing figures that flit across every once in a while. Their cases were full of beautiful pressed shortbread cookies in flavors like Orchid (vanilla), Orange Blossom, and Violet. The cinnamon rolls and muffins looked charmingly homemade and smelled wonderful! I purchased a box of shortbreads in various flavors and a tin of Datura candies for under $25! The Orchid shortbread that I ate on the way home was delicately flavored and the perfect melt-in-your mouth texture. The cashier was very friendly and answered all my questions, and when we were chatting about the music playing through the shop, two of the bakers popped out of the back room to join the conversation! I was only in the store for a few minutes but had a very pleasant experience. As a lover of historical food and the Edwardian/Victorian aesthetics, I drove all the way from Phoenix to check out this store. I was not disappointed! Red velvet brownie cupcake is very unique and interesting to try! However, the cupcake itself barely fills the sheet and the icing is but a small dot on it. When looking at the case, there's nothing that jumps out at you or looks appetizing. For $3.25 each I would expect a full cupcake and icing that is more than half a bite before its gone! The taste is there; the cupcake is moist and the icing is sweet but there is lot missing in presentation and actual cake batter. Would recommend filling each sheet with more cupcake batter and including more icing. Hope it improves! read more

Amazing cupcake shop! The cupcake on the left was a caramel cupcake, spiced batter and caramel icing with caramel drizzle. The one on the right was cookies and cream, Oreo cookie on the bottom with chocolate batter and cream cheese icing! The cookies and cream was my favorite! AWFUL!! Got a custom cake and it was suppose to be marble. It was super light brown(tasted nothing like chocolate) and vanilla was flavorless as well! EXTREMELY DRY and texture consistency was like it was not even fresh but frozen previously. They stand behind what they made and think everything was wonderful! I passed out pieces of this cake and nobody EVEN ATE IT! They were spitting it out! I got a refund but I'm writing this because if this was for a child's birthday I would be even more livid!! The cupcakes were pretty but it just didn't work for me. I bake myself at home and mine are much more moist than the $4 cupcakes I purchased. Don't know who decides whether a review on Yelp ends up there or not. This was disappointing that a legitimate and honest review ends up as not recommended. So found this little gem while leaving Nandos across the street. I'm so happy I have a local place! Decor- The store is small in size, enough for customers to come in, order, and leave. Very bright colors and I really loved how it gave off a "clean" store feeling. Food- So, the cupcakes are really good. The frosting or buttercream was amazing. It was dense, but not heavily so. I had the chocolate peanut butter, and it disappeared 10 seconds after the first bite. Just understand these are not huge cupcakes, around the size you'd make at home. Price- So the price can be a little iffy. Cupcakes are $3 each, and they have bundt cakes as well, I don't remember how much they were though. Overall- You have to try it out honestly. I was so excited to see that there's a new cupcake bakery called "Cups and Cakes" now opened near Las Sendas. We stopped by today and picked up 6 different cupcakes to try at home. The owners prepare everything from scratch and it shows in the quality. The cupcakes were super moist with great flavors to choose from. We had the classic vanilla, chocolate mint, salted caramel, vanilla raspberry, peanut butter chocolate and cookie dough. They were all so good! I pretty much never buy baked goods from bakeries. They are rarely ever better than what I can make at home; because the cake is usually way too spongy or dry, and the frosting is almost always WAY too sweet. This place is the BEST! I now have found a bakery that has cupcakes that are perfectly moist, with the perfect balance of sweet in the frosting. (BTW, the Samoa is my favorite so far!) Stopped in today to check the place out after seeing the sign about there being new owners. I was greeted by the owners with what I assume would be smiles, if it weren't for our COVID masks. They were very nice and told me about all the cupcakes. The selection was great and it was hard to choose which ones to try, but I ended up with a Peanut Butter cupcake, an Orange cupcake and Blueberry Coffee Cake.
