Stopped in and had a great tasting with Kristopher. I called him and he worked with us to make sure a time worked last second to get in for a tasting. We only gave him 30min notice and he had no problems with it. This isn't your glamorous fancy winery. This is a small family operation with great staff and fantastic wine. We ended up spending over 3 hours hanging out with the staff throughout our tasting and truly becoming part of the family. Everyone was so friendly and answered all of our questions. They let us help mash some grapes, taste directly from the barrels, and watch the whole harvest process. Our tasting was built around what interested us and they showed us a variety of Cabernet Sauvignons. We probably tasted 6 or so wines total from a variety of price points. The tasting was $50 or free with the purchase of 3 bottles. We will definitely be looking for Elyse wines and coming back again! read more

My family went to this winery yesterday and were blown away with what a great tasting experience we had. First off, we went with our infant and two year old toddler, and this winery was very accommodating. We were seated on a patio section and it was very private so my two year old could run around and play. Second, the wine was extraordinary. But, what made this tasting truly the best we experienced in Napa, was our host, Dean. He sat at the table with us and really got to know us and what we liked. He tailored the tasting based on that. He also had the best stories and was so easy-going and fun. He made our tasting truly memorable. We tried probably around 8-10 wines with very generous pours for $50/person. However, if you purchase three bottles (all ranging from $35-200/bottle), the tasting fee was waived. We ended up buying 6 bottles to get the tasting fees waived and left very happy. They are well known for Zinfandel and Cabernets. They use old 100 year old vines that produce soft smooth wines. The Zins are almost like really great pinot noirs. One of the smaller family owned winery with a cute little tasting room. I visited while searching for an appointment only, small family owned winery and was really glad I came across Elyse. Wines were overall enjoyable and I ended up purchasing one of the more expensive bottles (2013 Morisoli Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon) in order to meet the minimum $ to get our tasting fee waived. We came for a wine tasting as a party of 6 and we're not disappointed! It's definitely a very intimate experience as I believe there is room for only one tasting at once. We tasted at a picnic table in the shade but could also walk around the grounds and see their vineyard. We loved all the wines we tried, particularly the rose. Our wine guide was so nice and really made the experience as well! She was so laidback and happy to chat with us about wine or just our lives. Another great aspect of this tasting was that you were able to purchase two bottles of wine and have the tasting fee waived! The only drawback to this winery compared to others is that there aren't really views of Napa. We had been to round pond earlier in the day and really enjoyed the 360 degree views from there. However, as long as you're sure to enjoy the views of Napa from somewhere else, this is a great stop! read more

One of our all time favorite wineries. We first came many years ago, and now that we moved back to the bay, we came to revisit and it's better than ever. They've got a some new labels that are higher end, but they original Elyse label is still excellent and even better value. We reserved for the max group of 6 during covid. They were very nice and accommodating with seating and the selection of wines. There were some we were able to try that were not listed on the tasting menu (which was a treat). Loved the wines, service and knowledge that Garett offered us. This is an unfortunate review. I had their dessert wine in 2018-2019 on our annual Napa trip. Fell in love with it. Covid hit and we took a few years off. On the 2022 trip I ordered 2 cases. In July 2023 we went back and was told by Dean "they're discontinuing that dessert wine". I asked "what's left?" He said "5 cases", I said "I'll take them!!" He left the retail area and returned and told me "we actually have 9 cases", I said "no you don't, I'll take them all." Fast forward a month, I call to check on shipping and was told "we have your wine, we are working on logistics to ship it all." I call a month later to check on it, only to be told "I'm sorry, the salesman wasn't authorized to sell that wine." I called BS on that excuse because they acknowledged my sale in Aug and acknowledged it was just a simple logistic issue to ship it all. The President of the winery emails me to tell me he didn't appreciate my tone and verbiage used with his customer service agent as they were screwing me. Guess what? IDGAF!!! There's maybe 400-500 wineries in the valley and I chose to spend my money at this place. I will never return. You do you. This is 100% accurate. Their threat of sending their lawyers after me for sharing this nightmare has no merit and I welcome their response. Their dessert wine was the only wine worth drinking for me. I hate to say this, but I was a bit meh on our experience here. Of the fifteen wineries we visited on this trip, it's in the bottom of the pack. I don't know if it was because we had a great experience at the winery before this one or if it was because my husband and I were squeezed in at the end of the tasting bar and the rest of the bar was a large group that was together, but we left underwhelmed. The wines were OK, but definitely not among the best we had. We each did one of the two available tastings so we could try everything. We bought four bottles - the Chardonnay, the Korte Ranch Zinfandel, the Petite Syrah and the Morisoli Cabernet Sauvignon. Our hostess was nice enough, but spent most of her time with the large group, although she did come by after they left to see if we wanted an extra taste of anything. We were in and out of here fairly quickly, when wine tasting is supposed to be relaxing. Please note, there are no chairs inside and if there are some outside, it was never mentioned to us. read more

My husband and I were in town for a few days with our friends and scheduled a tasting at Elyse. It was a highlight of my birthday trip. The tasting room is small and offers a very personalized tasting. A HUGE thank you to Garett! He was fun, informative and patient with us as we tasted our way through their list. Khristopher was also a pleasure to talk with and learn about the history of the winery. It was very causal and comfortable. It would have been four stars if we had better service. Super long wait because they were accommodating a big group of "drop-ins". Unlikely to revisit. This is the second Winery we visited on our impromptu afternoon trip to Napa. When we pulled into the parking lot the weather was just getting awful, it has gone from a mild sprinkle to downright pouring. As soon as we stepped inside the tiny, warm and brightly lit tasting room though, I already feel better, even though it was very crowded. We were greeted by one of the two gentlemen working that day, unfortunately I didn't get his name. We had called in for appointment prior, he apologized for the place being crowded, because they had "some unexpected drop-ins" and "family of the winery who came by" Family? I can understand that, but drop ins?? Weird because on their website it clearly states by appointment only, I guess they were making an exception for a big group of people. He said it will just be a few more minutes, so we waited, and waited, and waited, for probably close to half an hour. I know they don't want to pass up business opportunity with a big group like that, but it was unfair that we had to wait for so long, it's not like we were the one who 'dropped-in'. I felt especially annoyed because it doesn't take a whole lot of time for one of them to come around and pour us w/e wine is on the list next. The guy was apologetic by they time he finally got around to us, and we end up buying two bottles of their C'est Si Bon. Napa is filled with huge wineries with giant tasting rooms, slightly pretentious staff and expensive Cabs. Elyse is definitely not one of these. Elyse is a small family owned winery with amazing wine and a great staff. Kayla is by far our favorite here! she is so sweet and takes such good care of us! They have a small, by appointment only, tasting room and great wines that are nicely priced for the quality and taste. They are primarily a red wine maker but do usually have one white for tasting. They also make a bone dry rose that I am OBSESSED with. Their cabs are great but in a land filled with great cabs, their Zins and blends really stand out to me. Definitely a must stop in Napa. read more

Make an appointment beforehand if possible but definitely call them first since they will sometimes turn people away without an appointment, but I have been able to call the same day for tastings. I'm a big fan of their C'est Si Bon and Pinot Noirs. Their Pinot Noir is only available every couple of years but when they do have them I snag several bottles. The tasting is $10 per person and includes 6 tastings. We know lots about their wines so when we do our tastings they usually include several that are not on the list from the owner's private label so make sure to ask if they don't since the Syrah and Zin are wonderful from the other label which is pricier but tastier. read more

A fantastic winery off the beaten path! We came here for our last stop of the day and I was thoroughly impressed with the excellent wines that were poured. I especially liked the 2008 L'Ingenue (such complexity from a white!), 2007 Pinot Noir, all of the 2007 Zinfandels (Morisoli, Howell Mountain, and Korte Ranch), 2006 Franklin #33 Mon Chou, and 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon (outstanding integration). The tasting was loads of fun and our host was such a character - quirky, informative, and hilarious! The waiving of the tasting fee with a bottle purchase was simply icing on the cake =D read more

I don't even want to give this place a single star. My family and I arrived 10 mins early to our wine tasting and the first word was "F***, are you guys f'in early!? We actually have to get the workers?!" While humor was intended it was shocking and an extremely unprofessional welcome. We were placed at a picnic table outside (it's December..) and left to sit there listening to curse words from the seemingly drunk employee, left and right! For a place having the same name, I was beyond thrilled before arriving, as this is my first time in Napa and Elyse left me more than disappointed it didn't live up to the other lavish experiences my parents had experienced in Napa for the past half decade. Cubby, your professionalism is entirely lacking. The shack the winery is established in is a complete dump. Would NOT recommend. read more

I came to Elyse Winery for a leisurely tasting on a recent trip to Napa. I was with a group of six, including one baby, and the winery was able to accommodate us at an outdoor table, in what felt pleasantly like its backyard. This worked out pretty great for us--I liked the interior, too, but it was small and less idyllic than the garden patio on a warm summer day. We shared two tastings between five adults (including two drivers), and this was a good amount of wine, as we had another stop planned. There were five wines in the tasting, and someone from the winery came out with each bottle to explain what we were drinking--seemed like a lot of work for them, but it was great for us. We tried the 2012 L'Ingenue, the 2012 C'est si Bon, the 2011 Zinfandel, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 2010 Jacob Franklin Cabernet Sauvignon. The first three were in the $25-40 range, while the last were $70 and $75 per bottle. I thought the cheaper ones were quite good and well priced, but wasn't super tempted to splurge on the others. I picked up a bottle each of the C'est si Bon and the Zinfandel, which were both excellent. Since two of my friends were Elyse members, I got a 15% discount, and our tasting fees were waived with purchase (three bottles knocked out one fee, and we got six altogether). My friends' one-year-old daughter also had a great time. She didn't drink any wine, but she was fascinated by the winery's orange cat. All of us had a lovely time at Elyse, and I'd recommend it if you're wine-tasting with children, or just want an easy place to stop off for a nice tasting and some reasonable wine. read more

For those of you who think Napa long ago turned into Disneyland, you are 99% right. But there are still some mom and pop gems tucked into unassuming lanes, and Elyse is one of them. Ironically it is just off of Highway 29, but you feel removed from the fray once you turn onto Hoffman Lane. It's by appointment only so that party buses full of bros and broettes from the Marina don't clog up the one lane road just before closing, but that policy made for some peaceful and undistracted tete-a-tetes with the humorous and knowledgeable gentlemen who were pouring last Friday afternoon. Tasting fee is $15, which is waived with purchase. Their Le Corbeau Grenache, Zins, and Petite Sirahs were all under $40, so well within our price range. The tasting itself was very generous and infused with just the right amount of banter and vino-ese. Definitely don't come expecting a grand castle estate or lavish grounds, but do come knowing that you're getting some damn good adult grape juice, informed and honest service, and patronizing a fine family run business. read more
