Elubia's Kitchen in Isla Vista. But they also have a food truck that is just as delicious!

Since the first time we tried Elubia's Kitchen, we were hooked! The food is absolutely phenomenal! Both authentic and flavorful no matter what you get Elubia's Kitchen puts heart into their food! The ambiance is laid back and the staff is super friendly. We highly recommend the potato, chorizo and cheese pupusas!

Very cute restaurant with reasonably priced food. Greeted quickly and free agua fresca with one order due to anniversary. Our tummies left as satisfied as us. Will visit again next time I'm in Santa Barbara. Worth the ride.

Highly recommend this restaurant for delicious and affordable meal options! I ordered their vegetarian pupusas and pineapple/passion fruit agua fresca (I ordered them mixed), and I loved my meal! Been on the hunt for delicious Latin American food since I moved to the area, and this is a restaurant that checks that box. I will be coming back! Thank you for a great meal. :)

Genuinely the best service I have experienced in a while -- wonderful staff!!! Food is impeccable.

Great addition to IV!! Elubia's Kitchen is a fresh and new restaurant here focused on featuring traditional dishes from Latin America. Here you can find anything from pupusas to burritos to garnachas to dobladitas! So much variety! The restaurant is small but holds so much inside! I made a pick up order here for a pupusa plate. This comes with 2 pupusas, casamiento (rice and beans topped with cheese and sour cream), and salsas/slaw! You have the choice of 7 standards pupusas, but can upgrade to 5 specialty flavors which include meat inside. I went ahead and got the diablita (chorizo, habanero, and cheese), and adobada (pork and cheese, +$1). On the side I got all 3 salsas and their cabbage slaw. All I gotta say is WOW! This was delicious! The diablita pupusa is !SPICY! not gonna lie, but it was super flavorful. The cheese was fantastic and it was the perfect amount of chorizo. This pupusa paired perfect with their cabbage and their green salsa. The adobada was incredible. Not too salty and they do not skimp on the fillings. I mean check the pics I posted, these were so good! The adobada paired perfect with the cabbage and fuego salsa! The casamiento was great too and a perfect side to the meal. Flavorful and loved it with all the salsas!! This spot is definitely going to become one of my go-to's in IV. I feel like the restaurants around here are not even close to the level of Elubias! Definitely will have to return and try the rest of their menu!! The combo plate will be my next order for sure :)

Due to some impending rains, however, I needed to move the party to a different location (at the last minute) but Buena Onda still took care of all the catering. Matias and his crew did such a wonderful job not only understanding the venue change, but catered it perfectly. The Buena Onda crew were all super courteous and the the food was amazing. The next time I want to throw a party, it will definitely be at Buena Onda Restaurant. The letter grade for Matias and Buena Onda is A+

We tried the carne, pollo, buen día, and the daily special (brisket with peppers). For sides, we got one order of chimi papas and one garden salad. The empanadas were big and generously filled. Our favorite was the carne. I would also recommend choosing the salad over the potatoes as a side. It's a spot worth visiting if you're in the mood for empanadas!

We'd made reservations and were seated promptly when we arrived. The ambiance was warm and inviting. We noticed that the diners' demographic skewed older, but that was fine with us--it made for a relaxing time. We started things off with some cocktails: I got the Opal martini (gin and vodka, with Gorgonzola stuffed Olive--very good) and the hubby got the house old fashioned (not too sweet, also very good). They brought out a small complimentary bread basket, which had two different kinds of excellent bread. Carb avoidance be damned! We ordered the following: - warm seafood salad (lots of fresh seafood--great) - butter lettuce salad with Gorgonzola (so simple and so delicious) - mushroom risotto (delicious! Cheesy with bits of walnuts and asparagus as well as the shrooms) We thought the prices were reasonable prices for the quality, and the service was excellent. Overall a really great experience; would definitely try again.

And usually, the food is really good at Opal. But not this time! Very disappointing. Due to popular demand, they put the hangar steak back on the menu. I love that dish, so ordered it with great anticipation! But I was sorely disappointed. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare, but that's where the goodness stopped. It was extremely tough with gristle running throughout. The meat itself was flavorless. And, the sauce was something I couldn't even identify! No idea what it was, but it wasn't tasty. The mashed potatoes mentioned they contained horseradish. I love horseradish, so I was excited to try them. Unfortunately, half a bottle of horseradish in 1/2 cup of potatoes just doesn't work! Would have been better to have plain potatoes with a side of horseradish! I have to say the vegetables were nicely prepared, but nothing to write home about. All in all, a disappointing trip to Opal. I hope they make this dish the way t used to be, or cease putting it on the menu. It doesn't work at all the way it is.
