We booked online,…read moreand upon arrival and after checking in, we had a short briefing (where to stop, to watch out for the ripples in the water as they indicated shallow water with lots of rocks, safety precautions) and were soon outfitted with PFDs and given the paddles. We were driven to the launch point upstream, where the kayaks were already there. The river was very calm and gentle, and going downstream was fairly easy. The river wasn't too busy, other than a few other canoes, kayaks, and floaties that we passed by. You really get the peaceful feeling of being in nature. The wildlife we spotted included a heron and dozens of ducks and geese. The end point was where the office was (where we checked in). The whole process was smooth and efficient, and all the staff were helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Great way to spend a summer day in the water!

We were the only ones out on the river today and we saw geese, ospreys, and heron. It was an incredibly peaceful and fun afternoon with the sun shining. Our experience camping at Milton Heights campground was not a positive one. It is an ok campground…read morewith limited facilities. The site was uneven, the sites really need some improvements and upgrades. Gravel parking spots would be great and some pull through sites for larger rigs would be helpful. There are so many rules and management is micro managing the park, driving around continually. The office lady, maybe owner not sure, is not very friendly. She comes across as being kind of aggressive. Visitors are charged $7.50 each to come in the park. We had friends come in and pick us up to do a day trip with us; it cost them $15 to come into the park for probably 10 minutes to pick us up and didn't use any facilities, while in the park. I asked the office gal what the $15 charged was paying for, and she wouldn't answer, just said it's the rules. They couldn't have used the bathroom behind us anyway, it was out of order the whole time we were there. Suggestions for improvements- working restrooms; gravel parking spots; water hookups , where the hose doesn't fall into a cement hole; pull through sites for bigger rigs; garbage bins in more than one area (only one was near the entrance); less fees for visitors; and friendlier staff/management. Campgrounds should be run by friendly, inviting staff/management, so people want to stay there and return, as well as tell their friends for more future business/campers. They have what could be a pretty campground and inviting, but need some improvements and an attitude adjustment to encourage campers to recommend and return to the park.

At Lisgar station. I'm not kidding. There are buses to be had, too, on a much more regular schedule. It's no union station. But it gets the job done.

The rooms are extremely warm and welcoming, there is also a beautiful indoor pool with a high cathedral ceiling. It actually felt like a trip to a museum with spectacular artwork and beautiful antique furniture. Much of the artwork has strong family ties and fabulous stories behind it. As stated, these gentlemen have thought about every detail down to slippers to fit you and robes to wear to the pool. The breakfast was far beyond my expectations, you order personally and it appears in the fridge. No sticky croissant and bear claws here. We loved the fact that breakfast was very personal rather than hanging out with Guy and Sue from Moncton around a big table There is also a grand property right on the creek although we were unable to explore thanks to the slush and mud. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We will definitely be back!

We stayed in the Chocolate suite both times and I can't wait to go back. The place is immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and the attention to detail is just amazing. The suite we stayed in had a balcony and separate breakfast/living room. Stunning! Let me just say I would live here if I could! Don and James are wonderful hosts; they're friendly, funny and thoughtful.

Wobbly Wheel may be one of my fav beers I've tried! I wish they had it in Toronto. The only regret is not buying a stash for our trip home.
