Wow! What an amazing tour! My family and I booked a 1-hour boat tour with Toronto Harbour Tours before our flight back home and we were very pleased with the service. The narrator had great energy and you can tell she either really loved her job or she enjoyed telling customers the history of the Toronto waterfront. I can't quite remember her name (apologies!) but our tour was on 05/27/19 at noon and our crew (especially the girl who gave the narration) had amazing humor, charm, and sass. We had also missed our 11am tour because we ran late in storing our luggage at a nearby storage locker and the staff person at the window had no issues rescheduling us for the 12pm tour. We did the 1 hour harbor tour and really enjoyed it! We had many great views of the skyline and enjoyed seeing the islands as well. The two person crew did a great job both driving the boat and talking about the sights we were seeing. I enjoyed learning a bit more about the city. One heads up...the stairs down into the main seating area are extremely steep. It's only a few, and the railings are sturdy, but for someone with balance or mobility challenges this could be hard. It might be worth calling ahead to see if space on the small back upper level is prioritized for those who can't navigate the stairs. read more

He also shared some interesting stories about the area, CN tower, and the city. What a wonderful (and underrated in my opinion) activity this is in Downtown Toronto. It is well priced and very safe. The crew is absolutely hilarious and will do everything they can do make sure you have a fun, safe time on the boat while you cruise along the Toronto skyline and islands. I'm under the impression that this attraction is not as well known as the others (i.e. CN Tower, St. Lawrence Market), and I'm surprised about that because this is a cheap (and better) alternative to going up the CN Tower. The tour is an hour long and the tour guides are very knowledgable. You'll learn facts about Toronto you may not have known about before. The photo opportunities you can get of the skyline are AMAZING from this tour - do not miss out on that! It also does not matter what side you sit on when on the boat. The crew sails alongside a route where both sides of the boat have equal opportunities for photos of the skyline and islands. I also liked how the tour guides made sure we had breaks in between their talking - that was nice as it can get pretty tiring to hear a tour guide talk for a long period of time nonstop. I definitely recommend this attraction to anyone of all ages and will use this again if plans bring me back to the waterfront area. read more

If you are in Toronto, you must take advantage and buy tickets online for $20 or so for an adult. If you purchase tickets at the booth on the day of the tour, you'll end up paying $25 per a person. Awesome atmosphere and an enjoyable 1 hour of sight seeing of downtown Toronto. Our tour with guide Dylan was incredible and he kept us honest. For one hour, you'll enjoy good company, learn a whole lot of Toronto, take some beautiful pictures of Toronto's skyline and you may even make some new friends. Learn a lot about the different islands in Toronto, which was extraordinary and mind blowing. We were amazed by Amsterdam Brewery and the history behind it that we ended up going there after for the tour for a couple craft beer. Haha! Get a close up of the CN tower and must hear the joke behind it. Haha! If you are a Yankee fan and from NYC, you'll learn some interesting facts about Babe Ruth and how he left an impression on one of the islands. This was a good tour if you are looking for a quick and easy way to see the city from the water! It was about an hour long...went out into the lake to a beautiful city view and then took a trip through the island waterways. The tour guides were nice and funny. Offered to take pictures of us with the cityscape in the background...which was nice! Wasn't as much history of the city talked about like I thought. If you're looking for an affordable way to get on Lake Ontario while also catching some history, this is a great tour. Like many other reviewers, I agree that the captains were well trained, kind, and very knowledgeable. I thought the boat was a bit on the older side (not unsafe though) and I really wished there wasn't the glass/plastic covering the top (although I'm also happy to not have lost my phone in the water trying to get a good shot). Great (!) views of the city. If you're looking for nighttime shots, the 9pm is probably best. read more

These tours can obviously vary on who is giving them, as it is character driven, but the great majority of them are great. A healthy blend of cheeky, informative, and funny. If you want a standup routine go to Yuk Yuks, these are family friendly tours. The guides are great and friendly, if you read the other views they'll mention it being 'corny' or having obstructed views of the harbour. Yes and no. All the tour boats on the harbour have covered windows and some have open decks, if it's an open deck you want I suggest you search out the right company or boats. This company has a boat with an open deck, even still there are plent of ways and opportunities to snap photos. As for corny, perhaps but it's better than an hour straight of city related data that could be rather done via reading Lonely Planet, it's meant to entertain. If its a complete straight faced fact tour, bring a book and ear plugs, if it's a cheap ride straight to the islands, take a ferry. THT otherwise is really the best tour for the money, also the only one making regular stops on the islands (tour plus ferry!). The windows aren't a problem for photos, I took plenty that looked amazing and if it's a crowding issue, well honestly, try a less busy day? Morning tour? Week day? Complainers will be complainers, but this is totally worth your time. read more

Very relaxed and cool way to see Toronto and some of the small islands within in the city. I actually had no clue these islands existed and that you can even walk and bike ride around them. None the less, this is one of the reasons why the tour was awesome. Side note: It's also extremely in expensive. I was able to get some excellent photos of downtown Toronto with the CN Tower in the middle. The tour operators were awesome. So friendly and gave us a run through of every aspect of the city's history, including the CN Tower, the skydome and other small facts that would be unknown to any tourist. They also made sure to stop the boat at different points so we could take photos and ask questions. The staff was honestly a big part of why the tour was so enjoyable. For such a small amount of money, you get an hour tour and can even stay on of the islands and get picked up by a later return ferry. It's a great way to see the city and explore the outer islands. read more

This was a nice, affordable date option. However, please note that my view might be a bit more biased than the average consumer because my bf was able to score tickets at half off on Groupon and was then able to further reduce the discount with Air Miles points. The regular price is around 25 dollars per person, and after the 50 percent off discount from Groupon and the Air Miles points, we got our tickets at a frugal fee of $2 per person! Who can say no to that? My bf and I grew up in Toronto, so I will be reviewing this from a Torontonian perspective. The tour is mainly geared towards tourists, so a lot of the information the guides offer are part of the everyday knowledge of the city's residents, such as what the Power Plant offers at Harbourfront, what the Rogers Centre is, etc. etc. There are some key notes that they do offer about the historical timeline of these Toronto landmarks, so there is still a great deal to benefit from this tour in terms of its educational value for Torontonians. However, I have to admit that the main highlight of the one hour tour was the opportunity to take beautiful landscape shots and selfies. The boat cruises along a route that ensures passengers from both sides will be able to take multiple shots at the city skyline, with the CN tower as a central motif. The guides also ensure that there are several breaks throughout the tour for passengers to take pictures. Our guide had a great personality to boot, so that was a plus! Unfortunately, no one had a selfie stick, so I have no advice for whether or not those are allowed on board. read more

The tour was very interesting, and all of the staff was friendly- from everyone at the pier, to those on the boat. The duration was perfect, one hour was not too short and not too long. Information given was interesting, and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. The view of the skyline from the water was amazing, and it was neat to see the Toronto islands from a way which otherwise would not have been possible. Would definately recommend this to couples and families. The only reason this isn't receiving 5/5 is because the boat (New Beginnings) did not have the best seating layout (facing eachother) while under a roof, with limited window views, and only a few open seats in the back (8) which we were lucky enough to snatch to get some nice photos. read more

I'd booked up to go on this tour before we left the UK and were sitting patiently by the dock waiting to check in for our 10am tour to be told that the trip wasn't running! Apparently they had emailed but of course being from the UK and having no wifi access, we received no email before we'd left the hotel (they sent it literally 5 minutes before the 9.45am check in time!!) There were other visitors around too wanting to do the 10am tour as per advertised on their website. This of course totally screwed up our plans for the day as we'd to now hang around for another hour for the 11am tour, which my partner decided not to do and thankfully they at least offered to refund the ticket as we couldn't fit the cruise in on another day. Onto the cruise itself, it was good and I finally got to see the Toronto Islands properly and the commentary itself was good (tip - sit on the right of the boat for better photos!). Just a word of warning for those unsteady on your feet, its narrow steep steps you go down to the boat on - another reason for my partner opting not to go on the trip. read more

We thought this would be a great way to get a different perspective on Toronto during our visit and we went on a 1 hour tour on a Monday. The boat left promptly and wasn't filled. We were a bit disappointed because the entire boat was covered and we were sitting inside looking through windows. While the glass enclosure provided a panoramic view, it was like taking pictures through your car window....not great. The captain and guide were pleasant and we got good views of the city. We hoped there would be more about the history of the city, but it was more pointing out places of interest, like the CN Tower and the Skydome. It was a full hour on a pleasant day and it wasn't bad, but middle of the road as far as content and the boat. read more

What a disappointing experience. This company seems to have sold way more Groupons that it can reasonably handle. Unfortunately, I went on my harbor cruise (well half of it), on a full priced ticket. First, our boat was 20 minutes late arriving, ostensibly due to "traffic on the harbor." The first officer who was narrating the tour, wasn't bad, but the captain sailing the boat was incredibly rude to passengers. The tour basically duplicates the routes that any public ferry will take to the island for a cheap price. Then it wends its way through the channel. Here's the problem: They let you off at the grandstands so that you can explore the islands. Unfortunately, they are utterly unprepared for return traffic. We waited an hour and did not succeed on getting on either of the two boats that came for the return. There was no organization, and no way to wait in an orderly line. The boats were so full, we were forced to return via the public ferry. I never got the second half of my tour, hence the one star rating. read more

I went on one of their one hour harborfront cruises and enjoyed it. For a total Toronto n00b like me, it was great to see the gorgeous views on a sunny day and learn a few fun facts about my new city. The tour guides are young and kinda corny, but not uncomfortably so. However, the best part was the stop on the Toronto Islands. They give you the opportunity to get off the boat and spend time in the park before taking a later boat back. Be sure to take one of the earlier tours so you can spend as much time as possible strolling around the gorgeous park! Shutterbugs take note: the tour offers great views of the Toronto skyline, so schedule your cruise at a time when you can take advantage of good lighting! :) The evening return cruises off the island can get a little crowded, but if you can snag a good seat it's totally worth it. read more

Brought the parents on a 1 hour tour thanks to Groupon. $10 for a trip around the harbourfront-how could you go wrong? I have to say that one of the most striking things about the experience was how very pleasant everybody was. They were so friendly and full of beaming smiles! I don't know how they stay so perky. Our tour was narrated by Captain Sarah while Captain Kevin drove. I don't know how she copes with giving the same tour every day, but I enjoyed her jokes and learned a few new things about Toronto. I was a bit disappointed that it was a shallow, covered boat...but I suppose that's more practical. They stop at Centre Island half way through and you can choose to hop off and get a later boat back if you like. We were visiting on a weekday in June though, so they were only sailing hourly, with island pickups on the half hour. The big test was what the parents thought of it and they were happy. Even my dad who can usually find something wrong and can never hear anything thought it was good! Downside for me was the infrequency of sailing in June. I wish it counted as their summer because half hourly departures would have been great. read more

We had planned a trip to Toronto Island for a while, so when Groupon had a deal for THT&C, we pulled the trigger. Our experience was quite pleasant. Our boat came on time and was guided by two young women narrating the short trip to Center Island. Like Avitania B. mentioned, it was a bit corny, but I didn't mind as I still learned some new things about Toronto. ;) The best thing was the boat itself though. It had a glass roof that allowed us to take some great pictures of the city skyline. We left the boat on Center Island to spend a few hours at the beach and returned to the dock later in the afternoon around 5pm. We had no issues getting on the boat to make the trip back, but it is advisable to get there early as it seems to get quite busy that late in the day. read more

Wonderful experience! Went as a family along with my 2 and 4 year old. The kids absolutely loved it. They loved seeing the other boats and ducks in the water. We went on the 4:00pm ferry ride which didn't seem like a busy time to go. We were able to safely social distance and gave us plenty of space with the kids. Our tour was fantastic. The process was incredibly simple, even for international travelers-- we booked online the night before, Toronto Harbour Tours printed our tickets for us upon arriving at the dock, there was a minimal wait (we arrived 15 minutes in prior to the tour's start and still had great seats), and was informative and humorous. We opted for a 8pm tour which placed us at sunset in the middle of summer and resulted in gorgeous photos as well as nice weather conditions without the heat of the day. This easily ranks with Harbor Tours we've taken in cities such as Boston and San Francisco and would highly recommend it to travelers looking for a quick, but informative overview of the city of Toronto. read more
