How much do I like the Niagara Day Tour? Well, let's just put it this way... If you're sauntering through the US and are headed to The Falls: Do not pass go, do not collect $200, and do not see it on the American side. Pack up the minivan, pack up the kids, and pack up your passports, and don't stop until you're in Toronto. For what you get, the $84 US I spent per ticket, IMHO, is an exceptional value. And I have a hard time thinking any tour in my home nation, the U.S. of A., is any better. Starting from the Strathcona Hotel in the heart of downtown Toronto, the guide/driver rolled on out of the city. The journey curves, hugging the Lake Ontario coastline through Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, and Hamilton. We rolled over the famed Garden City Skyway Bridge, saw locks of the Welland Canal, and after about 90 minutes made our first stop at the beautiful town of Niagara-on-the-Lake (my review of the town is here https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-town-of-niagara-on-the-lake-niagara-on-the-lake). If you love quaint mom-and-pop and catch-all shops, antique and collectable stores, souvenir shops, great lunch eateries, ice creameries, and beautiful parks, you'll enjoy your 90 minutes here. Then we stopped at the Reif Estate Winery ... it's a gorgeous place, especially when summer is in bloom (we went in early June). The tour includes a private wine-tasting where we tested an in-house cabernet, merlot, and ice wine. Then, a few shorter but still cool stops: the amazing Floral Clock, "The Smallest Chapel in the World" (Living Water Wayside), and the Adam Beck Generating Station 2 (essentially, a really cool view of a dam). And then the event we all were waiting for: 3 hours at Niagara Falls. I HIGHLY recommend adding to your tour package the Hornblower Niagara Cruise (of course, when the weather's good!). We were dropped off right in front and lined up. And yes, it was great ... it takes you right into the belly of the beast. As the tour guide said, "You can get as wet as you want" ... and we did. If you want to get a sense of what the experience is like, go here: https://youtu.be/Rx9Qfu2dizo?t=379. It was awesome, and the 3 hours gave us plenty of time for the tour, to eat lunch, buy souvenirs, and saunter down the boardwalk along The Falls. And, we were home for dinner. Honestly, I don't know how they packed it all into a day. It's an excellent tour I can't wait to take again.

After reading the great reviews of this particular touring company on another website, I thought they would be perfect for my Niagara Falls adventure. The Owner was very prompt in responding back to me, that yes, they did operate on Sundays. Perfect. I paid ahead of time, and received an email right away stating that they would pick us up at our hotel, and the day before send us an email to let us know the exact time. They were true to their word, and on Sunday, the van showed up exactly on time at 8:15 am. Ah, yes, the van. Built to hold 12 people and the driver, we were crammed in there tighter than sardines in a can. It made every stop awkward to get out and awkward to get back in and pretty much everybody was too close for comfort. And it was a loooong day not to be comfortable. The tour guide David was nice, but unfortunately I didn't feel like he imparted much valuable or interesting knowledge, and his delivery method was very dull, to be perfectly honest. I found out later that those stuffed into the back of the van could not hear him very well, either. But - we did have great stops on this tour - the quaint town of Niagara On The Lake with recommendations where to purchase a sandwich, a winery for ice wine, the World's Smallest Chapel, Niagara Power Station, and The Flower Clock. Plus - when we got to Niagara Falls, our guide was very organized in telling us when and where to meet him, and leading us down to get on the boat ride, with our pre-purchased tickets in hand. We were delivered safely back to our hotel around 5:30 pm. All in all, a decent experience, and the stop locations were nice, I just wish our mode of transportation was more comfortable, and that our tour guide was more dynamic.

"An Incredible Niagara Falls Tour... Just Don't Miss the Bus"…read more What a tour. Seriously, worth every dollar. From start to finish, this was an extremely professional and well-organized experience. The tour guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and kept everything moving smoothly throughout the day. One of the best parts is how convenient the pickup system is -- they have pickup locations near all the major hotels in Toronto, which makes the whole process incredibly easy for travelers. There are several add-on options for the tour, and I highly recommend three of them: 1. The boat ride into the falls 2. Journey Behind the Falls 3. The helicopter ride The helicopter ride especially is one of those "you only live once" experiences. If it's outside your budget, though, the boat ride and Behind the Falls are still more than enough to make for an amazing full day. One thing I'd personally skip is the tower stop. The views are fine, but honestly the tower in Toronto is much better. Now for the one major warning: the cancellation and rescheduling policy is brutal. Even if your flight is delayed or canceled and you provide proof, you are still out the full amount. No refund, no reschedule, no flexibility. We learned this the hard way after our flight got badly delayed. I contacted them hoping to move our booking to the next day and basically got told, "good luck and goodbye." That said... the story has a happy ending. We ended up sprinting through the airport, grabbing a taxi directly from the terminal to the pickup location, and arrived at 8:03 for an 8:00 AM pickup. I had been communicating with them during the chaos and they agreed to hold the bus for five minutes. We used three of those five minutes like it was the final scene of an action movie... but we made it. In the end, I absolutely recommend this tour. Just book carefully, maybe avoid scheduling it immediately after your arrival flight, or get travel insurance for peace of mind. If you plan ahead, you're going to have an incredible time with a professional, organized tour company at Niagara Falls.

They made everything soooooo smooth. I arrived 10 min prior to arrival and our guide "John" met us there. He was amazing. Everything was so punctual. The minibus was filled with happy people! We did a few stops along the way including a toilet break at a beautiful flower park, a break for maple syrup tasting. John ensured everyone who purchased tickets to behind the falls and the steam boat tour had tickets. And he happily escorted our group to the front of the line. Everything went smooth and John along the way gave us facts about parks and buildings as well as a few fun history facts about Toronto. I highly recommend this tour. He was extremely patient and it's great for ppl of all ages.

She was enthusiastic and really had a passion for the city and it's history. She was half the fun of the tour. We learned a lot in a small amount of time. The tour ended with a couple of samples of chocolate from SOMA, which were incredible and led to us going back and purchasing some chocolates. It was so nice that everything was laid out clearly. We knew how much time we had for each activity. Our first stop was to the national park. We were getting intermittent rain alternating with sunshine so it was pretty wet. Also the park is on marshlands so even more wet than normal land! lol. We got dropped off by one of the board walking trails. It's very scenic & beautiful despite the rain. The sun came out at times. So nice to get some fresh air & there were birds, frogs, fish all around. Our next stop was at the Presqu'ile lighthouse, beach & visitor center (all near each other). The beach is small & rocky but it was so nice to be near the water. After the lighthouse we got to wander around the small visitor center. It has two single washrooms, a small history room, & a small gift shop. Next was our lunch stop at the Big Apple. There are around 4 food trucks outside the main building. There's a petting zoo also. Inside the main building there are washrooms, a candy store, baked goods, souvenirs, a burger joint & a bar. I liked the big apple but it would be hard to get there without a car. I liked that we got to pay for our own lunch because that also meant we could get whatever we want. Sometimes the day trips include lunch & has a limited menu especially for people with food intolerances. After lunch we got to go to Old Mill Alpacas. Here we got to feed the alpacas, and walk the alpacas. The owner of the farm also did a quick talk about alpacas. It was very interesting! Because of the rain it was muddy of course so we got dirty but I didn't mind as I was prepared with my waterproof boots. Also short trips informed us of weather conditions in an email before the day trip. After the alpacas we had a 30 mins break for dinner at a highway enroute rest stop. Too bad these enroute places don't have better food options. Anyway short trips has no control over that. Our drop off was on time. Overall we really enjoyed our tour with short trips. We would go on another tour with them for sure. Since we don't drive or have a car this is a really nice way to see parts in Ontario we wouldn't normally be able to see.
