Absolutely fabulous! We held a retirement "party" for our boss during lockdown and had our food tour on Zoom! We selected the Cheese & Cheers Charcuterie Edition and the box of goodies arrived at each of our homes the day before the event. As I unpacked the box I was surprised at how many items there were! We received our "set-up" instructions the morning of the event and we were off to the races! Kevin was our tour guide and he walked us through the different tantalizing items we had received, each more spectacular than the last. He is very knowledgeable and the parings he suggested were outstanding. If you have a virtual event coming up, I highly recommend Culinary Adventure! Kevin literally blew me away with his presentation and deep understanding and appreciation of not only the St Lawrence Market and its history, but knowledge of food and how to properly appreciate it. To say our tour was memorable is a massive understatement. It literally changed the way I appreciate where businesses source and present their food, but also in how I taste those items while I eat. I went on the St. Lawrence Market Food Tour with Kaitlin in Nov and had a blast. Kaitlin was very personable and knowledgeable in a cool, this is fun stuff that I like to share with friends way. You can tell she's very friendly with the different businesses and staff at the market, and they were also so warm and welcoming in return. Her passion to promote independent, family-owned businesses was very clear. The food tastings were delicious and generous - I was pleasantly full by the end of the tour and got a chance to go back and purchase some keepsakes. This tour was a must do! I did not know what to expect and I was extremely satisfied. Kaitlin was so kind and knowledgeable and really made us feel comfortable. She did an exceptional job explaining the history of different cultures and the food we were eating as well as the area we were in. We learned so much and it honestly made the food that much better. Everything we ate was delicious! There was not one thing we did not like. She made amazing choices and I will definitely be going back to these spots when I visit Toronto again. I'm from NYC so I am a big foodie and I was beyond satisfied with the food choices Kaitlin made. I already recommended the tour to a lot of people I know because it was a must do for Toronto. This is a no-reservations five star review (but you do need reservations for the tour). :) I booked the St. Lawrence Food Tour a couple weeks before I headed to Toronto, thinking the introduction to the market would be a good way to stock the fridge for our time there. It absolutely was, and Chef Scott made sure we loved stuffed to the brim. One thing I really loved about the tour was that we spent the first hour or so on a real walking tour of downtown Toronto. Scott pointed out some restaurants to consider, but also made time for a bit of history, architecture, and even a stop in the beautiful St. James Cathedral. That is, of course, after the first food/drink stop, at which I got the best vanilla latte I've ever had. After the walking tour, you're back to the market for sweets, savories, cheese, those famous peameal sandwiches, candied salmon, bagels... too many items to count! This was an outstanding introduction to the wonderful city of Toronto, and I'd go back in a heartbeat when I visit the city again. Thanks, Chef Scott! read more

Today, we went on the Made in Canada Food Tour with our guide,Leo. We wanted an overview of Canadian foods in a walking tour in downtown Toronto, and this experience exceeded our expectations. We go on food tours in every city we can, and this one was truly one of the best. Leo,was prompt, friendly,professional,and so knowledgeable. He really knew his stuff! He was able to answer all of our questions and gave us a thorough tour of Kensington Market,which was exactly what we wanted! Each food item along the tour was better than the next, and since we happen to be the only ones who booked the tour today, we had a private tour with Leo, which also meant more food for all! AMAZING!!!!! We have done two tours and will likely do more. The tour guide Leo is very knowledgeable and friendly. Each tour highlights restaurants that represent certain styles of food. Essentially you sample great foods and Leo adds his insights having a background in the culinary industry. Expect to learn about the food, the people who own The businesses, the historical significance of neighbourhoods, landmarks, some history of the food itself. Even as a person who has frequented downtown Toronto for 30 plus years I discovered new places to eat and shop. Basically it is like exploring the city with a chest sheet. On top of that you have a reservation at each stop. Edit.... a small portion of your fee automatically goes to charity feeding homeless people Pace yourself and expect to leave full. Now I know where to get oven fresh croissants, or what is a dim sum. Would give more stars if possible!!!!!! Fun date idea. My wife and I enjoy it. One of the best things we did on our vacation in Toronto. The tour was extremely well organized and thought-out. Communication was a breeze and the tour itself was lively. We were lucky enough to have Kevin, the owner lead our Sunday brunch tour. It wasn't the tradition bunch type fair at all but highlighted the neighborhood and some of the food gems within it. We learned about the community, the history, and the incredible food. It was a great value for the money and I would absolutely do another one of their tours next time I'm in Toronto. As a vegetarian, food tours can be tricky. The company can't easily accommodate all food allergies or preferences but they're great about communicating on their website what they're able to do. I didn't feel like I missed out on anything and the two meat items included on the tour were easily substituted. read more

It is unusual for a local like myself to go on a tour in my own city, but I was given a chance to go on the Queen/King West Brunch tour from Culinary Adventure Company and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. The tour gave a pretty good intro to the area and places we visited, and I learned a few new things about my city despite living here for most of my life. The tour was well planned and executed for the best experience possible. I will not divulge on which places the tour brings you to on here as that might ruin the surprise, but let's just say they sure saved the best for last! I really liked the fact that the company is one of the few Mealshare partners in Toronto, and they have donated over 3000 meals to those who are less fortunate. If you are a visitor looking for a guided tour to experience some of the best eateries in Toronto for a few hours, I think Culinary Adventure Company would be your best bet. read more

What a great food tour!! Co-owner Chef Scott was our guide. I did the Riverside / Leslieville tour. It's a great tour for a neighbourhood new resident, general local or visiting foodie. I was initially unsure what to make of a 4 hour food tour. Tours generally last about 2 hours in my food touring experience. Chef Scott used the additional hours wisely though. We had one extended stop at Olive and Olives which was a olive oil store. We spent a good amount of time here. We had an oil tasting of around 5 oils, learned about buying oils, had a chance to ask questions of Chef or the store worker, and had a cooking demo from Chef Scoot which produced 3 additional samples. That was my favourite type of stop. Other stops included ice cream, bread, Scottish shortbread cookies, fish, sandwiches, etc. Inbeetween the stops we walked around the neighbourhood hearing the history if various shops and the city and the two neighbourhoods covered in the tour. Chef Scott has a great personality and is an invaluable resource. It was like following a local celebrity chef around town. He knew everyone. Everyone knew him. And he knew the best places to go. He even offered that after the tour we could follow him to a local pub for a drink. A nice man and a great tour! I highly recommend it. I recommend this tour specifically because it is in an area that as a tourist you really would have no other reason to go to, but it is an area worth exploring! read more

Several days before we flew to Canada, my fiance found the Culinary Adventure Company. We signed up for the Riverside/Leslieville Food Tour because it happened on a Wednesday and fit right into our schedule. What I liked about this area (Riverside) was that there were absolutely no Starbucks around. Instead you find local, organic coffee shops. We wanted to experience the mom-pop shops, hole in the wall, etc. Megan was our tour guide and she was amazing! She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the buildings, the culture of the food, and the background of the owners of the shops. We got to learn a lot of history while we ate. This food tour wasn't like the other ones that we have done (San Francisco, Hawaii, Chicago, etc). For example, on one of the many stops we got to experience was an olive oil tasting (thanks Paula! lol). Honestly, I've never heard of or even thought about pouring and taking shots of olive oil straight like it was a good time but I'm glad I did it. We learned a lot about olive oil, amongst other things. If we ever come back to Toronto, I would definitely hit up Culinary Adventure Company again and try their other tours. Note: For this tour, there is a parking structure right by the meeting point so you don't have to worry about that. read more

We had a delicious time with Kevin as we toured China Town and Kensington market. We went to places I never would have know about and the food was outstanding. My favourite was the shrimp dumplings at Roll San and the hummus at Abu Humus. I also learned how to really savour cheese. When you eat it the way Kevin showed us it releases so much more flavour. This is our fourth food tour with Culinary Adventure Co and each one has been amazing. I would highly recommend them. read more

We had an absolute blast on the Wizard of Oz tour through Ossington. Chef was a friendly and engaging tour guide who was able to accommodate a number of dietary restrictions. He was highly knowledgable about the Ontario food scene and gave us many reasons to book another in the variety of tour options. The restaurants were varied in food offerings, though maybe one of the choices was weaker than the others. All in all, an excellent Sunday adventure. Be sure to ask about the after-tour-tour. I booked this as a surprise for my husband's birthday and it was everything I hoped it would be and more. The whole crew piled into a 36 foot authentic Voyageurs style canoe and paddled across to the Toronto Islands, the canoe guide was knowledgeable and fun, and the perfect amount of laid back. She effortless gauged timing for when to stop paddling so we could take in a view. There is nothing quite like the silent power of a canoe. We were also lucky with amazing weather, on the first official day of summer. But the team at Culinary Adventure Co. is really what made this trip unforgettable. Leo, Daniel, and Kevin (a.k.a. the Big Cheese) coordinated every minute of this adventure so that it felt luxurious in so many ways. The way they put everyone at ease and helped us gel together as a group was wonderful. On the island they whipped up an amazing table spread (food prepared by Top Chef Canada's Andrea Nicholson), everything was delicious and well balanced, it always felt like there was another new bite to reach for on the table in front of you. On the way back to the city the sun was setting off to the west and the city was bathed in the golden hour glow. It was a beautiful paddle back, and Kevin and Daniel put on a little paddling music to set the mood. Including the "titanic song" from Celine Dion. That coupled with a Canadian Goose and a raccoon awaiting our arrival on the dock made the whole experience delightfully Canadian. read more

First let me say, we do lots of food tours. We have done them in New Orleans, Nashville, Miami to name a few. We did the St. Lawerence market tour with Ian and it was the best food tour we have ever done! His knowledge of the history of the area and his background in restaurants made it extra special! The food spoke for itself and was way more then we could finish! We loved carousel, the charcuterie, the mustard store the Indian candy and of course the sweets! The coffee and croissants were out of this world. Our one forgettable was the bagel. It was perfectly good, just not necessary compared to the rest. We will definitely visit culinary adventures again on our next trip and hope Ian is available again! read more

Chef Scott runs top notch events. My bought the tour of OZ for my birthday since we both share the love of good food and trying new things. We were excited to be tourists in our own city (now when we have visitors we can pass off this tour as our own ;) ) We were greeted by Chef at the start of our adventure. After introductions and some banter we walked up to the first restaurant, learning all about the area along the way. We enjoyed every restaurant that we went to. We did not know exactly what to expect when it came to the food & drink. There were no set menu's but rather Chef recommended a few dishes and then we decided on the order. On our tour Chef even tried a new dish that we wanted to try and would not be surprised if the following tours get the recommendation to try. When entering the restaurants we are greeted like "regulars" and at most places got a little freebie which is always nice. We now have a few restaurants to go back to and a few that we want to try on Chef's recommendation. We would recommend this tour and have faith any tour you booked would be just as good. Last night my boyfriend and I went on the "Escape the City" Canoe Tour with The Culinary Adventure Company. What an amazing experience. Let me preface by saying I am NOT the outdoorsy type. I've never even used a ping pong paddle. But Chef Scott and our helpful and friendly Canoe guide put my mind right at ease. The paddle across the lake is pretty relaxed (a leisurely 30 minutes) and once you get across most of the lake, you are treated to a bird sanctuary and a view of the city you wouldn't get otherwise. Once on the island, we had a little time to explore (we hit faraway farm) while Chef prepared our feast. And feast we did. The food was exquisite and plentiful. Beautifully presented and so fresh. After a leisurely picnic, the paddle back was a great way to work off the butter tart s'mores (you heard me) we had for dessert. I love being a tourist in my own city and The Culinary Adventure Co provided a most terrific (and DELICIOUS) opportunity to do something I never would have thought of doing. read more
