I went on this Zoom Tours from Toronto to Niagara Falls around 12:55pm on a Friday since 1pm was my pick up time. For this tour, everyone chooses their pickup and drop off location ahead of time, so I chose the pickup location near Smoke's Poutinerie, but there was still more people to pick up. Anyways, before I got on the bus, the tour guide will check you in and give you a Zoom Tours backpack. I thought it was nice how everyone gets a free backpack, but I didn't end up using it. Ok so for this tour, you don't go directly to Niagara Falls because they bring you to other touristy areas and give you breaks away from the group first. Those touristy areas in order were the Historic Old Town area at Niagara-on-the-Lake, which is where we were given our first 1.5 hour break to explore and do our own thing away from the group before meeting up again at around 4:30pm. I ended up going wine tasting during my short break there at Wine Country Vintners. Then we all met up on the tour bus again and made a quick visit to Living Water Wayside Chapel for about 30 minutes where we learned a few facts about this chapel, take pictures with it, and go inside of the chapel. Apparently it's the "smallest chapel in the world." After that, we all quickly left to go to our next location, which was Floral Clock for another quick visit where we spent about 30 minutes there to take pictures. After Floral Clock, we went to Maple Leaf Place for a maple syrup tasting where we learned about the different syrups, but that was rushed too and we only spent about 30 minutes including the time to buy souvenirs there. Ok now, after all of those random Zoom Tours activities, we finally made our way to Niagara Falls to do the Niagara Cruises as a group! The falls tour was lots of fun on the boat, but can get VERY WET! They even gave everyone a red poncho for the cruise since we were doing the cruise from the Canadian side! Be sure to bring a waterproof phone case if you intend to take pictures throughout the cruise part of the Zoom Tours! Once the cruise tour was over, everyone in your Zoom Tours group is allowed to separate again for 2 hours to do their own thing. I used that time to take pictures of Niagara Falls, explore Clifton Hill, and eat dinner at Hard Rock Cafe since I ran out of time to do the other things I had reservations for, such as going on the Niagara Skywheel nearby and my reservations for the Fallsview Restaurant buffet. Anyways, after that break, I had to quickly meet up with my group on the bus again to head towards Niagara Falls to get an up close view of the falls at night where the waterfall is colorful! They didn't tell anyone this, but Niagara Falls at night is extremely wet and windy and looked like it was raining! Be sure to keep the poncho they have everyone at the beginning of the day since most people threw it away after the cruise so they didn't get to see an up close view of the falls at night! Anyways, after a quick visit of the falls at night, we all headed towards a different side of Niagara Falls for the weekly fireworks show which was our last item on the group tour itinerary! That area of the falls wasn't windy or wet, so the whole group was able to watch the show and look at the falls. That fireworks show was only about 7 minutes long with no background music. I wish the fireworks show was longer. Once the show was over, we all headed to the bus again to get dropped off at our chosen location, so I got dropped off at 11pm. I'd recommend this tour! Yes, it did feel super rushed, but I enjoyed all the activities and things I learned during it. I also appreciated the fact that they gave us multiple breaks to do our own thing away from the group. I also liked how we didn't head straight to Niagara Falls, but did other activities before it. It's also cool how everyone gets to pick their pick up and drop off location for this tour. I came to this tour knowing that I would get very wet at Niagara Falls, so I was prepared with a waterproof phone case and waterproof clothes, which was why I had a good experience overall, but I still do wish they gave us more time so we wouldn't feel as rushed. read more

Zoom Tours do not deliver on the services they promise, they treat their customers disrespectfully, and once they have your money they don't care about you anymore. They operate under several company names (such as Royal Niagara Tours), and pair those false names with empty business addresses to hide from complaints, deflect enquiries to "whatever tour computer booked through" (our tour guide Ali's words), and try and confuse anyone who tries to chase them to get their money back. We bought tour tickets from the Royal Niagara Tours website for the Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights tour. Their website advertised several different packages with optional inclusions, of which we chose the most expensive package that included all the sights and dinner. The trip started off with confusion and chaos. The bus arrived late, the tour guide (Ali) didn't know who he was picking up, and didn't know what activities anyone was doing. After a speedy bus trip (including plenty of horn blasting) to Niagara, we were hastily pushed to do activities that weren't included in the itinerary we booked. We couldn't ask questions because the tour guide (Ali) was extremely dismissive and rude and brushed us off while continuing to shout at other tour members. He tried to excuse his disrespectful behaviour by saying "he naturally has a loud voice", and has "37 years of your experience" as an excuse for his dismissiveness. Afterwards the tour guide (Ali) demanded we pay him for the activities, on top of the tour we already paid for. Although we bought the most expensive tour package, we were given the same experience as people who paid for the cheapest tour package. As for the sightseeing and activities, we didn't see most of the things advertised. What we did see was via a quick drive by on the bus. Taking photos of the Winter Festival of Lights wasn't possible on a moving bus. We didn't go to Niagara-on-the-lake as advertised. Seeing the falls illuminated was from the bus while we were leaving. The Winter Festival of Lights fireworks show advertised was to start at 8pm, but our tour guide (Ali) rushed everyone on to the bus and left at 7:30pm, angrily shouting at us that the fireworks had ended (even though the restaurant staff confirmed the fireworks show happened the night before and would be happening again that night). There was no time to explore Clifton Hill as advertised, and we were told by our tour guide (Ali) that if we wanted to see it we should eat fast. There was no free time at all even though they advertised 2-3 hours of free time. But the worst part of all was the dinner experience. The group dinner table was in the back corner of the restaurant, where we could barely see Niagara Falls, and the table didn't have enough seats for all guests. While waiting for a solution my girlfriend politely asked if there was somewhere else we could sit instead, but our tour guide (Ali) raised his voice towards her and told her that she was just "complaining, complaining, complaining!". Once the restaurant staff brought some extra chairs we headed to the buffet, but our tour guide (Ali) literally jumped in front of my girlfriend, raising his voice once again and saying "so you're not eating now!?", to which we politely and calmly replied that "we are going to the buffet to get food", which received yet another raised voice response from our tour guide (Ali) of "then why are you taking your bags!?". This is the point where I asked for contact details to call the tour company, as our tour guides behaviour was becoming too much to tolerate. The tour company representative agreed to settle for a refund, and asked me to send an email detailing the issues, which I did, but not surprisingly, after 3 months of trying, they still neglect to respond or give us our refund. Unfortunately there is a word limit for this review, but overall this was one of the worst tour experiences we've ever been on. We paid a premium price for what was supposed to be a unique and special Winter Festival of Lights experience, we were rushed around in disorganised and confused chaos, we didn't receive the advertised package of experiences, and we were treated horribly by the tour guide (Ali). We could've had a better experience for half the price by booking our own bus to and from Niagara, buying our own tickets for experiences, buying our own dinner, and saving ourselves the poor treatment from a rude tour guide and scam your company. I would not recommend anyone to book through Royal Niagara Tours or Zoom Tours, and carefully investigate any Niagara Tour company before booking, as they will more than likely try to hide behind some other business name. read more

My family of four went on a fantastic tour from Toronto to Niagara Falls with an amazing tour guide, Johnny. He was incredibly knowledgeable and made sure we got the best experiences. No waiting in line at Journey Below the Falls and great seats right next to the windows at Fallsview Buffet. The buffet itself wasn't a great selection, but you are paying for the view. Plus, when my two picky children refused most of the food on the buffet, Johnny worked with the kitchen to get them Chicken tenders and fries as an alternative. He was on top of it! The maple tasting, floral clock, and Niagara on the Lake were all cool spots to visit. Highly recommend a tour with Johnny. He made us very like VIPs and we learned so much. Unorganized and Bad Customer Service. I had booked a Niagara Falls Evening Tour with Boat Cruise package that costs 169 CAD. The package does not include dinner. Previous day to the event I confirmed through email that I will be available at the agreed location for pickup. On the day scheduled for the trip I was waiting at the pick up spot 20 minutes prior scheduled pick and sent an email mentioning I was waiting a the pickup spot. The driver missed my spot and never arrived. When I called to enquire he gave a reason that it was a newly added pickup spot and he forgot such stop existed. I was asked to take a cab to where he was waiting which was very far from my location and costed me extra dollars. The driver mentioned he would refund me the cab fee for the trouble he caused. When I got in the taxi the driver called and changed the location and was pressurizing me to come fast siting 45 kms away. He was concerned that other tourists are waiting and it was not my mistake he missed the stop. Then I finally boarded the bus and I did not enjoy any part of the travel. The mic was not working and any detail he shared was not clear. The way he conversed was difficult to understand as a solo traveller I found it a very bad experience. The taxi fee that was promised to be refunded was never given by the bus driver or the company, during the trip I added the dinner and paid them the difference amount, that's how I could get the money refunded. The trip details mentions 1pm to 11pm out of which 4 hours is only picking up and dropping people. The actual sightseeing is only 6 hours. Totally not worth the money, they dont value customer and their money. I would never make plans again with them, as I dont feel safe. read more

Omg we had the most amazing tour guy! We did the tour to Niagara Falls it's was an all day tour but it was fantastic. Fabio was out tour guide and he was so wonderful. He was funny, nice and most importantly extremely knowledgeable. The told Is so many historical stories, just amazing. We did everything from seeing the smallest church, to wine tasting, Niagara lake and the falls just fantastic. The only thing was there was a baby that kept crying. Never use this company!! Absolutely appalling company and I warn others never to book with them. I booked a day trip and paid in advance. At 10pm the night before the trip I was contacted to ask would we consider moving to the weekend however the day we booked was the only day we were able to visit the Falls. I repied to say I could only do the day booked but the company never got back to me. I didn't know if our day was going ahead so went to the pick up point and they didn't turn up. This meant we were unable to rearrange and missed our only opportunity to visit the Falls. Unbelievable that they only informed us at 10pm the night before leaving no warning. Unreliable company and unprofessional tour guide/driver. The day before my 8am tour, I got a call saying that they wanted to roll everyone into the 1pm group which got back late in the evening. I was given a different pick up spot than I signed up for, but was told that the driver would drop me off at my hotel when we got back as it would be late. When we got back to Toronto about 10pm, I expected to be dropped off at my hotel as I had been told but the driver refused, said he'd never been told that, pulled over, and told me to get out and walk the rest of the way. I was with 2 friends who were staying at a different hotel, they asked the driver if he would drive the rest of the way to my hotel since it was late and I was a woman alone in an unfamiliar city. He still refused. They asked him to take me to their hotel (they had also been moved from the 8am group and told that they would be dropped off at their hotel), but he also refused to take them to their hotel so we gave up and got out. This company is unreliable, don't count on them to drop you off where they say they will. And don't expect any help from the tour guide, he will very rudely kick you off of the bus. read more

Really: 3.5 stars [This review is for the day tour minus buffet] Got picked up right at our hotel (King Edward). The bus was 15 minutes behind, but we gathered that it was due to other guests not being timely. It was a large coach bus and was relatively empty (Sept off-season). Our driver was very capable, and didn't talk too much, which I was fine with since I wanted to relax rather than be bothered with endless facts. Took us about 30 minutes to round up some more guests and then another 75 minutes to reach the Falls, where we were immediately put onto The Maid of the Mist Tour. Then we has about 2 hours to Dias we pleased. We walked to the Canadian Falls and back, then checked out some stores before boarding the bus again. Next stop, the whirlpool, which in reality was an excuse to wait for some other guests to do a helicopter tour (who were late in returning, by the way). The view at the whirlpool was fine, but wasn't the most spectacular stop - especially after having seen the falls. Our guide also seemed to have a personal gripe with the local tourist shops warning us not to shop there due to being overpriced. I appreciated the tip, but he repeated this snippet several times. Was just interesting... Then the floral clock, which, to be honest, was nothing much. But all the bus tours seem to stop here for some reason. We were kinda bored and wanting to move on. Then a stop at Niagara-On-The-Lake for an hour. This was a pleasant stop and walk around a quaint town. Lots of cute shops and picturesque buildings. Final stop was at a winery (forget the name, sorry!), where we had white, red and ice wines. This was another nice stop along the way. Got dropped off back at our hotel. The driver did do some honking and yelling at other vehicles. Must have been a stressful day, but it didn't seem professional or pleasant. Basically, it was a slid enough tour with some hiccups and odd stops along the way. read more

We booked the "Niagara by night" tour which promised hotel pick-up at 1PM and departure from the Falls around 10:15PM after the fireworks. The tour was efficient, in that we were able to see Niagara-on-the-Lake, do a winery tour, check out a few vantage points by the falls, do the steamboat ride, and catch the fireworks at night before making it back to Toronto by midnight. That is certainly a good quality to look for in an organized tour. The value was also quite good, at around $100 CAD for a 10-hour tour (we left a 15% tip for our guide). And that's about where Zoom's merits end. We were picked up 15 minutes late from the hotel, I guess understandable given traffic during the day; we then made a fairly long trip to pick up other members of our 12-person tour from the airport hotels by Pearson. The van was comfortable enough but a bit cramped for such a long ride (2.5 hours including traffic). Our guide "double D" was nice most of the time, but gets a bit annoyed when people are late to return to the bus due to a cramped schedule. DD's accent was thick in French and it was a bit difficult to make out some of the things he was explaining over the van's microphone. Our group was a bit quirky in that EVERYONE was back on the bus 5-10 minutes BEFORE the scheduled meet-up time; maybe I am just a lousy American but typically getting to the meeting point at the specified time is not going to get an annoyed greeting from your seatmates. It seems like the problem with the tour is that too many things are planned in a short amount of time, resulting in an extremely tight schedule when there are issues with traffic. For example, we had exactly 30 minutes to walk around Niagara-on-the-Lakes; granted it is a small one-street town, but you barely have any time to explore some of the quirky shops and sample the olive oil before having to rush back to the bus. At the winery we were given a boom-boom-boom tasting of 3 wines before being hustled back into the van, and didn't really have enough time to explore the wines for purchase or walk around the winery itself. This is not the problem of the guide who did a relatively good job making sure we saw the items promised by the tour; perhaps it is a bit better however to remove 1 or 2 things on the agenda, such as the winery tour, or extend the duration by an hour to make sure things are done in a comfortable way. My personal preference for the future would be just to rent a Zipcar from Toronto and drive here myself, taking time to explore the places I am the most interested in. read more

We had guests in town and of course we wanted to drag them to Niagara Falls! This time around, we didn't want to drive but instead wanted one of those guided tours the buses for which I often see running a muck in the city! After a quick interweb search I zeroed in on Zoom Tours. They have a very easy to navigate website and I quickly booked our tour online. I promptly received an email confirming my booking. You provide your credit card information while booking, but actually pay on the day of the tour. The tour guide was supposed to pick us up from the downtown Inter Continental (complimentary pick-up/drop-off at select locations) at about 9:00 am but was quite late. The tour guide did apologize for being late; apparently he was running around,in his small mini bus, picking up tourists from all over the city. Thereon the tour proceeded very smoothly. We stopped at Niagara on the Lake, a vineyard for wine tasting and a few other spots of interest before reaching Niagara Falls just around lunch time. After dispersing for lunch (we went to the very bland buffet at the Sheraton) we went on the Maid of the Mist (included in the tour packagel) and took some pictures before our tour guide came back for the return trip to Toronto at about 5:00 pm. We were staying overnight at the Falls, so the guide graciously dropped us off at our hotel. Zoom Tours will pick you up the next day but that costs extra. The tour guide was a conversational, informative fellow and kept us entertained throughout the tour. All in all, Zoom Tours is a pretty well oiled tour guide company. It's $79 per person (lunch buffet excluded) well spent! I am going with 3.5 stars. read more

We had a great time on our tour from Toronto to Niagara Falls. The tour guide was punctual to pick us up and knowledgable. The tour was a great price for a full day of stops. We were able to see the vineyards, Niagara on the river, Niagara Falls, the tower at the falls, and the holiday light show. Everything was included. The bus was a small one which we enjoyed because we had a small group rather than a huge bus tour that could have over 50 passengers. Great service. I wish we could give this less stars. Took this tour on Canada day weekend. We had No pickup or dropoff at hotel. Had to take a cab to a tim horton's 20 minutes from our hotel. This was an extra 20 dollars round trip. They gave us No water on a 3.5 hour drive on a hot bus. The group was supposed to be small, but it was a full size fully packed old bus with no air conditioning. They kept getting stuck in traffic and did not know any alternate routes. The driver was horrid. He kept Continuously slamming on brakes, then speeding up. We Only had time for niagara boat, wine tasting, whirlpool, flower clock. They were rushing us to sheraton to make sure they took our money for that awful buffet. This buffet had no healthy low fat meats. 2 of our group got food poisoning before even finishing dinner. This was the Biggest nightmare. They feel after they get your money, they can drop you off in the middle of nowhere and let u fin for yourself. Very illegal company. We did the tour the day after Canada Day on a Sunday, so the ride took about 3 hrs instead of usual 1.5 hrs. The bus driver was great; however the tour guide wasn't really a guide so he didn't know much about the falls and worse still the AC on the bus didn't work and it was quite warm the day we went. It was quite crowded at the falls and when we got to there the guide didn't know how to get us to the boats. The boat to the falls was great but a bit crowded. Dinner in the Sheraton was worth it in that the food was tasty and we didn't have to worry about finding a place to eat. read more

Terrible service! We had a private tour booked today where I called specifically asking for a car seat. They returned my call and confirmed there would be a car seat available. The driver showed up to pick us up with no car seat and aware we had an infant (8month old) on the tour. When the driver called her boss to confirm and see if there was anything that could be done there was zero apologies by the management of the company or a care that they had specifically said yes we will have a car seat then did not. I get if they forgot to have one, that's not my problem, the problem is the lack of care or concern for the inconvenience they caused. read more

Our tour was not at all as advertised. Our "Tour Guide" was very clearly a driver - not a guide. Wasn't able to answer a single question anyone asked her, and was more just muttering repetitively to herself rather than doing any narrating and commenting on how she really didn't know where she was going. Also made racist comments throughout her "narration." Very unsettling to everyone on the bus - a diverse group of people. It also took over 2 hours each way to drop off/pickup everyone so more time doing that then any actual activity along the tour - which left just 20-30 minutes at every tour stop so not enough time to even look around. Plus our 6:30pm return didn't get us back to Toronto until after 9:00pm. Would not do this again - would've been much better off to get ourselves to Toronto and seen these sites on our own. read more
