We had a wonderful time on the ferry over to Centre Island and back to Toronto. The ferry was late coming in by over 20 minutes, but we didn't drown, so I'll take it.

I had so much fun riding the ferry and it's super big and the taxis are $10 a person don't get scammed like we did. The ferry is $8 adult $5 for senior and kids. And it's free on the way back

***Toronto Island Ferry is a reasonably priced way (at least compared to the water taxis) to get to the Toronto Islands; the mainland Toronto port is near Union Station and departs every 30 minutes on weekends; it is a quick and nice ride to and from the islands (a good breeze and a beautiful view of Toronto's skyline); ticket prices are roundtrip and you pay when boarding in mainland Toronto (they don't check tickets on the return trip); the lines here to buy tickets though can get incredibly long on weekends*** I noticed a few pay parking lots around the port.

They tend to get crowded during peak times and some of them smell like day-old pee. But it's all good when you stand on the open-air deck and feel the breeze off of Lake Ontario on a hot, summer day and take in the view of the surrounding Toronto cityscape. $6.50 roundtrip for adults to: Centre Island Ward's Island Hanlan's Point Portlands No charge to bring bikes on board but you can only take your wheels to Hanlan's and Ward's Island on weekends.

This review is actually of my ferry ride to Billy Bishop Airport. It could be the quickest ferry ride you do in your life! 5 minutes to catch your flight? Quick convenient and efficient? This was my experience. 2nd review of the main ferry over to Toronto Island which is much longer but a great magical place to come on a spring, summer or fall evening. Toronto island is an oasis getaway from the traffic, noise and buzz of busy city life to a place where you can experience tranquility and calm. The ferry ride has always been fun for me as you get awesome views of the Toronto skyline and harbour front that changes your perspective of this crazy busy metropolis. I've never timed it but it must be a good 20 minute ferry ride on a non windy-wavy day!

I visited Toronto this past weekend with my sister and we decided to check out the Toronto Islands. We had heard there was some flooding on the islands but figured it was worth a trip to get a great view of the city skyline. The weather on Saturday was cloudy, then rainy, then hot and sunny, then rainy, then cloudy again but we decided to brave the trip anyway. We parked near the ferry terminal for $7 CAD at a condo building's parking ramp off of Queens Quay and jumped in line at the ferry terminal. The line moved very quickly and when we got up to pay it was only $7 CAD per person round trip. Not too bad at all! There was a ferry waiting as we arrived to so we hopped on board. Within seconds it started pouring. We sat on the top deck which is covered and has an unobstructed view of the city. There are plenty of life preservers all over the ferry so we felt pretty safe in the event of an accident. The trip to Centre Island took about 10 minutes and when we arrived the rain stopped, the sun came out, and we were back on terra firma. The trip back was a little more stressful. There are other private companies offering trips to the islands on pontoon boats but they don't return their passengers to the ferry terminal. Instead everyone rides the big Toronto Ferry Company ferries back to the ferry terminal. We wanted to leave the island around 5pm and the line to get on the ferry filled up the corral and was snaking along the path towards the amusement park. There were tons of bikes and strollers in line too, some of which couldn't fit through the corral. A bit of a disaster if you ask me. We skipped ahead of these people by moving efficiently through the corral and found ourselves on the ferry close to the front doors for drop off. Before we knew it we were on our back to the city and 10 minutes later we were walking back to our car. This ferry is a great deal if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The ferries run every 15 minutes or so and offer great views of the city and get you back and forth with relative ease. It also offers trips to other parts of the island too. If I'm back in Toronto and want to check out the islands again I'll definitely be using the ferry. Would definitely recommend.

This boat is really crowded but it does get you wherever you need to go. If you want to get a good seat than try to get there early but it still has good views.

went during the "winter season" so wards island was the only destination that was offered was happy with the ferry it self, not so happy with some of the workers, before i got onto the boat i was asked if i had a ticket, but i already handed it into another person to get to that stage? not so happy with the signage to get to the terminal, i took the ttc to the streetcar stop that was advertised to be linked with the terminal...not the case, you have to cross the street, then another street, and walk towards the lake and you will run into it. a little bit of a heads up, once you get passed the first checkpoint, your locked in, so if you have to wait for the ferry, might want to walk around a bit before hand. otherwise, wicked service, nice to get photos of everything on the way to the island. will be back

Enjoyed my ride. It was short overall and worth the time and effort to reach Toronto Islands.

Has anyone given the Ferry a bad review? It's a trip to the island with the best views of the city.

The ferry ride was smooth and it only took about 15 minutes to get to a Toronto Island using the ferry. It was fun seeing the different views of the Toronto skylines. I had lots of fun recording videos and taking pictures at the top deck on the boat. You can also choose where you want to sit, like if you want to be indoors or outdoors and you can constantly walk around the boat too. Ok so the reason why I took the ferry was because it brings you to Toronto Island. Toronto Island is a place with a lot of different activities and beaches. For example, they have a theme park, a variety of small beaches like a nude beach, and also places to sit and relax. You can also get a good Toronto skyline view there too! I'd recommend this ferry! It wasn't bumpy, but the boat can get crowded. Later, I found out that there are also a thing called "water taxis" if you want a private ride to and from the island, so that option would be good for people who don't want to be on a crowded boat.

TLDR: Good price compared to the water taxi but not really worth the long waits…read more Ferry schedule attached We thought the 15-20 min note on the bottom was accurate It was not. We were waiting 7:40pm in line, got to the front but didn't get on the ferry, and couldn't get out for the water taxi since we had a wagon and kid in wagon. We had to wait. We thought one will come back for us 8:20 or 8:30....it didn't come back until 8:53. Left at 9:02. We arrived in the city like 9:10pm. Everyone is grumpy and tired. The lines weren't orderly, lots of people tried to push in in front of us and some butted in from the left side and since we had the wagon and kid; we couldn't move fast enough. They don't have seats for us to sit, but have to wait for more than an hour. People can't even leave to go to the bathroom. What a mess. Next time we may try the water taxi if the lines are crazy long. Not worth standing for 1.5 hours.

We paid the latter, which was $13.50. The poster clearly said the fare was one-way when we visited. After about a 5-10 minute wait, our water taxi had arrived. It felt like we were going high speed, with wind in our hair and a great view surrounding us 360 degrees. The taxi docked at Centre Island, and everyone disembarked.

It's also only a few dollars more expensive. Usually I take the water taxi to the island, and the ferry back. The ferry back is free, and you need to check the city time table. They have two docks - one at Yonge St and Queens Quay, behind the Greek restaurant, and one at York St and Queens Quay, behind Beaver Tails. Recently the price is $12.50 cash, $13.50 card, one way. You can expect to wait up to 45 minutes on a long weekend, or sunny Saturday or Sunday. Otherwise, this year I've never waited more than 20 minutes. Often it has been 5-10 minutes Usually I go to Hanlans and the ride is about 5 minutes. You get incredible views of the city and it's worth the trip. Note: depending on the waves in the lake, you may get splashed, so you might not want to sit close to the front of the boat.

"An Incredible Niagara Falls Tour... Just Don't Miss the Bus"…read more What a tour. Seriously, worth every dollar. From start to finish, this was an extremely professional and well-organized experience. The tour guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and kept everything moving smoothly throughout the day. One of the best parts is how convenient the pickup system is -- they have pickup locations near all the major hotels in Toronto, which makes the whole process incredibly easy for travelers. There are several add-on options for the tour, and I highly recommend three of them: 1. The boat ride into the falls 2. Journey Behind the Falls 3. The helicopter ride The helicopter ride especially is one of those "you only live once" experiences. If it's outside your budget, though, the boat ride and Behind the Falls are still more than enough to make for an amazing full day. One thing I'd personally skip is the tower stop. The views are fine, but honestly the tower in Toronto is much better. Now for the one major warning: the cancellation and rescheduling policy is brutal. Even if your flight is delayed or canceled and you provide proof, you are still out the full amount. No refund, no reschedule, no flexibility. We learned this the hard way after our flight got badly delayed. I contacted them hoping to move our booking to the next day and basically got told, "good luck and goodbye." That said... the story has a happy ending. We ended up sprinting through the airport, grabbing a taxi directly from the terminal to the pickup location, and arrived at 8:03 for an 8:00 AM pickup. I had been communicating with them during the chaos and they agreed to hold the bus for five minutes. We used three of those five minutes like it was the final scene of an action movie... but we made it. In the end, I absolutely recommend this tour. Just book carefully, maybe avoid scheduling it immediately after your arrival flight, or get travel insurance for peace of mind. If you plan ahead, you're going to have an incredible time with a professional, organized tour company at Niagara Falls.

They made everything soooooo smooth. I arrived 10 min prior to arrival and our guide "John" met us there. He was amazing. Everything was so punctual. The minibus was filled with happy people! We did a few stops along the way including a toilet break at a beautiful flower park, a break for maple syrup tasting. John ensured everyone who purchased tickets to behind the falls and the steam boat tour had tickets. And he happily escorted our group to the front of the line. Everything went smooth and John along the way gave us facts about parks and buildings as well as a few fun history facts about Toronto. I highly recommend this tour. He was extremely patient and it's great for ppl of all ages.
