Flying for the first time with Porter Airlines gave me a pleasant experience. A little hiccup with 45 mins delayed to and from my Vancouver trip is not of a big deal. The comfort of the airlines smaller planes gives us a relaxed atmosphere like, seats are either window or aisle only. And overhead bins are more spacious and less crowded compared to larger aircraft. I enjoyed their complimentary in-flight amenities such as free snacks ( beans, cookies or nuts ) and beverages even some alcohol drinks they serve is free! Also we enjoyed the free wifi while up in the air. Do note that there's no PTV's (personal television) so you'll use your own device to access their complimentary wifi. Two lavatory one at the front and the other located at the end of the plane so if you're in a middle seat its bit of a trip. Both on the ground and in the air staff are very attentive, very professional and friendly. Overall, my Porter experience is great and will book here again. Highly recommended.

Took a quick flight from Chicago to Toronto and for a budget airline it was ok. My biggest issue was that you have to check in at the ticket counter and they state that they're supposed to arrive 2 hours before boarding time unfortunately that's not true. They were 45 minutes late while the line was already wrapped around. I also only brought a backpack and they tried to charge me for it even though it fit in the area where they check the bag size. The plane was a little dirty, but again for a budget airline and a quick flight it was fine.

Awesome leg room and charging ports. Legs on left is 6"2

Recently took a porter flight from Pearson to Edmonton. What a fantastic experience! Not only did we get complimentary alcoholic beverages and meals, but the flight was ahead of schedule. Grabbing those emergency room rows were really great for my very tall men. There are also really convenient charging ports at each seat and free wifi, so that you are always connected and charging your devices! I can't wait for Porter to offer more service to other destinations

Complimentary wine and chips!? YES PLEASE!!

The flights were on time, luggage made the flight and everyone was very nice and accommodating!

However, I received no email, text message, or any formal notification disclosing this information to me. So when I land in Toronto, I find out my flight was cancelled when the US customs officer scans my boarding pass. Delta made absolutely no effort to contact me regarding my cancellation. Upon going to the Delta desk at the airport, the worker is unable to disclose why my flight was cancelled, and says I've automatically been booked in the next flight. He is rude and reluctant to give me any information at all. I practically had to pry the new flight information out of him, to discover my next flight would be the next morning, over 12 hours later. I ask if the airline could provide a hotel for the inconvenience. As I had still received no word from the airline formally, and they could not provide details about why the flight was cancelled (the agent had now started telling me that the airport cancelled the flight... but no reason). He refused to provide any sort of accommodation, telling me he simply wouldn't. He refused to get a supervisor, but when he finally did, the supervisor essentially told me she didn't care and I had to figure everything else out myself. And then, I finally receive a text from Delta. Saying that my new flight the next morning is cancelled. And they would not be booking me a new flight. So essentially, Delta made zero effort to help. Leaving me stranded in Toronto. I am outraged by this. I am thankfully receiving a refund for my flight (which is the bare minimum I should be receiving). I ran to the Air Canada desk, and thankfully, they were able to book me on a last minute flight same day.

Let's just say... it was memorable--but not for the right reasons. Pancakes that were oddly chewy Sausages that tasted more like shredded cardboard than meat Coffee so acidic it felt like a science experiment Scrambled eggs that somehow didn't taste like eggs at all In sharp contrast, the WestJet business class breakfast I had onboard was a world apart--fresh, tasty, and well-prepared. A reminder that sometimes the in-flight meal actually beats the lounge offering. Airports and airlines put a lot into branding the "premium" experience, but at the end of the day, the food tells the real story. At check-in, we were asked to switch counters due to a shift change after already checking in one bag; the process was delayed and we ended up almost last. Since then, it has been 5 days and no one has given me a clear date or consistent answer: one day they say "it's on the way," the next they say "it's still in Barcelona." Customer service numbers don't respond or hang up the call. The most serious part: my suitcase contained a prescription cream for a severe allergy. I explained this urgently, yet I was judged and told that "such things should not be in a checked bag" instead of the airline taking responsibility for the issue. The bag also contained all my clothes, personal belongings, and gifts purchased in Europe. By comparison, we had a similar situation once with Air Canada: they gave us a tracking link, and the bag arrived the next day without any problem. With Air Transat: disorganization, rudeness, and zero solutions. A terrible experience from start to finish.

It was my first time flying out of YYZ on UA. I had a great experience. The only reason I fly on UA these days is because I got complimentary Silver Premier status through Marriott. It means that my first piece of checked luggage is free and its maximum weight is 70 pounds. It means that I save roughly $70 in luggage fees to and from YYZ. The UA check-in counter is behind all Air Canada (AC) ones. I am normally an AC flyer, so it was nice to do almost the same familiar routine. UA staffers were great telling me that I could use any kiosk to check in, and print out my boarding passes and baggage tags. The process was fairly straightforward. I wish, however, that these kiosks would allow you to print both your boarding passes and baggage tags with one check-in. Nope, you need to do the check-in process twice. I then found the luggage drop-off area. A nice man made sure that my luggage was good and assured me that it would go all the way to MSP. Yay! My flight left on time. Boarding in group 2 is cool to me. It's another perk that I get with this new UA status. It guarantees that I will have a place to stow my backpack in the overhead compartment. It's also nice to board with little stress. The funny thing is that I tend to board with an economy ticket, which makes some staffers at the check-in counter do a double-take, expecting me to be in first class. Service on the flight was stellar. We had a captain tell us that we'd get to ORD early. His communication with us was excellent and reassuring throughout the flight. The flight attendants were wonderful. I was happy to get a full can of Diet Coke. I also got to try Brownie Brittles for the first time. OMG! They were so good. I loved them so much that flight attendants came around for a second round. I nabbed another package. "These brittles are so good!" I said, perhaps too enthusiastically. "Right? They are yummy!" she said, agreeing with me. I liked that we were arriving in ORD earlier. I had a 1.5-hour layover. I dislike ORD when it comes to flight transfers. From one UA flight to another, the transfer isn't bad. You are either in the same concourse, or you need to move between concourses B to C . If you're on two different flights, you can easily be doing a sprint to your connecting flight because it's quite the distance. Luckily, I landed in concourse B and flew out of the same one. Thank you! Flying on UA is growing on me. I dig it. (86)

I don't say they are dangerous. In fact they are a lot safer than most airlines. The reason is that it's hard to get on to their flight, after you've paid for their ticket. So half the time you don't even get to fly. Staying on the ground is a lot safer than flying. We bought tickets in August, for a flight in December. Due to the huge lineups, there was just a little bit over 80 minutes left when we got to the counter. It was a domestic Mexican flight, and we were already checked in the day before. All we needed was to get our luggage to the flight which was entirely possible to do. Aeromexico said that they couldn't do it, and that we needed to buy new tickets. The new tickets would be twice as expensive as the originals. But, they threatened, if we didn't buy the new tickets they would cancel our return flight as well. So under duress we bought the new tickets. Amazingly, with the new tickets, they were able to get our luggage to the flight in half the time, just 40 minutes before the flight. I guess the speed of luggage movement depends on how much money you give these bastards. but guess what? They did cancel the return flight too. They said we needed to buy a third set of tickets to get the return flight!!!! Obviously we used a different airline for that. Aeromexico is never going to get my business again. They will be out of business I hope very soon.

I waited and waited, hauling my heavy suitcase back and forth to the counter and back. Finally the supervisor showed up and indicated that my covid test result though negative had expired by approximately one hour, I stated that I had been sent the results just about an hour ago. She wouldn't budge and maintained that it had expired, that I wouldn't be allowed to fly and no matter what I said to her she just stated that those were Aeromexico's policies. I mentioned that I am a Canadian citizen, that upon arriving in Toronto I was probably going to be subjected to yet another covid test at the airport, since tests are being conducted randomly at Toronto Pearson's airport, but nothing I said worked, so I had to take a VERY expensive cab back to where I was staying and proceed to undergo another expensive covid test. I also asked if Aeromexico was going to book me on another flight and I was told that they were not going to honour my original round-trip fare, that I had to purchase a brand new ticket, which happened to be quite expensive. Another employee from Aeromexico indicated that I was treated in an arbitrary and Unfair manner, that he would have allowed me to fly.

A tad bit more expensive than other airlines. But the last 2 flights I've been on have been terrible. One, we arrived in Vegas on time but they didn't have ground crew so we sat on the runway for 3 hours after we landed - not even at a gate! I purposely picked a flight that arrived in Vegas around dinner time so I can grab something to eat along the way before going home but nope! I was starving, I was getting very annoyed and anxious, babies were crying making the situation worse. By the time we got to a gate, it was already 11:30pm! No food, no drinks, no nothing was offered in the 3 hours we sat there. Flight disaster #2: LAS-YYZ-DOH to watch the World Cup. Air Canada took 3 days to deliver the luggage that was left behind in Toronto Airport and offered no reimbursement! A friend also has a flight disaster story about Air Canada. She was supposed to go on a cruise - flight was so delayed, the cruise ship left without her! On top of that, her luggage also got lost and she didn't get it until 5 days later! Unacceptable! Get it together, Air Canada! I know there's all sorts of labor shortages and what not everywhere but Air Canada has been consistent with disappointing its customers big time and they don't give a damn! I read tons of…read morenegative reviews beforehand and we were very nervous our flight would be cancelled for delayed. We purchased the travel interruption service via Flair airlines and had no issues with transportation. Check-In: It was super easy to check in online 24 hours before our flight. Make sure you write down the six digit code confirming your flight when you pay for your tickets. This is your code for checking in both ways on a round trip fare. As long as you have this, you are golden. We checked in online and waited in line in Toronto. The line was short and moved really quickly. We arrived three hours before our flight and it was the perfect amount of time to check in, clear customs, have a second breakfast and board the plane. Take Off: Our flight boarded on time and it was smooth sailing. The flight left 20 minutes late and the pilot profusely apologized. Compared to Air Canada and West Jet last year, flying with Flair was a breeze. The other major airlines were so chaotic during check-in and were delayed 10 hours and 7 hours, our experience with Flair was a breeze. The Flight: The flight was good but the app they told us to download for in-flight entertainment did not work either way. There was no in-flight wi-fi and I was disappointed they advertised this service. The flying was smooth and we only hit turbulence one time both ways. The landing was smooth both ways and the pilots did an amazing job. The seating is also bigger and more spacious than the seating on two of Canada's major airlines that we flew on earlier in 2023. The Food: Flair airlines offers food like pizza, nachos and other glutinated items. If you have food allergies or are gluten and lactose intolerant like me, there will not be anything you can eat. I recommend you buy snacks in the airport or bring them from home. Baggage: I have qualms regarding the baggage. I purchased Flair airlines baggage insurance and it apparently only covers bags that do not arrive. My bag was cosmetically damaged during transit and they will not cover this. I was very disappointed to see my beautiful red bag covered in black grease. Would I Recommend Flair Airlines: I recommend Flair airlines for flying out of big hubs or flights that appear full. I would not recommend Flair for trips from/to smaller hubs where the flights do not appear full, as I heard horror stories about flying to/from Abbotsford, Calgary and Vancouver. It appears leaving Toronto and heading to a warm destinations like Dominican during the holiday season is a safer bet. I would recommend you get the travel insurance as it ensures you'll be on a flight within 3 hours if your flight is cancelled or delayed.

In Dec 2022, I was very lucky to board the F8500 YFK TO YVR and F81501 from YVF to YFK(Waterloo airport). With a ski bag, boot bag and personal bag Lucky is an understatement, I was grounded for a week along with many other flights and fortunately YVR airport stepped in to compensate hotels, meals and transit because Flair Airlines was not providing any compensation or accommodation. In this same flight, I took on a ski bag that was only used for one other trip and a boot bag. I even stored my helmet in my boot bag padded with towel. My ski bag was ripped and my boot bag was also damaged, along with the helmet being crushed. There was a big dent. After 3 years I did get a resolution with Canadian Transport Agency for my ski baggage refunded, the compensation for a new ski bag and compensation for a new helmet. I didn't both with the boot bag- it was old. In this experience I found severe inconsistencies with handling ski bag and boot bag. Flair YFK expected me to duct tape the boot bag with the ski bag. And truly before leaving I did try to get clarification as some standard ski bags only have room for skis and poles. While at YVR. they did a quick test on the skis (not sure what) and away I go in the oversized section. So after being stranded for a week with excessive wait for Flair to go on repeat cancel flight then reschedule a week later I took a break from Flair. In April 2026.i took it to YFK TO YYC and YYC TO YYZ with a ski bag and a personal bag , I decided to give it another try, one thing is that going from YFK would save me the transfer time to Toronto Pearson airport. This time at YFK I wasn't asked to duct tape my boot and ski bag INTERESTING! So this time, I took a roller style where I placed two boots and one ski in one bag and a second bag to carry another set of skis. In the bag, I carried another ski bag for the boot just in case I got separated from my travel companion. It was easy breezy but the personal bag size limits POST flair bag sizing scandal was a bit sketch and heavily enforced. So much that they are tagging carry on and personal bags. On the return from YYC to YYZ, I watched another patron with a ski bag and a standard boot bag (side hang mount with space for helmet, snow pants and snow layers), have his content ripped apart. Understand that if you are skiing, you will also be carrying long johns, extra layers, ski jacket (built with arm ventilation and snow skirt), snow pants (with vents potentially) and a person may have a conventional jacket depending time of year. While I didn't have issues, there is a severe inconsistency and I dunno if he just had a hard time because the patron was not familiar that you can't fit boots in some ski bag configurations. And while the website doesn't specifically say restrictions for ski related clothing- there shouldn't be much of a restriction. I should mention snowboarders have but pads, elbow pads, knee pads- and some pants are built in with the ppe. My travel companion got dinged for $100 just carrying a standard puma bag- usually around 6kg with a Mac book and some light clothes. IF HE DIDNT PAY THE $100 he would not be allowed to board the flight is what he shared with me. The competitor Air Canada was running flights around mid-$500 to $600 and with my branded credit card I get two checked bags. So $420 vs $600. I'm not sure it's extremely worth the hassle with the additional fear of being surcharged. Overall in 2026 the difference with handling is that flair offers a $60 credit if they are delayed up to one hour. YFK to YYC I found my wait time 50min, not enough to get a credit. I also found that each reservation was made separately and this resulted in randomized seating-some children separated from their kid. I also noticed a credit card charge applied on reservation- so debit saves you- but then you can't use the benefits for flight delays and travel interruption. The change fee was $190 for me to change my return fromYFK to YYZ, because change was within 7 days. Overall lots of anxiety travelling with strict personal bags. You sort of have to make sure your destination has washing ability because you're packing lighter. Overall travelling with a ski bag with boot bag or all in one roller is possible but I have overall anxiety. I certainly don't argue that my flight with ski gear was around $300 per person and I added a $190 change. If I used Air Canada, I would be charged similar unless it was a point redemption then I have 24-48 hours to refund the points and taxes. I should note that the flair website restricts one set of boot and ski per passenger while paying for checked baggage with air canada you can fill it with as much skis- so I usually throw all the skis in a standard roller and boots in a hard case luggage.
