We travelled to Morocco with air transat. First thing we get on our phone is to download movies /games etc to watch on your phones, totally unbelievable. Talking about the food . Sorry to say it was not good and the portion is a kids meal. Then from Morocco to Toronto the agent made a mistake with my son's name and issued a boarding pass , that delayed us sooo much . read more

i will do all i can to never ever fly with them again. this is the worst airline, ever. these kind of airlines do not need huge planes. they think because the tickets are inexpensive, they can overcrowd the plane but they have no sense of preparation. at all. my flight from london was delayed. the flight attendants except ONE was incredibly rude. it was just a terrible experience. read more

Do not fly with Air Transat. On Saturday, I flew on flight TS261 from Barcelona to Montreal with my family and my suitcase never arrived. At check-in, we were asked to switch counters due to a shift change after already checking in one bag; the process was delayed and we ended up almost last. Since then, it has been 5 days and no one has given me a clear date or consistent answer: one day they say "it's on the way," the next they say "it's still in Barcelona." Customer service numbers don't respond or hang up the call. The most serious part: my suitcase contained a prescription cream for a severe allergy. I explained this urgently, yet I was judged and told that "such things should not be in a checked bag" instead of the airline taking responsibility for the issue. The bag also contained all my clothes, personal belongings, and gifts purchased in Europe. By comparison, we had a similar situation once with Air Canada: they gave us a tracking link, and the bag arrived the next day without any problem. With Air Transat: disorganization, rudeness, and zero solutions. A terrible experience from start to finish. read more

They refused to let me embark on my flight because they had incorrect information about traveling to Europe with dogs. I traveled many times on the same route with Air Canada and never had any problems. But the worst part was the fact that I had a panic attack at the check-in counter and no one cared. Their personnel just walked around me as if I didn't exist. It was an inhuman treatment. Never again will I fly with this awful company. read more

Don't use this airline! I traveled with them and they made me lose my flight because of issues with their system. They made me pay for another flight and submit a claim for reimbursement, instead of them giving me another one for free as it was their fault. When submitting a claim they said it takes 30 working days minimum to review my case read more

It was horrible. L airline. They didn't offer extra drinks and the air conditioning sucked.

Me and my husband flew on Air Transat on our Honeymoon to London. A travel agent recommended them as providing cheaper direct flights to London then some of the competition, but despite being frugal, I will never ride this airline again. So why two stars then? I have a hard time going as low as one start when the stewardesses were friendly and attentive, the price was cheap, and I did have an exciting vacation. My biggest question for Air Transat is, it is the year 2018, where are your air vents? Now I will preface this with the fact that I sometimes think I am hot blooded. I always feel warm. Even in this frigid winter in wny when lots of women are wearing cute sweaters and scarves, I can't because I tend to overheat. I instead like to wear short sleeve shirts with a cardigan which I can take off when I am feeling warm. But seriously?!? I have NEVER been on an airplane with no air vent. The first thing I do when I get on an airplane is turn the air vent on. The second I walked on the plane I noticed and realized it was going to be a rough flight. Unfortunately, I might have been able to bravely take on the lack of fresh air, as I did have a successful ride home, but on the way there we got grounded in Montreal. Mind you, that was after flying an hour past Montreal, meaning we had to fly back to land, and then sit on the plane for 4 hours as they wouldn't let us off and then take off and fly the rest of the way to London, so after being on the plane for almost 12 hours the heat really got to me. Although I am a rather extreme case, other people were noticing and mentioning the heat as well, so it wasn't just me. A family friend traveled on the same flight a month later and learned from our mistake, she got one of those small fans you can wear around your neck and she said she was very glad for the tip as the ride would have been much worse without it. It was a very miserable ride for me. The stewardesses were attentive and helpful. But I cannot get past the air vents. Until I have proof that their planes have them, I will not step foot on Air Transat, despite the price. read more

Everyone who knows me knows ... I am super picky to the point of obsession about service. I flew them last night from Glasgow. These women worked hard to provide service. So why am I giving them a 3? Because the Stews. would barrel down the aisles and step on your foot/toe (not on purpose ... they just see their passengers as cattle after a while). I never touch airline food except on Emirates. Also - why do airline personnel feel the need to douse themselves in perfume? In a closed, airless capsule? Makes no sense ... read more

I realize I am only 24, but I can say with certainty that this was absolutely the worst experience I have had in my entire life to date. Flying from London Gatwick to Toronto. Arrived at the airport at 8:30am for a 11:15am departure time. Got to the check-in desk and was told bluntly that there was a 3 hour delay, and we could pick up a £5 voucher at the customer service desk. After lining up for a good 25 minutes at the customer service desk, I got my £5. Shot the shit until I could board, which ended up being around 3:15pm (4 hours after promised takeoff). Sat at the gate for about an hour before we were told there were "computer issues" ... 1 hour goes by and finally a mechanic is coming to fix the issue ... 2 hours go by and now the issue has been fixed and we're being de-iced (on +2°C night in London England) ... 2 hours goes by and now we're waiting for a runway to take off ... Now we're letting off 2 people who requested to leave the flight ... 1 hour goes by and now we get the announcement we're ready to go... But we're 3rd in line for takeoff... I don't know if anyone has ever sat for 6 WHOLE HOURS inside a plane without budging, but I swear it's a very special kind of hell. Especially when hope is constantly shattered every time the pilot says "just 2 more minutes here". People were booing every time the pilot started to speak. People yelling at flight attendants, everyone was antsy and aggravated in this very confined space. At one point they turned off the AC for 10 minutes to de-ice the plane. I had to do breathing meditation to avoid having a panic attack or passing out) We were told if we left the flight during our 6 hour stint on the tarmac, we would forfeit our flight and Air Transac would do nothing to help us. We took off the runway at around 9pm. To put that in perspective, we were supposed to fly out at 11:15am. That's a total of a 10 HOUR delay. We landed in Toronto at 12am, as opposed to the originally promised 2pm arrival time. The flight attendants were very very lovely people and very kind and patient. But the ground Air Transac staff after landing were some of the worst people I have ever spoken to. The first lady I asked for a Taxi voucher, she told me there's no need because the TTC (Toronto subway) runs 24/7. This was a lie and I told her so. The second lady handed me a useless piece of paper that basically said "Sorry.. hope you still like us!" I asked where I can get a taxi voucher and she (very rudely) told me to just send my receipt to Air Transac, which I will be doing. I have JUST arrived home, and it is now 3:20am Toronto time - 24 hours after I arrived at Gatwick. I can safely say, in my 24 years of living, this has been the most stressful, painful, and claustrophobic 24 hours of my life. NEVER fly this airline. You have been warned. It is NOT worth it. read more

After refusing to address my concerns (attached in the pictures with a cracked ceiling, duct tape on the wings, my armrest on the floor with the wires hanging out, etc) I'm reporting them to the CTA for safety violations. I'm flying again with them in April because I have to but they wouldn't even offer to upgrade my seats this time for the seats and experience I had last time. I've had enough with their safety violations and their response to those who have been subjected to them. They simply do not care about your well-being or want to resolve any concerns you have because they know if you're taking the airline it's because you can't afford to take another. That is simply an abusive way to view and treat your customers. If you can wait and save up a tiny bit more to take any other airline, do it! If we start respecting ourselves, airlines will soon follow. read more

We just returned from our European Vacation. Booked Air Transat Vancouver to Gatwick, Rome to Toronto then Toronto to Vancouver. The Airbus planes were a bit tight but when we got onto the plane from Toronto to Vancouver AT had switched our flight from the Airbus to the 737. We had booked a front row seat but it turned out to be in the 8th row. I'm not a tall person (5'9") but my knees were jammed up against in front of me. Today, 4 days later, my knees are still sore and bruised. I booked through a travel agent (Flight Centre) and I will be forwarding my issues with them. I will never fly Air Transat again and I will be spreading the word through social media. read more

Air Transat, I booked my flight from London (gatwick) to Vancouver BC. It was very cheap so they bet everyone as far as price so I get it is no frills, The flight was fine and the customer service was fantastic..... There is no in flight entertainment and I get it but on a 8 hour flight followed by a 5 hour flight yes it does take its toll, But this plane was OLD. it was like flying in the mid nineties it was great. I was lucky enough to have downloaded the apps and have alot of netflix offline downloads so I was fine and I would highly reccomened this option. But the airline does not tell you before you fly that there is no tv screens on the seats and if you dont have headphones you shell 9 $ for some, so be careful and make sure you prep for this flight or esle you may be in for shock. But apart from that it was a great flight and no other complaints read more

Vacation Nightmare, worst customer service phone call I got. I traveled with Air Transat to Europe before. The price is cheap and service was good. However, when I tried to book my vacation this year, I chose Air Transat vacation over Air Canada because it was cheaper. However, the service I got from Air Transat was so much worse than Air Canada. When I book the vacation package, on the website, it says "Only 2 Room left at this price", so I booked my vacation immediately. However the label on the website is a completely LIE! Do not believe it when you saw the label. After I book the vacation and came back in 2 weeks, it supposes to be at most 1 room left since I booked the one of last 2 rooms, however, on the website, it still says "Only 2 Room left at this price". That label is pure static. I want to cancel my vacation since I decide to go with Air Canada Vacation instead (better service and better deal). I put down my deposit of $310 for 2 people. However, the cancellation fee is $250 per person, which is $500 in total. If I just left my deposit where it is, i pay less money. However, I think Air Transat sold my info to those third-party debt collector company and I got the RUDEST customer service phone call ever. The lady on the phone was so bad. I told her I was not going to go and I don't want to cancel because the cancellation fee was higher than than the deposit. However, the lady was like "I don't care. Call the phone number in the email we sent to you." (Not exact words, but something like that.) So I hang up. Tip: try to avoid Air Transat vacation as much as possible. Air Canada and West Jet has better service. read more

Club seating is an absolute joke!! Club seats shown online are nothing like what you get when you board the plane. In fact there is less room then coach on a delta flight. In May of this year I booked a vacation package through Expedia/AARP that included a round trip flight on this airline. This was to be my first (52 yrs old) travel outside of North America. Leaving YVR to CDG on June 19 with a layover in Toronto Returning CDG to YVR direct flight on July 10th I broke my foot before the trip. I called as advised on AT (AirTransat) website and one of the representatives was kind enough to help me get a seat selection to accommodate my cast. I was truly grateful. So far I am happy The first leg of the flight was 4 1/2 hours and it was tough even with the extra legroom. All of the flight crew was very kind and caring during the flight but I was in excruciating pain in this tiny seat. I regretted not upgrading. I reach Paris and escorted from the plane by special services with my medical knee scooter and another young man remains with me to get my luggage, only my luggage does not arrive. I wait in line to tell the person working the lost luggage counter. I explain that I am very worried as my luggage has medical equipment on it that I need and extra meds. She advises me to also email AT so that it will be taken as an urgent matter and she hands me a small pouch with a couple of toiletries in it. I take a cab to my hotel. I am exhausted in pain and I am in much need of sleep. I email the address that I was given with more information along with pictures of my luggage tag etc. I get an automated reply and I never hear back from anyone. The next morning I follow up and I still here nothing back. Late that afternoon I get a call that my luggage has been located and I should have it by this evening. It arrived late that evening without so much as an apology. No one ever followed up my emails with a phone call to see if I needed help, money for extra expenses or anything. Very disappointing. 2 weeks into my awesome 3 week vacation I took a fall and by the next morning the pain was confirming that I needed to go home and have it rechecked by my orthopedic Dr. I called AirTransat that morning to find out what I needed to do to change the flight. I was advised by a rep to call a different number that could help me even though I had booked through a 3rd party since I had already started my trip. I was told to call a different # at 9 am EST. When I called I got a recording saying that they were closed due to the holiday (Canada Day). So I then tried to reach someone at the first number twice and waited on hold for 30 minutes and my call was never picked up by any person. I waited and called the next day (Sunday) and spent nearly an hour on hold and never spoke with anyone. I am calling on my cellphone from Paris. Are you kidding me! Am I being punked? I decided that I needed to go to the Airport and change my flight there.... apparently not! They could not help me, but gave me another # to call and I waited on hold for another 40 mins only to be told I needed to call another number! All in all 3 days wasted in pain, about 160 minutes on the phone I had to pay $400 to change my ticket and I still couldn't leave for another 3 days. I tried to upgrade and was told no upgrades available but at the airport I was told I could for 2 x as much as I had been quoted before. Telephone support is just a nightmare. The flight crew was good on the flight to Paris and exceptional on the return flight. I am sorry that they weren't running the telephone support. I would have given 0 stars if I could with the exception of the flight crew! read more

Beware, pre-paid seat selection and Checked bags are non-refundable. Ridiculous and makes absolutely no sense. This was two weeks in advance. Poor service. i will not be booking with them again. 1. The flight attendant was very rude and snapping at people as they boarded the plane saying they shouldn't have entered those doors (everyone was instructed to go choose and entrance -front or back of the plane- to board) 2. After our flight was delayed and we were stuck on the plane for 4 extra hours (our flight was supposed to be only 4 hours, but we were stuck on the plane for 8 hours). I understand it had something to do with rescanning everyone's luggage which was the fault of the Airport in the Dominican but the issue was what Air Transat did (or did not do) for us. They hardly provided updates as to what was going on. People were getting antsy and hungry. They got sandwiches for everyone from the airport (ham and cheese option only) and when people asked for vegetarian they refused. What they failed to understand or acknowledge is that not everyone eats ham (especially due to religious reasons). What was worse was they said it was the only option and quite a few people did not eat the sandwiches as they couldn't. Two hours into the flight they started SELLING food where they could have easily offered those options (for free) to the people who weren't able to have the ham and cheese option that was forced onto them. The flight attendant was very rude and snapping at people as they boarded the plane saying they shouldn't have entered those doors (everyone was instructed to go choose and entrance -front or back of the plane- to board) Will never book through this airline and recommend you choose another. read more

They don't send you a boarding pass electronically and will not print your boarding pass if you arrive to their counter checked in when there is one hour left for departure. What's the point of checking in if you have to go to the counter to get your boarding pass? Seats are tiny, and customer service is rude and unhelpful to say the least. They told me that they spoke with the Air Transat staff at the airport and confirmed that no one had come to the counter, therefore I must've gone to the wrong counter! Air Transat really left a stain on our vacation. I reached out to them over social media and was asked to send an email. Not only did they not return my email, but they also deleted my comments to destroy any trace of what had happened. We will NEVER fly Air Transat ever again. read more

The only reason I give one star is because I couldn't give zero star. Flying from Montreal to Vancouver, they force us to check in all the carry on luggage. I saw a lot of people arguing with them because they have important stuff in the luggage. The staff's attitude is very rude. On the ticket, it clearly states that each person has one carry on luggage. What's the reason that people want to carry on luggage? Because it is important. I booked and paid for an Air Transat Vacation from Toronto YYZ to Punta Cana PUJ Jan 20 - Jan 27, 2019. My confirmation number: 50509082 I booked DIRECTLY with Air Transat by phone for 2 adults and 1 child. Our return flight departed from PUJ at approx. 11:20pm. We arrived in Toronto on Jan 28th. After retrieving my luggage from the carousel, but before exiting Customs, I opened the suitcase to retrieve my winter jacket packed inside. That is when I saw various items opened from zippered cases and sunglasses out of its case strewn about. My camera bag was opened, and the camera was stolen. It was not found in the suitcase, or the other 2 checked suitcases. My Fossil sunglasses are damaged with one eye's glass gone. My camera was a Canon digital Powershot model. The battery charger was left in the camera case and so was the usb cord. Sadly, I did not take out the SD card. I waited on hold twice for over 40 minutes each time, never reaching a real person. Worst airline ever!!! I feel the need to share what I'm currently experiencing so people don't fall in the same trap. I booked flights with Air Transat on June 8, 2020 and they were cancelled on June 11, 2020. 3 days later. In an email, it said flights would resume by July 22, 2020 but in their website, there is no flight to my destination until November, 2020. Air Transat has refused to refund my money for my flight on July 3 to July 31, 2020 and has only given me a voucher for the value I spent with an expiration date. Westjet is flying to my destination on July 7, 2020 but my money is tied up in a voucher with Air Transat that I can't use until November 2020. If Air Transat gave me the refund, I can book and fly with another airline. If I do not book a flight with Air transat before their expiration date, I lose my money. They keep my money unless I travel within their schedule to their limited locations. That doesn't not seem ethical to me. I'm not in the financial position to donate money to a million dollar company like Air Transat but they certainly do not care. I may be forced to fly with them one last time and I may be forced to spend even more so I don't lose my money but I will NEVER use them again. I encourage everyone else to beware of Air Transat as other airlines are offering refunds but Air transat will keep your money, maybe indefinitely if you don't travel to their chosen destinations as per their schedule. Please don't end up in the unfortunate situation I'm in. Have a great night everyone! read more

Hmm...where to start? We left Toronto for Athens on Sep 29...check-in was relatively easy and our plane left on time. No problems there. The plane itself was actually ok, not the most comfortable I've been on, but at least I had my own private tv screen and could chose my own movies, which on a 9 1/2 hour overnight flight is a huge plus. Now, I know we live in Canada and that we have 2 official languages, but lord have mercy, was it really necessary to make EVERY SINGLE announcement in English, French and Greek? By the time the cabin crew finished one announcement it was already time for another. I swear there was probably only 1 solid hour of silence during the entire 9 1/2 hours. This seriously did my head in. I couldn't sleep because as soon as I dozed off there was yet another announcement being made. At one point they announced that there was someone on the plane with a severe peanut allergy (more than halfway through the flight and most people were trying to sleep) and that that everyone should refrain from eating peanuts! Seriously? It's 4am, no one is eating peanuts and does it really take 15 minutes to make a one sentence announcement in THREE languages? Shoot me, please, I beg of you! We landed in Athens without incident, jet lagged and hungry, but hey, we made it. The return portion of our trip was a bit of a shit show. We had booked our tickets back in June and then found out in late July early August that Greece was planning a national general strike on October 19th, our planned return date. Upon finding out about the strike, I immediately called Air Transat to ask if there was anything we should be doing, such as switching to another flight and they said no since these things are normally canceled, etc. So we really didn't give it another thought...that is until we arrived in Athens and found out that the general strike was in fact proceeding as planned. I called Air Transat again and was told that they were not aware of any pending strike action and that the plane would be departing as scheduled. Ok then. Fast forward to Oct 17 when we returned to Athens for the final 2 days of our vacation. When we arrived at our hotel there were notices posted everywhere warning of the strike action and what services would be closed. Airports and metro were closed on Oct 19. We were advised to contact Air Transat once again. Which we did. I was told this time that they had no information and that I would have to call them back again the next day (Oct 18). At this point, we decided to book an additional night at our hotel just in case. In the end it took no less than 6 calls to our travel agent in Toronto and Air Transat's representative in Athens, Tour Greece before we were finally told that our flight was canceled and would be flying out on Oct 20th instead. Fine. After walking through tear gas clouds and seeing nothing but broken glass, marble and burning garbage on the streets surrounding our hotel, we were grateful to be delayed by only 1 day. We arrived at the airport on Oct 20th, were checked in immediately. We were told upon check in that the flight was delayed by about 30 minutes, but would still be leaving that day. Phew! Flight left as indicated, 30 minutes late. The plane was awful. The seats were tiny and crammed, no individual screens, we had to crane our necks to see the tiny screen 3 rows ahead of us. During the initial announcements at the beginning of the flight we found out that the normally 9 1/2 hour flight would be closer to 11 hours due to strong headwings over the Atlantic (totally not their fault of course, but frustrating nonetheless). We were served the smallest lunch I've ever seen about 2 hours into the flight and then nothing else until about 2 hours before landing in Montreal! To say I was starving was an understatement. I ate almost an entire box of Turkish candies I had hoped to bring back home, but my stomach was about to crawl out of my mouth and go hunting for it's own food at this point. We landed in Montreal, for what was supposed to be a 1-hour stop for a change in cabin crew, pilots and refuelling. We were there for almost 2 1/2 hours and were not able to leave the plane during this entire time. We finally arrived in Toronto after over 14 hours of travel time. What a mess. read more

I've booked a flight with you on March 2nd. Today, April 19th, while trying to check in my bag I was refused to check in as the service person said there was a damage on my passport that I didn't even notice, the ink was peeling and it's like an accident, it can happen, if you spill water or something, it can happen, you cannot get a passport replaced in 30 min! I had other documents with me to prove I am who I am. Air Transat didn't let me get on board and would not allow me to get to Mexico for the holiday. I bought through Expedia a package and the tickets for my husband and I were over $1600. I've called them and they cannot process a refund or credit if the air company already charged Expedia for my ticket. This is stealing money. We could not get into the airplane and now I tried to contact you over the phone and you don't want to refund me or give me a credit for a flight you did not allow me to get in. And I am not even adding that I paid extra for seats and check 1 bag. The flight is Air Transat 490. I don't have extra $ to just throw away and you are keeping my money for a service you didn't allow me to use for no fair reason. Air Transat is not immigration services and you cannot refuse me to get on board for such reason. This is stealing. I'm not a fan of Air Transat's business practices. I booked a vacation with them and they advertised the resort as having three a la carte restaurants and international drinks. These were key reasons we chose the resort and Transat. When we arrive there was one a la carte and no international drinks. The resort didn't even make local drinks. No mojito at any bar on the resort in Cuba? Bizarre. The tour company rep on the resort even told us not to be bothered with the one a la carte restaurant because it was garbage. Why would Transat blatantly lie about the property and if it was sub-standard why would they bother offering it as a package? They have an employee on the resort daily so they should have some insight into what's going on there. I was also displeased when the price of the exact package we booked dropped $300 per person. I was aware they have a policy of not refunding the difference so I wrote an e-mail just letting them know I was displeased with that policy, that I understood they do not provide refunds for price drops, but that I just wanted to share my concern. I got a rude/form letter back saying they were declining my request for a refund. Apparently they can't be bothered to read correspondence from customers as I didn't even ask for a refund. Whatever. It was a learning experience. Never again. read more

Air Transat responded with a $100 voucher redeemable for any flight before 2014. Not bad, not great. Have an extra star. Humourously, I quote from their response: Regrettably, the complexity of aircraft is such that every carrier experiences technical problems from time to time, despite rigorous and expert maintenance. Nevertheless, we certainly understand how displeasing your flights were and can assure you that we have made our Maintenance Department aware in order to avoid future reoccurrence. It is important to point out that our main priority is the safe transportation of passengers, a priority and obligation that was fulfilled. Thanks for pointing out that last point, Air Transat. I too, am glad your plane didn't fall out of the sky. read more

Overall satisfactory experience with Air Transat. Bought a round-trip from Toronto to Faro for less than $800. Air craft was new and clean. Service was good. Seats were comfortable. On my return, the air craft had a gasoline leak (scary)! The crew made an excellent decision that safety was the most important. They arranged a 5 star hotel for all passengers near a beach in Algarve. Their handling of this incident was excellent. The coordination could have been better. Their crew was inexperienced which caused many hours of delay at the airport. We were trapped in a lounge for 4 hours before they announced the leak could not be fixed. The next morning, from leaving the hotel (7:30am) to departure (12:20pm) was another 5 hours of long wait. All of the crew was friendly except for one lady who was a bit rude. read more

I was pretty disappointed that the flight kept getting switched around 2x on me. But in the end, the 2nd switch flight times were better than the first, and I couldn't complain. The flight itself was okay. Service going there, I was upset that no water was being served and I had to persist for an hour before I got a glass. We also get a glass of champagne and a glass of wine at dinner free of charge. However, if you're hungry before dinner you're out of luck, especially as coming home you have to wait until they deplaned half the passengers first (see below). You have a choice between a chocolate bar, chips or special k cereal as snacks (for $2) Going there, we got off first in Mexico, while more folks piled on (en route to Toronto), as the other half of the folks stayed on the plane for an hour to go to Cuba. They get off, and another set of people heading home to Toronto get back on. They clearly combined some flights together but I don't know if it was the best use of time and money. I was so hungry by the time all this was happening, and it was 3 hours since we boarded and no drink or food service. I went to the back and begged for some chips which I'll pay for and she discretely did it while the flight was on layover (we had to stay on the plane) The food was meh. Microwave dinners, with some artificial looking carrots salad. Dessert was a nice chocolate candy. The other weird thing was that my small duffel bag full of blankets ended up at the fragile items section, which made me freak out they lost my luggage! read more

Don't fly with them unless you are prepared for a nightmare experience. I recently flew to Europe after being baited by their incredibly cheap prices. On my flight to Paris they lost my bag, and worse yet, they had no agents on arrival to file a missing bags claim. They did look for the bag afterwards as a "courtesy service" but, predictably they found nothing. I don't know if they have staffing issues or what, but I had to eat the cost of the bag all because they had no agents to file a claim. Presumably, this was just bad luck, but then again maybe not. If they lose your bag, they may not have an agent present to help you. The return flight was even worse. The terminal departure was switched at the last minuet and it took me forever to find out where I needed to check in. When I finally arrived at the desk, it was 1:02PM and my flight left at 2:00PM. I thought I had made it in time, but the agent at the desk informed me that check-in time closed at 1:00PM and that I would not be allowed to board my flight. Despite the fact that I was only two minuets late (all because the terminal had been changed last minuet) they refused to let me on board. I missed my flight and was not offered any compensation. I asked if they could book me another flight home, but they literally walked away from the desk as I was pleading with them. It was incredibly heartless and rude. If you fly with them beware. The deals are incredible, but the service is horrific. I spent so much extra money on clothes, travel items and airfare all because of their erratic and carless costumer service. read more

I keep flying with them because they are cheaper than Air Canada, and allow for 1 unpaid checked bag, but they are truly an incompetent airline. I've taken 10 flights with them, not one has left on time. They always leave somewhere between 30 and 90 minutes later than expected. There is ALWAYS a mechanical issue of some kind, or a line up for the gate, or once we literally flew around the Toronto airport for 20 minutes because there was no room on the runway for our plane to land. On my last flight they didn't even have water in the bathroom. I would not recommend planning to have someone pick you up at the airport if you fly Transat, or trying to make a connecting flight. read more

This is the first and hopefully the last time I post a comment expressing the utter disappointment, frustration and anger I feel due to any company. Air Transat has stated they will not take action to compensate for their online system malfunctioning consistently during check-in, resulting in $5000 of extra flight costs and ruining a special family trip. When we arrived at the terminal the Air Transat counter was closed and no employee was in sight. After searching for help we were directed to a Swissport employee who phoned the gate and the gate attendant wanted to know if we had boarding passes. We replied, "No!" we couldn't check in and access the boarding passes because the system was not working, and the counter was closed. He told us that we would not be catching the flight and the flight departed without us. We are left with no option but to share with the public that Air Transat is unwilling to be accountable for their errors and that they do not care about their customers. Please share this post so that future Air Transat flyers may be warned. read more

Turning up the AC and then demanding $10 for a blanket is their business model. Staff ignores your request for a cup of water.

I took this company to go in Paris. I bought a direct flight for Paris, one week before Air Transat changed it for another one with a stop in Montreal, the trip took me 5 hours more. For the return the company had 5h30 late on my flight. I contacted the customer service for a compensation, there is no compensation on my case. They have no respect for their customer. My terrible experience is for the customer service of this company and for the flight experience. I don't recommend them. read more

My husband and I booked a Transat flight from Montreal to Cancun. The flight was supposed to leave at 8AM and arrive at 11:45AM. But the plane apparently had computer problems mid-flight, so we had to returrn to Montreal and deboard. We sat in the airport an additional 2 hours before being loaded onto a second plane. Children were crying during most of the flight, after being in an airport all day. Transat gave us free soft drinks but charged for snacks and sandwiches. We ultimately got to Cancun after 4:30PM. It was pouring rain as we tried to arrange transportation, then we got stuck in local rush hour traffic. We finally got our hotel at 6PM. We lost a whole day of our vacation, with no compensation, due to Transat. It was a truly horrible day. I would not recommend Transat. read more

Excursions: If you are in Mexico, do not book through Joanna, she will oversell packages her company has no ties with. When all hell breaks lose they WILL NOT take responsibility for their vendors when commit assault and abuse. Book through a reputable Company like Expedia. Transat kiosks in resorts: do not book through them, book through the hotel. Joanna will commit fraud by pretending to be part of the hotel but that is not the case. You can book through the hotel or Expedia with a paper trail when things go wrong. Good luck, learn from my experience, and happy travels! read more
