"An Incredible Niagara Falls Tour... Just Don't Miss the Bus"…read more What a tour. Seriously, worth every dollar. From start to finish, this was an extremely professional and well-organized experience. The tour guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and kept everything moving smoothly throughout the day. One of the best parts is how convenient the pickup system is -- they have pickup locations near all the major hotels in Toronto, which makes the whole process incredibly easy for travelers. There are several add-on options for the tour, and I highly recommend three of them: 1. The boat ride into the falls 2. Journey Behind the Falls 3. The helicopter ride The helicopter ride especially is one of those "you only live once" experiences. If it's outside your budget, though, the boat ride and Behind the Falls are still more than enough to make for an amazing full day. One thing I'd personally skip is the tower stop. The views are fine, but honestly the tower in Toronto is much better. Now for the one major warning: the cancellation and rescheduling policy is brutal. Even if your flight is delayed or canceled and you provide proof, you are still out the full amount. No refund, no reschedule, no flexibility. We learned this the hard way after our flight got badly delayed. I contacted them hoping to move our booking to the next day and basically got told, "good luck and goodbye." That said... the story has a happy ending. We ended up sprinting through the airport, grabbing a taxi directly from the terminal to the pickup location, and arrived at 8:03 for an 8:00 AM pickup. I had been communicating with them during the chaos and they agreed to hold the bus for five minutes. We used three of those five minutes like it was the final scene of an action movie... but we made it. In the end, I absolutely recommend this tour. Just book carefully, maybe avoid scheduling it immediately after your arrival flight, or get travel insurance for peace of mind. If you plan ahead, you're going to have an incredible time with a professional, organized tour company at Niagara Falls.

They made everything soooooo smooth. I arrived 10 min prior to arrival and our guide "John" met us there. He was amazing. Everything was so punctual. The minibus was filled with happy people! We did a few stops along the way including a toilet break at a beautiful flower park, a break for maple syrup tasting. John ensured everyone who purchased tickets to behind the falls and the steam boat tour had tickets. And he happily escorted our group to the front of the line. Everything went smooth and John along the way gave us facts about parks and buildings as well as a few fun history facts about Toronto. I highly recommend this tour. He was extremely patient and it's great for ppl of all ages.

It was great to get to know everyone, including Sam! She was laid back but professional the whole time. We got Chinese bakery goods, coffee drinks and more pastries as part of the tour! I also appreciated the chance to grab a few souvenirs at the market and get photos taken by Sam. This was a really good value and the best deal I found for a Toronto food tour. I would definitely do an urban tour again!

I went on the Toronto to Niagara tour on Saturday, 9/2/2017. When registering for the tour online…read morethey give you the additional options of choosing whether you want to visit the Skylon Tower and/or taking the Hornblower Boat Cruise in Niagara Falls. I chose both and it only cost me $94.37 (in US dollars). In Canadian dollars it's $123.72. I made my reservations months ahead of time. After making the reservation, I received an email confirming all the details of trip including where to meet. The tour group met at Dundas Square (Toronto's answer to Times Square) at 8am. I got there half an hour early & waited. Toronto doesn't have as much crime as most large USA cities but you still should be somewhat streetwise at Dundas Square. One homeless guy thought I was waiting on a bus & tried to give me his bus transfer & another asked me if a nearby water fountain was working. But in true Canadian fashion both were polite in comparison to what you see in the States. Around 8am a shuttle bus & a black car showed up. Most people got in the shuttle but I rode the car & we separated. I think it was because the ones in the shuttle must not have chosen to go to the Skylon Tower or the boat cruise. The tour group who rode with me in the car consisted of 4 people total. Besides myself, there was a married couple originally from Peru but now living in San Francisco & our driver/tour guide. I believe his name was Melvin & he is an older, friendly white Canadian who is married to a woman from New Jersey. He's very proud of his country & is quite the historian. I slept half the way to Niagara Falls but I do remember Melvin playing a rousing choral version of the Canadian national anthem in his car along with some music that sounded like Christian pop. He has an offbeat Canadian sense of humor & sometimes you can't tell he's making a joke until he laughs at the end of it. A couple of the funnies I did get was when he joked about the US/Canada border being too big for Trump to build a border wall & knowing I live in Atlanta he ribbed me about how the Falcons lost the Super Bowl. When we got to the town of Niagara Falls, our first stop was at the Skylon Tower. At 520 feet, the tower has an observation deck that gives you a view of both the American & Canadian side of Niagara Falls. If you visit the observation deck it's best to wear a jacket because it's windy & chilly up there. We had our pictures taken before going up and once we got back down they will try to sell them to you with a photoshopped picture of the falls in the background. I bought two large photos placed inside a leather album for a little over $50. They also tried to sell me one where they photoshopped my upper body sticking out of a barrel going over the falls but I didn't buy that one. My favorite part of the tour was the Hornblower Boat Cruise that takes you as close as you'll want to get to the Canadian Niagara Falls. They give you thin plastic ponchos to wear because you're guaranteed to get wet. I stood in the front of the outside of the bottom deck. The ride is calm at first. Then the mist gets stronger until you get as wet as if it you were in a rainstorm. Up close the falls resemble the scene in the Ten Commandments movie when Moses parts the Red Sea. The walls of water will eventually be all you see besides the blue sky. It's an experience you don't want to miss. After the boat tour we stood on the balcony-like spectator area overlooking the falls. Then we went to the town of Niagara on the Lake, Ontario. It's a small, touristy town with a park & an old-fashioned downtown. The Prince of Wales Hotel (where some of the movie "It's A Wonderful Life" was filmed) is here. We ate a lunch at one of the local restaurants (the price of the meal isn't included in your tour payment). My meal consisted of a chicken sandwich and soda for a little over $10. Next we went to a wine tasting (included in our tour at no extra charge). It was here that I had my first taste of alcohol since 2009. The only one who didn't sample any of the world renown Canadian iced wine was our driver/tour guide. We also got to view the vineyard from a short distance. Before going back to Toronto some of the other things we saw: the outside of a reservoir that uses the water from Niagara Falls to generate electricity; a sort of botanical clock made of flowers; a cable car that crosses a gorge near the falls; a place commemorating Laura Secord (a woman who walked 20 miles to let British troops know American solders were nearby during the War of 1812); one of the world's smallest chapels (it looks barely large enough to squeeze in 2 or 3 people); & we even passed by an outdoor wedding in process. We got back to Toronto around 4pm. Melvin dropped the couple off at their hotel & then was kind enough to put me out near the guest house I was staying at. This was one of the most thorough tours I've ever been on. A perfect 5 stars!

Tours 4 Fun offers a VIP package that provides passengers round trip transportation from their hotels, shuttles them around in a comfortable van that seats up to 15 (including the driver) and provides knowledgable and personable tour drivers/guides. I was fortunate to go on a day with cool but sunny weather, large but not too large crowds, a great group of fellow passengers and driver/tour guide Tim Harris. It was a fun, comfortable and ideal experience I would recommend to everyone. From the timely pick ups to the engaging commentary the trip was perfect from start to finish. Of course the falls were fabulous and the trip on the Hornblower is not to be missed. But Tim went out of his way to make sure everyone was having a good time and even offered ideas for additional ways to spend our time while we were in Toronto. We enjoyed driving around, riding the boat, walking a bit and ending the excursion with a wine tasting at Wine Country Vintners in the incredibly picturesque community of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Wine Country Vintners offers samples of flights of wines that can also be purchased at the shop. I tried come Canadian wines that were fun to learn about and terrific to taste. My wife and I signed up for their Niagara Falls tour fully expecting a luxury touring bus as we have enjoyed everywhere else we have traveled in the world. We quickly learned, in disbelief, that VIP Ontario Tours does not adhere to their slogan. Instead of a luxury touring bus, they sent a rickety, retrofitted old school bus with poor shocks, crackly sound system, no heat, overhead lights for reading, WiFi and, especially, even a washroom! This, no less, a bus filled with children and seniors. Their response? "(we) do not guarantee a bus with a washroom or WIFI". Every other tour bus at the Falls was a luxury vehicle except ours. It was so nice that everything was laid out clearly. We knew how much time we had for each activity. Our first stop was to the national park. We were getting intermittent rain alternating with sunshine so it was pretty wet. Also the park is on marshlands so even more wet than normal land! lol. We got dropped off by one of the board walking trails. It's very scenic & beautiful despite the rain. The sun came out at times. So nice to get some fresh air & there were birds, frogs, fish all around. Our next stop was at the Presqu'ile lighthouse, beach & visitor center (all near each other). The beach is small & rocky but it was so nice to be near the water. After the lighthouse we got to wander around the small visitor center. It has two single washrooms, a small history room, & a small gift shop. Next was our lunch stop at the Big Apple. There are around 4 food trucks outside the main building. There's a petting zoo also. Inside the main building there are washrooms, a candy store, baked goods, souvenirs, a burger joint & a bar. I liked the big apple but it would be hard to get there without a car. I liked that we got to pay for our own lunch because that also meant we could get whatever we want. Sometimes the day trips include lunch & has a limited menu especially for people with food intolerances. After lunch we got to go to Old Mill Alpacas. Here we got to feed the alpacas, and walk the alpacas. The owner of the farm also did a quick talk about alpacas. It was very interesting! Because of the rain it was muddy of course so we got dirty but I didn't mind as I was prepared with my waterproof boots. Also short trips informed us of weather conditions in an email before the day trip. After the alpacas we had a 30 mins break for dinner at a highway enroute rest stop. Too bad these enroute places don't have better food options. Anyway short trips has no control over that. Our drop off was on time. Overall we really enjoyed our tour with short trips. We would go on another tour with them for sure. Since we don't drive or have a car this is a really nice way to see parts in Ontario we wouldn't normally be able to see.
