It felt like I traveled into another time and place. The room is extremely clean! Comparable to 5-star big name hotels. There's also a small fireplace in the room, which heats the room up quite well. Room is small but it has everything you need! I LOVE the bed! With the curtains, it's like you have a mini little bedroom. There's also a small TV with VHS/DVD player at the foot of the bed for some late night entertainment. In the morning, Sandra prepared a scrumptious fresh fruit granola yogurt and a decadent waffle topped with whipped cream and powder sugar. Homemade strawberry sauce and local maple syrup were given on the side. Breakfast also included tea or coffee and juice. Sandra was stunningly wonderful! She made us feel welcomed and refreshed with our stay at Maryhill Inn. With the Wag Jag special, it was $69 a night and $128 for 2 nights from Sunday to Thursday. An amazing deal! Breakfast was coffee and fruit plus a hot entree: an eggs option with toast and jams or pancakes/french toast with maple syrup. Very taste and satisfying. Andy and his daughter were hands off for the most part. Very helpful when we needed assistance. On two occasions, they went out of their way to make our entire stay comfortable. The water from the tub fir bath bomb was yellow so needed to re fill tub before dropping the bomb. Review for both meals will be on restaurant. I found out on the evening of being married, that when he went to drop off our bags that morning, they had lost our reservation. When they finally found it (computer glitch they told him), they said they were full. He suggested that couples who had made a reservation only a week ago (and were not due to arrive to the B&B for a few hours) should be bumped and we should get a room because we reserved a full month ago and it was our wedding day. They proverbially shrugged their shoulders.

Friday…read moreafternoon Janet knocked on the door saying our credit card had been declined, I asked if she could wait for my fiancé to get back with our credit card so we could work it out and was rudely told no and to come to her office. I went down and told her that there was nothing I could do until fiancé got back. When he got back she had locked him out so he had to ring the bell to come back in, he gave her our credit card and she rang it through with no problem because she had written down the wrong information in the first place. We were told that normally you aren't allowed to use your own private jacuzzi tub after midnight because it is so loud but that there was no problem for us to use it at any hour because no one else was staying there. On Saturday there was a knock on the door and we opened it up to find cops telling us we needed to leave because there were noise complaints and allegations of smoking in the room. Completely untrue because I have severe asthma. We packed up our stuff and the officers told us that Janet was going to give us a refund. I paid $500 for our stay and got a refund for $100. Janet was unbelievably rude and we were completely discriminated against because my fiancé is black and I'm white. We were completely blindsided because after the credit card issue was fixed she asked us if we were coming down for breakfast in the morning and all was (we thought) so we went to our room and went to bed. We were woken up several times that night to people talking in the hallway but being understanding didn't make a complaint and were woken up by cops. This is disgusting and I have never been treated like this. I will be suing for the rest of what I paid and sharing this review on every site I can. Also place offers cable and you only get the American CNN channel. Very disappointed and nearly ruined our anniversary

We've been to B&Bs in Canada and the US, and the Lalor Estate Inn is simply one of the nicest, classiest, best-priced establishments we've been lucky enough to find. If you want what a big city has to offer, it's not for you---but if you want a great old place in the beautiful countryside, this place couldn't be nicer.

Kevin got back to me immediately and replied to my inquiry and we quickly and efficiently arranged everything. My friend and I arrived a bit earlier than we'd initially indicated, but both Kevin and Kim were welcoming and helpful. We were shown to a reasonable sized room on the second floor and all necessary amenities were explained to us. The decor of the place wasn't really my cup of tea, but the room was clean and cozy, so I can put aside my own personal aesthetic. The private bathroom was a decent size and well laid out. The bed was a wee bit smaller than I'd imagined, but it was very comfortable. My favourite part of my stay though hands down had to be my breakfast! Because Kevin and Kim knew we had an early start, they got breakfast going extra early for us. We started with freshly baked croissants, lemon poppy seed cake, and assorted fresh berries. DEELISH! Then we had poached eggs with hollandaise sauce with heirloom tomato on a wonderfully salty rosti. SO SO GOOD!!! The eggs were cooked to perfection and the splash of pesto on the tomato added a perfect kick. I was in heaven. I love coming to Stratford to see the theatre. Next year, I am totally coming back here, but I am going to make sure that I have dinner at the Old Rectory too!
