Highly recommend this lovely B&B in Stratford that is within walking distance to all the…read moreperformance venues and numerous restaurants. Hosts Kim and Kevin are so welcoming and knowledgeable about all the doings in Stratford. The house is impeccably decorated, with tons of books to read and spaces to sit outside and enjoy the gardens. Refrigerators for personal use. Rooms and beds are comfortable and many have private decks. Tea and cookies always available. The most wonderful thing is that a big thermos of coffee is brought up into hallway in early morning for self serve. How great is that? No getting dressed! Outstanding ample breakfast each day featuring top notch very fresh and innovative breakfast items. A station with granola, fresh breads, croissants, biscuits and homemade jams starts one off. Then a hot item of astonishing quality. Dietary restrictions accommodated. Cannot wait to return next year!

Kevin got back to me immediately and replied to my inquiry and we quickly and efficiently arranged everything. My friend and I arrived a bit earlier than we'd initially indicated, but both Kevin and Kim were welcoming and helpful. We were shown to a reasonable sized room on the second floor and all necessary amenities were explained to us. The decor of the place wasn't really my cup of tea, but the room was clean and cozy, so I can put aside my own personal aesthetic. The private bathroom was a decent size and well laid out. The bed was a wee bit smaller than I'd imagined, but it was very comfortable. My favourite part of my stay though hands down had to be my breakfast! Because Kevin and Kim knew we had an early start, they got breakfast going extra early for us. We started with freshly baked croissants, lemon poppy seed cake, and assorted fresh berries. DEELISH! Then we had poached eggs with hollandaise sauce with heirloom tomato on a wonderfully salty rosti. SO SO GOOD!!! The eggs were cooked to perfection and the splash of pesto on the tomato added a perfect kick. I was in heaven. I love coming to Stratford to see the theatre. Next year, I am totally coming back here, but I am going to make sure that I have dinner at the Old Rectory too!

What a great find…read more Texas Longhorn Ranch is just a few hours outside of Toronto and well worth the visit - whether you're looking for just a night away with someone, or looking for a larger group activity. The TLR used to be a summer camp and has been converted into a very unique Bed and Breakfast. You're greeted by the family that owns the place and their farmhands (everyone was so nice) and shown the grounds. Unlike most B&Bs, you actually have your own cabin (which is a converted covered wagon). Maybe not the best for noise cancellation, but luckily there's no one around for miles. The room was neat, modern, and comfortable. A heater is provided incase it gets cool at night, and if you're lucky enough to get some night time drizzle, you'll fall asleep to the sound of dancing raindrops above you. There is a fire pit with each wagon (which they start for you, city slicker), and each morning you wake to find a fresh pot of coffee outside ready to go. There's also a large field (wouldn't want to mow it) for playing catch or whatever it is people do in large fields. They have quite a nice size pool and lounge chairs which during those hot Ontario summers will come in handy. The meals that were provided were awesome; great value and delicious. Totally homestyle. We had roast beef, fresh and local vegetables, strawberry shortcake, grilled potatoes, salad (it was enough for 6 people...there were 2 of us). It was so good (and $30 per person was the best deal i've seen for a meal of this quality/quantity). The horseback riding was what initially drew me here - and as a novice was happy to find that although am I a not horse-whisperer, the very capable hands of our trail-leader basically was. We had a about a 2 hour enjoyable ride through the woods, visited some neighbouring horses (which started galloping over to meet us....amazing), saw lots of deer, and enjoyed nature. The next morning it was time to leave and I remembered I didn't have that much gas (it's sort of the middle of no-where and probably 20 minutes to the closes gaz bar)...the Texas Longhorn Ranch came out and gave me a good 10L for free. Because they're that nice. I can't wait to go back. Best B&B/ local vacation I've had....and it won't break the bank. 5 out of 5 neighs. NEIGHNEIGHNEIGHNEIGHNEIGH!

Had a very nice time staying here while driving though town. Found by doing a yelp search. Called…read moresame day and booked a room with two queen beds. Staff was super helpful. Set up similar to a B&B but breakfast is continental. Lots of area information in the common spaces. Our room was huge. The two queen beds were separated by a wall, which we worried about for TV watching but ended up being fine. The home is nice, older and maybe in need of some repairs to certain places. Very charming and clean. Our room was lovely. The neighborhood seemed decent (right across from a college). Free off-street parking, free wi-fi. Must be able to get yourself and your bags up to the second floor as there is no elevator. Also, they prefer cash or checks for payment, and payment is taken before you check out. Very comfortable, clean, and nice place. If I'm in Erie again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here. Oh! And it's inexpensive too!!!

Really nice accommodations, air conditioned rooms, and good coffee in the morning. The home has 10 ft ceilings, wide plank floors, period wallpaper, and orig woodwork. I will say that if you are sensitive to noise there is quite a bit of that starting at 7am. The room we had was 2 connecting rooms, so the kids slept in adjoining one. This worked out very well. I wish we could have stayed another night, but it was booked.
