We ordered some apps and main dishes including colossal mozzarella sticks (that naming is an embellishment as they were only slightly larger than standard), buffalo pockets, Pittsburgh salad, broiled haddock and opened fade steak to name a few. The apps were good, but nothing special. The waitress was helpful in making sure my mother was able to the have a gf meal; she had the Pittsburgh salad with honey and mustard brought to use as a dressing. My mom enjoyed it. I had the baked haddock with sweet potato fries. It was cooked nicely and the fries were good; crisp outside, soft inside. Three people ordered the open face steak and they all liked it, though not all the steaks were found to be cooked as ordered; they were overcooked from what was requested. I found the bathroom to need some more attention to detail with cleaning; the chair rail, baseboard, handicapped bars and top of toilet tank were all very dusty.

You won't find a more beautiful old, classy, dressed-to-the-nines B&B off the beaten track and in the beautiful Ontario countryside with reasonable rates, great food, and a host and hostess who couldn't be nicer. We visited for just one night, had our pick of rooms, and were graced with watching a music recital of local musicians (mostly younger kids) held downstairs. We've been to B&Bs in Canada and the US, and the Lalor Estate Inn is simply one of the nicest, classiest, best-priced establishments we've been lucky enough to find. If you want what a big city has to offer, it's not for you---but if you want a great old place in the beautiful countryside, this place couldn't be nicer.

We had the fun attic room with its slopping ceilings. The room and the house is beautifully appointed with lots of lighthouse themed pictures reminiscent of the owners East Coast background. The room was well laid out with lots of easily accessible plugs for recharging out electronics. It was fun to enter the room from a entry room with its own coach. It feels more like a suite than just a room. Two things to keep in mind for this room are the stairs and the saloon doors on the bathroom. The stairs require some mobility and the semi-privacy of the bathroom requires some familiarity and discretion if the room is to be shared. The included breakfast was top notch - tasty and filling it is a great way to start the day.

We called from the road to reserve a room and arrived late in the evening, and they were very accommodating. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well! Breakfast made by Rene was delicious. We ended up staying around for a while the next afternoon to chat with them over tea and cookies. There is wireless internet here, but the signal does not properly reach the bedrooms upstairs - you need to use it downstairs. They are working to fix this. We felt like welcome guests of the family. You will be well taken care of and get a good relaxing rest here.

There are plaques on the front listing the names of those who fought for Canada in various conflicts. It was the center of local politics for several decades, and also various exhibitions, such as the travelling Edison "magic phonograph" demonstration in 1878. I did not have an opportunity to tour the interior today. A beautiful garden in the back complete with gazebo. There is a small parking lot.
