The property also does events like weddings as well. The restaurant is open for lunch, dinner, as well as a Sunday buffet brunch. They also sometimes do special holiday and chef exclusive fixed menus as well. Parking is available onsite as well as valet parking as well. I recently dined at Ancaster Mill for their Sunday buffet brunch. Price wise, the buffet is $77 per person where it is half price for children aged 5-12. You do get a time limit of 2 hours. Reservations are a must if you decide to go dine for brunch as it gets quite busy! During brunch service, our server mentioned to us that the restaurant often sees up to 400 guests come and go to dine at their brunch! The vibes of the restaurant are relaxing and tranquil, reflecting the property it is in. Upon arrival at Ancaster Mill, there are 2 parking lots you are able to park at. Once entering the restaurant, you check in with the host where you are brought to your table. Even with a reservation you may have to wait a few minutes for your table to be ready. Once we sat down, our server explained the brunch to us and mentioned that if we wanted to order any unlimited beverages such as mimosas, sparkling wine, caesars, juices, teas and coffees, we would have to let her know. In terms of the layout of the buffet, seating and the buffet stations are scattered throughout 2-3 different rooms. Food stations included: - Seafood station (freshly shucked oysters, king crab, shrimp, smoked salmon, mussels) - Carvery station (prime rib, short rib, etc., but meats may change depending on the week) - Omelette station - Crepe station (as well as pancakes! There are sweet or savoury options to create your own crepe) - Fresh pastries and baked goods (croissants, muffins, etc.) - Hot brunch food (eggs benefit, sausage, bacon, seasonal grilled vegetables, salmon/rice, potatoes, etc.) - Fried chicken and waffles - Charcuterie and meats (charcuterie meats are often freshly sliced) - Fruits and salad station - Dessert station (ice cream, pecan pie, carrot cake, brownies, apple crumble, bread pudding, etc.) The food for the Sunday buffet brunch was good! I particularly enjoyed the seafood station with the freshly shucked oysters and king crab. There was staff often shucking oysters behind the station to make sure everything was replenished. During my time there, staff also kept making sure food was being cooked and brought out - never saw an empty station! The lines for the omelette an crepe stations were never long as well. Our server often kept checking up on us and our dirty plates were cleared in record time. Overall, a great affordable Sunday brunch with lots of options available. Great place to celebrate a special occasion with family or friends!

The menu selection was limited and as expected higher priced. We inquired about the appetizers and were advised many of them were small and really not portioned for more than 1-2 people. It didn't stop us but just good for you to know. The steak frites were delicious, came with as nice crème and steak was soft and tender. The mushroom melt was a little too greasy with the added butter on the bread then aioli and cheese. The fried chicken sandwich was a hit but beware, it's very sauce and will be a mess to eat. The blueberry salad lack flavour and sounds better than it tastes. Our server and the assistants were courtesy and nice however one of my friends did request for her salad to undressed but it came out fully dressed, we didn't make a fuss but our orders were quite simple and the restaurant wasn't busy, we'd expect a regular order.

Since the below Yelpers have done an awesome job at summarizing the place, I shall continue with only focusing the experience of this particular event. The lounge has a parking lot in the back. If you are driving and the lounge is on your left, keep driving, there's a few businesses with parking lots in the back. It's safe to park there. This spot is a few streets down from Hess Village so around 2am there is a fun amount of drunken folks walking around. There's a few food places open late if you do get hungry. The crowd this night The Casbah was a VERY interesting mix. This is because it's usually friends/family of the band members. So don't come expecting a select type of crowd. Anything goes here. Since I've brought up the subject of interesting and anything goes, what's up with all the one way roads in Hamilton? The main street (Casbah located to your right) is ALL one way, so if you are anything like me (meaning - nil-ch sense of direction) be careful... you will most likely be driving/facing ONTO coming traffic. (true story), Thankfully, the people here are quite nice. They waved to me (after I waved.. thinking *gosh they're so nice here* I realized why. Made an illegal U turn mid street. They guided me and THEN laughed. Just use the "I'm not from these parts sir". Works every time. There's no chairs and the stage is quite tiny. They have about 4-5 bands play before the main band comes on stage. So if you are travelling, don't rush. They do check ID and stamp you. The smokers section is decent. Again, no seats. You will be working out your legs, unless your kind of a weirdo like me and plop right on the corner edge of the stage. I found beer to be a bit pricey here. There's only one bar located right on the far right corner of the venue, as soon as you walk in. I can only assume, this is where they make money. The bathroom is dinky. Small with 4 stalls. 3 of them have broken handles. Guys kinda just waltz in here, drunk or trying to help a girlfriend etc. So, be super careful. Ask a girlfriend to keep watch at your stall door. The best part about this place? - there's only 1 bathroom section in the whole place. Meaning, you WILL bump into band members. It's pretty cool. Caroline Kawa from Die was the coolest chick in the world. She helped me fix my hair and was SO down to earth. Now if I could just get Metric to play here so I could bump into Emily Haines, I'd die a desert happy girl. Even with all the sketch guys who overhear you talking about how hungry you are and respectively INSIST on walking down the street to get you a poutine, gawk at you from tiny dark corners , I still like this place. It's got a bit of a grunge feel to it so you can really dress how you want- venture into GaGa Land for the night? - I THINK SO! If you're into rocking out, you'll end up having a good time. If you're female, you'll have an even funner time trying to hide behind big equipment "helping" the band through the back door. Yes ladies, there IS a back door. No need to fret about creepers. Once you walk into the hall to the bathrooms, it's straight ahead. No alarms so you can push and run out onto a parking lot facing the main street. You can park here so you can get right into your car. They thought of everything. I like that. xoxo M.

The sheer amount of preparation and planning involved is something that even the most Type A of personalities even drive themselves crazy with. We had an absolute pleasure working with Dianna Savelli and the rest of the Scottish Rite Club team for our wedding on October 2016. With my husband living in Toronto and myself in Chicago, Dianna made it easy for us to correspond with one another through email, Skype and phone conversations. It never felt like we were planning an entire wedding from a distance nor did it ever feel like we were taking too much on our plate. The structure of their wedding packages make everything so simple and easy that you simply just have to speak your dreams and it will come to life My husband, our families, our friends and I cannot stop raving about this day. Yes, nearly four months later and we cannot stop thinking about all the perfections that came to fruition and how we couldn't have done it without the help and guidance of Dianna and her staff. While I know Dianna has moved onto other ventures outside the Scottish Rite, the staff here has always been courteous and ready to go above and beyond their call of duty to make sure your day will be just right. Pricing? It is on par with a wedding of this caliber, you will pay money, but you will have the best day, the best food, the best wedding ceremony and reception you could every have imagined. Thank you so much for making our day something we will remember for a lifetime and beyond. We love you guys.

I arrived before the presentation started to find that the staff had closed the kitchen and thrown out the rest of the food. So if you are unfortunate enough to have to go to Scottish Rite, and can't come early, which is likely, because they also lied about there being any sort of available parking anywhere, which will leave you to circle the neighbourhood for half an hour before you can leave your car anywhere, skip going through the front door and just head out to the backyard dumpster to look for the dinner you paid for.
