We recently stayed at the Best Western Plus in Fergus for five nights and were extremely impressed with every aspect of our stay. The room was impeccably clean and well decorated, especially the King sized bed which was very comfortable. We loved the free continental breakfast, which offered not only a variety of cereals, yogurts, fruits and pastries, but a rotating selection of hot items like scrambled eggs, ham and potatoes (they even have a self-serve waffle iron, which was actually quite easy to figure out and made delicious waffles!). The hotel staff was incredibly friendly, accommodating, charming and helpful--during our five-day stay, it's no exaggeration to say that they made us feel like a part of the family. In particular, Jessica, George and Rishabh went out of their way to make our stay pleasant, as well as the silent but incredibly efficient room attendants (whose names we unfortunately did not catch). The entire staff was exceptional.
Our room (with a King size bed, 1 armchair chair and a desk with a computer chair) was $134/night during the week and $169/night over the weekend, included free WiFi (which worked very well and was fast enough to send emails and watch YouTube videos) and a fitness room (which we looked in on but did not use, although it looked very nice). The town of Fergus is pretty small and rural, so I wasn't sure what to expect when we booked the hotel--it was the only big hotel in town so we chose it over a "quaint" B&B. We've stayed in some less-than great places over the years so we were prepared for anything, but we were absolutely delighted with our room at the Best Western, which was spotless and well-maintained throughout our stay. We will recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone we know who plans to stay in this area for any length of time. read more
