Review Highlights - Milton Heights Campground

The campground was quiet, each site has its own fire pit and the office has firewood for sale at a reasonable cost.

The Ranch - Just finished eating, the food was amazing. The flower girl loved the liver and onions.

A small group of us went here for one hour trail riding. Truly enjoyed my time here as it's not…read moresomething we can do everyday. The GPS actually took us to the wrong ranch at first. It's NOT the first ranch on the left on Burnhamthorpe w/ the two GSDs! One more over or till u see the green roof barns. We were greeted by two friendly dogs who led us to the back (how cute is that? seriously?). We paid the fee ($40 cash or $42+HST) & signed a waiver (naturally) and they had a demo on riding. Helmet rental was free (mandatory for children & recommended for adults). However, due to the light rain that day, a few helmets were wet...on the inside. Or is that sweat? hmm.... The trail was definitely scenic and quite spacious. It was truly beautiful! It is probably so amazing here around the fall. They also offer lessons, boarding, hay/sleigh rides. Great for groups and parties. The horses were all quite gentle. Anyhow, we were warned they are like high school kids and have their own little clique. The more dominant horses wouldn't like if others were ahead of them in the trial ride line. So we had to watch out for that. How cute! Just like my dog lol What I liked about the one hour trail ride was... we got to jog at least 3 times (aftermath: a sore bum but it was fun!). I've been to another ranch where they only let you jog once & trails were mostly in a tight forest...but not so much for this one. Lots of fields. A bit of everything... and of course lots of horse sh*t. Massive... lol We were allowed to look at the horses in the stables as well. Some flies in there but that is expected. We had a bit of rain so they went away after a while. There were prob around 20 horses there. They seemed happy & healthy. Lots of different sizes. Love them all esp my horse :D I miss my Lucy! She was prob one of the bigger horses. Not sure why I was paired w/ her as I was nearly doing the splits while climing down (thank god for yoga!). But I LOVE Lucy & happy they put me with her anyway. Can't wait to come back again!

The horses essentially follow each other. You get to hold the reins and play cowboy for about 35 mins. Overall it's a ride on a horse along a path, not much else. If you are scared of horses or just want the experience i'd say try it out but tbh there is sooooo much more you can do with $80 with an hour imo.

We watched as a business venture at one location evolved into 2 locations, multiple seasoned and talented Masters and instructors and with hundreds of kids filtering through their doors each day. Top Level has a fine balance of martial arts training, discipline, self defense, anti-bullying and confidence building. Children of all ages are encouraged to ignite the leader within through guidance, encouragement and perseverance. Children and adults have a plethora of choices between evening classes, access to both locations, after school programs and weekend classes. Top Level Taekwondo does not stop there-they offer specialized classes for weapons training and sparring. Top Level students are provided with the opportunity to train and compete in tournaments and students always represent TLT by bringing home the metals! Top Level Taekwondo has PD day camps, March break camps, summer camps, Ninja nights, movie nights, holiday theme parties, birthday parties and more. This team has thought about everything. Oh! And their TLT gear- t-shirts, sweaters, hats, toques, water bottles and draw string bags. I know we must have the largest selection of TLT gear. Within our children's school, not a day goes by that I don't see someone wearing some TLT gear. Our family is a HUGE advocate for Top Level Taekwondo. It is our home away from home. We trust TLT with our children, their training and their social, emotional and physical growth. Offering free trials, how could you say no! I tried out Top Level because of their free trial offer, and registered both of my children after the first free class (I could have waited until the trial period was over, but I knew this was the right school after the first day) The instructors were professional, and very helpful with the many questions I had, and after having found out they have an after school program, I'll be registering my kids for that as well!
