A small group of us went here for one hour trail riding. Truly enjoyed my time here as it's not something we can do everyday. The GPS actually took us to the wrong ranch at first. It's NOT the first ranch on the left on Burnhamthorpe w/ the two GSDs! One more over or till u see the green roof barns. We were greeted by two friendly dogs who led us to the back (how cute is that? seriously?). We paid the fee ($40 cash or $42+HST) & signed a waiver (naturally) and they had a demo on riding. Helmet rental was free (mandatory for children & recommended for adults). However, due to the light rain that day, a few helmets were wet...on the inside. Or is that sweat? hmm.... The trail was definitely scenic and quite spacious. It was truly beautiful! It is probably so amazing here around the fall. They also offer lessons, boarding, hay/sleigh rides. Great for groups and parties. The horses were all quite gentle. Anyhow, we were warned they are like high school kids and have their own little clique. The more dominant horses wouldn't like if others were ahead of them in the trial ride line. So we had to watch out for that. How cute! Just like my dog lol What I liked about the one hour trail ride was... we got to jog at least 3 times (aftermath: a sore bum but it was fun!). I've been to another ranch where they only let you jog once & trails were mostly in a tight forest...but not so much for this one. Lots of fields. A bit of everything... and of course lots of horse sh*t. Massive... lol We were allowed to look at the horses in the stables as well. Some flies in there but that is expected. We had a bit of rain so they went away after a while. There were prob around 20 horses there. They seemed happy & healthy. Lots of different sizes. Love them all esp my horse :D I miss my Lucy! She was prob one of the bigger horses. Not sure why I was paired w/ her as I was nearly doing the splits while climing down (thank god for yoga!). But I LOVE Lucy & happy they put me with her anyway. For $80+ hst, they teach you how to steer your horse and then you have the horse hike along a path that is mostly tree covered with bushes and grass to the side. The horses essentially follow each other. You get to hold the reins and play cowboy for about 35 mins. Overall it's a ride on a horse along a path, not much else. If you are scared of horses or just want the experience i'd say try it out but tbh there is sooooo much more you can do with $80 with an hour imo. read more

Came here for a guided walking tour with a couple of friends. This was my first time horseback riding so I had no idea what to expect! The tour is first come first serve, so make sure to come at least an hour early before the time slot you'd like to join. A staff member will assign you to a horse and you get a helmet if you'd like one. They also have boots available for those who do not have appropriate shoes. Before going on the walk, you get a short demo on how to guide your horse. But for the more part, all the horses know exactly what they're doing! The horses are really sweet and gentle. The tour was at a trot-pace and it was actually quite relaxing. There is a guide at the front and in the back to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Overall, this was a great experience! read more

If you have ever had riding lessons or know how to actually ride a horse and want to flex some of those skills, this isnt the place for you and you will cringe and you're instructed to kick the horse hard vs squeezing with your heels to get them moving. If you have never been on a horse and are scared, then this is the place for you, want to bring your kids? Even better! Being the former rather than the latter I did find it a little frustrating to be lumped all together with people who didnt know which way was the front of the horse and didnt know how to direct the horse and yes, this isnt my first trail ride. Perhaps group experience levels into groups for a more enjoyable experience for all? Guides are professional, it's a very slick operation, horses know what to do (follow the one in front) and it accepts debit and credit which is pretty unheard of (in my experience) when it comes to trail rides/the horse world. read more

The person that lead the ride is really nice. Always smiling and making jokes. Front desk needs to be more friendly and needs to smile more. Place is nice. Ride is too short. They don't allow you to take pictures while riding so they take pictures of you instead. But they didn't take much photos when I went. Only got 2 and they weren't that great shots. Kinda disappointing because I was hoping to get some nice photos for memories. read more

I have really enjoyed my ride. It was around 1 hour but felt like just 10 min. Unfortunately they won't allow to record during trail as it can be dangerous that while using phone you may loss control over horse. And bit pricey as well. If it is bit cheaper I would love to go back again. read more

Great ranch, very friendly and professional. The horses were fantastic and the guides are passionate. Remember to ask if TROTTING was possible for weather conditions. We went out today and it was muddy so we spent the whole hour just slowly walking and got a little boring. Great for first timers but if you've done trail rides before and you like a little trotting then you may be disappointed. Helmets were great and included in fee. One of the best horse back riding places ever. I visited with my family and had a great experience. The horses are very friendly and nice alongside their owners. The staff is very respectful, we cracked some jokes as we did the trail. It's an amazing experience and I strongly suggest visiting. The sceneries are amazing and beautiful almost to the point where you just forget everything around you and tone out everything. Listening to the nature and the walk of the horses is truly relaxing. This review is way over due. I came here last summer and had a blast with a group of gal pals. We were a bit late but they were able to accommodate us. The horses are all great and the trails are nice, open field, sometimes the roads are slightly bumpy but the horses take care of you. The price to value is great. After the ride, we went inside the barn to see all the horses and were able to feed them hay and take pictures. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because the guide we had was complaining about her job, did not keep track of time, and let one of the horses in our party wander away. Otherwise, we had fun and would love to go back. read more

I dont usually write reviews but... Showed up 20 min early with a group of 8 of us, the shocked look on the staff's face told us something was wrong. We were moved around the ranch for 15 minutes like cattle and then told "sorry you were double booked, we could fit you in next Wednesday?". I am sure you can imagine the difficulty arranging 8 adults all time off together? We declined and went for lunch at Olive & Bonacini instead (yum!). 3 days later I went to make a purchase on my credit card and it was declined, I checked my statement and sure enough there was a charge for $336!!!! I called them right away and they said there is a no refund policy, I escalated to the owner and got nowhere, just stuck to the no refund policy. So what did I pay $336 for? Due to how they have there website setup there is no recourse through credit card protection and judging by other reviewers I will not see that money. I work for min wage, what they took from me was a week's pay GROSS! Don't risk it, lots of places to ride horses far more organized and less shady than these jokers. read more

Went there for mothers day with my husband. We were given a short instruction on how to guide the horse, go, stop, left, right....but not what to do if the horse gets scared and goes back on the back two legs, or starts to run. We were told to not let go of the reigns. Was told I was on the safest horse (daisy) which was directly following behind the guide because i was nervous as this was my second time riding a horse. During the trail ride was told the instructors horse was in training. This horse ended up getting scared for some reason, and flew back to turn around and run, my horse followed this horse causing me to fall off the horse and go flying into the bush and land on my knee. I probably wouldn't have flew off the horse if we were given instruction on what to do in this type of incident. I was holding on to the reigns and not letting go like they told us, this gave me a serious burn on my hand, my skin peeled off from the friction and i have three bruised fingers. After we arrived back they said i should have let go of the reigns and grabbed the horn on the saddle. They didn't offer us any refund or partial refund for such a crappy trail ride, due to weather and my accident it wasn't a full hour either. they took an incident report, and gave me some ice and said have a nice day. My friends and I wanted to go to The Ranch, to celebrate one of our birthdays. We went on a Monday, 7PM trail ride, and ended up being the only ones there! It was perfect. The scenery is beautiful, and the trail goes through meadows and a forest. We even got to see a deer while riding along the trail. The girl leading our trail ride, Liz, was awesome! I felt like we were all friends hanging out. She knew how to talk to and treat the horses, while encouraging us and educating us along the way. The entire experience was amazing, and I know I'll be going back to The Ranch soon. read more

I can easily give this place 5 stars out of 5, 10/10, this is my go-to place to go for lessons, trail rides and birthday parties. The staff are incredibly kind- and funny! -and you can tell they seriously care about their horses, and are skilled at taking care of their charges, both two legged and four. They make sure newcomers are welcome and new riders feel easy in the saddle. Their horses aren't perfect, but none never is. But, they are safe and you have fun during your lesson with them and you do form a real bond with your lesson horse. Boarding here is excellent as well with lovely facilities and a welcoming community. I highly recommend this stable for casual and even serious professional riding. read more

5 stars, took my brother here for his christmas present because he has been obsessed with horses since he did a camp in the summer. even with the cold and snowy weather the trails were absolutely beautiful and the tour guide was amazing, interactive & really helpful when it came to the horses & getting on & tips to not be nervous. the ONLY thing i would say i don't agree with is the 5$ per person for the photos. it's not like we're allowed to take photos ourselves on the ride so the guide is the only person who can. and we still wanted photos of the experience. i think a flat fee of 5$/group would have been better. but still amazing, the horses, the people, just everything read more

Ooh my god! I have NO words. I have come to this Ranch today to celebrate my friend's birthday. I was VERY terrified at first. I am an 11 year old girl who is the BIGGEST scary cat in the world probably. Once I got on Daisy (a big horse) I was about to burst into tears because of how scared I was as it was my FIRST time on a horse! The workers were VERY nice and pleasing. They helped me calm down and not be scared. During the ride I was in the very front with one of the guiders, Jordan! She checked up on me every 5 minutes to make sure I was doing okay. I felt VERY safe and I sure was happy. In total, the ride was AMAZING and the guiders were the best of the best. Daisy, (the horse I was riding) was very good and she/he listened to me every time. It didn't bite or try to eat any grass unlike some of the other ones. As we were riding, the view was stunning with all the nature that has surrounded us. This turned out the BEST experience I probably ever had and I sure do RECOMMEND this place. read more
