    Mac, the magnificent horse

Had a great time bringing my family to The Ranch for a guided walking tour for the very first time. The weather was lovely and we even got to trot with the horses! The staff are all friendly and helpful. The horses are magnificent and clearly love having their photos taken. Would recommend visiting if you've never been!

A small group of us went here for one hour trail riding. Truly enjoyed my time here as it's not something we can do everyday. The GPS actually took us to the wrong ranch at first. It's NOT the first ranch on the left on Burnhamthorpe w/ the two GSDs! One more over or till u see the green roof barns. We were greeted by two friendly dogs who led us to the back (how cute is that? seriously?). We paid the fee ($40 cash or $42+HST) & signed a waiver (naturally) and they had a demo on riding. Helmet rental was free (mandatory for children & recommended for adults). However, due to the light rain that day, a few helmets were wet...on the inside. Or is that sweat? hmm.... The trail was definitely scenic and quite spacious. It was truly beautiful! It is probably so amazing here around the fall. They also offer lessons, boarding, hay/sleigh rides. Great for groups and parties. The horses were all quite gentle. Anyhow, we were warned they are like high school kids and have their own little clique. The more dominant horses wouldn't like if others were ahead of them in the trial ride line. So we had to watch out for that. How cute! Just like my dog lol What I liked about the one hour trail ride was... we got to jog at least 3 times (aftermath: a sore bum but it was fun!). I've been to another ranch where they only let you jog once & trails were mostly in a tight forest...but not so much for this one. Lots of fields. A bit of everything... and of course lots of horse sh*t. Massive... lol We were allowed to look at the horses in the stables as well. Some flies in there but that is expected. We had a bit of rain so they went away after a while. There were prob around 20 horses there. They seemed happy & healthy. Lots of different sizes. Love them all esp my horse :D I miss my Lucy! She was prob one of the bigger horses. Not sure why I was paired w/ her as I was nearly doing the splits while climing down (thank god for yoga!). But I LOVE Lucy & happy they put me with her anyway. Can't wait to come back again!

    Starting point

I have really enjoyed my ride. It was around 1 hour but felt like just 10 min. Unfortunately they won't allow to record during trail as it can be dangerous that while using phone you may loss control over horse. And bit pricey as well. If it is bit cheaper I would love to go back again.

Love your ranch. Great place for riding. The staff is friendly, very helpful and make the adventure quite enjoyable. And the horses are equally friendly :) Glad to hear that you offer the lessons and the test after which I'd be able to ride the trails on my own. I can't wait to go back.

Friendly staff, comfortable and scenic ride, and close to those living in Oakville, Burlington and Milton.

Look, the lessons are great and the facility is hard to beat. BUT the registration process (every…read moredamn term) is such a pain. I've been trying to register for the Winter 2026 session and I've been trying to get in for an hour now. First the site was down, now it only shows a handful of classes. I took time out of my day (as I always have to) to get this done and it's not working. I tried calling the gym, but the lines are "busy" - when does that ever happen anymore?! For all the money they collect from registration, they should update their website and registration process and maybe they won't have so many pissed off parents. Will they respond to me, probably not.

As said in one of the other post that had a low review. I took my kid to the open gym and one of…read morethe older coaches who wasn't very pleasant to start with (not personable, rude) you can tell that she doesn't want to be there. My child had run over to the trampoline and as I'm making my way she yells "you HAVE to watch your kid. Which was exactly what I was doing. And that was fine because I thought maybe she didn't see me heading over to the trampoline etc (trying to understand her point of view). But it's when she walked away and decided to talk about me to the other coach about how parents don't watch their kids etc which got me. I already had a bad impression of her when I got there but after that it really got me upset. I left my kid with my husband for the rest of the class. I just didn't feel welcomed. I really want to request a refund for the next 9 classes we signed up for. My husband said after that the same coach was telling other people off too. It's ok to make people aware but there's a way to do it without belittling them.. Other than that lady, the receptionist is pretty awesome.
