This is a gorgeous park with a breathtaking view of Lake Ontario and Burlington from top of the cliff. The trails are not hard and you can enjoy beautiful views both at the lookout points and of the forest. You also can spot turkey vultures from Buffalo Crag look-out point. It offers different campsites and the most famous trail is the Nassagaweya Canyon trail to Crawford Lake which takes up to 5 hours for a roundtrip. It has 2 parking lots on the upper side and lower side of the park. You need to make a reservation during COVID-19 pandemic (especially for weekends) since they have reduced the capacity. read more

I visited Rattlesnake Point with my family, and all I can say is WOW. The trees, the lookout points, the pictures we took -- all amazing. We went there to look at the autumn colours and it was so beautiful. We walked the Buffalo Crag trail, which was a 3KM trail, and the Vista Adventure trail, which was a 1.5KM trail. Both were very peaceful. We'll be going again! read more

A must for those fall colours seekers! Absolutely beautiful views and stunning lookout points. Whilst the drive there is a little haphazard, it's definitely worth it for the great trails in this park. I went with my family and across us there was a range of different ages, however we were all able to complete the trail with little to no difficulty. There are picnic areas and washrooms so a perfect area to spend a few hours or more! read more

At first, I was bothered for having to pay $7 per person to visit rattlesnake point.. but I realized that it pays for staff wages, maintenance around the trails and parking, etc etc. To keep a part of our environment clean for $7 isn't bad, especially since I come once a year lol. The views were gorgeous & it was easy to get too (I'd be scared to know how people get here in the winter if it's icy!). I definitely will come back, especially in the fall! read more

Based on overall experience Rattle Snake Point is a nice little casual hike that is suitable for family and beginners. Not a long hiking area but does provide a lovely view. Best time in my opinion would be during mid autumn to see the colorful trees with the different colors of leaves. They have a few spots where beautiful pictures can be taken of the whole forest area around it. Would recommend if you just want a simple and calm walk. It does get busy though during peak seasons. read more

Only top rope place I know in the area. Hiking is boring tho. Access: 3/5 $6 entrance fee. Busyness: 4/5 not busy the further you go. Trail: 3/5 Long and boring. Top rope routes: TBD (Looking for a guide) Quality: 4/5 trails well groomed. Entrance is calculated by person and not car. It was $6 the last time I was there. A little steep for me unless you are looking to top rope. If you are thinking about coming here for some hiking and to view some Vista points, you should look elsewhere. This is a fairly simple trail with no real look outs unless you like looking out to Christmas tree farms. All the looks outs are on the same side and the view isn't compatible to the views in Hamilton. If you are looking to hike long distance than this may be what you are looking for. This is not a busy place and the further in you go, the less people you will run into. As a climber I am interested to come back to try the top rope. Rattle snake pint is a great reason to get outdoor and recharge. We chose the orange trail which is about 13km's - it goes from the lower parking lot to Crawford lake and back. It's not too difficult/technical, but enough to work up a sweat! Great place to enjoy nature and the outdoors. read more

It's a 40-minute commute to get here from the city above Toronto and it's definitely worth the trek down to experience this park. Absolutely beautiful coming here during the Fall and it's worth the admission price of $6.75/person to walk through these trails. All of the trails are maintained very well and you'll have clear pathways. The first trail which is the Buffalo Crag trail is approximately 3km and its a breeze to walk through. This is the most popular trail at Rattlesnake's Point and it'll be the most crowded trail you'll experience. No real bumps or uphills so it's smooth sailing to start off! The second trail would be the Nassagaweya Canyon trail which is approximately 10km there and back; it's not a loop. This one will have your heart beat racing and the estimated time to finish this trail was 4-5 hours. Make sure you don't go off course or you'll somehow find your way onto Walker's Line (700 km) and you don't want that! Tips: 1. Bring tons of water 2. Proper shoes & attire (some people walked in dresses and platforms) (c'mon now) 3. Make sure to pick up a map or smartphone GPS 4. Bring your dog, they'll love it 5. Enjoy read more

This place has several great spots for a picnic and pits for fires and great lawns to kick around a ball and it's very family oriented, but what I am really there for is the great rock-climbing routes. (on the south side of the park at the and of a trail leading to a large steel staircase which brings you to the faces. Beautiful sunny routes set up for top-roping and lead climbing, with a great variety of difficulty levels. Highly recommended. read more

Rip off alert. $7 per person just to get in to for a walk. Camping here is $50 a night for up to 5 people and $115 a night for groups 5 or more but hey I guess the Conservation authority has to pay all those executives and board members some way. You also cannot bring in your own wood for your campfire and must buy the wood from them. $12 for a skimpy bag that will burn away in an hour. Also don't even think about quietly enjoying a glass of wine here with dinner by the fire. They will kick you out and call the police. Park staff constantly eyeballs you while in the campsites looking for violations. Dont even think about taking a stroll at night as you cannot leave your campsite after sunset. Over regulated to say the least and it felt like camping in a parking lot. The vistas from the escarpment are very nice but the trails were quite busy and it was difficult to get into nature or find solitude here. An awesome place if you are into rock climbing though. read more

As a single hiker who has travelled to various natural wonders in the USA (33 states so far), this place is low on the list. In WA state we have a place called Rattlesnake Ridge. Beginning hikers flock there to take Instagram pictures. It's free. For some reason these three trails cost money AND are far easier. No elevation. $7 CAD entry? Camping is off the roof here. It's geared towards someone who is just getting into nature. The views aren't breathtaking. It's worth it if: 1. It's a sunny day. 2. You have kids and want to picnic (camping costs way too much here for the single traveler). 3. You rock climb (lots of cool places to do that). 4. You want super easy hikes with decent views. read more

One of our best camping experiences by far has been at Rattlesnake point. It's $50 per night and considering that you get a large campsite a nice size firepit, at least 2 picnic tables, hot showers at the comfort station and a separate area from the day visitors, I'd say it's a pretty good deal. You'll have to buy firewood from the park to ensure that you're not brining in any unwanted pests, last year it was $8 a bag, this year, it's $9. Each of the campsites are a fair bit away from the others, so if you go during the summer and the trees and the brush have grown in you'll get plenty of privacy. Park staff do regular checks throughout the day and night by driving by in their marked cars- mostly just to make sure that no unauthorized or non-permited people are visiting or spending the night. There a list of rules, including no-alcohol, but in the 6 times we've camped there so far, none of the staff have checked our vehicles or entered our campsite to check. Also, quiet hours are from 11pm-8am, and pets must be on a 2meter leash at all times. Which is not unreasonable if you think of the campers next door trying to enjoy the wide-open space as much as you. When you check in, you'll be given a brochure, list of camp rules with contact details should there be an emergency, and a key so you can exit and enter the camp after hours. There are at least 3 well kept and well-visited trails that give you great views, and if you're looking for that quiet place, then take one of the longer trails or go during off-peak times (evenings and weekends). I sort of get lost in the forest greens now. It's such a blissful place to get away from the hustle and bustle! I planned my hike around attending the free outdoor yoga they offer on Thursdays nights from Moksha Yoga. It is free to attend with park admission of $6.75 There are two parking lots there. The upper level has an rest house while the lower one has a stinky conservation. The smell was so bad that I couldn't bare to use the washroom again from the lower level. You would think they would put some windows to air out that beast. The lookout point is breathtaking. I didn't complete any of the trails. Sidenote - this place is a little more difficult than the other ones I've been to. The paths have more rocks and I almost slipped and DIED. Be careful out there! A great conservation area if you're looking for a nice outdoor afternoon get-away to do some walking amongst mother nature. The place hasn't changed in all the years I've been coming here, but in this case that's a good thing as it means that things are being conserved effectively, right? Upon arrival, there are various areas you can park in with a few gazebos and bathrooms in the area, and then paths leading you to hit the hiking trails. I like this place because there are various paths, ranging from 1km to 7km long. Along the way you'll find lots of forested greenery, some fun caves and crevasses that you can work in and out of, and a few really great places with limestone cliffs that provide spectacular views of the surrounding areas. I love packing a lunch, hiking til we find a great view, and having a bit of a picnic while overlooking all the forest and farm land below and watching the turkey vultures fly above it all. Very serene, very calming, very enjoyable. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I went in early November and the place was muddy and cold and stunk of shit everywhere. The cliffs we're a safety hazard and not well guarded at all with no railings. I have small kids and went and came home muddy with bruises and it was just a horrible experience. Won't be wasting my time here again. read more

To enter Rattlesnake Point, it is $6.75 per person, but that allows you to go to other Halton Region destinations like Kelso, Hilton Falls and Mount Nemo. It does not let you into nearby Lake Crawford, but you can hike from Rattlesnake to get there and enjoy that area for free. Ratllesnake has high picturesque views of the area below, challenging up and down hills, and craggy rocks. There is a lot of rock climbing going on as well, but we did not participate in that. That are a lot of native looking wooden statues near the end of the trail to Crawford Lake and they are definitely worth checking out. I am rating this a 4.6, so rounding up to 5.0. My future-life-partner-until-the-end-of-time liked this one more than Mount Nemo, but I do not think it has anything that Mount Nemo does not besides being longer. Note: This is not really a hike for beginners. read more

This is one of my favourite hikes I've been on in Milton. It has beautiful views from the top and also has lots of cool caves, some of which you can climb in. Its especially beautiful in the fall when all the trees turn red, orange and yellow. Can't wait to go again! read more
