It was surprisingly busy on a late weekday morning. The paths/trails are wide enough so even if you see another person it's easy to stay on the edges of the path and stay a safe distance apart. It's very shaded for the most part so not to worry about getting sunburnt. We didn't stay for too long but there's a lot of trails to discover. I'd love to go back to spend more time wandering around. Just a note that there are some hills so be prepared for them.

Simply in love with this place. Did not expect such big space so close in Mississauga. Some trails can be crowded but still manageable to maintain social distancing. The garden, chappel are beautiful. There are 3 parking spaces. One is on the left side when we enter from Burnhamthrope and is connected to the culham trail and credit river trail. This also connects Erindale park.

One of my favourite parks in Mississauga, there are so much to see and do here. Lots of flowers on display so come during various times of the year to see many in bloom. There is also a wetland as well, and a few historic buildings. There is an art gallery as well. The trails lead you to the Credit River, but beware the crowds might be bad between 10am to 3pm.

"It's a hidden gem." "A hidden gem in the heart of Mississauga." "It's a true hidden gem." You can only hear that phrase said so many times before it stops being a hidden gem. If anything, Riverwood is probably one of the most known parks in Mississauga. After all, any place that brings in over 10,000 people to take part in programs and workshops each year is bound to get noticed sooner or later. Every time I think of this place, I liken it to New York's Central Park. It is not the biggest park in the city by any means (fairly sure the nearby Erindale Park dwarfs this), but it's the only real place that combines form and functionality. Besides the park itself, Riverwood plays host ot a handful of historic properties like Chappell House (exhibits) and Visual Arts Mississauga (art shows, workshops et al). The place has multiple trails running throughout it, and sits in a nexus with the aforementioned Erindale Park and UTM to the south. There's a whole lot of history to this place, and I respect the hell out of the board members and community advocates who fought to keep this place from being turned into a parking lot by GO, which built that ugly monstrosity of a parking garage a couple blocks away. Thank God they didn't get their way. You can tell the passion and respect these volunteers have for the site, which was reaffirmed at the Canada 150 Infrastructure launch event I attended. The executive director, Douglas Markoff, and board director Kevin Sherwin both spoke about the value of the property to the city, alongside several city councillors. This is a very peaceful place, and I'd contend that there are few finer places to go for a nature walk in the city. I've had the fortune to visit here in the past at sundown, and walking along the Culham Trail and taking in the greenery is very relaxing. It's a little oasis in the middle of a city that seems to be intensifying in all directions. It was good to know that infrastructure funding is helping the site. They also celebrated the opening of a new structure, "Pine Sanctuary", which sits right near the corner of Riverwood Park Lane and Burnhamthorpe Road. It's intended to be a visible landmark and a draw for people to visit the facility, and it's a beautiful sculpture that is made up of over 30,000 individual pieces. It's well worth a visit to Riverwood. A fine park and a jewel in the city.

An educational area for school trips. The pathways lead into Erindale Park in Mississauga. Great for walking for all ages. Watch out for Coyotes.

A wonderful trail to stroll in nature. It takes you through the wooded areas along the Credit River, giving you great spots to get amazing photos, benches if you need to rest and access to the river if you want to bring your fishing gear. The trail is wide enough that bicycles have no problem getting around hikers. Just watch out for those hills.

We are so lucky to live next to this great conservation park. When we moved to Mississauga I called it are secret gem by now a lot of people know about it. Great gardens so many flowers. And ponds. There's a art center . Also a big barn used for school trips. There's a few paths to take down the the river and that's a dream come true if you love nature Great trails next to the river miles and miles of walking by the credit river. Wild life can be seen . Wood peckers , hawk, vaulters., Deer and much more. If you like fishing this place e is for you . Salmon, trout can be found here. This is a great place to read a book or walk or even a family picnic.

I love this park the grass is always cut and clean. There's always a few twigs on the grass for me to chew. So many trails for me to walk throw. The top part of this park is so nice but I just LOVE going down to the river in a hot day I even take a dip. And after all the running and swimming I just relax under a tree next to the river chewing a branch.

I agree with Stephanie S here. This is definitely a hidden gem. I had no idea this place existed and when I saw the big blue Mississauga sign at the entrance, I just assumed it was some type of recreation centre. Guess I was wrong. This is a beautiful nature park with different types of trees and is quite scenic. Great place to go for a walk or jog (on the grass, since the roads extend all the way). Will visit again.

I can't believe that this place wasn't listed before. Hidden gem in the heart of Mississauga! I sorta discovered this place by accident when I couldn't find any parking at Erindale Park on the weekend. This park/art gallery/hiking/mountain biking trails, etc. is literally just north of Erindale Park, north of Burnhamthorpe Rd. Apparently, the entire property was a private residence that was donated when the owner died. This info is probably on their website which I have not read. Since I haven't read the website, there is a bit of mystery as to what exactly goes on in the buildings located on the property. However, I have heard that they host art classes (paid) in one, and there is an art gallery in the main building. Even as a lifelong Mississauga resident, I have never been inside any of the buildings. Btw, I am really curious as to whether or not they hold weddings (or other special events) here?? Could be quite profitable for maintaining the property!

One of our best parks, my favourite at least. People come to walk, hike, bike, fish and hand feed the chickadees. As a resident of Mississauga, we are truly blessed to have such a beautiful place to go to in the heart of the City. Long time residence don't know that it exists.

    This park is truly amazing.

Review Highlights - The Riverwood Conservancy

My favourite thing about it though is that it provides access to the Culham trail, which follows the Credit River.

Erindale Park is located near Dundas and Missisauga road. It hugs the University of Toronto's Missisauga Campus (formerly Erindale Campus) and is a stone's throw away from the Mississauga golf and country club. The park is bifurcated by the Credit River which lends to the spectacular natural beauty of this place. You almost forget you're in a city populated almost entirely by customized Honda Civics and urban sprawl. I think it's a great place for a jog, a picnic, or "a wander" with a digital SLR. There are also built in BBQs for your convenience. And of course, because it's in Mississauga, there is a massive parking lot greeting you as you enter. Hurray! Obligatory Title Pun: Take a walk in the PARK! Menu Readability: Ain't no menus up in here. Need to mention: I wanted the FTR for this place but Myrem D beat me to it. To make it worse, her review is excellent. What this place teaches me about myself: Just playing, I love you Mississauga.
