Great ark, one of my all time favorites. Been here for many gatherings and just spontaneous walks. Love it each time we come. Lots of friendly squirrels. Always ducks in the pond and turtles in the summer! In the spring, it's not as colorful yet, but gets much better. Sadly, there's bridge construction happening at the park as I'm writing this (until May 2023) but it was necessary as the bridge was in terrible condition beforehand.

While the park is so nice, but it turned to be a little of New Delhi like everything in Mississauga

This is a nice little park giving us the much needed green space in Downtown Mississauga. It was named after its sister city (Kariya, Aichi, Japan) and hence the Japanese-style garden and architecture. There are lots of ducks chilling in the pond which was mesmerizing to watch. The overall serenity of the park makes you forget the urban life. The only thing is that it is quite popular and the park is small. In cherry blossom times, I can see it being too crowded. Downtown Mississauga needs more spaces like this. Hope they could expand the park instead of building more condos.

April 23, 2023 -Love this cute little park! Never knew Mississauga had a nice park across from Square One Mall.

Nice touch for Mississauga. Next to the mall. If u don't live in Mississauga, maybe u r from America or BC.... Mississauga is a suburb with little to nothing to see (maybe port credit, square one.... Hmmm what else!?) if Mississauga is mediocre, u should see Brampton!? Horrific place, 16 years too many I spent there.. This park is attractive and reminds me of a similar one (but much better one In Vancouver). We went during the dark and rain, so not deal. But empty, so also ideal..... Yin Yang

This is a beautiful park just a few hundred metres south of Square One Shopping Centre. You might even get into such a relaxing state to forget that this gem is found inside a busy city. The design reminded me of a similar inner city park I visited in Tokyo in Dec-2019. Wow! Street parking is available for $1 per hour with a two hour maximum which should be enough time to recharge your soul!

A beautiful Japanese inspired escape in the urban centre of Mississauga. A very popular park, not too far from Square one and perfect for walks and picnics.

This is a nice, small park. It was my first park I had been to in Canada. I did see my first black squirrel along my walk. I enjoyed the scenery the park had to offer. If I ever return to Canada, I will try to return to Kariya Park.

What amazes me is that people don't know this park exists in the heart of Mississauga. Simply put, this is what the term "hidden gem" was made for. There are few finer spots in the city than Kariya Park, which is just a hop, skip and a jump from Square One. Enter the grounds, and you'll be amazed to find blooming sakura trees, wildlife, winding paths and plenty of calm and serenity in the heart of the city. My knowledge of this property goes way back to high school, when my Grade 12 Japanese teacher organized a trip to the site, and it finally dawned on me that there was a lot more to the city that I didn't know about it. Since then, I've tried to make periodic trips to visit the site, whether with friends or to attend different events. Every year, Mississauga's Mayor, Bonnie Crombie, organizes a media tour when the sakura trees are blooming, and this was a great opportunity for me to check out the site. Visiting on a calm Thursday morning, I was very impressed by the maintenance of the grounds. While there were visitors coming and going, you can definitely get an air of calm and peace when you step inside the front entrance. In a way, the barriers keep out the hustle and bustle of the city, and it's easy to meditate or take a quiet walk. This park has a few nifty sights, including a zen garden, ceremonial traditional gong and some murals that outline the history of the park. For those who are not aware, the park is a representation of the partnership between Mississauga and its "sister city", Kariya, Japan, a connection that stretches way back to the 70's when former Mayor Hazel McCallion established relations with the city. In full bloom, the sakura trees are incredible to see, and we were incredibly fortunate on this day to have a cosplayer who showed up for a photoshoot. You can bet that I seized the opportunity to have an impromptu photo op with the cosplayer and the Mayor walking along the path. If you ever visit Mississauga, make Kariya Park one of your key destinations. The nature and setup of this park is second to none in the city, and there are few finer places to walk and meditate. (P.S. To the grounds crew that maintains the site, yes, I did play a game of hide-and-seek with my friends at midnight two years back. We regret nothing.)

Is a very small park where you can relax and feel calm. Is beautiful and I love how I feel when I'm here, it gives me peace of mind.

Kariya Park is definitely a hidden gem in the heart of Mississauga. Its a gated little park with a pond, multiple benches and little paths. When I say little, i mean tiny. I find the best time to visit the park is during the week when its not as congested as the weekend. In may the most beautiful cherry blossoms bloom and its quite the scene. The only downside is the parking. There is very minimal parking on the side of the road. I personally recommend parking at square one and crossing the street.

Beautiful Japanese park next to the Mississauga downtown area. Definitely a place visit to walk around and enjoy with family. Great place to take pictures as well.

Beautiful little park right near square one. Found free roadside parking down from the park on a Sunday! Maybe we got lucky! They have a few beautiful cherry blossoms out front which EVERYONE were taking photos at; we all had the same idea not to go to high park during blooming season haha. Nevertheless it was a gorgeous day. The sun was out, and everyone just enjoying the beauty of the park and having fun! There was a wedding waiting to start in there too! Small park but kept beautiful

Erindale Park is located near Dundas and Missisauga road. It hugs the University of Toronto's Missisauga Campus (formerly Erindale Campus) and is a stone's throw away from the Mississauga golf and country club. The park is bifurcated by the Credit River which lends to the spectacular natural beauty of this place. You almost forget you're in a city populated almost entirely by customized Honda Civics and urban sprawl. I think it's a great place for a jog, a picnic, or "a wander" with a digital SLR. There are also built in BBQs for your convenience. And of course, because it's in Mississauga, there is a massive parking lot greeting you as you enter. Hurray!
