Large fresh side salad with Balsamic dressing that accompanied the Roast Chicken dinner.
Robin B.

I feel like I have to give this 5 stars based on it was quite the meal after all the other places were closed. The menu is so ambitious and usually that doesn't work out. Maybe I got lucky but the dish I chose was ambitious and they hit it quite well. I ordered the Half Roast Chicken dinner. It came with a salad that was fresh and quite tasty with a balsamic dressing. The meal itself was quite amazing. The Chicken was delicious, it was accompanied by a delicious home made type stuffing, roasted potatoes, and veggies which in this case was some delicious Corn on the Cob as well as some Carrots. It really was a plate of comfort and hit the spot! Service was friendly and attentive. But the best part was a Chocolate Egg Cream drink! I ordered it after the meal as a sort of dessert. It was so tasty! I am not from this region and have never had one before and now I wonder how I made it this far in life without one! If I am ever back in Danbury I would definitely try this place again.

Chicken pot pie which was also awesome!

This place is amazing. The owner is a fantastic person who knows a lot about life I suggested reducing yourself and being a gentleman. I love the eggs Benedict at this restaurant. No matter what time of day that you order from them the food is fresh and delicious. God loves Elmer's Diner and so do I. Amen

And for my 300th Yelp review....Elmer's. First of all, high props to Elmer's for 24/7 in this day and age, where eateries are reducing days and / or hours. Let's start w parking. Very small lot entered off of a very busy street by going down and around. Entrance and exit in the same spot. Very tight turn radius once you're in the lot, which is full during busy times. Difficult to turn around, and suicidal to back out. So you end w partial to total gridlock waiting for a spot to open. Extremely dangerous and a bit frustrating. Anyway, inside w my nephew-in-law. Seated in a booth quickly, menu proffered, drink orders taken. Somewhat crowded, but service very good. I had the Elmer's omelet (3 eggs, mozz, smoked turkey sausage, some veggies), w hash brown and toast. Artie had the Elmer burger w fries. My omelet was overcooked, the hash browns were a deep-fried greasy patty (like McDonald's). Coffee was excellent. Artie liked his burger which came in a tortilla w salsa. He didn't really touch his fries which looked like they had sat under a heat lamp for awhile. Overall, a bit unimpressive for me. 3 stars

hair on my plate

this is absurd, I was expecting a beautiful breakfast with my wife. we order pancakes and a burger, the burger was undercooked and the fries were soggy, the pancakes were very cold and bland, come to find out that there was a hair. I will never come back to this establishment.

A Solid diner in the Danbury area with friendly service, large menu, that serves food quickly and it was all good. We stopped in for dinner when in the area and everyone enjoyed their food! My husband especially enjoyed the complimentary pasta salad they gave at the start of our meal. One of my children was excited to see curly fries on the menu and had to get them. I was told the chicken tenders were great as was our Mediterranean wrap and tuna club sandwich. Their Cole slaw which I did not get a picture of was also very fresh and great. Definitely recommend this diner if you are in the area!

Was in the area for an appointment and needed breakfast! Such a cute little diner. Very clean and the staff was great! I created my own platter. I think the diner should add it to the menu and call it "Missys breakfast feast" . I had scrambled eggs, Canadian bacon, home fries with cheese and gravy, rye toast, and avocado. I paid about 17$ for it, and when I tell you it was worth it... it was so worth it. Everything was delicious! My favorite part was the home fries! My server was great. If I'm ever back in the area, I will definitely return!

Their Nutella French toast is my favorite item on the menu. The employees are nice and have a great setting.

My typical diner breakfast is two eggs with corned beef hash, and the New Holiday Diner did not disappoint me. The hash is freshly made, not the store bought can of hash. The meal was accompanied by delicious shredded potatoes hash browns and sourdough toast. As if the food and ambiance wasn't enough, our waitress, Pina, was very capable and had a great sense of humor. It's for these reasons that I give this diner a 5-star rating!!

The restaurant itself is spacious and decorated nicely. They have ample bar seating, booths, and tables with a cool retro vibe. Our waitress was attentive and so sweet. She gave diner waitress vibes in the best way possible. For breakfast I ordered the hash and eggs and it also came with toast and hashbrowns. Everything was pretty good. I thought the hash was well done with plenty of potato and meat. My eggs were cooked perfectly and the toast was nice and crispy. I did find the hashbrowns to be a bit soggy and bland but who doesn't love a potato regardless? The bill came out to be around $85 for four meals and beverages which wasn't too bad for breakfast.

Normally they are so attentive to allergies. Lately I've walked out twice and had an allergic reaction bc they didn't know the difference between vegan/gf and just gf. Second, we've noticed the mugs for the chai lattes became smaller from one week to the other. Then we noticed orange juice cups over time went from one size to a smaller size, then another size, and now last week something completely small. However the prices always remain the same. I undetstand everything has gone up in price but from one week to another sizes should not be changing consistently. Your waiting more money on constantly buying to replace new dishware then if it were to stay and serve the same probably. I'm disappointed to see such a wonderful place starting to take a little bit of a tumble. I hope it starts to stabilize again. Also we miss "Will". He always knew allergies, and knew the menu inside out, and if something didn't work he would go into the kitchen and make something work for us.

The menu is varied to the point of having difficulty choosing. We chose Hungarian stuffed cabbage and trio salad. HUGE portions are their signature. My meal came with a cup of soup & I chose matzo ball. Also, I chose baked potato and chickpea salad and a side tossed salad. I do not eat processed sugar and they had oil and vinegar to dress the tossed salad. We had 2 large pieces of challah bread with it and hubby had half of a lemon danish for his dessert, saving the rest for tonight. The bakery section is very impressive and I would have had a very hard time back in my sugar addicted days. This place is already on my calendar for next year's return. I had a neat conversation with our waitress about Amorgos and Santorini Greece. This family does a great job of serving the community!

I made the tactical error of visiting Rosy Tomorrow's for a work meeting…read more Not because the meeting was bad, but because this place clearly deserves a version of me who is off the clock, has nowhere else to be, and is prepared to make several questionable menu decisions. The atmosphere is fantastic. The people, energy, truly one of a kind décor, and wonderfully unconventional menu all make the experience feel like much more than lunch. The staff was amazing, the food was very good, and the portions were generous. One wrap at our table looked like it may have missed a growth spurt, but everything else arrived ready to feed actual adults. One important logistical note: If you are especially well hydrated, choose your seat strategically. The restroom is on the bottom floor, and getting there may qualify as the day's cardio. I left with two strong conclusions: First, I really like this place. Second, conducting a work meeting here was like going to an amusement park to discuss spreadsheets. I cannot wait to return in a more appropriately fun frame of mind and work my way through everything I wanted to order but couldn't reasonably explain on an expense report. Consider this the preliminary review. The full investigation will require another visit, several friends, and absolutely no agenda.
