Take your car here!! Really helpful and amazing people who do great work. They even help you with the whole process of getting back and forth from the car rental place. My car looks brand new after being side swiped and needed two doors replaced, they even cleaned it for me before returning it. When I started having issues with the person at fault's Geico insurance these awesome people were on my side and made calls to Geico themselves trying to help me get to the bottom of it. They also noticed I needed new tires and were able to give me a good deal to replace them! I no longer live in Worcester, but have scheduled trips back on more than one occasion so I can have Bill take care of my car. I can't say enough about this place, but I'll try: He's honest. He will look and let you know if the part is still in good enough shape, or if it has to go. This sounds like a normal thing to do, but most mechanics will just put in the new part so they can charge you. Fair: I dropped my car off recently with a small list of things that needed to be done, and basically gave him a blank check (NOT RECOMMENDED). Since I knew him, I knew he wasn't going to screw me over. He ended up only replacing spark plugs as part of my tune-up, an told me everything else was fine. He replaced the brakes and informed me that whoever installed the rotors (not him) had put on the wrong size rotors. I told him i also needed shocks and struts, but he came back and said the suspension is fine. The price for all this was more than fair, less than $400. Most mechanics would have just replaced everything and the bill easily could have been around $1000. Bottom line: GO HERE. It is busy and he probably won't call when it's done, but he has never told me he'd get it done by a certain time and not done it. read more

I dropped my car off with these guys for a repair that could easily be completed within a few hours. I was the very first person that Billy saw on the morning of my visit and he told me to come back later in the afternoon. I decided to take a walk to the Worcester Public Library and wait it out while my car was being repaired. When I returned later that day, I came to discover that my car hadn't been worked on at all. Billy and friends completely forgot about it! I was pissed after leaving there but decided I'd give these guys a second chance. I figured I would wait in their ghetto of a waiting room where they could actually see me sitting there. Billy is the most dependable, honest mechanic in the city. I have come to him for years, with multiple cars, and he has always tackled each problem from the point of view of the customer. In all the years I have known him, he has *never* made a decision based on what would be more advantageous to him. He has occasionally talked me out of expensive procedures that were unnecessary. When he repairs something, it stays fixed, and the price is always lower than I assumed it would be. If you have an expensive car and you need top-tier work, he'll do an awesome job, and if you have a real junker that you want him to hold together with bailing wire and prayers for a few bucks, he's just as good at that. I had a minor side swipe incident involved portion of the bumper rear left quarter panel and the rocker mostly paint and some Bondo . I felt comfortable leaving the car at Elm Park Auto Body after 2 other shop compassion's . The reason was rather simple it was in my neighborhood and they had rentals on site, kind of a close one stop shop for me . I had a walk through , the guys seemed to be involved with their work the shop was in descent condition. I was sold. Big mistake on my part , first the job quote was one week ok no problem . I received a clunker for a repair vehicle , it was so bad I had to bring it back the next day to have a repair done on the braking system. ? Really the brakes? it was a v6 when I was told I would receive a v4 which was hard to afford gas for me . I really needed a v4 (four cylinder) because I travel far for work in many different locations which I told "Larry" . The rental was dirty and not working correctly basically not what I expected from Elm Park Auto Body after speaking with the "look what we can do" Larry . Second I received information my car was still awaiting supplementary appraisal from my insurance company which made me a little upset considering it was already Five business days into the repair. I went to the shop and collected a few items and my car was in pieces and the windows were down I don't need to tell you about the amount of dust in the air in an auto body center I thought that was a total disreguard for personal property (personnel opinion). I had called my insurance company and was told they were never aware of this situation and as soon as I did let them know they sent an appraiser down within 2 hours the reason I believe is so Elm Park Auto Body could collect the extra money per day for the rental . After two weeks I received my car and had to take it back for paint blemishes poor workmanship on some of the trim ( basically hanging there and my rear window was not properly seated for some reason, and had air seeping through. Had that fixed now my rear leather seat has a discoloration in one side and my window tint has been damaged.The way I see it if you pay someone to fix your vehicle or anything for that matter they should not damage something else in the process. I dropped my car off to have the engine replaced back in May of this year. The engine had overheated to the point where it was no longer salvagable, and he stated that while it would take a while to do he could certainly repair the vehicle. It took him 6 MONTHS to get the new engine in and when I finally got the car back (a week ago), I was able to drive the vehicle a total of three times before the battery (brand new) was drained by something I could not determin. On the off chance this could be an issue with how the Monsoon Radio's electrical was reconnected, I had a mechanic look at it and sure enough, Elm Park Auto had hooked the damn thing up incorrectly and it was causing a phantom drain on the battery when the vehicle was turned off (the amp for the system was remaining on and causing the draw). We ruled out that this was a "freak issue" and the mechanic told me to bring it right back to them to get it repaired since they caused the problem in the first place. My husband goes down to pick up the car, and not only had they not fixed the problem (they removed a fuse so the radio no longer operates, fixing the battery drain but not the actual problem and leaving me with a dead radio system) but they charged my husband $100 for the "repair" and attempted to bill us for a state inspection sticker they had already charged us for. Needless to say, I'm getting a lawyer involved with this, filed a complaint with the Attorney General and the BBB, and will be contacting my original mechanic for additional copies of the documentation he provided for me to send to my lawyer. Bill comes across as nice and this situation has come as a complete surprise, as I've taken my vehicle to him multiple times and never had an issue before. He was always fair (sort of) in the past, though prices for labor was more than I expected on the average repair. Since May, when mentioning to friends and family who I brought the vehicle to, the response had always been "ooooh, he's going to screw you over. He's had the car HOW long? Get the car back and go somewhere else.". I should have listened, but gave Bill the benefit of the doubt. I regret this. Do not go here unless you want to get screwed over. I'm out $3100 and had to suspend my own part time business due to the lack of transportation. I've lost thousands of dollars in business due to this and now I'm being screwed over by a shoddy repair. They never fail to help me out at Elm Park Auto. Bill always listens patiently, gives me honest advice, and never makes me feel stupid. He is quick and fair - and never pushes repairs that aren't really needed. I once asked for a job to be done, & he's explained to me why we didn't need to do it quite yet after listening to my reasons for the request. They are always busy - so scheduling & drop off can be tight - but it is clearly because everyone in the state knows and trusts this business. I discovered Elm Park Auto Body quite by accident! After an accident, I needed a car towed and I remembered seeing their sign. It was that simple. Over the years I had dealt with three other local shops. One was ok but two actually disappointed me with the quality of their work. Elm Park has now repaired cars for me on four occasions. I would not go anywhere else. On two occasions these were not incidents where insurance was paying. It was out of my pocket. Each time I found their estimates to be most fair. The work was always done at or even below the estimate. Recently, after two less than satisfying attempts to get an antique foreign care repaired and partially painted, I asked Elm Park if they could do it. There was a lot of body rust and some damage from previous attempts. In two weeks the car was like new. Plus additional work of prep and painting was done just to make the new paint job blend in better with the old. There was no change in the estimated cost. The car was thoroughly cleaned inside and out. I recommend Elm Park to anyone who asks about local body work. I have consistently found Elm Park Auto Body to be honest and customer focused. Someone seems always to be there to answer the phone or speak with you in person.I hope not to need their services in the future, but if I do I will go there with confidence in their quality of work and fairness of cost. I don't see the logic in going to any other place: This is the place to get car repairs done and you won't be sorry. catty corner from Elm Park and they don't sell gas. Honest as the day is long, hard working and probably the best rep in town. (the president of the ASE recommended it to me). My car is not new and they've always managed to get the job done from disc brakes to oil changes to anything. I get it inspected there, too. They are always busy and they work hard and don't waste time. Never heard one complaint. Hint: In college I was an auto mechanic, pumped gas and did emergency calls. So, I know a little. if you want to go to the dealer and fleeced, OK. But the law says you don't have to and you won't lose your warranty.
