This place is clearly a local favorite as the small parking lot was full, but we lucked out as someone was pulling out as we arrived. The service was top notch! We were greeted by a friendly young woman who seated us right away in a 2 person booth. The place is your classic stainless steel exterior and the inside was packed with happy patrons. The people in the booth next to us said they rarely dine out but they frequent Georgie's for their food. We were served by 3 different young women who were super friendly and professional. Before we got our food I was thinking I would come back for the service alone. Now the food. I ordered Georgie's omelette with home fries. 5/5. Excellent omelette and though the home fries were just potatoes they were cooked with some crunchy bits that simply elevated them. Laura got the eggs Benedict and she loved it. 5/5. We also ordered the buckwheat pancakes with blueberries and bananas. These were the best pancakes I've ever eaten 5/5! On top of it they serve organic food and locally sourced ingredients. The diversity of their staff was another added feature. This place is special!!! Laura and I agreed that it was the best meal we ate during our New Haven weekend. I would go on a 1.5 hour road trip for this place. Top notch!

Always fast service, always smiles. I never expect much when I go out and this place has never disappointed as far as service goes. Food can be a bit more difficult. A lot of it lately has been bland. The Chicken orzo soup tasted like straight water. Same with my chicken parm dish, the sauce was colored water. What happened guys? Fair portions however, and its great for breakfast. Owners are also amazing. I once ordered Lobster and got a full Lobster on a plate. I never had to crack a shell before. The owner sat down, put on gloves, made conversation and sat with me as he pulled out all the meat. I felt so bad but he was so nice I'll never forget it. read more

I ordered a dinner that came with soup and salad. My salad didn't arrive. I asked Randy why who said I didn't ask for it and would only come if I asked for it. I asked if it was included in my meal and the price. He said yes but would only bring it if I asked, not because it was included. I asked for a manager who hour and a half later never showed. You can't go wrong here. I often eat with picky people although I myself am not. Nichole was out waitress and she was really great. Try one of the greek specialties on the menu. They are sure not to disappoint you. For many of the dinners, you will be taking some home which is what I like about eating at diners. If you want fancier "atmosphere" and higher prices, go elsewhere....but for the money, the "Elm" gives you more than you could ask! read more
