    Ellsworth is a small but warm and welcoming place . We went for the New Years Eve prix fixe menu with wine pairings. While not inexpensive at $150 per person(including wines) , it was worth every penny. Each course was prepared and presented perfectly. The wines chosen for each course went perfectly with food. The servers were charming and attentive. One of the better meals of my life. I will definitely return on my next visit to Paris.

    My husband and I visited Ellsworth on our first trip to Paris and absolutely loved it. From the atmosphere to the food and the staff it was a wonderful experience. Would definitely go back if we are ever in Paris again!

    These little guys were very tasty, well seasoned and filling, but they were a little dry and the breading came off as soon as you cut into them. The tea cups were super cute and very delicate. I enjoyed the bread especially the homemade butter. Service was amazing considering there was only two of them working not including the chef. Space was very small.

    Beaming from my meal at Verjus earlier in the week, I was looking forward to trying its sister restaurant Ellsworth. Unfortunately, this did not live up to the hype. For appetizers, the mussels had a nice marination but were served as a cold dish which, in my opinion, would have been better hot. The fried chicken was good but nothing special. For the main course, we shared the lobster for two. It came with a few extra side dishes (onions, lobster bean dish) which was decent in flavor but unfortunately not enough to salvage the entire meal. For this price point, you can surely find better options in the area.

    Located near the Louvre and the Palais Royal, this street has a number of good restaurants. On our way to Ellsworth, there was a serious line for what looked like a ramen place. Ramen in Paris? I'd have to try that on my next trip. We initially came here, because I was enticed by the fried chicken appetizer. It was good, but that was not the star of the meal. I got the Skate Wing and my hubby got the Risotto. My fish was delightful, but my husband's risotto was absolutely sinful. I couldn't get enough of the sweet corn texture and black truffle aroma and flavor of the risotto. I was hoping to practice my French, but the restaurant catered well towards English speakers. We were flanked on both sides by Americans from California and New York, who also enjoyed the risotto. It's always fun to travel halfway across the globe, to ironically end up sitting next to people who are visiting from the same country. Cheers!

    $$$ tasty upscale spot if you're looking for a wide variety of different and unique dishes. The venison meat pie was delicious and surprised us. But the MVP...the fried chicken! It was amazing... perfectly fried with ranch dressing. I only wish there was more of it or a larger piece in sandwich form. I believe they only had ice cream for dessert but hopefully they will have more options in the future. English speaking and friendly.

    I was referred here by a couple of friends who swore that Ellsworth was home of the best fried chicken they'd ever had. This was a ballsy claim, and definitely piqued my interest. I've had my fair share of a nicely battered, fried bird in the American south, Los Angeles, NYC and Seoul. I had no real intention of seeking out American food while in Paris but I've been pleasantly surprised so far. Ellsworth lives up to the hype of having excellent fried chicken. It is made to order crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and perfectly flavored. 4 stars only for the size of the serving: I was a little surprised to get four very small chicken bites for €11, not sure why I was expecting it to be a meal portion (a whole breast or a filet at least??) but the joke was on me. I'm not so cheap that I let it ruin the experience but others may be put off by this smaller than appetizer sized serving; especially since it's on the regular menu along with entrees. While it's not exactly the best fried chicken I've ever had, it is quite good. Don't expect to be satiated afterward, though.

    I'd give this place 3.5 stars for brunch - I haven't yet tried this for dinner. After living in France for a year, I was craving some American brunch, so this place fit the bill, but if you're traveling from the States, you can probably skip this place for brunch unless you're a huge fried chicken fan. Other than the fried chicken, I thought the other dishes were okay - they were great, but nothing to write home about and probably nothing that left me craving for more or wanting to come back on another trip to Paris. Make reservations ahead of time - it's easy to do so online, and come with 4+ for brunch so that you can share a lot of things. The space is not huge but it's configured in a way where if you had 6 or 8 people you'd be fine. Ricotta Doughnuts, Whey Caramel, Vanilla (7€) - Not the healthiest choice on the menu but if you have 4 people to share with, you can each have 2 and it's not quite so bad. I liked these little donuts - they were freshly fried and tasty. My husband didn't really care for these as much. French Toast, Pears, Toasted Almonds, Crème Diplomate (12€) - The French call it pain perdu and it's usually found on dessert menus, but I guess it's an American thing to turn dessert into breakfast ;) They actually call this French Toast on the English menu, and it was really good although a little small for the price that you pay for 2 small pieces of French Toast. It was enough to satisfy my sweet tooth for brunch, and it was light, fluffy, and the pears and the creme patisserie went really well with this. I wouldn't get this alone for a meal since it's a bit like dessert. It's best shared with 4 people. Fried Chicken, Pickles, Cabbage, Buttermilk (12€) - This dish is what makes Ellsworth famous for brunch and it lives up to the hype. We almost ordered only one of these for the table of 4, but we were glad the waitress told us that wasn't enough, and to get 2 for 4 people -- it was a smart move. The chicken was perfectly coated, perfectly fried, and really moist and juicy inside - one of the best fried chicken I've had. You can't come here and not get this. I was a little disappointed that some of the other pictures on Instagram showed this served with biscuits - ours didn't have anything except a buttermilk ranch sauce, which was the perfect dipping sauce for the chicken. But regardless, this was the star of the meal. Pork Belly, Carotte With Orange, Cured Egg Yolk (14€) - I would skip this - I wasn't impressed at all with this. The pork belly was really fatty and the skin on top wasn't very crispy. The portion was also tiny. There weren't a ton of other savory options on the menu, so we got this, but to be honest, I wish we had gotten something else instead. All in all, decent for an American brunch if that's what you're in the mood for, or if you really love fried chicken. If you're only in Paris for a few days and visiting from a big city like San Francisco or New York, where brunch places are plentiful, you can probably skip this place. The quality of the food is good, the fried chicken is amazing, but you can get similar things in the States. 3.5 stars from me - loved the fried chicken, but hit-or-miss on some other dishes.

    This place seemed liked a must-go based on the reviews and remarks online. My wife and I ordered the fried chicken, Bloody Mary, and fresh orange juice. -fried chicken was decent. Would have liked the crust to be more crispy, but it and the accompanying buttermilk ranch were quite flavorful. -can't tell you about the drinks because they never showed up. Our check arrived at the end with the drinks on it and the server seemed confused when we told her we never received them. -food from the kitchen seemed to be coming out in random order. Our two chicken dishes arrived before the table next to us, who had also ordered two chicken plates before us. -there seemed to be something growing on my silverware that was given to me (picture attached). In summary, the restaurant did not meet expectations. We were confused why the reviews were red hot. Hopefully our experience was just a mysterious outlier.

    Love this place!! (As well as it's sister restaurant but that's for another review). If I lived in Paris, I'd come here all the time and considering we visited twice during our week long stay in the city, you know we love it here!! A cute little place, can be cramped for some but you are in Paris, where lots of places are small-ish compared to in the States but I love the windows, atmosphere and friendly staff. The highlights of our first visit was the fried chicken and truffle ravioli w/ egg and almond cake with lavender ice cream. I can't believe that fried chicken (breast, not dark meat)... it was so good : crispy outside and juicy inside and it's NOT greasy (I touched the plate when we were done and could only feel very very little grease and had to look closely to see the residue). The ravioli totally blown us away too... will definitely eat it all day everyday!! Everything from the truffle, egg, dough and green beans on the bottom just work so perfectly together. Second visit was on a whim as we got home late and wanted a late night bite and we were so glad they took us even during a busy evening. This time we sat at the bar and it was a different experience as we got to chat with the bartenders!! This is also when they switched up the menu a little bit and the squash fondue was the most memorable. They baked the squash first and cut off the top and pour a mixture of cheese in the middle!! Believe it or not, it is probably one of the most memorable dishes we've had in Paris and we ate at lots of good places, including Michelin starred restaurants...

It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

Same comment as the above, except the Landais had egg and goat cheese also mixed in with almost the same ingredients as the Fermier. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + The lone waitress, who also worked the role as greeter, cashier and bartender was friendly. + Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ = Small, tight restaurant. = Not many tables inside - 6 in total. + Located a few blocks away from the more touristy restaurants, towards the East, on a much quieter street.
