I didn't call them directly. However, I got a free service (not a tow) through AAA because of two flat rear tires a couple of weeks ago. It was time to replace my tires anyway. That's what happens when your brother ships five heavy boxes full of dumb crap like heavy music speakers and other insanely heavy stuff to you from South Korea before returning to the SFBA. You put those heavy boxes in your car and the next thing that happens: the rear tires go flat for the first time ever. I just wanted to give a HUGE shoutout to my guy Casey Torres! If I could give him 10 stars I would. I called AAA because I was afraid that I needed a new battery due to my car being completely unresponsive. Casey looked at the battery and immediately said the battery looked too good to be replaced. He did some wigging and was able to figure out that the cables on the battery were too loose in order for the batter to properly charge itself. The connection cable was hanging on by a thread and it finally fell off which is what caused my car to shut down completely. Casey did not only fix my problem, but he fixed an issue that happened because my mechanic rushed the process of putting the battery back on prior to this incident. Prius hybrid wouldn't start in restaurant parking lot and couldn't figure why. Called AAA who sent an Ellison's Towing truck driver who diagnosed it as dead battery and suggested he provide jump start and I go home to wait for another truck to come and and install new battery. Did that and Towing Truck driver Casey Torres arrived about 2 hours later with new battery which he did great job of installing (which was rather complicated). Would highly recommend AAA service and Ellison's in general and driver Casey Torres in particular. In fact, I've used Ellison's in form or another for over 60 years including back way when they had a repair shop in Palo Alto. read more

He helped me a call a tow and waited for me to figure out where to get the car towed. Very kind, very polite. The next tow driver was also very kind, got my car dropped off at a local dealership for an after hours key drop, then dropped me off at a hotel to stay at, as I don't live anywhere nearby. Tonight I locked my keys in the car, and I called AAA for Roadside Assistance. I gave them my address (which was at a school that is very visible and explained that I did not have a phone with me). AAA placed the request and said someone would be there within the hour. That was at 6:20 p.m. I stepped away from the desk phone to stand out front looking out for the tow truck. After 1/2 hour of waiting, I went back into the office to check on the status with AAA and noticed a message waiting. Due to the main line being shut off, the phone did not ring, and it went straight to voicemail. I received only one phone call leaving the phone number for Ellison Towing (650) 934-0842, and a message that the tow truck was canceled due to no one answering the phone. I called back and spoke to a very unprofessional and rude woman named Ana. She didn't care that they went to the wrong location (even though the address was noted as Bryant Street - on the corner of Embarcadero and Bryant). The tow truck went to Kellogg Street instead. When I tried to explain my situation, she kept repeating there was nothing she could do and that I would have to call AAA again to place another request. At this point, I had been waiting 1 1/2 hours for someone to come by. It was very frustrating to have to call AAA again and resubmit another call. A very nice lady named Jennifer put in my request (AGAIN) and detailed where to go. She indicated she could see exactly where I was located and noted that the parking lot was very visible, I did not have a phone, and that I would be waiting for the tow truck out front. Another hour went by, and still no one came by. I was waiting all this time in the dark, outside, alone, and feeling very unsafe waiting for a tow truck from your company to arrive. I went back inside and had to borrow someone's phone to call back Ellison's Towing. Again, Ana answered, and this time when I asked if someone was coming to Bryant Street, she stated that there was no call for this address. This is very frustrating, as I have been waiting for over 2 hours with no resolution. I then called AAA (for the 3rd time) to find out if the call had been placed and was told that the records showed that Ellison Towing sent someone out, and there was no one there, so they left. How is this possible? I was there the whole time, and Ana indicated that no one was called to that address??? Either she did not put in the request, or she canceled it and lied!! This is no way to run a business that is supposed to help people!! AAA is a reputable company that has provided us with great service for over 25 years, they don't need a bad reputation caused by tow companies vendors not doing their jobs. read more

I was driving a 26ft Flatbed Truck from Los Angeles to San Francisco for a non-profit event. It was a long and grueling drive and took quite a while! It was already past 9pm and I was nearing my destination but had to pull off in Mountain View for a bathroom before completing the drive. Once I locked the door of the cab, I realized the keys were still inside. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Thank the powers that be, I at least had my phone. After calling AAA, Soledad from Ellison's arrived to help. She worked on opening the truck for a while, but it wasn't looking good: the truck is considered a commercial vehicle and the doors are made quite differently (and much more securely) than your average, personal use vehicle. She was having trouble and called for backup. When the guy arrived (don't remember his name), he was quick to say it's hopeless and nearly gave up before starting any attempt whatsoever. I was beside myself and honestly couldn't believe this guy wasn't even going to TRY to help us. I did my best to hold back tears as I explained my situation and the fact that it was now 10pm on a Sunday night... who was I going to call to help me?! Soledad sprang into action and continued to work on the truck, using her tools AND his, even climbing on top of the cab to try from another angle. Several minutes passed, all the while she's working hard. At some point, nameless dude kinda starts to help... MAYBE because he realized that we WOMEN were doing it on our own and his masculinity may start to be called into question. *big eye roll* If this review were about dude, it'd be a 2 star for sure. It took quite a while, and a lot of maneuvering, but FINALLY!!! Thanks to Soledad and only Soledad for being my WONDER WOMAN that night! She finally got a wire into the door to unlock the cab from the inside. MY HEROINE!!!!!!! You rock, girl. Keep up the good work and I sure hope those dudes you work with respect the hell out of you. The service was summoned by Tesla's Emergency Roadside from the app. The estimated wait time was 75 minutes; Ellison's showed up right to the minute. Oliver greeted me and asked if I was okay. He then explained how he was going to replace the tire; and then invited me to sit in the cab of his truck so that I could watch. Oliver had the tire replaced within fifteen minutes; had me sign the necessary paperwork to complete the service; and, had me on my way. His courtesy and generosity was surprising! Wow. What a great experience today. First we had Casey some and help is with 4 vehicles needing new batteries. He rested each one, showed us results and then replaced the batteries, restarted the vehicles and retested. He also filled the tires for us. On the third vehicle he noticed that the brake pedal was going nearly through the floor and realized it wasn't going to be safe for driving. So he recommended we stay safe and not drive it. Hello, My car Toyota Campy was towed by this company on 06/28/23 by mistake. An apartment's manager called this company without sending any notes out to ask asking who belonged this car. I was first in shock to find out that my car was not on the parking lot. Then my friends and I found out that my car was taken by this company by the manager's error. They charged me $300 me for the wrong towing. Then we waited for a long time to get an access to my car since they were very slow. Then I got another shock when my car could not start at all for hours . Their people tried to start but nothing happened even though my car has a new battery and a starter. We called AAA to come to get my car out of their parking lot because they would charge more money for my car staying there . While waiting for AAA for 2 hours we had been watching how truck drivers treated cars without owners presence. After sitting in friend's car ,waiting , and praying for 2 hours AAA came to get me . However, I decided first to try again to start my car and it finally started so that I canceled AAA service. I started driving home while it was still working and I noticed that my GPS that was before mounted on the front glass now on the car's floor. I tried to use it but it was dead dead since there was not connection with satellite anymore . After being in horrible shock of all of these issues for hours it came to me that my front glass is broken and has a line across the window. It is absolutely obvious that they dropped my car from their truck so hard that connection in the car was damaged , GPS sensors got damaged, and front glass got cracking line now . They even did not apology for these problems. I had very bad experience with them, don't care about people cars , not being considerate , just ignorant. read more
